Try plugging it into an outlet. Does it say battery low when in bootloader.

did you pull the battery and see if it would boot?

Yeah ive tried everything lol pull battery hooked it to the outlet it says battery low and then i tried a full battery and it jus says okay connect to usb and wont charge the battery at all

Well if the battery you tried was full, then of course it wouldn't charge it. You could have a bad battery. Did you boot the phone with the full battery?

yeah i meant like it wouldnt even charge the dead battery when i had it in but yes i did and it did the samething

HD2 Died - Power Problem

Thats right.. last night i left my Leo charging, today when i woke up i noticed that the battery level was very low so.. i unplugged it and plugged it again, noticed that the orange led wasnt lighting up, neither was the phone charging.
The phone gets very very very hot when plugged to charger or USB port on my computer and does not charge at all.
Tried it all, left it all day long with the battery out of the phone, tried charging without it in.. and nothing..it just gets very hot where the connectors (pins) make contact with the battery.
Now im trying to charge the battery on a cradle to flash it with stock rom and SPL to get it to warranty..
Any of you guys has any thoughts?
I see i posted in the wrong section.
Thank u mod
Do you always charge via usb into pc? Is your cradle plugged into the wall or pc? I don't know if you have done this, probably so, but check in windows settings->system->Power and inside the battery tab see if the "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC" is checked.

Yeah.. it crossed my mind to check for it, and that option is unchecked.
Though the charging "orange" led doesnt turn on even if the phone is off.
I usually charge it via usb->pc, allthough i tested with the wall charger and nothing.
I suspect it must have been a power surge that burnt in some way the PBC of the "charging module..thing"
Thanks for the suggestion
i'd check that none of the pins for the battery are in contact with each other if there is heat in that area.
Ok, I'm assuming then that the phone works, but just has low battery at the moment. If that's the case then it doesn't appear to be the battery or the leads. Any chance it's the cable? That of course assumes your using the same one with the cradle. I ask because my device didn't come with a wall charger, just a usb cable so I had to get a few extra plus a wall plug-in with a usb port.

Weird, but unfortunately it didn't. I think being in the US and getting the device from Telstra in Australia may be why I didn't. Well, if it is a hardware problem and you can't get it to charge from the device, I believe you can get a cradle that will allow you to charge the battery independant of the phone. I know it's not the best option on the planet, but it would get your battery where it needs to be to flash and confirm whether or not it's a charging issue with the battery itself.
Come to think of it, this did happen to me several weeks ago. I plugged the phone in before bed as usual and noticed the charging light didn't go on and the battery drained overnight from about 60% to 15%, which it shouldn't have done. Not in standby at least. Soft-reset the next day fixed it. It hasn't done it since. I was installing a bunch of things that evening, which may have been what did it.
I had a same problem with my hd2 and by some miracle and few days of pain
it workd again...and it workd about 5 days and same thing happend al over again...and I think I have solution!
It may be stupid but it work for me...
try to connect your hd2 to charger but without battery and then insert the battery and it should start up your phone and charging...

HELP > Battery Is Not Charging at all (Via WallCharger / Computer USB)

