Recovery mode issue. - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi. i have a recovery mode issue after flashing my SGS to the new gingerbread firmware 2.3.3. the problem is that when i try to enter recovery mode it enters but i could not see the menu, instead i see the i9000 samsung screen. also sometimes when i turn the phone on before the welcome screen appears. the screen shows blury colours all over the screen like it's broken or somthing. but after a few seconds all works fine. my question is what can i do to fix this ? i tried to change the kernel with no luck.
F/W Version: 2.3.3
kernel: 2.6.35.7-i9000XWJVB
baseband version: I9000XXJVK
build number: Gingerbread.XWJVB
Thanks in advance and sorry for my lame english

I have the same problem, some help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Thanks i knew their was something i missed .

where can i find the correct bootloaders for the rom i used and do i need to flash them using odin while only the bootloader checked ? or do i need to reflash the whole phone again including the rom too ?.

Start by just flashing with pit and repartition checked and phone bootloader update .#
jje

i did what u suggested, still the same problem, recovery enters but shows the samsung logo instead of the menu and when i turn on the phone the screen show colours all over the screen for 2 seconds then it boots normally. maybe i downloaded a faulty rom, can u direct me to a safe rom with good kernel ?

Go into the 2.3.3 thread, and download the rom with the bootloader. Flash the whole rom.
Problem solved.

[Q] Galaxy Tab hangs on Galaxy Tab Logo after firmware upgrade

Hello, I have upgraded my galaxy tab (pda jj3-phone jid - csc jj2) to roto jmi firmware with odin 1.7. all the process seems to be ok, no error message.
After rebooting, the device hangs on galaxy tab samsung logo. factory reset is no longer possible. Does anybody have a idea?
Many thanks in advance.

Ever heard of "if it ain't broke dont fix it"? So, there you go
sure... sure but now it is
Try using volume UP rocker + power button.
This should put the phone into recovery.. Then you select reset to factory defaults. That should do the trick.
thx kragebein, unfortunately my device won't to go in recovery mode
Are you sure you are doing it right? Hold down the up volume rocker and the power button at the same time until you hit the recovery screen? Optionally you could try to see if you get it in download mode, and reflash your phone.. i had severe problems with mine, but got it fixed today by using roto-jma rom..

Yes, I think I dit it right. Download mode can be activated with volume down & power, but not recovery mode with volume up & power. I have tried to load the firmware again without any error message, but no way.

You need to flash a complete rom, like Roto JME FULL v.4 with the tab in download mode. He gives complete instructions.
Some releases are just upgrades, so start with a complete rom.

I have tried that and either it fails to upload the primary bootloader (boot.bin) or it stays the same after flashing: it doesn't go beyond the first Samsung Screen. No adb connection possible.
How can I flash a primary bootloader without protection? With JTAG only?
A forum member, Rotohammer used a Jtag box to fix the bootloader issue. He doesn't recieve PM's, but someone he collaborated with to solve the bootloader issue is a fellow named Chainfire. Perhaps you can contact him for the procedure.
But when you flashed the JME did you use the hidden .pit file with repartition selected?
If I was in your spot I would
1. turn off the tab (push power button for 10 sec)
2. then push power and volume down to go to download (yellow digger screen or phone and pc screen)
3. Connect to pc with odin3 already opened, wait until the yellow box shows the connection
4. Load the p1_hidden.pit and check repartition
5. Flash that, then power off, go into DL again, load and flash JME v4 full rom
6. Now flash a modem
hi guys im thinking that u guys may have flash a lock bootloader rom
or u actually already have a lock bootloader rom
try load a roto jme v4 full version see if it works~
1. download odin 1.7
2. download Addon-JME-Modem.zip / P1_add_hidden.pit / Roto-JME-Full-v4.zip from http://files.deodexed.com/ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet/Rotohammer/JME/
3. and follow the instruction here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895827
I wish i said that.

