Depends on what you want it for:
Go to Start/Settings/[Personal tab] Sounds & Notifications/[Notifications tab]
Check the events. You might have one that you have the Vibrate checkbox ticked. For the Event - Phone: Incoming call, you might have the Ring Type set to Vibrate, Vibrate and ring or Vibrate then ring.

Henry

Open it and change it.... or change your time 12 hours backward or change between AM and PM
Yes I can do this, but i will like to know if it is possible that by default birthdays reminder are not full day but from 12 to 14!!!
or is there a way to disable reminder audio?
you can
you can open the birthday and adjust it to a period...
and you can set it to silent too. Two volumes, one for the Phone function and one for PDA (alarm and PDA functions).
Hi Friends
Well,i would love to have my HD2 have this feature as i dont want to miss calls from certain very important persons in my life....any one knows a way 2 do this?
you can set 1 ringtone per contact actually. or group your contacts and set ringtone per group. all native alread in windows.
so instead of silent mode you set a default ring of something silent or a mere ping and then set up the contacts you want to hear with their own or a group ringtone.
at least the ringtone/group option is available under 6.5.x winmob versions

Hi guys,
Is there a way to chill out the vibration on this phone?
Everytime I receive an email or I get an appointment reminder, the phone vibrates for like two seconds.
It should just chill out and give me a short vibrate.
I have managed to tone down the vibration on SMS using SMS popup but appointments and emails are still hyper.

He's obviously not talking about the haptic feedback.
Noticed that as well. Any notification vibrates so long you think it's a call.
Been looking at this, using Handcent has let me change the text vibrate pattern but nothing for emails. I've read that people have used tasker to do it instead.
I set vibro and sound off for all apps that use notifications, because I do not need to feel them - I use the notifications whenever I view the screen.
I think the length of vibro MAY depend on the length of the SOUND tone you set for specific notifications? like it was with old dumb phones? Try picking a shorter sound.
Just put it in your pocket and smile all day long .

When you unclick the vibrate option in notification settings in the stock messaging app, it won't vibrate when you receive a text if you set your phone to vibrate mode.
I don't want my phone to vibrate and make a sound with volume on when receiving texts, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it vibrate only when in vibrate mode and make a sound when in sound mode without vibration.
Other apps like groupme allow you to separate vibration and sound mode, but can't in the stock messaging app
Anyone know how to do this?

I get it. The setting we have on our stock messaging is totally different on the profile setting we have for the phone. So, basically, it won't work the way you want. If you unclick the vibrate on SMS setting, yes you're right, even if you put the phone on vibrate, it will not still vibrate when you receive notification for SMS.

Yep. So it seems that it is all or none with the vibration option. Sucks.

Ya. But that makes it vibrate all the time, not only when it's in vibrate mode.
I want it to only vibrate when on vibrate mode, not sound mode

Just put on your profile on Vibrate mode so that when you receive notification, it will vibrate. Or if it still doesn't work, don't know what to do anymore.