Damn it..... i dont know what happened
it is still working perfectly yesterday
i did not drop the phone or battery, today the battery is still at 40% and as usual, before i went to sleep, i plug my phone on the USB Cable connected to my computer... but it is not charging.. and here i thought the error comes from my USB Cable , so i plug it into my wall charger ... but it is not charging at all!!!
and i thought, perhaps i have installed something , or some os faulty issue ... so i reset the phone via SETTINGS > About > Reset Phone
and after the reset.. it is still not charging...
argh what should i do... please help... anyone
i purchased this phone from singapore.. and i am indonesian.... the battery is currently at 30% , i am so afraid after it runs out of its juice, it will go away forever (because i cant charge it) T.T
what should i do....
(Is this battery and the one used on Galaxy S is the same? My sister has Galaxy S, should i try using her battery and try to charge it from my phone? .... ARGHHHH the omnia 7 is not even available yet in indonesia) T.T
Anyone help T.T
Get another charger it will charge get a new 1
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
you sure it is the charger?
You are talking about the wallcharger right?
usually it already charging via USB Connected to a computer.. but this time... the computer does not even detect if anything is connected.... (nothing happened when i plug this phone to my pc, usually there is a notification sound playing and my zune will autorun)...
damn it ... why this happened.. yesterday it is just fine (
damn it .. i am sleepy already..
i will go and sleep for now.. and left my phone turned off and plugged in the WallCharger
and hopefuly.... sigh.. it is still charing although no indication whatsoever is showing that
MAN... should i just try bang the damn battery hard onto the table... perhaps some of the chip inside the battery is misplaced by whatever unknown forced?!
damn it.. i never dropped the phone.... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
this is so frustrating
Relax
Relax man your charger is bad.
I have the same problem but my girlfriend have a Wave and start using his charger and everything works fine.
Buy a new charger
question
can i use any charger from any phone for this Omnia 7?
(the one that has USB Output of course, such as xperia1 charger)
if we can, then it is also not working.... and why suddenly it wont do anything when i plugged it in my Computer USB
the very same computer works perfectly yesterday, and suddenly it is not working..
I suspect either one of these is the problem :
1. the micro USB Connector in the Phone is broken somehow , hence the when we plugged it on, it does nothing
2. the Battery (which if i am not mistaken has a chip inside) is broken, hence explain why it is not charging at all (which a bit does not make any sense, if it is just not charging at least when i plug it on the computer, it should still detect this device...)
I am from indonesia, i can ask my friend who is returning from melbourne to purchase a new battery and new charger hopefuly
Okay to make things simpler.. i have a sister who own a Galaxy S
can i use the galaxy s wallcharger to charge my omnia 7? ah hell,i will try it anyway...
okay according to this
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SGH-I917ZKAATT
it goes great with galaxy s standard battery...
so i suspect, i can use my sister galaxy s standard battery and try to charge it using my cellphone
and i can also try to use my sister galaxy s wallcharger to charge my battery...
okay lets try ... hopefuly.... it is only the battery.. i can easily purchase a new battery... if it is the USB Connector on the phone... damn, how on this green earth can i charge my battery? OH we can use the kickstand battery charger?
hmm suddenly it is working now :O
thanks God... hopefuly it will never ever happened again T.T
Great it is working again
Any possibility that there is a way that the device forces a full recharge cycle to calibrate the battery?
Honestly i guess so.
I have the same problem...i can t charge my i8700 at all...what did you do to charge again???...i use a universal charger where i put my battery ...this happens for two weeks now..

Try allowing the phone to run out of battery and turns off, then plug it into the charger, i would love to know if this is a failure or be design behavior.
Put the battery in the phone,
Wait untill the phone goes completely off.
Plug the phone to the wall charger.
write back here
i tryed this but the same problem it turns on but only while the charger is pluged in when i pull it out the phone turns off...i try to hard reset nothing..there is no update to work with non retail devices...the phone is from three uk...i m from romania there is no way to return there to an service..(
Having the same problem. Been working flawlessly.Plugged it in a couple of hours ago,but it doesnt appear to be charging.
When I use the USB charger on the PC, it is recognised, and Zune opens up fine and Phone shows up.
Have tried two Mains chargers, the Omnia 7 one and the one that came with my Galaxy S, same problem.
EDIT:
Left it plugged in overnight and it charged fine.Used phone, going down to about half battery.Plugged it in and seems to be charging without a problem!
I've got the same problem as you guys for a couple of days now.
Thanks for your reactions i will try everyone of them untill my omnia 7 charges again

Do you have a bit of battery left?
Windows Phone 7 devices power up when you plug them in. Maybe the OS is not booting and because it is S-AMOLED display we cannot tell if it is on or not.
Try Hard Resetting without booting WP7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Omnia_7
Make sure you have a bit of power though, you don't want that to stop in the middle of the proccess
This has happened to me a couple of times. I think it's just a reporting bug, the battery is actually charging. I just have to restart the phone and it magically has charge
battery is charging too long
How long does take to fully charge the battery? For me it's about 4-5 hours with wall charger. Should not it be faster?
Mine is about the same for a full charge and I have also noticed my Omnia 7 not charging properly when I plug it into my MacBook Air however it does seem to charge fine on my Dell laptop for work.
Maybe the Omnia 7 is very sensitive for charging over USB on a laptop and needs a certain voltage for it to charge properly?
What works for me:
1. Original charger
2. iPhone 4 charger
3. iPhone 3GS charger
4. Blackberry Curve charger
Not tried any other micro-usb cables yet but will do at some point in the future.
I had the same problem too. The battery was suspiciously showing high levels for the last three days (went without a charge!). In the morning, the alarm did not go off, and I realised the battery was dead dead! Charged (wall charger) for 1.5 h without any use -- would turn off if I unplugged. Tried with the USB cable too (connecting to computer) and no use.
I read this post, and tried with the wall charger again, and it shows me ~60% battery, and seems to be charging normally!
Will post an update, but really seems like a forced discharge cycle to me too!!
Thanks for this thread, and I am interested in seeing if any more ppl are seeing such issues!
At least once, but sometimes twice a week, my battery keeps discharging while my Omnia 7 is attached to USB. And even the icon shows it should be charging.
The solution I use is taking the battery out for 10-15 seconds, put it back in, switch the device on, and charging works like it should be.
I hope they come up with a solution, because it's quite annoying.