Thanks, but this didn't help. I think it may be a hardware issue (e.g. the kernel can't be loaded, panic or something). I will return my tab tomorrow.

How to WIPE without CWM / NO recovery / only download

Hey guys.
I have been doing a lot of researches before creating this new thread.
Here is my problem with a Samsung Galaxy s3 I9300T (Australia - Vodafone build). I was given the phone, since it was stuck in a boot loop after a software update issue with Kies (I think from memory 4.2 or something).
The phone boots up, displays the Vodafone logo, and is stuck on the Samsung logo. The phone doesn't restart but stays idle there.
It is impossible to reach the download mode with the use of the 3 buttons, but a USB JIB I bought on ebay does the trick.
Odin recognizes the phone, I can flash a stock Kernel from Samsmobile or root/install the CWM.
BUT, there is no way (so far?) to reach the recovery mode.
I tried to flash a new boot loader, tried to check any physical issue with the buttons, but nothing seems wrong.
I have been looking for tools such a android toolbox/toolkit etc, in the hope one would be able to wipe/flash the nand or even unbrick or whatsoever, from a download mode and not ADB, since I there no fast boot available.
I am ready to try anything, since there's nothing to loose here.
I'm running windows 7 from Parallel desktop.
Thanks mates.

How can I perform what you call a "full system reinstall comprehensive of PIT image"?
I have stock firmware, but no PIT file or CSC or whatsoever.
what do you mean by losing EFS? (encryption ??)
Any help is much appreciated.

efs is a system partition wich contains your phone's hardware serial numbers, such as imei, wi-fi mac ecc... losing this means you can't connect to phone network until you restore it(i'm not sure you lose it)
i found this guide here on the forum to restore from brick's or similiar, i think you can try this if normal flashing don't work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367
When you flash full firmware from Samsung (.tar.md5), it includes things such as bootloader, tz, modem, system, cache, preload and the recovery. Just make sure to download it from site such as sammobile, and you can check yourself if your .tar.md5 you're about to flash includes these things using i.e. 7zip.
Untick "auto reboot" option and flash it. After it's done, it won't auto reboot but Odin will change text to "RESET!", this is a signal for you that it's finished.
Hold on Vol-Up+Home+Power for about 7 seconds, until you see Samsung Galaxy S3 logo. It MUST enter stock recovery you've just flashed, unless your hardware is broken. From there you can select Wipe data / factory reset.
Good luck.

Yes this is what I did.
But after "RESET" doing it, holding the buttons won't let me reach the recovery.
Is there a way to access it ? like for instance a USB JIG allowed me to access the DOWNLOAD mode; whereas holding the buttons never let me.

I still do not understand that NO software is able to address the phone, like the recovery mode does.
We can flash from a computer, how come not to wipe from a computer.
assuming that someone has no screen or broken buttons, i'm sure there's a way to access wipe and/or access the recovery to flash a stock rom.
Thanks

Hey, yes I tried the link, but again I cannot access the recovery to flash the .zip file.
When I hold the buttons as soon as the logo "galaxy s III GTI9300" appears, the screen goes black and the logo comes back again.
If I release one button, the vodafone splash screen appears, and the boot is stuck on the samsung logo.
I assume, the buttons are working because of what I just explained.
But again, I cannot access the recovery.
Last week, for some reason, after flashing I has a "setup wizard" from appeared, and crashed. that was the only time. I could see the lights under the touch buttons coming on. After the crash, I tried to reinstall and couldn't do it.
I am still sure there should be a way to wipe the nand completely or install from the SD card via the download mode.
Any help is welcome

Help to find a program or link to a partitioned rom S4 GT- I9515L

Good afternoon, someone there knows some link to a program that to partition a rom : CSC , PDA, MODEM and BOOT ?. Or if you know the CYGWIN and reliable program partition the roms ?
PS : I have a Galaxy S4 GT- I9515L and could not find rom partitioned into place some ! Thank you very much in advance
If you want to flash a stock rom, look for the rom on sammobile.com and just flash the entire rom in the pda slot of Odin 3.07. There is no need to split the file for flashing.

