Hi guys,
as promised i'm starting a new thread on S150 Android Head Unit made by Roadnav (Winca)
You can easily come back to original firmware simply using original package posted below
Android 2.3.4 Firmware for S150
Boot loader installation instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2346611&d=1382593371
Original Firmware installation instructions
You need Linux and a blank micro sd card
There are 2 directories in zip file:
i802_sd_recovery
SD card instruction
"SD card instruction" directory contains boot loader and boot loader installation script on SD card.
You should read readme.txt instructions (it's chinese, however google translate is your friend).
Then move i802_sd_recovery contents into winca directory on sd card.
Unmount sd card from your linux workstation and put it in i802 gps slot (left one).
Turn on i802 unit and update should begin.
If not, try holding reset and power button with sd card inserted for few secs.

Thanks

Far too curious. Far too cowardly.
Heh. Still too chicken to try it myself.
Couple of questions :
1) What doesn't work (that you know of) ?
2) Is the TV-Tuner software present ? Are all Video inputs available and working ?
3) rooting/framaroot still working ?
It would be great to see a small video of a brave soul who's flashed his S150 with this firmware, just to see how it acts (boot time ? Radio App ? Is the hidden BT menu still present ? Stability issues -bound to be there in a Beta release- ?)
Thanks for sharing this !

1) One thing is not working correctly is color button chooser. It selects everytime Orange.
2) Tv tuner is working (my unit has dvb-t)
3) Not tried yet, however I doubt it will work.
I flashed back original firmware because i don't like unfinished things
However this new firmware is very usable.
Can you give me a howto install the Rom?

Thank you, I will download the firmware and probably I will try. It could be useful to have a step-by-step procedure to install this SW and, in case of problem, roll back to the original one.

Any way to download this WITHOUT using their download manager ? I never install any proprietary managers, don't trust them, and this site does not seem to offer an option. Can somebody more adventurous make a copy on another site ? I can fire a Virtual Machine, I know, but maybe somebody already did it.Thanks.
I will upload it today in a other mirror.

Agreed.
While the steps in the previous recovery weren't really rocket science, a fully discribed step-by-step would be a usefull addition to many of us.
And a rundown on this versions' behaviour in terms of boot time, working speed and stability, rootability .... too. For example, did anything change in terms of behaviour in Play Store ? Added compatibility with other Navi software which gave sound problems under 2.3 ?
But also a bit more out of the box : For example, I needed the Root to enable Adhoc. I know Adhoc is pretty much broken in 2.3, but I thought it's fixed starting 4.x. Another example : Torque supports USB OBD2 interfaces starting Android3.x . So it should work under this 4.x too, no ?
So many questions. Exiting times ahead, I think.
Can someone link me to a place that sells this unit? Ive tried ebay and aliexpress but dont know which one I should be looking at.

Hi guys,
as promised i'm starting a new thread on S150 Android Head Unit.
This first post contains a new OS beta release based on android 4.0.3 I found somewhere
Keep in mind this is a beta release and it's not yet 100% complete.
However most funcionalities are OK and it's usable.
You can come back to original firmware simply using the previus package i posted on

Do you need a standard "2DIN" unit or a kit for a specific car ? I bought my unit (kit for SantaFe 2013) from this seller: http://stores.ebay.ca/ULikeShop?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 ; They have now kits for many different car types (and a standard 2 DIN).They shipped really fast the unit arrived in 5 days.
If yoor car is old and just needs a standard 2DIN, this is it: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6-2-Android-...Video_In_Dash_Units_w_GPS&hash=item4d0d88e507
If your car is newer and you can find it on the list better get a kit, it will include the proper faceplate, cable harness (so you don't need to cut cables) and the CANBUS adapter so you can use steering wheel controls from your car. I recommend to find and order a proper rearview camera, the unit has the inputs but does not come with a camera. There are many on eBay look for one which can easy mount (again you may find one which mounts on your car for example on the bulb place of your license plate ) or some general one. Get a CCD one they are better than CMOS ones. Any rearview camera will work, as standard composite video signal is used (goes directly to the LCD not through OS).
This unit also support a front DVR camera, but to be able to use it with the unit software you need to get the one they specify, there is only one Front DVR camera supported, is this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Car-DVR-Came...899?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f28b5d543 available on eBay or aliexpress from different sellers (I don't use one, but may be useful).
I attached also a few pictures with different screens, if it looks like any in picture (and has a Samsung SoC) is most likely an S150.On this seller at least, look for the units with the "Orbitz" screen (attached) these are all S150. Other sellers may show other screens, the one with the clock is the main screen. If you see other main screens (more standard Android look) they probably are other models, not the one discussed here.
Manual and install diagram
For the ones which do not have the unit but are thinking to buy one, I attached the manuals and install diagram.

