for the surprise
Nexus S2 / N3? just kidding. i would be pissed if that happened :O
if the att version of nexus s, I won't be surprised.
if 2.3.4/2.4, it is too early, because this should either announced at 5/8 or at io
may be just a free ticket for io?
I'm hoping for 2.3.4. We'll see...
the white version, or maybe a announcement of a new f/w.
yeah i just saw this on twitter. I hope its 2.3.4!!!!

That's amazing, they're getting updates from a server that's supposedly offline.

Just a thought but if the servers are offline checkin wouldn't work right?

They're either facepalming or laughing their ass off.... Or just working on Gingerbread like good engineers.
That article is nothing to get excited about. We do not have a confirmed N1 on 2.1 update. When i see that I'll believe it.
The idea is that we need to have 2 things to have it official:
1. One google employee stating the roll out has began.
2. A 2.1 N1 gets the update.
Till then, fry your brains with articles like these.
What is the build for this one?

There is no difference in the one Google will push to your phone. Vs. the one i posted. I got the OTA update used Absolute System Tools to store the .apk, minus the data, on my SD card, then uploaded it to my Dropbox account... There is no hackery involved. Not everyone is out to get you. Some of us legitimately want/like to help other people out.

I find it really odd Google made a point of saying the ota was coming mid-july then released it the day they announced it. I mean I believe its happening it just seems weird, saying that it was out TODAY!!1!1! Would've stolen the news day on every tech site and been free advertising.

That makes a little more sense, I still think it would've been good publicity to make that known with the official announcement, seems like something apple would do (in a good hype-building way).
They said in the keynote that this exactly what would happen.
You will receive a free galaxy nexus....minutes after booting it up you will receive a ota update to 4.1 preview.....

I'm going to guess that the earliest would be tomorrow (hopefully I'm wrong). HTC seems to release things on Fridays.

I don't believe it'll be exactly on the day. They say 15 days from its announcement. 4.4 was announced on a Thursday. I give them props for the confidence in releasing dates so soon unlike Samsung that just has nothing really. Also if they are pushing it I'll be okay if its within a few days or a week from their proposed day. People get to attached to etas . just wait.

If they do deliver on their promise of today/tomorrow, that'd be awesome.
Someone on reddit posted it might be 15 workdays, which might make more sense and is probably likely if it isn't released today or tomorrow.
Football did tweet that 4.4 GE was nearly finished/ready for rollout and sense 5.5 on android 4.4 was in early testing.
We'll see, I guess. I'm probably gonna convert to GE until android 4.4 + Sense 5.5 comes out.

Will the HTC One for the US (the Unlocked) omit the 4.3 update and go straight to 4.4 KitKat?
Although I'm not that eager for 4.4 it's the fact that we still don't have the new Sense yet that makes me ask.

It already has 4.3. If you're talking about Sense 5.5, then no, it won't get it until it gets the 4.4 update.
The details of the KitKat rollout for the HTC One were shared in an interview with Engadget.
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/31/htc-one-android-kitkat/
Here are the highlights:
HTC one GPe within 15 days,
HTC One Developer Edition within 30 days
All other North American HTC One SKUs (including all carrier variants) within 90 days
These details were shared on October 31. For HTC to keep the deadline, the HTC One GPe update will need to be released tomorrow and the Dev Edition needs to get its update by the end of November.

I have a lot of friends that use facebook live so dont think its actually going by verified or celeb status. They might be rollin it out based on usage/location. The friends that I have seen using it are always posting stuff nonstop so maybe its not fully rolled out. Orrrr maybe hasn't been pushed to the nexus yet.

It was originally for celebrity or verified pages last year but was released in January or before for everyone on ios then announced the last week of February that it will be rolled out to Android starting in the US in the coming weeks... I have it on my old deactivated LG G3 but still don't have on my active LG G4. I don't understand why over a month later why it's not available. This will show in the Facebook app when you create a post as an icon to broadcast live with a person with circles around it
Facebook Mentions is for celebrity and verified pages. Facebook Live will be for everyone else. My wife has it on her Note 3 but I dont have it yet on my Nexus 6p and we both have the same build number of the Facebook app.

Yea and that's what I don't get. I've seen a Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, LG G3, and Droid Turbo have it and a Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and Nexus 5 not have it. Even though it's the same version of Facebook, coming from the same Google Play Store that runs on the same OS. At first I though it was just a retarded Sam**** thing but it looks like all of the Nexus devices just got left out. I even tried getting a beta version of the next version of the Facebook app and that still didn't do anything. I guess the Nexus devices are too good for that lol.
