Root 351 . Please no more threads on this - Streak 5 General

Currently there are 3 options to root 351
1 and 2 u will need CWM recovery or streakmod recovery for both these methods.
3rd method is the fastest and easiest ( i have not tested myself but Televinken in post 9 has mentioned that it worked for him )
1. Flashing superuser.zip file ( here is the link - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JI3MMAN7 )
( MORE INFO HERE : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12177522&postcount=1 )
2.Update from a prerooted rom .
You will need to flash the update.zip of the 351 ROM
3. Gingerbreak - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
So please do not open another thread asking for how to root. There is plenty of info in this forum about how to install different recoveries. PLEASE USE SEARCH

Detailed Instructions
I agree there needs to be no more threads about rooting but I'm going to write detailed instructions here about how to do it by flashing superuser.zip because it took me way to long to compile information on how to do it because I had no knowledge of fast boot so here is a guide for beginners
1. Install the Dell Drivers for your Streak on your Computer (download from here ftp://ftp.dell.com/Handheld/R288920.exe)
2. plug your streak into the computer with usb debugging enabled and let the drivers install
3. unplug your streak from the computer
4. download and unrar multirecoveryflasher )(v.0.3) (thread is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000455)
5. place the unrared folder of multirecovery flasher in the root of your computer's harddrive(C:\)
6. download superuser.zip from the first post, rename it update.zip and place it on the root of your sdcard on your streak
7. open multirecoveryflasher.exe from the folder you unrared
8. turn off your Streak and place it in fast boot mode by holding the power and camera button at the same time
9. at the screen with text and what looks like a numpad touch the top right corner on the word fastboot
10. plug your streak into the computer and wait for your streak to say fastboot_mode
11. in multirecoveryflasher type 7 and hit enter and follow the prompts on the screen
12. when the screen on your streak goes blank hold the two volume buttons down
13. your streak should now be in recovery mode scroll down to the option update.pkg from sd card using the volume buttons and select it with the camera button
14. when the dell logo with the Alert triangle appears push the power button
15. streakmod recovery will now be running scroll to apply sdcard:update.zip and select it go thru the prompts and say yes you want to flash update.zip
16.make sure it says "Install from sdcard complete"
17.select go back
18.select reboot
19. Your done once your phone reboots you should have a rooted 351 build
Hope this Helps

QDL repair tool question`

Mod...if this belongs in the android development, please move it.
Does anyone know if you can put a different image file using the QDL tool?
I was wanting to play around with Steve's 1.5x version, but don't want to brick
the phone. The QDL tools is just too easy to use.
I had suggested the same thing at streaksmart forums and nobody seemed inclined to consider it. Looking through the files included with QDL it seemed like it might be possible to do this. Just based on file names, that is.
I am not a dev, just a newbie, so maybe smarter brains would be able to advise.
No smarter here but why not back up the tool you have now, then replace files on copy and try it. If it doesnt work just reuse original tool to get you back. Just out of curiosity what version did the tool give you initially. Cause mine put me to Steves 1.4.6 so if yours is different then its likely good to go.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I believe QDLTool validates the images before it will load them, so I don't think simply replacing them with the ones from DJ_Steve's rom would work .. then again, its not something I've tested yet either
Mine shows up as:
version 2.2
Baseband GAUSB1A130500-US
Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf
OEM GAUSB1A130500
Build 10688

Does anyone know who developed the QDL tool?
Perhaps we could get a sticky or something for that, if it can be developed
further. Once you get the driver problem worked out so windows 7 works with
it, it's pretty much a one click solution to flashing.

