I installed Gingerbread from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051580
and now my SE XPERIA x8 stucks on the first screen "SONY ERICSSON".
What should I do?
Can you enter xrecovery? If yes so you can try flashing it again, or if you have made a backup, you can restore it...

I have the same problem
Could you please tell me how to find the "steps"?

SEUS.. go and download Update_Service_Setup-2.11.5.6.exe.
So if you ruin your system somehow you can actually restore it from the official SE software?
if thats the case I might actually pluck up the courage to mod mine >.<

I can live with having to reinstall apps. I'm just surprised it'll actually fix a bootloop. That's really good! So as long as it switches on, you can bugger the system all you want and SEUS can factory restore it? Epic
Hi Iceman,
I also own an Xperia Arc with the same build and firmware version as you have. I successfully unlocked the bootloader, but after attempting to root, I cannot get past the SE logo. I cannot connect to the flashing tool (version 0.2.9.1) and I cannot connect to PC companion.
What can you suggest to unbrick my phone?
Thanks, Tom

You need to give more info as to how u attempted to root?
Did u flash back to 2.3.2 and then update OTA? That would cause it to brick .. Look for the tutorial on how to unbrick the unlocked OTA updated phones in the forum..
If you are unlocked you can simply flash one of the rooted images..again check for the tutorial thread.. there are a couple i think..

I upgraded the phone to 2.3.3 stock SE then I tried to root the phone using a flashtool by azuzu from this website:
http://www.xperiax10.net/2011/09/08/root-your-gingerbread-xperia-x10-tutorial/
I installed Gordon Gate driver 2.2.0.1 before following this guide. Then I followed every steps on this guide and it seems good until I get to step 6 (Upgrade Kernel) I couldn't upgrade and it gives me an error message.

Hello everyone,
First: I am new to here so if I make mistakes please tell me, not yell
Ok,
I have installed GingerDX v23b on my Xperia X8 device (The last version developed by DX - don't remember his username) and was very happy with it. but I wanted the dual touch. It didn't work the way I wanted it to antil I've found a thread in FXP (a Israeli forum) which guided the installation of GingerDX v24 and dual touch.
I followed the instructions. I installed xRecovery and after that the DualTouch file.
AKA: htt p:// www .mediaf ire.com /?w5su i27ktb 6icj9
Installed the dualtouch, got back to the xRecovery main menu and pressed reboot.
Now my phone is stuck on the Sony Ericsson logo and I have no idea what to do.
So... I need help ASAP!!
Thanks in advanced,
Namro
Do you have sony ericsson update service?
Sent from my E15i using xda premium
Flash your kernel again and do a full wipe and flash your ROM....
GingerDX already got dual touch but if it is not working on you...then your digitizer is cypress and u can have real dual touch... search the forum and there are topics about bringing DT to GDX

well, downloaded it, running it right now and it's checking my phone.
seems to be stuck, I'll leave it running for a while.
thanks!

Hello,
erm,I think u should unlock the bootloader? before installing any costum Rom. and any kernel (ROM require costume kernel). ROM GingerDX v23b use stock kernel? i suggest u read carefully the thread, maybe u missed something. try reflash kernel (if u already unlock bootloader) or repair with SEUS and start over again. it happend to me when i flash costum rom that need costum kernel. or maybe u need to flash it with CWM, not xRecovery?
Do enlighten me if im wrong.
Peace,
you dont need to change the kernel to install Ginger DX.
Is the recovery coming on when you press the back key at the logo?
If so, you can reflash the ROM.
if not, use the flashtool to burn a new firmware or you might even be able to connect the phone to SEUS and flash the stock firmware onto the phone.
i dont think you phone is bricked. it might be a software error.
cool down and read the "what you should do if you brick the phone" thread.

Try this THREAD first.
If it doesn't work, you'll have to restore your X8 to it's original state. Follow these instructions STEP BY STEP:
- On your PC, uninstall Sony PC Companion
- Restart your PC
- Reinstall Sony PC Companion by downloading it from here
- Turn off the phone, and unplug it from the PC
- Turn on Sony PC Companion on your PC
- In PC Companion, enter the Support Zone tab
- Go to Update Phone Software
A window will pop out, saying that it cannot find your phone
- Click on Fix Phone
- Click on Continue
A window will pop out, saying that you will lose all your data
- TICK the BOX
- Click on continue
An update process will began.
Wait for it to show a window with all the SONY mobile phones
- Find your phone (X8)
- Click on the phone.
Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions. It will tell you to hold the back button and plug your turned-off X8 to the PC, then it will erase everything, and download the original 2.1 ROM to your X8.
You can try using flashtool. First reflash your kernel. Then try to flash the rom again using flashtool.