Could It Be Bricked

I am in the bootloader but it is flashing saying battery low cannot program. I pulled the battery to truly get it to turn off, but no go. I had it plugged in all night, and the green light is on, but I am still getting the battery low cannot program message.
Any ideas to help this situation?
Steve
Edit: NM I figured it out. It needed to be plugged into a wall charger.
I'm having this problem too although leaving it plugged into the wall isn't helping.
Plug it into a wall charger, and then do a battery pull. Turn it on after that and you should be good to go.
Here's to hoping. It seems to be discharging in the bootloop, or just enough juice is getting through to power that, but not the battery. I'm gonna leave it in the wall for a couple hours and see how it goes. Thanks.
Oh and I just ordered another battery, I hope it comes with at least 50% charge.
It won't actually shut off afaict. After a battery pull it just goes back to the bootloop, and somehow I think that's preventing it from charging. I was hoping not to have to wait the two days until the new battery arrives.
This means you are still connected via USB to your PC. Connect to a wall charger and not to the USB port of your PC. When its on the wall charger you will not get this.
I appreciate your help, but something else must be wrong, as it is connected to the wall charger. After about an hour and half on the wall charger the bootloader still says battery low, cannot program. I'm just gonna leave it connected to the wall all day and see if it manages to charge. I can live without it for a day.
I've done that before while sbf' ing... U have to some how charge ur phone battery using a friends phone buy a new battery or take ur battery into vz & having them charge it other wise ur forever stuck w/the green light after that u will b good to go
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Oh plus it won't charge While in boot loader mode Just fyi
Oh & if u ever do anything w/the boot loader in the future make sure ur battery is at least @70% to b safe
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
So are you saying that if you connect it to a wall charger and do a battery pull that it goes back to the bootloader? If so then I cannot help. It will boot properly after the battery pull for me.
I meant it goes into the bootloop again. I'm attempting the USB cable strip procedure right now. I found it in the newb's guide up top. It's kind of scary but seems to be progressing. I hope I don't blow it up.
Will the guys at VZW charge me for a recharge? It seems, I don't know anyone else with a Droid X.
Ha! I did the rip open a USB cable, and connect the leads trick, and it worked like a charm. Now charging to full before I go back to Liberty 2.0.1 (at least until the official OTA for GB.)
Thanks guys for all the tips!

Man be careful doing this!!! I hope you have the battery out of the phone while it's charging. USB has 5VDC and this phone runs on 4VDC!!! There is a voltage regulator inside the phone to control this when it is charging.
Also if the phone will not boot it will not charge the battery. Sounds like you are in a bootloader error from a bad flash. The battery for sure will not charge in this state.

Yeah I did it outside the phone. There is no way I could weave the wires into those prongs successfully anyway. I already ordered a battery, so if I fried the batt, no big lose. I wasn't willing to risk the phone itself.

Should i buy battery, please help?

I dont know, maybe it can hardm the software. I did this after minutes of showing "no charging", it stupidly started to charge. For 20 minutes, it is now around %8.
I think my cable has problem because when i move the cable, it disconnects. But my battery is not best i think. I wiped battery stats, fixed permissons. I dont know what to do now. I dont want to buy another battery but i dont know.
Update
I told i used my brother's usb cable and it charged until %8. Then i connnected my usb cable, it showed it was charhging but it was still %8 after 10 minutes so i took of, and then it showed %1. So i think my cable is broken? Now i am charging via ac but phone shows usb charging and it is still %2. Should i countinue or take off ?

Keep it on for atleast 20mins in USB w/o battery in. Then insert battery and charge for about 2 hrs w/o touching. It should be about 5%. Let it charge all night w/ AC.

