The android market force closes, and I can't install or update apps anymore... any fix for this? How to re-install?

Go rom manager and fix permissions or get gapps and pull the vending.apk out of it and push it into the phone
Thanks, the fix permissions on the ROM Manager worked. And I thought I had to wipe as suggested by other forums.... What a relief... hehe

I am not a noob but not a dev. I been flashing roms for few years. So anyways my market is not letting me download anything. I have tried clearing cache. I tried clearing data. I tried flashing to my backup and that didn't even work.
Oh but wait, some apps do auto load. AND SOME ARE PAID APPS!!! THAT I PAID FOR. its totally weird. It's like the market has banned me or something. Anyone see this before or know a solution?

I did that. I fully used the ROM first. Oh well I went to my original backup ( Elegant Blue Themed Orange Sense ) but thanks. All the other Roms and backups have the problem. I bet I have some UID problem and I need to wipe SD as well.

Try going into the application settings and clearing the cache and data for the market. Then reboot into recovery and fix permission.

I installed the latest MIUI nands Both Lady V18B and NDT V19.1 for the HD2 and I'm having the same issue with both roms. When you start Google maps then go to Directions and choose end point, contacts it gives you a force close. Is anyone having the same issue or found a solution?

Thanks, I just tried that and it still gave me the ForceClose.
Hello , I've been flashing roms and tonight I was flashing cm7 nightlies and gapps evertime I open market I get force close. I taught it was the rom so I installed royal ginger rom samething when I open market out it force closes itself . Please help me thanks.

Just try the new market 3.1.3 . you can download it here.
May be this will solve your problems......

I just installed virtuous unity now the market works. Howcome it didn't on cm7 nightlies or royal ginger ?

It does work on CM7 but you just car across data issues. In that case all you do is clear the data for vending and relog back on. If you still have problem after that then full wipe is recommend (system -w).

I downloaded Genius Button zip in another thread then flashed it. I've also run 'fix permission' in Rom Manager. But it still force closes. I then tried adb method still no go. Anyone with the same problem figured it out?
Was this the one for FroYo or GB?

I was using MIUI by TDJ and the Weather / News app was extremely useful. I have switched to InsomMIUI and was wondering if anybody has ported this app to other MIUI builds. Is there a way to get it on InsomMIUI? I am a noob so cannot post in the InsomMIUI development forum.
I've never used his build, what app is this? I'll look if you reply and see what it is.

That's the genie app/widget. Its an aosp app. You can search for it, or maybe someone can upload it. You should be able to just install it like any other app.
I haven't seen or heard anything from the miui weather app in a while.

Try to put GenieWidget apk in system/app direction or put in same folder in .ziped rom and install him when you next time update you miui.
I tried both suggestions and unfortunately neither worked. It still keeps force closing

Ok, loot this topic or this. If not help delete Genie and try to install this file from recovery.
Finally worked after trying several different versions. I did have to move to the system/app file then fixed permissions. Thanks for all the help folks and for the awesome continued support for MIUI on MT4g LL.