QDL drops you at Official 2.2 (build 10688) , BB 305. How did you get 1.4.6 out of it? Did you swap the update files as you suggested?
i believe this should answer your question
Beyond QDLTool
Using QDLTool will get you to a pre-release of v2.2. From here, you’ll want to upgrade to a newer release. The two options that people tend to choose from are to either go up to the official v2.2 ROM from Dell, or install DJ_Steve’s latest ROM.
Official ROM
If you want to go to the latest official ROM from Dell, simply set up your wifi connection, then go to Settings -> About Phone -> System updates. The latest update can then be downloaded and installed, updating your Streak.
DJ_Steve’s latest vanilla ROM
If you want to upgrade to the latest vanilla ROM (1.5.2), either from the QDLTool install or from the latest official build, you can follow these steps:
1.Go to the downloads section and grab StreakMod Recovery, the latest 1.5.2 Update and the AMSS for 1.5.1+ (the update and amss are under Roms, StreakMod Recovery is under Recovery)
2.Copy the update-1.5.2.zip file onto the root of your SD card.
3.Extract recovery.img from the StreakMod recovery and place it, along with amss.mbn, into the same directory as QDLTool (QDLTool has a copy of fastboot)
4.Shut down your Streak, then hold down the camera button (all the way) as you turn it back on.
5.The screen should turn white; press ‘Fastboot’ in the top right hand of the screen.
6.Plug in the USB cable – the Streak should now display ‘FASTBOOT_MODE’ at the bottom of the screen.
7.Open a command window and use ‘cd’ to change to the same directory as qdltool.
8.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
9.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
10.Run: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
11.As the Streak starts to reboot, hold down both volume buttons.
12.The recovery menu should come up; select option 2 (Upgrade)
13.A Dell logo and an exclamation mark should appear; press power or menu to open StreakMod’s main menu
14.Select ‘apply sdcard:update.zip’ then ‘chose zip on sd card’
15.Find the update-1.5.2.zip file, select it and apply the zip.
16.When the update finishes, press back a couple of times then select the option to reboot your Streak.
17.The Streak will restart. It will take about 5 minutes to complete, but you are now on the latest v1.5.2
Help!!
Hey I'm hoping that you guys can help me. So I picked up a streak from a buddy a few days ago its running 2.2 build 10688 and bb 305 I would like to go to dj steves 1.6.1 because I hear that's the best one to run and from what I have looked up it gets highest scores in bench mark. Anyways I dont have pc I have a mac, so I have 1.5.1 cause streakdroid says you have to do 1.5.1 then 1.6.1 next I have amss.mbn 1.5.1+ or whatever and the recovery.img. So my question is i open terminal and put the phone in fast boot and plug it in blah blah it says fast boot mode on the bottom left so I know it is connected but what do I put in the command as the path so I can access it to flash everything over because I have no clue what the path is and no clue how to figure it out because there is no how tos for a mac.. Thanks for whoever will help me id love to get this streak going fast and smooth! Thanks everyone!!! One other question I also need to know where to put the amss and recivery.img iv already put 1.5.1.zip and 1.6.1.zip on the root of my sd!! Thanks again!!!!!!!