yes and so I'll explain my case. he hung from nothing and when I tried to restart it , it just came into infinite lopping . I tried to make a recovery on it however, when I clicked on power + home button + up he gave a message in blue writing recovery booting and restarted again. I tried to install a rom stock and even the TWRP recovery but he is not out of the infinite lopping and not access the recovery . I wanted a solution to my case because I'm already researching ha two weeks. You know what can be ? and how to solve? I would greatly appreciate it if you helped me
Try again by opening Odin, uncheck auto reboot, flash rom, remove USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, boot into recovery. When you boot to recovery, release the power button as soon as the phone powers up but keep holding home and volume up.

hello i flashed the racerom and when i did restart my device now my device outputs audio or boot animation but nothing on display, recovery is not working either . But ODIn download mode works fine.

2> Mobile Vibrates When i Turn It On

Any solution ?
Hi, please share details of the rim you flashed and the one you were running before flashing the custom rom and finally what original rom did you flash with odin after which it still doesn't boot up.
As of now I could say many things that could be wrong but it won't be of help, however I can share some basics that I know without the other info..
1. You can try to install a custom recovery through odin and then flash the kernel and boot loader for the same version as you flashed through odin by flashing either a flashable zip or img file from twrp.
It could be that you upgraded or downgraded rims and the bootloader is not compatible with the rom you installed. If you had a lollipop bases rom and tried to flash a mm based one without bootloader it will not boot the os.
You could try flashing a different kernel there are many here both permissive and otherwise.
You could try to factory reset and see if it boots or press volume down and power and keep holding volume down to see if it boots into safe mode or not. It would be better though to know what version rom you were on and whether you chose the same when flashing after unsuccessful flashing of custom to. Most likely it could be a kernel or bootloader issue but that's only a guess based on similar scenarios but nothing for sure.

Sounds like your screen is broke. I'm no expert on this matter but if you tried good batteries and you report you hear it booting up but no display. I hate to say but that's what it seems like.
Do you have or have access to an MHL cable? I'd say try to use one to mirror your screen on TV. If it displays on TV but not device, then that confirms the lcd backlight isn't working.
Either that or something so wrong with software that display isn't working.

Oh wait, if you boot into download mode and you don't have screen, then something is broke

After successfully flashing the latest stock ROM with Odin, are you performing a factory wipe before booting the phone for the first time?

Flash TWRP after you flash stock and immediately try to boot into recovery before the first ever boot, then wipe everything.

You are unchecking auto reboot in Odin? You are using the correct button combination to enter recovery?

Yes i did that several times...power button volume up and main button below the screen...i flashed twrp recovery right now after flashing stock firmware...wit no use....only download mode whic i can enter....foes that mean the phone is brick?but it can flash firmware successfuly every time i flash stock firmware it gives PASS....
Is there any custom rom can be flashed via odin?
Looks like you are doing every right and it could be a bad memory chip in the phone.
I think the last hope would be to take the phone to a shop with a riff or octopus box and have them force flash the phone. If that doesn't solve the problem, memory chip is probably defective.
Thanx for everyone who provided his help, knwoledge and experience to solve my issue.
Appreciate it from my heart????
Have you solved the problem ? If yes can tell us what did the trick ?
Thanks,

Hi Alitaleb,
I read back the posts, and it seems you have a problem close to mine (not exactelly the same but similar..) see here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help/help-understanding-to-wipe-device-t3679424
I was thinking of something about your problem, are you sure that the volume button is not defective ? I explain myself:
when you want to go to the recovery mode, the volume up has to be pushed, if the up button does not respond correctly then you may think you push up but in fact it is the down position that is detected by your phone...
I would suggest you to dismantle the back of your phone and check if there is no some dirt or simply broken part in the volume button..
Cheers,
