Heres how to install:
1. go here to register:

click on the residential tab.
2. Get the app here:

(this is free but difficult to find, at least it was for me.)
3. Install the cab to the sdcard (not to the internal memory. voicemails will eat up space.)
4. open the Phonefusion app and go to option>settings>Activate FVM+
5. Give it a few seconds and let it do its thing and then it should work.

Well, it's not free anymore. =/

I have it but there is no good app for it... i hate checking everying on the mobile web browser.

youmail.com is just GR8!!! Try it, you can set filters, block any number you want, even set "recordings" of your choice to any number that calls you. Much better than Fusion and anything else. Did i say ; it is FREE??

This is not a Visual Voicemail Application as much as a service + Website. The Website that would display the Voicemail messages does not load correctly on my Wizard with TNT (19199.1.0.0).
YouMail although a good solution for some does not meet the needs of those looking for an app.

Yeah I found a coupon code on Retail Me Not to make the Individual plan free (Phone Fusion at Retail Me Not). However, the fact remains, that it's a service much like (read: exactly like) Google Voice and not an app (only).

These look interesting. I'm using mVisualVoicemail (http://www.motionapps.com/product/mvisualvoicemail/) which of course requires your voicemail to be forwarded to an email account first. If you can't do that, this program is useless.
Is there any way in WM6.1 or WM6.5 to make all the Voicemail notifications and links launch a program instead of dialing voicemail? Ever since I started using visual voicemail, I've come to notice how often I get notifications and convenient links to dial my voicemail, and I just wish I could set it to launch mVisualVoicemail instead.

Clearing up confusion
I dont know about you guys but just to clarify:
PhoneFusion is free. PhoneFusion uses an app. PhoneFusion did not assign me a new number. PhoneFusion has, as best I can tell, just replaced my Tmo voicemail.
I signed up online with no money given or agreed to. I downloaded the app given a link that was forwarded by text when I signed up. The app is just like a carrier's vvm except it loads a little slower. It loads your contacts automatically at every start, which is the small slow part.
Ive had youmail before on my old Blackberry (don't stone me) and although there are apps for some phones, it is no better or worse than Phonefusion besides the subcscriber login page online... which I would think we would never want to use day to day anyway.
All in all I can give PF a recommend. Check it out. The cool part (believe me with all the crap i went through to get youmail to work) is that you just push ACTIVATE and it changes all your settings to forward your calls.
****Sprint users.... trust me stay away. Your screwed on VVM. YouMail costed me 30 a month bc sprint charges for every forwarded call.

I think i'll stick with youmail. Hopefully they'll come up with a windows mobile app for this.

Sprint users can use PhoneFusion without charge. You just have to call up and ask for call forwarding on no answer which is free. Regular call forwarding "unconditional call forwarding" costs you $0.20 per call.
When I called up they told me it would cost $0.20, I told them it should not, only unconditional does, and they went back and told me I was correct.
I'm using PhoneFusion as above today and it seems to be pretty decent and the app works well. Whether I will miss the easy click and you're in voicemail with tf3d, I'm not sure yet
I'm a TP2 user...

Do you find that the 'new voicemail' icon appears at the top of the screen (indicating there's a new message waiting) when using Phone Fusion? (I'm not getting that, though it works otherwise). I'm on TMO USA (but I would have thought this was independent of carrier)

Well, I thought I would share my experiences with this app. I was wanting to get some VVM on my Tilt2, so I downloaded this app based upon this thread. Once I realized it was implementing some call forwarding, I kinda put the brakes on finishing the install.
Then I started having people report there was an odd disconnect error instead of going to my voicemail. Seems it partially setup the call forwarding, but since I did not completely install it it wrecked my regualr voicemail.
Anyway, I think I have it sorted out. I had to go intot he setup again, and 'Disable' the VVM. Now, when installing there was a clear warning about deactivating the service prior to any installation, but since I never completely installed I thought I was safe.