[GUIDE] The Easiest Guide on Earth for Flashing ROMs on to your SGS i9000

The Easiest Guide on Earth for Flashing ROMs on to your SGS i9000
I dont really post all that much here, actually this is my first post but I love all the work everyone is doing here and wanted to be helpful in some way.
My contribution are in thousands in porn boards, so bear with me if I sound off topic or horny.
Here it is.
If you mess this up:
1. You probably need to stop jerking off and give it another try.
2. I am not responsible for any damages, even if it was my posts on other boards on which you were jerking off.
DISCLAIMER:
I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN ANY OF THIS. I HAVENT DEVELOPED ANY OF THIS, SO THANKS TO THOSE DRUNK HIGH PROGRAMMERS (LOVE Y'ALL). THROUGH THIS GUIDE ONE BLIND PERSON IS TRYING TO GUIDE MANY BLIND PEOPLE (BUT THIS SHOULD WORK)
I learnt this after bricking my phone. Thanks to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
Before you start, remember:
1. If the phone is doing something, dont interrupt, fiddle or turn it off - its rude. (oh and it will f*** you up big time)
2. Dont EVER EVER EVER open any zip / tar file unless this guide has told you to. If you do, delete that file and redownload it.
3. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step
Device:
SAMSUNG GALAXY S i9000 sold in ASIA (the tiny continent next to europe)
Running on JP6 Firmware, 2.2 Froyo STOCK - not rooted / modded.
ROM
The ROM used in this guide is by Darkyy (Amazing developer and architect, bad at making guides )
Its called "Darky's v8.0 Gingerbread Edition"
DOWNLOADS TO DO BEFORE STARTING:
Download the following files and keep em ready. Dont get confused reading all the names, its actually very simple.
FILES:
0. Z4 One click root setup file for your phone (Attached)
1. Samsung USB drivers (this is 32 bit one, google 64 bit)
**ttp:// drivers . softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86 . shtml
2. Darkyy's ROM (i.e. the main image file) - **ttp://www . multiupload . com/SHPR3TXLYB
3. ROM manager application for your phone (available in market)
STEPS:
0. Fire up your phone and go to Settings > Applications > "Unknown sources" must be checked / ON, if it isnt, turn it on. Then, scroll down in the same menu and go to Development > USB Debugging and make sure it is also checked / ON.
1. Extract on your PC and then copy the contents of "z4root.1.3.0.zip" to your phone and run it using a file manager ("Astro file manager" - install from Market / gay "My files" which is pre-installed on your phone by gay Samsung)
2. It will ask your permission to proceed with installation, press next and wait for it to say "Successfully installed". Then press "Close". Then go to the application and run it. It will give you two options - 1. Temporary root or 2. Permanent root. Select PERMANENT ROOT.
- now the phone will start to act funny and turn off without warning, reminding you of your wife. It will then restart and act a little more funny before starting up as normal again. -
3. Connect your phone to the PC, copy the ROM (which is the 200mb zip file) on the phone memory (not your external SD card). Also, install "Samsung USB drivers.exe" (Not needed if you have gay "Kies" already installed. )
4. Install "ROM Manager" from Market.
5. Now run the ROM manager and select first "Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery", it will be the first option from the top. Select "SAMSUNG GALAXY I9000" from the menu that follows. It will begin downloading a file.
- look for a download progress bar just below the notification bar at the top. If the download freezes for some reason, feel free to exit and re do the same process. -
6. In this same application there will be an option "Install ROM from SD card", select this option, it will show you your internal memory, now scroll down to the copied 200mb zip file and select it. Click yes / whatever to make it proceed.
- The phone will restart, go through some matrix command prompt ****e that will eventually start you up to a new animation, it will take around 5 mins for that animation to go away. Voila! - Your phone is running on Custom software! -
This guide will work for many ROMs you get off the interent, just dont be a **** - download only custom / original fw that is actually made for your phone (SGS i9000).
You will read a lot about OCLF / One click lag fix / Lag fixes - DO NOT INSTALL THEM. Darky's ROM comes preinstalled with it. To activate Lag Fix on your newly installed ROM, you will need to restart your phone in recovery mode, use the volume rocker keys to navigate to "VOODOO lag fix" after the phone restarts, and enable it from there. And then reboot using the same console. Then a creepy voice will tell you that your phone will self destruct in 2 mins, wait... wait... and done! After 4-5 mins the phone will boot up normally.
Another thing - If you brick your phone, follow this video
www . youtube . com/ watch?v=D0aoabVtPJ8
its as easy as monkey see, monkey do. Trust me, I did it in 10 minutes.
Enjoy. And thank me if you like the pics I post. (You pervert )
Looks good.
Maybe you can consider adding an FAQ or a guide for those who think they have "bricked" their phones (e.g. re-flashing stock firmware and so forth).
Anyway, good guide, looks simple enough to follow for newbies.

It is very addictive indeed, I love it! There's firmware all over the place, essentially all you need to do is pick up an older official firmware such as XXJPM and flash it via Odin in Download mode again. If users seem to experience that problem maybe I'll hook you up with a little guide.
I'm just wondering why do you use Z24 root and then use another root method after? why not just use CF root. For users still on 2.1 they can just put clockkworkMod update.zip on there phone and load up recovery 2e , flash update.zip then flash Darky's from there. You also only linked to the JP5 CF root when there are multiple versions ;p not everyone is running JP5.
Another way to if your already on 2.2/2.2.1 is to just flash Speedmod with odin and then just use CWM from there since its built into the kernel.
Not saying your method will not work just seems longer then it has to be ;p.

