Hello
After rooting my xperia play. I now cannot install apps at all. Market downloads the app then gives the error download unsuscesfull. Tried from market.android.com but phone not on there any more. I have reset my phone cleared data from all apps reflashed root update (do get an error saying 1 bad block) error started after I installed busybox and hard reset.
Can anyone help?
Did you unlock bootloader and rooted and the same time?
reason I ask is that I noticed that after I unlocked the bootloader my handset disappeared from market.android.com and didn't show again for several hours. Once it showed again I was able to download apps etc.
I had no issue after root but I did unlock the bootloader the day Sony Ericsson released it.
na i unlocked the bootloader as soon as i came out
does anyone know where i can get the tft for the play as i want to try flashtool?
I'm looking for a working tft too to relfash. Think someone posted the decrypted files from SEUS. anyway to make it into a tft?
here is the original tft:
http://www.multiupload.com/2IBHV33CU5
got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13146787&postcount=10

Hi,
PLEASE HELP ME!!
I've got a stock out of the box Galaxy S4 (4.2.2) and I'm having trouble with a couple of apps not installing.
The first app is Good Messaging for my corporate email, tries to install then says 'my phone is not within policy'
Just tried to install my mobile banking app and it bombs out and says my device is rooted.
I've have definitely not tried to root or modify the Android OS. I downloaded the free rootchecker app and it says I'm not rooted.
Is this an app problem or something weird on the S4 I need to modify so it appears unrooted? Never had this issue with my past S2.
Thanks in advance.

If you have to root your phone so that you can use this app, why you don't do it? It takes you a little 15 minutes, just follow the tuto carefully and everything will be easy.
Also if you want to go back to official stock for insurance issue, you can flash to the official stock.
I do not want to root my device. I want it unrooted (locked)- which out of the box it should be.
The 2 apps I'm trying to install will fail to work if the device is rooted.
Unfortunately the apps 'think' my device is rooted when its not.
How can I double check if my S4 device is unrooted/locked?
FYI- I'm with Vodafone UK (England). I wonder if their Android build is the problem? Is there an easy way to install a stock non branded ROM?

That is I tried to tell you, Root->Unroot = out of the box factory state. No one will notice that you have root...
That cannot be. Even if you device is root, you can still download any app. However if you device is not rooted, yo cannot download App who require the root.
Try to flash the official firmware of your phone through Odin, and see if it still displays that error warning.
Hi there.
Some months ago Google Play stopped working on my system (Huawei U8800).
Don't know what I did although I had rooted the device around that time - I didnt connect the dots. Im not even sure it rooted correctly. I have since found Root Checker which I must have downloaded before the crash cos I was recently able to install it on the U8800. It does tell me in Root Info that Root Access - no access. So now Im deeper in the, err, mud.
Bottom line is I cant download anything and I really need it back.
Id really appreciate some advice here. Thx
Hi everyone guys, my nickname is AndresPiggy but you cal call me just Piggy as my friends!! :cyclops:
My problem is this:
I used to have my phone perfectly rooted with chainsfire(SuperSU)!! But... A time ago, I installed KingRoot accidentally and the apk started to install the root, after the root instalation failed, the Superuser(Apk from KingRoot) of KingRoot was there in my phone installed and that ruined the root on my phone, I tried to eliminate it but I can not, then, the SuperSU started having problems manage the aplications that need root access, after that I verify my root in my root checker and it said "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device".
"Root Checker App" : i66.tinypic.com/2re79n9.png
All these after I installed accidentally the KingRoot... After all this mess, I made a reset factory, but saddly, the Superuser was still there, and the SuperSU too. Now I dont know what to do I and searching help from you guys. :crying:
Searching more information from another apps I saw this:
"Simply Unroot App": i66.tinypic.com/ht5khv.jpg
"Unroot My Phone App": i68.tinypic.com/10ng7sp.jpg
"Superuser App" By ChainsDD: i63.tinypic.com/25gqc1w.png
I hope those pics help :good: Now I have the Kingo SuperUser deactivate it, and thats another thing, when I wanna install the bin of SuperSu, its failed, I tried by teh 2 ways and failed.
What Can I Do?
Hi Piggy! (As your friends call you)
The only thing I could think of in this case is to flash the stock firmware again. (Will cause a full wipe of the device though, so make sure you back up your stuff!). Unless your problem is solved by now of course.