Hello all, I'm having the same issue with an AT&T Impulse 4G, aka the wonderful Huawei U8800-51... This is running the stock AT&T OTA 2.2 froyo version, never been rooted or messed with.
It won't charge really at all, and I've tried a new battery also. It will boot and run OK when connected via USB, with no battery installed. I've only been able to get it to 12% battery, I did this since I wanted at least 10% charge to do an FDR. It won't last when charging on the AC, I've gotten the battery to around 5% on USB and then powered it off, then plugged it into the wall charger. I've tried both the Huawei OEM charger (1mA) and a replacement charger (650mA).
After a while of being plugged into the wall, the phone won't boot and the red LED just stays lit. I have to remove the battery and plug it in via USB to get it to boot again.
Is there anything in the OS that can go wrong and not let it charge the battery? (even though the screen shows the lightning bolt in the battery icon). I've gotten a battery monitor widget installed from Wifi. Other than that nothing has been installed whatsoever, it's FDR wiped, cleared cache, and the only other thing I've done is surfed the web a few times to verify connectivity after each FDR.
Or do I have a hardware problem? I've used different AC and USB cords, wiggled them a little bit in the port on the phone - it doesn't do anything and it's all the same - it just won't charge.
Or do I need to charge the battery externally somehow to some decent level and then throw it in the phone? Is there anything I can try to do from the basic OS or an app I can try to revive a battery (I have two) and get it to at least charge the battery fully just once so I can mess with it for more than a few minutes at a time?

I don't think the USB port itself is broken, since I don't lose/gain/drop any charge or data transfer by wiggling various cables that I've used.
When plugged into a computer via USB, I can see all the drives on the device fine, including the removable microSD card and I can access files on the microSD card just like any other USB device.
I measured the voltage at the - and + battery terminals on the phone, obviously without the battery installed, I get 0.60 VDC on USB and 0.81 VDC when plugged into several known-good wall chargers (including the OEM Huawei wall charger which says it's a 1 amp charger, and another generic microUSB wall charger which is labeled 650 mA).
So, I can't see how that would charge a 3.7 volt battery - it actually would be draining the battery like a vampire. This is why I think there's something wrong between the USB port and those battery terminals. But I just don't know if it's wiring/board stuff, or the stock Froyo somehow.
I also measured the two batteries I have.... one is at 2.97 VDC and the other at 3.06 VDC, so I assume those are flat dead basically. Both of them are basically brand new. The original battery was an AT&T replacement that my wife got just before she just bought an iphone instead, got sick of this thing.
I will try to get a battery calibration app when I get it back on wifi, it basically only works after I do an FDR and then put a battery in after having it already plugged into USB (otherwise, I get wifi "error"). But I'm really thinking I'm going to have to just disassemble this thing and see if anything is burned/broken/etc. Or does someone just want it on the cheap??

This device is a U8800-51
All I want is to get the battery working OK so I can keep it around the house as a wifi/camera/music device and so one day I can hopefully use it as a learning tool for my kid...

OK, so I bought an external wall charger that charges the battery separately from the phone (and it came with yet again another battery for $7). So I have now 3 good, full batteries.
I rooted it via SuperOneClick, and installed CWM, all thanks to the root guide here on XDA. (thanks!) Everything went fine and the device appeared to function correctly, although as I was doing all this, and setting the phone back up, the battery would go from 75-60-55-50-45-40% in a matter of minutes.
But once I got it done and rooted, I went and got the battery calibration app. Put in a fresh battery at 100& and wiped the stats (I've now done this several times). The battery definitely lasts a good bit longer, but still drops pretty quickly so I will try to find some new ROMs here shortly.
The only thing that is still very strange, is that if I shut the screen off or if it goes off on its own, it will not wake up.... I have to pull the battery and it works fine on reboot. Any ideas?

Bad Battery?

My battery is very bad, something went wrong, it is not charging anymore, my phone only turns on when connected to the notebok, but it doesn't really charge! It doesn`t charge even when connnected to the wall! What am I supposed to do?

you could try a new battery there cheap on ebay
you should buy a new charge-adapter look at amazon:good:
and your phone can't load fast when you plug it to your notebook
because your notebook usb-hub has not enough voltage
I had a similar issue battery wouldn't hold charge wouldn't turn on unless connected to the power kept restating etc had to send it to repair but they didn't state what was repaired. Try another battery or charging cable.