Hey Kev...you know you can go into "phone" under personal settings, and change your forwarding settings from there? It just reads your current settings from the network, and lets you change and update them from your phone...you can check there to make sure they all got put back the way they should

[TIP] Google Voice VOIP

I searched the forums but didn't find an updated guide for sending and receiving free VOIP calls using Google Voice so either:
A. It's common knowledge and everyone knows already.
B. No one gives a crap about free calling.
or
C. I've finally found a way to give back to the community.
Apps needed:
Google Voice
Sipdroid
GVoice Callback
Summary:
It used to be a real PITA to get VOIP and Google Voice to play nice on your phone but now with a new feature included in the latest beta of Sipdroid it's virtually automagic.
Prerequisite:
To make things happen really smooth and seamless you'll need a working Google Voice account as well as the official app on your phone before proceeding to Step 1.
*Edit: Gtalk must be set as the only "Forward to" phone on the Google Voice settings webpage to prevent the "normal" VZW voice call from killing the 3g Sipdroid data connection.
Sipdroid Set Up
Step 1:
Install and run the latest version of Sipdroid. (2.0 or higher)

Step 2:
Press the "New PBX linked to my Google Voice" button.
Step 3:
Create a name and password for your free PBXes account, supply your Google Voice account information and press the "Create" button.
If all the info you entered jives on the PBX side you'll receive confirmation and everything will be good to go. A green dot will appear in the top left corner of the notification bar to let you know it's "Registered".
Congratulations, you can now receive free VOIP calls to your Google Voice number through Sipdroid.
Ok, so what about making free VOIP calls with Google Voice?
As you may or may not know all incoming calls from the USA to GV are free, but there is a charge for outgoing calls. So the trick here is to turn your outgoing call into a free incoming call. This is made really simple by installing a handy little app called GVoice Callback.
GVoice Callback Set Up
Step 1:
Install and run the latest version of GVoice Callback
Step 2:
Supply your Google Voice account information and press the save button
Step 3:
Select "Google Talk" as your callback number and press the save button.
Step 4:
Select "When to use Callback" (always, never, ask, etc)
I personally leave it set as "Always" and toggle it on or off using the home screen widget.
So what happens now?
If you have Sipdroid registered and GV Callback running whenever you make a call from the standard Android dialer, GV Callback will intercept the call and forward it to your Google Voice number. Google Voice makes the call to the person you dialed and makes a call to you via Sipdroid (free incoming). As soon as you answer with Sipdroid the calls are patched together. Sipdroid can also be set to auto answer the callback so you don't have to.
There are several options in both apps to personalize how you want them to function for you that are beyond the scope of this tip.

Also VOIP quality can be very spotty at times so I wouldn't rely on it as my only form of telephony.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe I remember Google making GVoice calls free throughout 2011 (it was originally only until December 2010) so I don't think the second half is necessary at this moment.
The advantage, though, is that if you set this up as you say it doesn't appear you'll be using any minutes because it'll all be going over data. Nicely done! This seems like a great solution for those about to go over their minutes on their monthly plan.
Any word on call quality over 3G? I remember a friend telling me that calling from my laptop on WiFi sounded pretty awful but this was when GVoice first let you make free calls to landlines.

For some reason when I try to receive a call through 3g it shuts of and the green light turns red. Is verizon blocking VOIP? Works good through wifi

Not sure why it doesn't work on wifi for you. I've never had it not work on wifi in airplane mode or not. Sorry
As for not working on 3G: if you have Google Voice set up to forward calls to Google Talk and your mobile number the Voice call to your mobile number will disconnect your data connection. Unfortunately AT&T is right about something, you can't talk and surf (data) at the same time on Big Red.
FWIW, I just duplicated the 3g condition you described by adding my mobile number as a forward to phone. Light turned from Green to Red, but after removing my mobile number I was able to receive a call.

That's cool, but whenever I try to make a call through Sidroid without using GV Callback I get the "you don't have enough $$$ for this call" message. I never get it using Callback.

Ok, started messing with some setting in the sip app and got it working perfect...Also tried using it while on airplane mode while on wifi to make 100% sure it was using only data and it worked perfect........ Thank you

Is it just me? .. I seem to call all I want with g voice.. It never charged me. Don't user it tho really.. Just the voice mail.. But I have used it making calls to fool around

That's because Google Voice by itself still uses your Provider's network which count against your monthly minutes.
This method will work on activated phones in airplane mode over wifi, deactived phones and even Android tablets. Try that with Google Voice by itself with no Sip Client running and you'll see this...

I haven't tried it on a bad esn but if you can bypass the activation screen and get Google Talk to work over wifi I don't see why it wouldn't work.
It uses your gmail address through G Talk.

Google voice will allow you to send and receive free text messages already. You would of course have to tell all your friends to use your GV number instead.

I was under the impression that google voice allowed you t send and receive all usa calls..so in order for me to use this ovet wifo (in airplane mode) i have to use gv in conjunction with sipdroid?