Just like @RealFreddyBananas said. Flash a new stock firmware via odin. Then you can root your device again.
Tuesday
306sh activated with MVNO, SA300 firmware, rooted, with TWRP recovery,
working fine for past 2 months.
For unknown reasons, it decided last friday (at home, none to low signal) to do a system update
(from SA300 to S7232). Phone - on the desk- just "dinged" and msg came up "updating
system software". I attempted to cancel, but it didn't respond. Less than a minute later, "Update Successful" msg. Didn't reboot, anything, settings showed S7232 firmware. (SA300 before,
i had done my weekly backup earlier that morning).
Since then, phone constantly reboots at the "Aquos" screen; after an average 8 hours of rebooting, it will boot to setup, the talking setup screen. Works perfect for about an hour then rebooting starts again. Let battery die last nite, tried again this am - same thing rebooting.
TWRP backups don't fix problem- weekly backup, i have 6 i've tried, factory reset doesn't fix, if i try to Software Update, it checks, tells me, "up to date".
I turn on wi-fi to use the phone from home, , guessing it did a ? hit & miss ? ota update since the
wi-fi was off when it attempted the update. Home is a very minimal signal area.
Any way to force it to take the S7232 update again?
(I could update over wi-fi if i had wanted, only i didn't want the update anyhow).
thanks, rik
I can give you a link for a backup with latest firmware, you will have to wipe data tho
https://mega.nz/#!fkommKgJ!fkiaT_p8ZFOBzyJpUdNAqOZlTWpt-5hNuQ-2vvA5tSQ
This is a full backup from newest firmware but you need to wipe data before boot
sent from rooted 306sh
Stick firmware updates are not compatible with custom recoveries
sent from rooted 306sh
Just home, thanks
Hi,
Thanks for the help, just home from work (rough), so i will plug the
Aquos in tonite and hopefully be able to try the file tomorrow,
(that 8 hour boot thing), just downloaded your file, i'm ready.
This is my take-to-work personal phone, sprint zone, and i missed it today.
Your help is really appreciated.
rik
Final note
thought i'd just post to let you know the phone obviously had big problems
-- it failed to start today -- just buzz on buzz off -- even after 4 hours charging,
all i could get was the battery dead screen, wouldn't come on at all.
Guess the real problem was with hardware, i laid it away in the junk phone box
in the attic, end of Aquos Crystal.

Question: My 306SH would not update (still at S8216). Could use your back up to update my firmaware?
After 306SH ph was acting weird, did a hard reset & saw system Software updtd to S7232, & unk file in Misc (.eCtcQjbu1dgnvtFnvnr6yepTp1M=) I then installed Malwarebytes & scan detects this S7232 software update as malicious malware Android/PUP.RiskyTool.Agent.ay (dm.redbend) "/system/priv-app/fotaClient.apk". When going to System to do an manual update, Malwarebytes popups w/same msg every scan "Software App", even aft reboot 2days ago 7/12/2017. And phone wont let me create new google acct. An error that "google account mgr not working" popup & I see that same unk file reappears. Ph not rooted -XDA says "there's no root for 306SH that works">see XDA blog 'Root for Aquos Crystal 306SH ONLY'.
Go to the Sharp USA website for the 306SH firmware, and see what firmware you are on.
Download the firmware from the versions higher than yours, and if there is a repeat, notably "kernel.img", download the most latest version of it.
Then, plug your device into your computer, make sure you have the proper drivers installed for the Sharp Aquos Crystal installed on your computer. Boot your device into bootloader. Go to a terminal, cd to the directory where you downloaded your .img's from the website, and do
fastboot flash kernel kernel.img
Ex.
fastboot flash foo foo.img
And you can flash all the latest updates. When done, exit the terminal, make sure the device is unmounted, unplug from computer, and reboot your Crystal.
Hooray, it should be updated!

