Redemption Rom Off Topic Thread

This is for users and contributors to HeyItsLou's awesome Redemption Rom! Collaborate, contribute or just kick back here and shoot the breeze while waiting for a new release!

We're all adults here...
I'm not gonna say keep it clean, but please keep it respectful, no flaming will be tolerated! This is a lounge for users of Redemption ROM to share ideas and laughs. Remember, we're here to reach new heights as a community not tear each other down! ^_^

Also, I will be posting all my boot animations that I do here at the same time I send 'em to the various dev's. That way you don't HAVE to wait for them to post them on the individual sites. So far, all I have up is modified versions of the BIOS boot animation for the Incredible, one for Redemption and one for Virtuous, but any new projects will be going up there as well.

Never posted before but this looks like a good place to start. Excellent ROM!!! Now back to work.

I saw that the Virtuous rom will be possibly replacing the htc sms and dialer with vanilla. Lou, do you think we might have the option for that in the future release of this rom. The vanilla sms and dialer are so much faster and more user friendly in my opinion. It would be sweet if we could have a flashable option for this on the next rom. Great work so far!

No official word yet on this one way or the other. I'm guessing maybe it was back-burnered but I'm more than happy with KxK BFS#5 until it gets squared away lol

Devoted Chrome browser user here, but has anyone else tried IE9?
I was a Firefox user for years, but it got too bloated & slow - Switched to Chrome - it flies, small footprint.. blah blah...
I d/l IE9 with perhaps too high of expectations... hated it.... slooooowwwww......
Anyone else have IE9 thoughts?

Put on your flame suit man. Search around. There's threads bout it and even a 3.0 rom for mt4g that's been used by many. Even I gave the rom a go.

3.0 isnt capable for our phones,its only for tablets..Royalhoney isnt a daily driver rom but the new flavor thats comin is Ice Cream Sandwich & I believe thats 3.1 & will be capable for phones & tablets.. Go to androidcentral.com,phandroid.com sites like that & u will find info...Google is ur friend also use him..

Rom advice

Hi, sorry for the nature of this post but I am on a military installation that has like noooo internet speed... so everything takes me forever, otherwise I would research myself. Anyways... what is the best sense rom out at the moment. One that had good radio in it and that is stable! Please someone sum some things up for me please? Thank you.

I'm running royal panache v1.1 right now. Is a great sense rom. I never really liked sense but this rom is so good I have it as my daily.
Is very stable and has all the goodies. Its even great on battery life. As for the radios, you can install the latest and with this rom it gives you great speeds.

Im runnin royalginger v2.1,fast speeds,great battery life,no complaints here lol

That's not a Sense ROM...
Personally, I don't see any reason not to have the latest version of Sense, so check out Virtuous Fusion!

Awesome... From what I read about that Virtuous ROM it isn't scaled properly in everything..? And editing all those APN's seems troublesome, but i think I will try it...can you post some screenies of what it looks like for you?!?!?!
I just don't want to DL a ROM that is going to require me to download multiple updates because my connection speed is SOOOO SLOW!!..

[Q] Most stable ROM/s for myTouch 4G?/stability same as stock ROMs

Hey guy Im new to root family & few days ago I downgrade & rooted my Glacier.I was thinking to flash rooted verison of GB.But now I wanna flash new good rom.So im asking,what is/are most stable rom for mytouch 4g?I see different people have different issues from roms.But I would like to know which is/are most stable rom?I like sense.But not essential.
P.S.
Must compitable for games like stock one.It will be great if you post the full name of rom or link to that

AOSP --> CM7

Ahh, i agree to an extent. For sense, it kinda depends on what you like. Virtuous Unity runs on Sense 3.0. If you ask me, i would tell you to choose the DARKSIDE sense which runs on sense 3.5 and has beats audio. I understand that u are new and everything but i fully suggest that u give a fair share of roms a try. Remember, make a nandroid backup of your faves...expecially of stock, thats very important because its most stable. Here's a quick list of roms that i suggest you try.
STABLE:
MySense (Stock Gingerbread)
MIUI
CM
Virtuous Unity
Virtuous Affinity or the DARKside Sense (both are pretty good and very similar)
Not Stable
Creamed Glacier (I highly recommend this rom)

CyanogenMod 7 (CM7), extremely stable for me, great battery life, highly compatible with apps. Maybe not as glitzy as sense from stock. I don't really remember what stock was like. It lasted all of 3 weeks or less a bit over a year ago.

Unsatisfied with CM7.Suggest another
Well,i flash CM7 & unsatisfied with it.So I went back to rooted froyo again.I don't like Adw launcher.Go is better than that.CM7 is fast.But it has bad radio I think.I got bad signals than froyo one.Also camera quality is not good.Only thing I like in CM is gallery app.What is the name of that app?
So guys,suggest me any good,stable rom exept CM.

The radio has absolutely nothing to do with the rom... and yyou could've just installed go launcher from the market.. and again camera is the same quality as before. Try a sense 3.0 rom

Don't bother, he didn't even give the rom a chance. He basically flashed it, looked at it and was like 'no me gusta'

I flashed rooted stock & installed Go launcher ex.I will go to Creamed Glacier when it become stable(camera).Thank you all for your help!

well, I think that it all depends on your preference. But if I had to choose which ones were the most stable, I would say either Virtuous Unity, CM7, or MIUI. CM7 is stock android, with a bunch of tweaks. Virtuous Unity is a straight-up Sense 3.0 rom, without any tweaks. MIUI is kind of it's own thing, you would have to go look it up. I only use MIUI when I get bored of using android ROMs, because MIUI is so different; it's like your not even running Android

Reccomended Fast AOSP GB Setup

Hi was wondering what you guys are running for AOSP ROMs, kernels, and scripts. I'm a Sense junkie, I'm just sick of unnecesary lag here and there, just looking for the fastest most stable setup. Thanks guys