Yes...unless you can find a hacked version of google voice that will work over wifi.
I did read somewhere though that Gingerbread had a Sip stack baked in which should make Sipdroid unnecessary.

CM9 Visual Voicemail

I've read a bunch of posts on this, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Baseband Version - S700.0.5S.EL30
Kernel version - 2.6.35.7-Shadow-CM9_v0.3 (have used default CM9 kernel and Samurai kernel also)
CyanogenMod Version - 9-02132012-NIGHTYLY-EpicMTD
I have been testing 2 different Voicemail installs.
sprint_vvm_5.1.0.48.apk - http://dev-host.org/95ls5ezsm22v/SprintVisualVoiceMail.zip
and
sprint vvm - 5.2.0.24 - Voicemail-335896.apk - http://db.tt/z9dDqjI9
I've tried using these steps:
1.unzip SprintVisualVoiceMail.zip to the root of your SD card
2.find sprint_vvm_5.1.0.48.apk on your sd card and install it...
3.download titanium backup from the market...
4.launch titanium backup and find sprint vm...
5.select restore... (select data only)
I install the 5.1.0.48 APK and then restore data only from backup and when I launch Voicemail I get a "Unfortunately, Voicemail has stopped." error with only OK as a option to close.
If I uninstall that and install 5.2.0.24 (and not restore data) the application opens up, but I get these errors and no new voicemail notifications.

Account Verification Error which I click through and get to voicemail, but no new messages show up.
I can check for new messages and get 'Attemping to download new messages.' but no messages show up.
If I restore data to this version of voicemail, it loads without any errors - but I still get no voicemails.
I'm getting a SMS message that says to call 650-603-0000 to listen.
I've searched and found these suggested fixes:
Re-activate your Visual Voicemail account. This will force the Voicemail client to send an activation message to the Server again. Once re-activated, all pending messages should be able to download again.
Option(1):
- Go to - Settings/Applications/Manage Applications (be sure you are looking at "all")/Voicemail/Clear data
- This will wipe out your old Inbox messages but your filesystem will come clean
Option(2):
Use Visual Voicemail Compose screen and send it to the following address: [email protected] (you must have a couple of seconds recorded)
Option 1 just takes me back to where I started (reverifying account)
Option 2 doesn't work with either version of voicemail apk with or without data restore. Both crash when I try to record a message.
The problem seems to be that I can't verify my account information. (communication is timing out) Is there a way to check and see if it's using the right server?
I would like to use sprint visual voicemail. So not picking 'use another app from market' has anyone figured out how to get this to work?

I will never happen until there is an ICS-compatible version of the Sprint VVM. Your only option is to use something else.

No. No device on Sprint has ICS yet, and probably won't until mid-March.
I recommend just using Google Voice.

I've used my phone for less then 30 minutes of talk time over the last year and some change and maybe have received a dozen voicemails. It's not that big of a issue for me, I'll just wait.
I wasn't a fan of google voice. I use my phone mostly for sms and email messaging. It might be months before I have to make a call and I might not get another voicemail before summer. The first time the phone rang it caught me off guard.. I wasn't sure what that sound was.

I don't know about other people, but my hatred for it is how it hijacks your SMS without even asking. While this is fixable by removing the integration to the phone, it is still a pain in the ass and a lot of people don't know how to do that. And unfortunately, you have to do it every time you rebuild your phone. Not very convenient for a flash-aholic.

Well, the average user doesn't flash roms 24/7 so you can't really blame google for that. I kind of like having the SMS around because it just transcribes the message for me in a much easier location rather than having to put in my passcode, wait until it plays a message, etc.

It doesn't hijack anything! If you took the time and read the settings you'll see what I'm talking about.
DO NOT CLICK "Enable Google Voice on your Sprint phone".
DO CLICK "Activate Google voicemail on this phone"
It will give you instructions on how to easily set that up. Then use the Voice app as like you would Sprints.
If you "Enable Google Voice on your Sprint phone" it will intercept everything.

This. Don't enable Sprint integration, you'll have zero problems.

I already use it for business so cannot use it for personal phone. Visual Voicemail Plus works great.

Well not exactly the same. It's actually better as you get transcribed vm for free rather than paying sprint more money for that through vvm.

I do too. I use the Google number for all my Business Stuff. Forwards to my cell showing the Google voice number so I know when someone is calling from that line, I can also set a ring tone for that line too. Then I use the app to text with that line, see what number was that called and all voice mail. I set two different voice mail messages, one for my business line (default message). Then a message for ppl in my phone book that I know.