Manufacturer (hidden) settings
Good to remember. There is a hidden menu where you can set a few things, like the Radio region. Most important for me (thanks kaween) was to set the CANBUS type. Without it steering wheel controls did not work, even if I had a car kit. You go in there:
go to BT (phone) dialer and dial #*98723 + call.
For me I had to select the second available bus type from the list. Probably the default setting (first one) means disabled (I don't read Chinese, somebody who reads, may confirm). As the list is long you may need another bus type, depending of your car. This will work if you have a "kit" unit , for the standard 2DIN one you don't have a CANBUS adapter so will not work. After a factory default reset or a firmware update the settings go back to default (first selection for bus type and Europe for Radio). There are a few other settings available, if anybody plays with them please post. These settings or the way to get to them are not described in the manual.
If anybody plays with newer, beta firmware please check that the code is unchanged and you can still access these settings.
---------- Post added at 11:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 AM ----------
The device (at least original firmware) can be rooted with Framaroot ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276 ). After root install BusyBox from market also as many programs with root access require it. If somebody installed the 4.0 beta, try and see if Framaroot still works (or they closed the vulnerability used).
Bootloop?
Hello!
My S150 won't start up anymore. It's stuck in some kind of bootloop. I don't know what happened. It stops at the "Android" logo. But when I turn the volume knob or the volume on the steering wheel control the status bar drops down and shows the volume change. Is there a way to restore the unit? Pushing the reset button doesn't help. I have read the instructions for the bootloader installation using Linux but that is way to complicated for me I think.
Please help!

Turn on device pushing power button for few seconds.
It should start unit factory reset.
Recently I found this interesting Tool ... and I successfully flashed "Allminipc_ug802_RT8188_4.4_720p.img" (Kitkat version) on my MK802 III using Debian Linux 7.5!
Regards, mistersixt.
In case someone is interested: I successfully installed the rk3066 drivers for WinXP using Moborobo, rooted the device with the kingo root tool, and I was able to installed the xposed framework 2.6, too, including XPrivacy, root cloak etc.
So I have a fully 4.4.2 running MK802 III with root access and Xposed framework!

Very interesting..Any chance you could share the firmware image file and also let us know how has it been so far...is it fast enough and does the Wifi and Camera (UVC drivers compatible) work w/ this ?
Also could you confirm if this is for MK802III and not MK802IIIS...
Cheers

It is the MK802III, and the stick is running fast and stable. Wifi is as bad as with 4.1 ... but I think this is a general (or hardware related) issue, I am using it with a USB to LAN adapter anyway.
Concerning the camera I have no idea.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I've just installed this firmware on my MK802III and it seems no audio video app is working properly. Youtube does not show any video or sound. Neither can I play youtube in the browser.
No streaming media player works either. Only the local media files are playing properly.
The playstore seems to take ages to install apps because of speed, however when I check the internet speed using speed testing app it gives a good enough speed of 7Mbps.
Also i've noticed that there the wifi network connections are getting dropped abruptly. The wifi connection itself seems to be OK but connection from apps such as Airdroid drop out and upload from my local machine via Airdroid takes ages w/ speeds in Kbps.
Can this be fixed please.
Thanks,
OP

can confirm, that works great on Measy U2A.
MK802IIIs up and running
Works brilliantly on my MK802IIIs. Wifi is strong and Bluetooth works out of the box. Already rooted and CWM recovery installed. Now its time for some Xposed magic! Anyone has an idea which XBMC version will run best on this?
I'm using the ROM from this thread http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player...73-full-1080p-modded-kit-kat-4-4-2-rk3066-rom
Super fast and stable, its like a new machine coming from the old JB ROM I had on there. I can actually use it now.
This ROM is for an Imito device but the MK802IIIS is identical hardware.
Few OC kernels in that thread to to play with.