Turkbot, I hate to beg on my first XDA post, but is there any chance that you still have that ROM and is there any chhance that it's not TextNow loaded? I've got TWRP, Busybox, SuperSU, Xposed, and I've tried every which way to edit the prop, tweak it with modules, unlock etc (it even works with my Sprint MSL, but crashes when I try to manually set my MDN and MSID) It just says no SIM/no service and refused to give me any signal except for GPS and WIFI without one. Countless 'techs' over the phone and 3 different Sprint repair stores claim they don't have the stock firmware and Sharp actually claims that the reason they can't help me with the firmware is their contract with Sprint forbids it.. If you still have the file or a TWRP / Titanium etc backup you would be my savior.
Hello,
Here is my problem.
2 days ago, I wanted to root my phone to get rid of any Google stuff (at this point I didn't know the existence of ADB commands :crying: ).
I followed a step by step youtube tutorial (youtube.com/watch?v=ZD-5twDm6XI), which works with TWRP, magisk and Odin (factory reset is needed).
Once everything is finished, my phone is finally rooted, and I grant superuser rights to Titanium app to uninstall google, and only SOME apps uninstalled totally (maps, chrome, facebook) BUT google play services won't uninstall. So, I try with System App Removal to uninstall google play stuff, and the same happens.
I reboot my phone, and it seems that everything disappeared... Not so sure... Indeed, the play store reinstall all applications as soon as I connect to the WiFi! and I have a persistent message "google play services stopped" that prevents me from browsing for example.
At this point, I use ADB commands, to remove anything which contains "com.blahblah.google.blahblah" and the play store (com.android.vending) with -k command. And it worked totally fine !!!!! I disconnect my phone, ready to backup my data. Idkw, i wanted to uninstall system app removal. IMPOSSIBLE from the phone, which says : "samsung One UI stopped" (I was in safe boot mode). My phone doesn't answer, so I reboot it.
Once it has booted, the TWRP menu screen appears. Ok, isn't that weird ? I swipe to allow changes, then I go to system to boot "normally" my phone.
A warning says : NO OS INSTALLED !!!! I don't understand, I panic, but finally boots my phone. Black charging screen. Forever.
I started first to flash an "official" Samsung ROM from Sammobile. TWRP indicates it is an invalid .zip, adb too. Odin doesn't manage to boot from the ROM too. I take a deep breathe and cry. Then I download the /e/ ROM which works fine !! but it has become impossible to backup my data from my samsung account....
So, I came to ask you a few things. WHY did it happen ? How can I be sure that there is no trace of TWRP anymore ? However, my phone storage is 64 GB and there is only 53,5 Gb free of internal storage !? Do you think the original firmware could be "hidden" in my files (e ROM is about 800Mos compressed) ?
It is stupid, but after my mistakes, I miss google...
I will do my best to reply asap.
Thank you for your help !

Google writes and distributes android.
There are many things in android that you cannot remove and still have a viable system.
imho you will have to flash a rom but we need your phones information (found in settings/system/about phone) model, version baseband, etc. etc
Others more knowledgeable can step in and help.

Thank you for your reply ! I've read your article about FRP but I'm afraid it's not my problem...
Here are some of my phone specifications :
model : SM-G950F
version baseband : G950FXXS8DTC1
OS : /e/ version 0.9-p-dev-dreamlte (LineageOS API : Ilama 9)
Android 9
I've been digging the web for ROMs but each time I feel unsecure about it (virus, etc...) so I hope maybe you have something trustworthy

I've been browsing through my root files and folders ( / ) ...
So :
/system is occupied with 2.33 GB
/vendor with 577 MB
/mnt with 9.01 GB
/proc with ... 236.9GB but every under-folder is empty... (explanations welcome !)
/storage is empty
If anyone could check on his device (S8 Exynos with android 9.0 Pie and One UI) if the files' sizes approximately matched, it would be great !
The one I just received is G950FXXS8DTC6 / G950FOXM8DTC1 / G950FXXS8DTC1 (after it took the Apr 1 update) so probably identical - a Yateley GU46 6GG UK phone. I am running it on ATT Prepaid(US) , which gave me the Apr 1 update. I don't know its history but it hasn't been modified - knox=0.
What you would need to do is get that zip and flash it with odin, but having no experience flashing the S8 myself, or any idea where to get that zip, I can be of no help to you. (I just came off a moto x4 which I ruined by flashing a couple custom rom's to try to help others on that forum - the blessings of Pie on that device!)(plus, taking the Apr 1 update on that phone requires a factory reset/wipe.) I needed a dependable phone here and in Europe on vacation.
Keep posting and ask someone to help you re-flash it.
EDIT: I wonder what a settings/general management/factory reset would do. But don't do one until someone here much more experienced with the S8 suggests it.
EDIT: WARNING WARNING WARNING -> Before flashing, ACTIVATE PIN in "Secure startup" (You'll be asked for it AFTER flashing!)
lockscreen and security / secure startup / require pin
I also see a note to delete your google account before doing this. Don't know if necessary.
EDIT: I believe I have found the rom - see pic This is from the SamFirm exe. 0.3.7 I put VOD for the region.
Remember: don't do anything with this until someone experienced in S8 tells you to!
Hi KrisM22,
I've already flashed with Odin, and I have talked about this on different forums, seen tutos on websites,... I hope this time it will work
I have the ROM required, selected activate pin, followed step by step the recommendations, and if I figured it out I will keep you up to date !

I flashed a ROM from https://www.imei.info/download-firmware/samsung/samsung-g950f-galaxy-s8/SM-G950F/ , then I just followed the steps and flashed with Odin. TWRP has disappeared (the classic recovery menu came back). I think I have found my issue with the "no OS installed" bug : it could be because I deleted the essential API com.google.android.packageinstaller, what may have prevented the phone from booting and launching the OS and its apps .
I should have read this excellent post before...
*I ran antivirus analysis with virustotal and Bitdefender, which both declared the extracted files were safe : I didn't notice anything different by my phone compared to the original OS too, so...