I updated to Version T.5.2.0.25 that came with FB09 for the Epic 4G Touch and that doesn't work either. Program launches fine, but it times out when trying to communicate with the server. I tried comparing files to files from a gingerbread rom (the visual voicemail app - vtt-sprint.apk) that worked and other then classes.dex and subjar.jardesc I didn't see anything obviously different.
Just poked around in the xml files and everything that has a address or port seems the same from one file to another.
Does anyone have a 4G touch with the new ICS Rom and have visual voicemail working? (it comes with the rom and is the latest build of visual voicemail)

My daughter has the epic touch, I'll hijack her phone (that is like cutting off an appendage) when ICS is released.

Someone will figure out how to get this to work.. its no longer crashing it just fails to communicate with the server. I'm thinking a app issue with either creating a connection or routing. is it kernel level, configuration or the app itself.. no idea. Of course it could be something server side that's saying.. this isn't gingerbread or lower, ignore it. Be interesting to run a packet sniffer on a GB phone with a 1st launch of vvm and see what's happening when it sets up and compare it to a ics launch of the app. Is it even trying to send the initial auth msg? Where's it getting held up?
Just throwing thoughts out there.. could be anything I guess.

I believe VVM needs a provisioning program that is compatible with ICS.

Any idea what? I have the epic touch ics rom that has the updated visual voicemail. Wonder what it needs.. I'm not afraid to install whatever to try to get it working. Wonder if I can email the dev and ask them.

Tried both 5.2.0.25 and 5.2.1.0 from the two Epic 4G Touch ICS leaks and still no luck with either on their own (restored data from my 5.2.0.24 backup to at least shut it up from trying to provision itself incessantly lol).
Since these versions are running on ICS I wonder if there is another piece we need besides just the APK. It was so easy to get VVM working on CM7 after all.

Have you tried booting to the EL30 thumb drive boot and updating profile and then following sprints steps? I wonder if its a profile issue? Does the app work on the other sprint phone that this was pulled from?
Try the troubleshooting steps below if you are not receiving your Visual Voicemail messages:
1. On your phone keypad, enter *38 and then press Talk to cancel any call forwarding
2. Turn off your phone, remove and reinsert the battery and then turn it back on
3. Update the data profile on your phone; go to Menu > Settings > System Updates > Update profile

So I would like to be able to use my CM10 SMS app to send messages using my google voice number. Is this possible? For example, now I have it set up so google voice messages go to my SMS app but they show up with a funky number instead of my contacts number AND if I send a reply it uses my tmobile number instead of my google voice number. Is there a way to integrate them better?

It's super unreliable and the developer has yet to get back to me.

Have you checked your Google Voice settings?
In the browser, after logging into Google Voice, go to settings.
Under "Calls" look for "Caller ID (outgoing)" and make sure "Display my Google Voice number" is selected.
Not sure why this option is under "Calls" but its clearly says "Note: this setting currently only applies to text messages; calls will be included soon."
Oh, and make sure under "Phones" in Settings you select "Receive text messages on this phone" under the forwarding phone you want text messages to come to.
This should clear up the "Funky" number your get..

I still get the funky number but at least now I can send from my Google Voice number.

GV SMS Integrator works great on older platforms. I believe it was said that it *might* work on CM builds for N4. Definitely does not work with stock N4 JB. Not sure if GoSMS would work.
The free trial version will nag you on every received message, but it will continue working. Definitely annoying enough to buy/uninstall.
Worked great on the HTC Sensation. Had it setup so it was completely seamless and transparent. No icon in the notification bar or popups etc.
Are you fixed on the stock SMS app, or do you just not like the GV app?
There are probably some other GV SMS apps now. I know Talkatone built it into their app, but that might not be to your liking..

When an SMS comes in with a funky number, I add it to the person's contacts entry with a custom tag of "GVoice", then I use the stock Messaging app to send SMS to them using that number. But until I learn a person's GVoice number, I have to use the Google Voice app to send SMS if I want it to come from my Google Voice number.

I just use the GV app for my texting instead of the built in messaging app. I wish Google with fix this and come up with better integration and allow group SMS and MMS to work properly. Even if they went to my gmail would be better than not getting anything.

GV integrator worked fine for me with GO SMS but I wasn't getting notifications. I have read in a couple of places that the developer has not been replying to people latley. The idea of the App is genius but needs a lot of developmental work.

