Hello! I currently have a Motorola Milestone X (the non-verizon Droid X) on carrier Bluegrass Cellular.
I was running Liberty 2.0 just fine, everything was awesome. Then when I saw Gingerbread Liberty, I immediately bought Liberty Toolbox donate. When I flashed GB, however, my data stopped working.
I SBF'd back to 2.2 then put my carrier's stock ROM back on it. Data still doesn't work. I went to them and they tried to fix it, and it just won't work. Can anyone please help me?
This may be one of the rare situations where you are going to need to get a warranty replacement. I'm not exactly sure what happened
Flashing a sbf usually leads to the modem being flashed as well, which is overwriting your carrier specific modem. Usually smaller carriers are willing to flash your phone back to stock if you ask.
If you flashed the GB ROM you got the Verizon baseband.. the leaked SBF you can find for bluegrass may not have the modem file.. So you'll need them to flash it back and reset all the QPST parameters for their network..
Verizons baseband WILL NOT work on non-verizon carriers
Figure out who your carrier is partnering with like up here GCI is with Sprint, and ACS is with Verizon and that might help like if you know you could try and flash one of those ROMS.
Hope that helps

First off thanks for any and all help it is much appreciated.
I am trying to run MIUI 1.10.07 on the new defy base. In order to do so I have to sbf to .602 which is a Verizon sbf. I am an Alltel customer not a Verizon. I am currently on Verizon SBF .602 and I have also went in and changed my user activation codes, extended NAM, and SID/NID pair to match all of my alltel settings.
This is not making my phone active once I do the restart on the alltel network. Can a phone work on Alltel with a Verizon SBF base? If so what setting am I missing to make this phone use the alltel network and not the Verizon network?
I changed my MIN, IMSI, MDN, CDMA system ID, CDMA network, channels A and B, and SID/NID 1 to match exactly what I had on alltel.
This is the only way to upgrade to latest MIUI version. I was hoping I could do this if not then I guess I will sbf back to stock Alltel.
Can I do a baseband Version update? http://forums.miui.us/showthread.ph...0-but-always-stuck-at-M-on-boot-after-install
If so how?
Just ordered my wife a G2, it is unlocked however it is the AT&T variant and we are on Tmo. I have read that someone took a Tmo rom and made it possible to flash this to the AT&T model along with the KK baseband so that we can use Tmos wifi calling. However I would like to know if I can simply just flash a Tmo stock image and flash the KK baseband if this will work or am I looking into this all wrong?
This is where I read about the Tmo on AT&T rom:
http://phoneprouser.com/lg-g2-rom-that-supports-wifi-calling-on-att/1007/
Can anyone tell me if the ROM mentioned in the link above is this the latest ROM for the G2? Thank you in advance.
Side Question, if I want to flash Cyanogenmod and still want to retain the wifi calling can I flash the Tmo rom along with the aforementioned KK baseband?

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE AND COMPLETE NO GO, FLASHING A FACTORY IMAGE FOR A DIFFERENT MODEL CAN HARD BRICK YOUR DEVICE, IN FACT I'D PRETTY MUCH GUARANTEE IT!!! GO INTO THE ATT DEVELOPMENT THREAD AND FIND SAID T MOBILE ROM FOR YOUR DEVICE, FLASH THAT IF YOU WANT TO. As an answer to the side question there is no way to retain wifi calling on cyanogenmod, especially on a non tmo device. Finally as for the baseband find out what baseband the respective ROMs need (the tmobile one for ATT G2s or the CM build you choose to use).
Hi all,
I own a SM-A500M phone. The phone has unlocked stock rom (original rom is not modified by carrier) and updated trough OTA to android 5.0.2. I know 4g does work in my phone because I could use it with my prior carrier, but I recently changed to CLARO and with this new provider I don't have 4g acces, only H+ and it is really slow and laggy connection.
I know the following:
1) Sim card is a compatible 4g nano sim
2) The carrier CLARO has 4g coverage where I live
3) The phone is not the problem
4) I have tried all the usual FAQS (APN's, select LTE in config, reboot) with no success.
5) The phone's variant is right (latinoamerican brand), so It can't be due to frequencies or bands problems.
I asked for help in CLARO and told me that this has happened amongst users with unlocked phones (that is, rom not modified with CLARO's bloatware), and the solution is to flash CLARO's rom. But the problem with this solution is that CLARO hasn't released android 5.0.2 update (and I think it will never update) and I really like android 5 and wouldn't want to return to 4.4.
So, is it true? Is there a chance to fix this problem with minor tweaks? What is the problem here?
Since I recently acquired this phone, I would prefer not lossing warranty, so rooting and custom roms might not be an option.
Thanks in advance. Kind regards!
You could try to flash their rom and check if it works. Then you can be 100% sure that hardware/chip/network provider are fine. I have the same phone on since last week, but still did not go to get the chip at a movistar office. Maybe you need to activate the chip and they refuse to do it unless you get their rom. Maybe just getting their rom, and then flashing back the updated stock one or a CM or whatev would be enough.
Before I rooted my verizon galaxy s5 I was able to use ATT sim cards but the phone would not get any service whatsoever with a tmobile sim or metro pcs sim. Everyone i spoke to at least was able to connect to the tmobile or metro pcs network, even if they were having data issues...but I was not even able to get a network signal. Finally, I rooted the phone and am using a tmobile rom thinking that may help. But no luck. For some reason my phone will not register itself on tmobile or metro pcs, Not even to just connecto to the network to make phone calls. I tried 2 different tomible roms and i think an att rom and no luck whatsoever. Anybody else experience this issue? Is there a root function or service menu that I need to access to enable the proper band? Is rooting the phone even going to change anything? Makes no sense how every other verizon s5 out there has no problem connecting to tmobile or metro but I have the only one. Ive scoured the forums and have yet to find any answer....thoughts? Oh, I also tried every APN settings combination imaginable. Even other carriers just because I was getting nowhere with the tmobile and metro APNs.
Quite a lot of your thread made absolutely no sense, so I'm not sure if this will help.
Look for a tar.md5 that contains the stock modem partition for the Verizon S5, and flash it through Odin.
Are you bootloader unlocked? I would just flash a generic klte rom, like Cyanogenmod, instead of flashing an ATT or T-Mobile rom.