Hi,
The rom seems nice but I just can't get it to run correctly on my MK802IIS. I just flashed the rom on this thread (V 1.1 ) without flashing a custom kernel. Just flashed the entire rom. And after the first boot, I see the apps update (the optimization screen) and then I'm stuck on the screen where there is an Android icon on the top with a blue bar underneath. This screen just keeps blinking and seems to be impossible to pass. I can access the settings, but I found impossible to activate wifi or lan.
Ozzy, you seem to have a MK802IIIS, did I miss something during the flashing? Do I need to flah a custom kernel after flashing the rom?

I just flashed the basic ROM with the unmodified kernel. I did try one of the OC kernels but it wasn't stable on my device.
The screen you mention doesn't sound familiar to me.
Did you do a full wipe?

Hi, thanks for your answer mate
Yeah I did a full wipe, that's why I don't understand what's happening to me. I see someone on the thread has the exact same problem, but doesn't precise on which device, so I preferred to ask you first, as we have the same device.
I'll just try the v.1.0, mabe that 1.1 version doesn't run on my key. Did you flash the 1.1 or the 1.0 ?
Hello
I know I am a bit off topic but this TV stick is based on the same CPU....Can somebody help me ?
I ordered this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dual-Core...g-/111655649656?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 and seller's understanding of the English language is very close to none
Can somebody tell me which webcam models does it support ?
I have just installed Allminipc_ug802_RT8188_4.4_720p on an MK802III. I have used it for an hour and installed all my apps etc.
Both sound and Wifi (Realtek) seems to work.
I've been using mine daily since I posted last time. It works fine except for some hick ups.
Sometimes during bootup it hangs with just 3 penguins on the screen.
And I'm running out of internal disk space all the time. I never did that on the official 4.2 even though I had many more applications installed then. Any ideas how to fix that?
Help please...

Its rooted just need to know how to UPGRADE THIS TERRIBLE DEVICE....
Hi fellows.
I've coded something using latest Yota SDK v3. Compilation does not give any error but the apk doesn't run on my Yota device and I think it's because the SDK v3 is not installed on it.
The details. As said, I compile successfuly using the SDK according actual instructions at yota web site, using:
dependencies
{
provided "com.yotadevices.libs.public:sdk:3.7.+"
}
(Which does not include the library onto the APK, yes, correct).
If I use the "false" condition at manifest file to do not require the library in the device <uses-library android:name="com.yotadevices.sdk" android:required="false"/> then the app is installed but it crashes saying the new Yota classes (like EpdIntentCompat and Epd are not found.
So I've deduced I don't have the library of the SDK v3 installed because if android:required="true" then I get the error INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY
My device is YD201 with Android 5.0 Build number LRX21M.5.0.0-HK1.1.124d (no system updates pending)
I read at Yota developer's web site that first requirement to use new v3 SDK is "1. Ensure that latest Android M software is installed;" and I assumed it was only at Android SDK but then you can target/install the App on Android 5.0, mainly because Android M is not yet released for Yota ¿?
So, what can I do?
Ps. BTW I would gladly code using SDK 2 but I can't find any documentation on Yota's site ¿?
Thanks!!
Heey, what are you making?
And well the documentation says it: you need android marshmallow for it to work. Your HK version phone will not update automatically to it. You would have to follow a guide to first get to 1.1.134 RU while keeping radio/modem unchanged and then install the latest marshmallow update. Thats what I did. But the process can be difficult and dangerous if you are not used to flashing phones.
Hi!
Well, I'm used to flash ROMs but I expect it will be automatically updated at some point, I hope after a while the MM updated will be rolled to other versions of YD201 than just RU (since I received the 5.0 as well). Anyway, I will manually flash it if not, no problem.
I've made an app and widget to display all notifications on EPD, which I miss on 4.4/5.0 but I think it will be useless on new MM version since it is already included as I've read, so...

Ok, I answer myself: yes, with Android 6.0 MM it works, the SDK v3 is included here. I've sideload updated my device to MM and it works now.