The developer seemed to have abandoned the app and I don't know of any alternatives to route google voice to stock SMS or GoSMS with working notifications. Is there anything that we can do? Is there a place that we can suggest someone work on a similar app?
I bought GV integration, but I would buy another working app in a heartbeat if it were available to me.

Not sure what rom you're running but if you replace your stock mms app with this one (which came from AOKP) notifications should work with the GV SMS integrator app. You'll have to place it in /system/apps. Hope this helps.

wow, this actually worked! but i like the appearance of the cm10 messaging app better.

Thanks a lot. This version of MMS works well with the GV SMS integrator. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this to work because the native GV application is piss poor. I cannot believe how amazingly laggy it is on my N4, and I have no idea why there is no option to cache messages. I was shocked when I discovered how much better the iPhone version of GV is.

Glad it was of use to you! I completely agree with you about the Google voice native app. I really wish the developer of gv integrator hadn't abandoned the project. That's the only thing that's keeping me from spending the $5 on buying the full version.

Yeah, if I could reply to a message through the native notification pop up I would totally give this guy the $5. But it's a steep price for a half baked solution. I just keep hitting cancel when the notification to buy pops up.

Thanks for that. I've been trying to fix this for my wife's N4.

VERIZON Visual Voice Mail

Does even Basic VVM work for anyone here? Google Play let me install the app but when pressing the "Subscribe to Basic Visual Voice Mail" button, after a second or two it says to call Customer Service. I don't like dealing with those people. Yes I am unlocked and rooted now but I attempted this before unlocking the bootloader.

I have heard it's the same but never used Google Voice. I sold a LG G4 that I bought from Verizon and I was using Basic Visual Voicemail which was just listening to the message without dialing *86. Premium VVM was the same but would also write out the message in text but costs $2.99/mo. Does Google Voice do the same with out charging?

You can have it setup for google voice to do that yes. I have it setup that way myself. Works like a charm, i get a txt and a notification for a voicemail. Google voice works great as it integrates into your standard dialer perfectly.

Google Voice works great for me. I'm on a range extender asset my home/office. My VMM was useless. I dropped it and set-top my Google voice. I get my transcripts again. It also sets up if you press 1 in the dialer out will go to Google voice. Out seems to transcribe better than VMM as well. Best of all it is free.

I had Google Voice...once...I thought it was great until it just stopped working one day and nothing I tried could get it working again. NOTHING
Besides, reading a computerized render of what it thought someone said was a laugh most of the time. I just went back to normal voicemail. Works good enough.

Google voice has an app. You just open the app and see all your voicemails. Tap on one to hear it or tap and hold for more options like delete. There's a play button and while it's playing, you can pause or drag the position to any place in the message. Google tries to transcribe the message but as you can see, they mess it up pretty bad. It's kind of funny. Other than the transcribing, it's amazing, free, and goes with you to whatever phone you have, from whatever carrier, as long as you keep that Gmail account. You can get your messages from any computer, too.

I can't get my visual voicemail working, using the Motorola app. I called Verizon to get them to enable the service (basic free service) so I no longer get the call customer service message. However, calls do not go to my voicemail, it just keeps ringing and ringing, even if I dismiss or reject the call. The phone will ring and ring, until the person on the other end of the line hangs up.
Has anyone successfully got this app working?

I was getting the thing to call them but rather than do that I just waited until my current bill went out and then payed it as to ensure they did not have any holds on my account. After they got their money yesterday I tried today and the moto app suddenly worked and did not prompt me to call them, instead saying that service will start working in about 5min.

Check previous replies here.. I did not, but some are having luck. Instead I went with Google Voice to handle my voicemail and is the same as Verizon's Premium Visual Voicemail without the cost.

I did the same but still couldn't get it to work. Spoke with Verizon twice, Even lost all voicemail including *86 voicemail for a couple of days.

Yea after waiting I launched the app again and went though the setup steps but after finishing them it just sits on Setting up visual voicemail forever.

Mine did the same thing for a while. After a few restarts I got it to set up properly. Now it shows my voicemail like it should, but it doesn't pick up any calls. In other words, I now have no voicemail service. It just keeps ringing and ringing if I use another phone to call myself. If you've got yours setup since your last post, can you see if you have the same issue?

No even after multiple restarts it just keeps loading for me.

Ok I cleared the data in my phone and then launched the app and it worked.

Tested by calling my phone and it works great. However for some reason when leaving a message from my moms phone the VM was very quiet but all my others sound fine so must be an issue with her phone.
