Bell HTC Desire Z, currently running CM 7.02.
Whenever I receive a picture message I get a text with a blank thumbnail and a download button. I click download, the button turns into 'downloading...' then after about 10 seconds it says failed to download, and then turns back to a download button.
This problem has been there in CM 7 RC4, CM 7, and now CM 7.02.
I also have flashed MattedBlues if that contributes to the problem at all.
Wiped data/cache flashed CM 7 RC4, flashed MattedBlues -> MMS not working
Wiped data/cache flashed CM 7, flashed MattedBlues -> MMS not working
Just flashed CM 7.02 without wiping data/cache -> MMS not working
I tried a search but nothing really came up. Anyone know how to fix this?
Finally got it to work! APN settings where wrong.

I'm having a similar problem. Would you happen to know what you changed in the APN settings to get it to work?

Flashed from DamageR_DCG v4.6 Eris Port to CYANOGEN V8 THEMED.
I wish I would have read this post before proceeding further with f*ing up my phone.
I think the following fix would have worked if I hadnt started flashing other roms to try to fix the issue myself.
["-Second: if unresponsive and showing 3G signal bypass setup by touching all four corners of the screen starting with the top left and going clockwise. At the bottom touch the screen just above the language and emergency call buttons."]
After flashing CYANOGEN V8 THEMED, I waited for it to start up and load. Unexpectedly, there was an android icon presented in the middle of the screen, with a hand directing me to touch it. I touched the android icon, it turned white, but that was the end of it. As soon as I let go of the screen, the icon would turn into its normal green and black color scheme. So i touched everywhere, haha, and rotated the screen and continued to press every available space on my phone's screen. I gave up and thought the rom, itself, was "broken". So I tried flashing my previous rom, and the trouble began. I am now experiencing an error message with each rom I try to use. It says "Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close button". The error message listed above pops up whenever the phone starts, neither HTC Sense nor Nexus Home loads. I could use some help.
I will try looking for a newer rom version to flash, but I dont think it will work. ;(
**Update - Problem Solved - I did a factory reset/wipe, Dalvik-cache wipe, and proceeded with flashing a new rom.
**Thanks, gnarlyc, it was the Dalvik-cache wipe that fixed the problem.
Go back into recovery and wipe data and dalvik-cache and flash another ROM.

Okay, I wiped, and am now flashing CELB Froyo2.2.
I will update this post when it is finished.
Cyanogen tazz needs the Google apps flashed right after you flash the rom.
Then you have to wait a minute or so for the 3g icon to appear. Then you can tap the android and proceed with setup.
Tazz v1.0 is super stable and fast. I would try this rom again but make surer you flashed the right Google apps package.

Anytime. Been there myself. Not too long ago either.
Hi, kinda new to root and all that goes with it, but I flashed first CM10 stable, and then a few days later AOKP MS2, both on my Nexus 4. I did a full cache wipe before flashing each one. Either way, both were not able to fully receive MMS. In the notification pane up top I'd get a notification I got a text but it'd show blank on the drag down and when in the messaging app nothing shows up. On the other end of multiple phones it'd show it was sent successfully. After flashing back to stock rom 4.3 everything came through a few hours later as well as the MMS I had sent to people. Any idea on what to do to keep CM/AOKP and have MMS? Thanks in advance for any help!
Hey, I normally wouldnt make a help thread. But Im at a total loss of ideas on how to fix this. My Nexus 4 has been running on AOKP 4.3 nightlies for a week or so perfectly fine. Today out of the blue I lost signal all together, so I went through the normal steps of checking if everything is in order. I tried to go into my apn settings to check those, but I just got a force close upon opening my mobile networks settings. I tried using the *#*#INFO#*#* menu to check my phone settings in there, but that force closed as well.
So I flashed a clean ROM and tried to check my APN settings. I was able to get into the APN menu this time, but when I would try to save an APN and it would just exit the setup screen without saving an APN. When I try and change the setting to anything (for example, GSM, WCDMA, etc) in the *#*#INFO#*#* menu it instantly resets to "UNKNOWN" I have tried flashing multiple new radios, and new kernels and nothing has worked. I'm totally lost.
Any help would be enormously appreciated. All of my previous phones were CDMA phones so I cant really just swap my sim into an old phone to use.
EDIT: Problem was resolved. If you find this thread because you have a similar problem, download the factory image from Google's site and flash that. That fixed it for me.

I've tried flashing a few of the radios from that thread with the same result every time, unfortunately.
Currently what ROM you're using? If you're on nightlies you should be aware that it isn't stable. I suggest you restore your nand backup if you have one.

Im currently on an AOKP nightly. Im trying to flash back to stock but Im having trouble getting it to do that for some reason too. Its acting like its been flashed, but it always boots up into AOKP again. Trying my hand at another toolkit before I start attempting to do it manually.

Flashing back to a factory image fixed the issue. Thank you!
Don't forget to make a backup. By the way I just got my 4.3 with CM 10.2 working with franco kernel.
Ok, I was running PA 4 Beta3 but was having problems with the screen delay so thought I would completly wipe my phone, fresh install PA and install the mini Gapps (I had prev installed the stock but didnt want all the apps)
Here is where it started to go wrong, Phone would not start ptopery, would get past animation screen but that was it, would then just crash with small date in corner.
Wiped and flashed just the Rom and this also failed.
Wiped and installed 3.99 and this seem to work but then the wizard crashed and I had to power down.
Booted back up into recovery and dirty flashed Beta 3 again and this seemed ok. Flashed Stock Gapps and rebooted.
All apps have installed again, titanium back has been run but I still have no network what so ever.,
If i go into settings, more, vpn, mobile networks I get 'unfortunately settings has stopped'.
I have dirty flashed again but still have same problem.
I cant do a complete wipe and install again as need to get out of the office, however with the prev problems I had I am weary about doing so.
Can anyone shed any light on any of the issues i had at all?

Sounds like a radio issue. If you are running 3.99, you need the radio for 4.3 which I do believe 3.99 is based on. You need the radio for KitKat when running the new betas.

This is the easiest way to flash a new radio http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607221
If you went up to a 4.4 based rom and it changed your radio to .97 or .98 then you'll need to flash back to a .84 or before.
to go back to 4.3.
I think I basically said that. Sometimes I believe in not holding hands and let the guy/gal do some of the, legwork.

Thank you every one. I have reverted back to my recovery and all is well but I don't understand why when I flash the ROM ad gapps it happens. My recovery is the same ROM and gapps. No idea.
Oh well stuck with the screen delay for now!

I dont think that the problem was the rom... Maybe the kernel... In this case you can try the lastest franco kernel :good:
If the problem reappear I will flash the Franco kernel
Well with Franco kernel Wi-Fi doesn't open at all...