According to a few people i spoke with the root for verizon s5 can only accept TW roms. And to clear up anything that doesnt make sense. my verizon s5 will not get any service with tmobile or metro. Works fine with att. So i decided to root. After rooting still no luck. However, before I rooted I was getting no bars at all. After rooting I was actually getting service bars but still would not get any actual service. I tried every APN setting I could find and still no luck. Thats all. I will try your advice as far as flashing the tar.md5 and let you know.

There was a bootloader unlock exploit released - it allows any rom to be flashed. It's been in the top development posts for weeks. Go check that out, and you can flash cyanogenmod.
I actually am in a similiar situation except I am already on CM13 using a previously Verizon S5, I just started Tmobile service yesterday and in general I can make calls but data is rather inconsistent. Example right now when I make it call it falls down to 3g (Normal) but when I disconnect it tries to connect to H+ then 3G but all of them don't supply it data so it just swaps around 3G LTE and H+ and I have to airplane mode on/off to fix it. So this person may still have issues using CM13. I did already go over the APN information with people from TMobile and from post around the web. Does anyone think that flashing the Tmobile s5 modem stuff will fix this?
you just need to get the correct APN settings

I've tried the correct son settings. It didn't work. I used the settings found online for T-Mobile. I called T-Mobile. Non of the settings worked. I flashed back the the stock rom. No joy. flashed a verizon s5 rom again. No joy. I am starting to think that this is the only verizon s5 that won't allow t to register on T-Mobile's network.
I have a Verizon HTC 10, which I have converted to US Unlocked and run LeeDroid, which mostly works, but it requires me to dial *#*#4636#*#* to select radio after every reboot.
I plan to stay on LeeDroid ROM, so don't need or want to take OTAs. I just want everything to work, including Samsung gear for my watch, advanced calling (HD calling mainly), visual voice mail and Android pay might be nice.
Now that Verizon firmware for nougat is available and I could convert back, dues it make sense? Is there any advantage to running US Unlocked or Verizon version? LeeDroid ROM provides everything for Verizon to fully work (or will very soon), so is it just fine to install the latest Verizon firmware and radios onto the US Unlocked version?
If you're just gonna use the phone on VZW, common wisdom states you should stick with VZW software, especially if/when Nougat is now available.

That's not required...LeeDroid has always run perfectly well on Verizon firmware and not needed any dialed codes like that.

The latest version of LeeDroid has Advanced Calling working for most Verizon users. For some reason, it's not working on mine, but there are reports of it working perfectly for a handful of other folks.

It's been discussed on here before (can't remember which thread, sorry) that it's always better to use Verizon firmware + radio when on the Verizon network. It's tweaked to work the best with Verizon's towers and signal.
It might be overkill, but since you are coming from US Unlocked firmware, I'd recommend using the full Verizon RUU and starting from scratch. That way, when you flash LeeDroid, you don't have any funky remnants of the old setup.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be 'sticking with' VZW software, it would be re-converting back to VZW software, which isn't so cut and dried.
Posted from my phone, forgive any spelling errors.

Actually, no, it doesn't work perfectly well on Verizon if your using nougat firmware, the codes are required.
However, it does seem it is all working great now that we have VZW firmware for nougat, so I will probably convert back now.
I just wanted to see if there was any other reason to stay on US Unlocked, but it seems there isn't.
Off to find the no wipe firmware now.
Thanks for all the feedback.