I was saying if the user is already on 2.1 (eclair) firmware, then this means they already have recovery 2e, recovery 2 e is what is needed to get CWM working. From there they could just skip the CF-Root just install Z24 Root and Rom manager and install Darky's from there and skip the whole Odin step. Or they could Just download CWM and install it in recovery 2e as a Update.zip, then use CWM recovery to install Darky's.
If your on 2.2/2.2.1 (froyo) then you can just flash Speedmod with Odin install Rom manger and install Darky's or just boot into Recovery once you have speedmod installed and install Darky's from there using Update from SD.

In your guide you are rooting your phone twice, Once with Z4 root then again using odin and flashing CF "ROOT".
Redone!
Thanks for the guidance!
Now if someone can make it sticky...
This guide seems so simple to use. I feel like im missing something. Right now im rooted on JL2 i9000m. I installed ROM Manager earlier today and flashed Clockworkmod from the menu. The next step really is only downloading darky's rom and adding it to my SD then Flash from sd? seems way to simple
or guides have like 38 steps!

Your next step would be flashing a kernel that has 2e recoveryand cwm such as hardcores kernel if you have not already done so if you have then use cwm to install Darky's rom.
This guide will only work if your coming from a 2.1 rom. JL2 is a 2.2 rom that has 3e recovery you need 2e recovery for cwm to work like I said Hardcores kernel will get you that, once you have cwm just put Darky's rom on your sd, load up cwm recovery and install darkys from there.

Yes but your on JL2 witch has the .sbl (secondary boot loader) update so flashing back to jh2 or another 2.1 firmware will not work unless its a full rom with the sbl included. This is why I recomend using odin and just flashing hardcores kernel then you can use rom manager or cwm to install darky's from there. Installing hardcoes kernel you will still keep all your current apps nothing will change except the kernel.

How can I update my streak from 319 o2 version to 2.2.2 345

Hey
Thanx a lot for helping ppl like me, who dont have much knwledge about flashing. I need ur help
My streak is on build 12792 I.e. 319
Baseband is GAUSB1A131921-EU
I want to update it to 2.2.2 build 345
Plz tell me the easiest way.. Also my streak was locked to o2 but nw I unlocked it..
Also tell me if there any problem in 345
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Also will I have to update baseband ? If yes than hw culd I do that?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
The only thing I did was download 345 and rename it update.exert and run it like that.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Rename it update.exe damn spell check
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Are u having an o2 streak previously locked with baseban 21-eu...??
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
good lord....
it is update.pkg and you place it on your sd card and do a system restore by holding the both volume keys on boot up.
update.exe... lol
I'm afraid I'm going to prove myself equally noobish here, given I've been wondering the exact same thing..
So looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak , and the following the links to the raw file area there are various files for 345..
There's what I assume is the main pkg that we download and rename:
o http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/update-15055-patch-13141.pkg
Then there's a subdirectory with lots of other 'stuff' in it, including recovery.img, update.zip, and the basebands
o http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/345/
Am I right in assuming that the pkg link includes all of the 'stuff' in the 345 link, and so if I upgrade using that as you guys described, then it will update everything; baseband included?
Also one of things I've got confused about from reading the forums...
If I'm on the O2 (Region 21) ROM and I want to upgrade to an unbranded Dell one (00), do I need to first replace the existing recovery.img with the Dell one, or do some other such magic to force the upgrade?
I've tried reading the forum at length, but just haven't quite managed to put all the pieces together yet
Thanks,
Tam.
tis what I did...no problems n easy...i had been playing with streakmod n clockwork. flashed recovery to 309...and as krad stated ensure u store package to sd root and named update.pkg ..install by vol up n down n power then option 2....dont use the new stageui which is nice .... comes with oovoo for video calls....not one fc or crash....dont foget superuser.zip after installed n flashing streakmod to update
This doesn't work for me unfortuantely
It verifies the package, and then as soon as the install happens it aborts with an assertion failed error: getprop ro.product.fota.model == "Boss" || ro.product.fota.model == ""
From reading around I'm guessing mine has the tag set to "O2"..
Suggestions on how to fix this most appreciated!
Thanks,
Tam
Its all confusing to me too. Just want to qdl tool and install pkg.
Is that what this file is?