Great!
Hi,
a week ago I bought the following MK809IV TV stick and I bricked it without making a backup.
I need your help to find the right firmware for it.
External packaging is labeled MK809IV with a red slider.
Board version: H122V1.4 0422 without a NAND chip.
Label on the back: RK29_809_V1.0 221 # - HXB_19060601
Processor: RK3229
Board: rk30board
GPU: Mali 400 MP
RAM: 2Gb
ROM: 8Gb
WiFi: RTL8723bs
Original firmware was based on:
Version: Android 7.1.2
Build: hx322x_box-userdebug...
kernel version: 3.10.104
I tried to flash dozens of firmware, and the only one that actually works is:
rk3229_7.1_box_MX4VB_SSV6051p_SpecTek_flash-update_20171209
but it shows only 1Gb of RAM and does not have the WiFi.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks and regards.
Ok guys, finally I found a working solution for this TV Stick.
Let me share my solution:
Basically, as mentioned in the first post, I found a working firmware with no wifi and just 1Gb of ram: rk3229_7.1_box_MX4VB_SSV6051p_SpecTek_flash-update_20171209
So I continued to search for a different firmware and I found this one:
G809_3229_L_2G_8723_20180517_1451_2018070601
Unfortunately also this last one is not able to boot, but what I though is why don't try to flash this last firmware anyway and using the bootloader from the previous one?!!
So I have extracted the Loader, uboot and trust images from the first one (rk3229_7.1_box_MX4VB_SSV6051p_SpecTek_flash-update_20171209) and flashed over the already flashed second one (G809_3229_L_2G_8723_20180517_1451_2018070601) using RK_Android_Tool v.2.3.9.
Steps are:
1. Flash G809_3229_L_2G_8723_20180517_1451_2018070601 image using BatchTool and selecting "Restore".
2. Make a short with a paper clip to the pins 6-7 and plut the USB in the OTG port
3. Load the Working images: Loader, uboot, trust and parameter files to RK_Android_Tool v.2.3.9
4. Start the flashing
First boot required about 10 minutes.
The archive includes all the needed software for flashing, the firmware and the extracted working images for the bootloader.
Hope it can help others!
Enjoy!

Hi, I have the same device and I want to ask, shorting 6-7. What do you mean. Where and how to find these pins. How do I start flashing. I can ask you for a more detailed procedure. well thank you. when i held the reset button and connected via usb to pc so nothing happened. Thank you.
wow and cheers Found my "piece of crap^^" in a cupboard and just recognized, that google-login not been working anymore - so i decided to look for some "updates" .... theres really not only one ROM for it after 1 day of searching :/ ... tried out ARMBIAN - only 1GB ram recognized and only 1,2Ghz and nice to see Linux on it but Wifi too unstable and even with ethernet hard to use .... tried out Librelec - most plugins not working here in germany ... last but not least i tried out your courious method - and it works ... but had an 7.1 preinstalled and now dowgraded ... but working
Isn't it possible to match that two parts together in one ROM ? and maybe with a newer Kernel ?
If somebody finds a other working ROM for a RK3229 MK809IV 2+8 pls post here :/ - i'll have a look in some years again i guess
Nearly 4 years passed i'm still the only one, who has to thank you very much dear Goolpone ?!
K - n good morning^^ ... spent my night by seeing Programs not really loading and crashing ... rejoiced too early :/ Seeker (Soulssek client for Android) seems to be the only usefully working App :/ .. and the laggiest lags i've ever seen on a computing device the whole night long .... reflashing ARMBIAN now as the final state of my poor stick ... you can nicely watch the lags in system monitor graphs there and afterall it's not too bad .... but only for museum purposes^^ anyways regards to everyone stomping over here
... maybe last comment - Telegram working nice at ARMBIAN ... at least you can read your papers with it ... anyways armbian seems to be the only usefull thing you can do with that poor device ...
I've been through maybe 50 threads, as much as I appreciate the custom ROMS. Can someone give a final answer to my burning question..
Is there a working ROM out there, android 7.0 or greater that actually works without any problems whatsoever?
All i see are projects, with one fault or another. That you need to flash Google Apps, or sound only works with a headset for example.
All i want is 1 single file, use my ODIN tool, let it flash my Samsung A3 A300FU to <= Android 7.0 while i take a **** and when I'm back, everything is done.
Is it possible?