Bouncing this in the hope that some kind person will help out a noob
So far I've tried editing the build.prop file to remove the O2 from the attribute, and flashing the 345 recovery rom before running the upgrade.. both resulted in the same error message.
I'm sure it's just something really obvious I'm missing though
Well, I can't promise that this will work 100% for an EU streak. (It worked for me usa BB ATT Streak)
You will need the following, adb installed on your pc, the following 345 files recovery.img & update.pkg, the dell streak drivers).
1. install the latest dell streak drivers on your pc.
2. copy the update.pkg to the root of your sd card.
3. boot your streak into fastboot mode (power on while holding the camera button, then touch top right of screen when prompted)
4. connect streak to pc via usb cable, then wait until the screen says fastboot usb or something like that)
5. you need to have adb installed on your pc, copy the recovery.img to the directory you are running fastboot/adb from.
6. run the following from a command prompt: (I always do this as an administrator)
fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x413c reboot
7. boot into recovery "holding both volume buttons while powering on" (I have found that booting in recovery and performing a factory reset is a good practice), reboot into recovery mode again and perform the emergency system update procedure. with the correct recovery version it should update
** Two very important things to keep in mind here, 1. I am basing this of my usage with a usa at&t streak so you may have baseband issues, 2. I may have missed something and I strongly urge you to read up on the procedures I have given you a basic outline on so you don't brick your streak!! Check the Wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak
Cheers

Hey,
Everyone out dere wid an o2 streak..
I just flashed 345 and its amazingly smooth..
Just use the multirecoveryflasher tool to flash 345 recovery nd then after reboot.. Apply yhe update.pkg its very easy nd also the o2 bloatware is no more no signs of o2 newhere.. Baseband 00-eu
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Thanks both - I figured out what I was doing wrong too; the recovery gets reset to the stock one if you boot the phone up, which I'd done last night after flashing 345.
Just needed to read more forum posts to figure out how/why I was an idiot

[GUIDE 25/02/2012]UK ONLY /Orange/ T-mobile – ROOTING, UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER

I have updated this guide as I have a new replacement from t-mobile. This guide was based on my previous atrix which was running froyo (2.2.2) This time I have applied OTA 45.21.2.Mb860.T-mobile.en.gb and everything works perfect so if you have updated your phone to 2.3.4 then you can use this guide as well
I have decided to create this thread as I have seen many people confused about the difference between At&t phones and their UK ones. This thread will help you make the decision whether you want to hack your phone or not. I own T-mobile UK Atrix and whatever I have done worked perfectly for me. I’m not responsible for any bricks. You doing this on your own risk – good news is that no one (UK) had their mobile bricked. ALL CREDITS GOES TO DEVELOPERS AND OTHERS THAT CREATED SIMILAR THREATS – THANKS
ROOTING – If you running froyo (2.2.2) I have used gingerbreak method which is very easy:
Code:
1. Download Gingerbreak.exe from here: [url]http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&drKey=1359&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1046626&v=1&libid=1311795059566&out=http%3A%2F%2Fbandbinnovations.com%2Fxda%2FGingerBreak.exe&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D997%26order%3Ddesc%26page%3D4&title=%5BHOWTO%5D%20Easy%20Root%201.5.7%20%26%201.83%20using%20GingerBreak%20-%20xda-developers&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fbandbinnovations.com%2Fxda%2FGingerBreak.exe[/url]
2. Make sure you have got debugging mode ON(settingsApplications Development) and you have installed drivers for your atrix
3. Run Gingerbreak.exe on your pc
4. In your phone you will find new app called gingerbreak – run it and select root. Mobile will reboot itself once is done.
5. Congratulation you are rooted.
NOTICE: You need to have External SD Card and also be aware that rooting this way will format your internal storage.
ROOTING – If you running gingerbread (2.3.4) use superoneclick (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682) and fallow the instructions on the original thread. Very easy way.
If you want to try ANY Custom ROM you need to Unlock your Bootloader:
Code:
1. You need to download and install RDS lite on your PC: [url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=634879&d=1308872277[/url]
2. Download and extract IHOP_Bell.rar: [url]http://diamantephoto.com/IHOP_Bell.rar[/url]
3. Download and extract Fastboot tools [url]http://gititbit.ch/FAST[/url]
4. Power down your Motorola Atrix
5. Take out your microSD card and SIM card for the flashing process
6. While turning the phone on, hold the Volume Up button until it acknowledges RSD
7. Your device will say “Starting RSD protocol support”
8. Run “RSD Lite” on your computer
9. Press the “. . .” button next to the box labeled “Filename”
10. Load up the SBF file – IHOP_Bell.sbf
11. Plug your device into your computer
12. RSD Lite should recognize your device and say “Model: NS Flash Olympus” and “Connected…”
13. Press the “Start” button
14. Be patient while the phone reboots. It will take a long time.
15. Open and extract the Fastboot package from above
16. Open a command prompt window
a. On Windows, press Start and type “cmd” then press the enter button
17. Type the following command. Your directory will be the folder where you extracted the Fastboot package.
(Example: cd C:\Users\Kenneth\Desktop\fastboot-package)
a. cd your directory here
18. Power down your Atrix device
19. Hold the power button and the downward volume button until you see “Fastboot”
20. Let go of the buttons and press the upward volume button once
21. You will now see “Starting Fastboot protocol support”
22. Plug your device into a USB port in the back slot of your computer
a. Front slots sometimes do not have enough power to stay connected to the device.
23. Type the following command:
a. fastboot oem unlock
24. You will now receive a warning along with a unique device ID
25. Type the following commands using your unique device ID in place of the ####:
a. fastboot oem unlock ####
b. fastboot reboot
26. Wait for your device to reboot. Congratulations! You now have an unlocked bootloader!
I recommend to install romracer's Recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500.
Instalation:
Code:
$ fastboot devices
TA20700KXH fastboot
$ fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 0.741s]
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (4780 KB)... OKAY [ 0.490s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 0.544s]
The reason I recommend this recovery is because the official clockwork recovery doesn't support external sdcard (bug?). If this doesn't bother you then you can download Rom manager from market and install official recovery.
Most of the roms have unified kernel which means you don't need to apply anything after installation. This includes roms like aura, the dark side, cyanogen mod.
However if you do have issues with memory then download kernel from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156040
Thanks for this - thats my night sorted
Very useful and thorough guide. Thanks a lot Mr Foka. I left you a "thanks" btw.
thank you so much! just going to unlock my orange atrix

Hi there,
sorry, a quick question regards to the custom ROMS, you mentioned if I am going to apply the AT&T ROMs, I need to apply custom kernels,
Foka002 said:
You can now install ANY Custom ROM. However if you want to install ROM That is designed for AT&T you will have to apply FIXED Kernel for international (faux’s or eveal kernels working excellent for our devices - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1156040)

but in eval-'s thread, he mentioned:
I suspect these boot.img will 'fix' RAM for unlocked internationals on any Gingerbread 2.3.x build (only), but this as faux123 helpfully points out, your modules must match (important for wifi, vpn) ! So for now, these boot.img with quick & dirty RAM fix are only for this Orange FR 2.3.4 system.img!! (Unless you want to copy around dhd.ko and parts of /system/lib/hw between /systems...)

So can I just apply his kernel on the AT&T firmware?
Cheers,
Well I tried eval kernel few times and long time ago. For every rom I had it I used faux kernel so it's safer to use it with recent roms.

Hi thanks for the time and effort but I was hoping someone could help me.Trying to follow the guide but having trouble with two parts.Firstly when running pudding through rsd how long exactly do you leave it?It says to leave it at android lockscreen but rsd dhows as not finished like 38% rebooting at this time/Also when to connect or disconnect is confusing as I read a guide previously to yours am not sure if phone gets disconnected after rsd?Lastly and I think my most serious problem is that I cant get the fastboot command to work.It will either say unable to find the path specified or no command on internal or external etc.Any ideas? Thanks
Great guide! Thanks for putting this together.
So correct me if im wrong but I can follow this guide, and put on gingerbread on my orange ATRIX and it will work fine?!?!?!?
Also once the official update hits UK can I just install that?
Great work btw

In order to use fastboot you need to have motorola drivers installed. Im not sure about eds but if your device is recognised then it is fine. Im not sure about waiting time in rsd but if you did fallow this guide step by step you shouldn't have any problems.

Yes you will be able to flash gingerbread but you won't be able to use official OTA unless you downgrade to 2.2.2 using fruitcake method. The thing is if you want to play with custom roms then there is no point in waiting for official release because its not going to be any better than any rom we've got now. Just keep in mind once you unlock your bootloader you will lose warranty.
Uk OTA is coming for sure but I have no idea when. Rumours says in sep/oct

Did you flash the rom with it too, as webtop is a separate part?
Never seen that menu, but never tried to boot just after ihop either though, as has no rom as party of it, check out size of the file, and size of a normal sbf.

I think this is soft brick...Is this UK atrix ??
Noob questions
Do I need to root before I flash this ROM? Because I don't have an SD card I'm a bit confused if I can do this or not. Once flashed to Orange France 2.3.4, if the OTA comes through what should I do? Accept? Decline? I'm very doubtful that Motocrap will update us to ICS, so can we update to ICS manually if I flash right now? Finally, if I do Brick, what can I do? I don't have insurance. Can I backup to a PC? I want something that no matter what happens I can restore to. Thanks for the answers ( if I get any )

6. Open heimdall-suite-1.1.1-win32 folder
7. Open the Drivers folder and run zadig
8. In the zadig application click options then list all devices and in the drop bar choose your tab then click install

You should check this rom out it's the first rom to actually impress me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325469 I suggest using the stock launcher from 2.3.5 but besides the launcher it's blazing fast I did a CPU benchmark and got 432ms!!! OC at 1300mhz and it has a CWM recovery
A few notes on this method:
When you open zadig, you may have to select Options and check "List All Devices" in order to see your tab listed.
Also, after pressing "Start" on the frontend, I immediately got the message "Failed!" I pressed "Start" again and it all went smoothly.
And then when you reboot into recovery, note that to select any of the options, after choosing them with the vol up/down keys, you have to press the Home button. If you press Settings, you'll get a scary "!" triangle. Just hold power to shut the tab down and reboot.
Worked like a charm, just make sure you load the drivers BEFORE you open up the frontend program! I had to reload the drivers, then start front end again to not get the "failed" message.
Anyway, great job. Very easy!
just used this guide to flash my galaxy tab.
very simple. thanks again for posting it.
when the device got done downloading the info heimdall was sending, it rebooted pretty quick, and i missed booting into recovery, but i held down power till it hard reset and went back into recovery from there.
just be ready to hold volume up after the flash. the reboot is much quicker than i expected.

So I just got my Refurb Tab and did the OTA update and was on 2.3.5. I proceeded to step one. Flashed fine and things seem good. At first Ti Backup said it didn't have busybox access so I downloaded BusyBox from the market, rebooted and now it works. Now is this just the stock Rom but rooted? Is it considered a Vanilla Rom then? Just trying to get my terminology down here. On my fascinate you root but are still on the stock rom, then flash a vanilla rom or some other rom (ex: CM7 or whatever) but i thought i read somewhere on here or another thread that this was considered a "vanilla package" didn't make sense to me so figured i'd clear it up.
Look in applications and see if you have "superuser"
if you do, you have root.
Works great! Thanks very much for the help... Much appreciated.
nicely done!
How is everyone flashing CWR to their Verizon Galaxy Tabs?
Is any possible way to get Modem.bin from this firmware (2.3.5). I accidentally flashed Modem from leaked 2.3.4 and now stuck with S:i800.0.3V.EF01 baseband and can't make my Tab all stock. I would really appreciate it. Thank You!
Works Great~ now my SGT is rooted Thank you so much.
Stop posting my files all over the internet.
