[Q] Has any one upgraded to arc from galaxy s? should I? - Xperia Arc General

Hello I am thinking I may upgrade to the arc from my galaxy s. I can get a new arc for £288 and im guessing I can sell my galaxy s for around £200? so would mean £88 to upgrade.
If you have done this what are your experiences?
From the looks of it I assume it will have comparable performance and a bigger screen so nicer for web browsing.
Does the arc have tv out and does it work with a wiimote? e.g. can I use it as a snes (something I always wanted to do with my galaxy s but wiimote never worked)
Also what are your genreal thoughts what is better and worse.
Thanks a lot

First why do you want a uprade?
The arc en galaxy are almost the same in hardware. both have almost the same benchmarking. I used them both and here under are the biggest differences that i see:
- screen of arc is good with bravia engine, and screen is also bigger.
- picture tajing is almost the same in day but the arc takes better pictures at night.
- Arc has 8MP and the Galaxy has 5MP picture
- arc has 300mb for app installation the Galaxy has 1GB
- galaxy has 16GB internal storage
- arc has led for flash
-Arc has HDMI out, Galaxy has tv-out
just thethings that are popping in my head

Thanks for the help. That's pretty much what I was thinking and to me there both about the same.
The only reason I am looking is I have a discount voucher so I can get the arc for that price. I don't think I will bother. prob wait for a full hd phone with quad core, that would probably be nice.

HELP: Getting a Galaxy... But which one?!?

Now that the prices have fallen somewhat, I've decided to get a Samsung Galaxy 2 to use alongside my regular cellphone. (Guess I just like variety, heh) but the problem is... WHICH ONE?!?
The stores where I live offer a couple of different models:
GT9100 SII
The "normal" Galaxy S2 with the awesome SAMOLED screen and dual core 1.2 Ghz CPU.
GT9103 Galaxy R
(Almost) same screensize 4.2 inches instead of 4.3. And it has a Super Clear LCD screen, along with a 5MP camera and a 1Ghz Tegra2 CPU. The price is 50$ cheaper. And I gotta say, I like the design of this one quite a bit better than the SII.
Does anybody know how the screen quality and camera quality compares to the original Galaxy2? (I know that the camera has fewer MP, but is it actually better or worse in terms of quality?) How would you say that the CPU compares with the Exynos?
GT9001 Galaxy Plus
It has a 1.4 Ghz single core CPU and a 4 inch SAMOLED screen. I gotta say that I like the size a little better than the 4.2/3 inches screen. Personal preference I guess. But how does the original SAMOLED screen compare with the SAMOLED Plus screen in the SGII? And would I feel a difference in speed IRL considering that it's a singlecore CPU that's clocked almost 50%. Finally, how would this compare in regards to batterylife?
This phone is almost 200$ cheaper than the two other options above: Around 500$ here.
Given the above choices, which one would you go for? And does anybody have experience with the Galaxy Plus or Galaxy R?!?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Get the gs2.
Why would you even want to buy the galaxy plus?

another vote for any of the variety of SGS2 that you can get your hands on
Go for the SGS2.....not just because it has better specs in every respect, but also because it'll most likely get the best support/ROMs etc on XDA.
However, there's annoucement from Samsung next week possibly regarding Nexus Prime so you may want to hold your horses else you may regret later.

Note vs Sgs2

Hi guys,
I want to buy Galaxy note but first want ti know some things about Note.
At this moment i have Sgs2 and want to know how much is Note better then Sgs2...
Faster,smoother,,etc,,
Please help me to decide.
Tnx

Better battery , bigger screen. If you use your phone while commuting, prone to dropping get the s2 since it is palm size that can maybe save it from dropping. Note is almost as big as my palm and I consider my palm to be bigger then normal

Well, despite having 1.4Ghz CPU instead of 1.2Ghz do not expect it to be faster. Remember, the same GPU has to deal with a resolution screen of 1280x800 instead of 800x480. EDIT: It has gone from a 0.38 megapixel screen to a 1.02mp...
It needs to work harder when surfing the web, for example.
Coming from the Galaxy S2, my feeling, more than speedier, I would say the software feels more stable, better battery saving -remember although bigger screen, the bigger battery drain when truly using it!-.
Swaping a SGSII for a Note for Speed improvements does not seem very good idea to me.
It never feels slow by any strech of imagination, but it is very hard to say those 200Mhz play any roll outside of benchmarks.
The browser feels faster, but I am pretty sure it has more to do with software improvements (last update was really good).
Think of the Note as a replacement for both your smartphone and a tablet.
YEAH..tnx guys..
I know everything about Note ..reason why i ask...
Sgs 2 have 1.2ghz..right and Htc sensation have 1.2.too but in real life sgs2 is much faster then Htc.
I just want to be sure that the Note faster then Sgs2..
I saw some videos and i saw lags on Note.So just because of that i ask.
Also..what about cam and recording..quality..photo..?

Video n photo capturing is faster n smoother. Playback looks much better due to screen real estate. I came from sgs2 n no regret getting it. It was laggy when i first got it. After kies updated it to the latest firmware, it has no more lag. And in my very humble opinion, i think the memory management is much better too. Coming from custom rom, i don't see the need to flash it unless you absolutely just want to try it out or you r a seasoned flasher.

Galaxy Note is faster than Galaxy S 2 on some benchmarks, browermark for example. I choosed the Note for the 5.3" screen, nothing else. I use the device mostly for reading so a big screen is the determinant factor.
If you use the phone to play music, you can be better off with a smaller one, with 64 GB integrated ROM but smaller screen. If you use it to talk and send SMS, then maybe a phone with physical keyboard would be better. There's no perfect phone for everybody.
What I can tell you is that the camera on the galaxy note is very good, better than a Kodak Camera I had on 2006. The GPS is the best I've seen. Yesterday I compared it to a Galaxy S II, inside a train and the Note got more satellites every time.
Of course you have to deal with the size of this thing, you can barely hold it on one hand (depends on your hand size, not recommended for a girl). The battery lasts longer despite the bigger screen. The screen is very bright and does not have a blue tint like my old Galaxy S.
,,no i need that phone because of internet and email..i dont play games ,music etc.
Thank you guys i decide,,,,NOTE IS MY NEXT PHONE.

Hi there.
Just to add to your post. I have both S2 and Note. In my case, both are performing very good in their respective area. Finally, I settled for the Note and give the S2 to my wife. She loves it especially the camera and the screen. This is her 1st experience with Android since she is so used to Nokia phone. It took about a week for me to convince her to use the S2 and finally she is happy with it. We (me and my wife) do not play games with the phone. So I can't really answer for gaming things. But for internet browsing, music, camera, email, social networking(facebook/twitter etc), both S2 and Note are a class of their own. Go for it and you will not regret the decision. By the way, you will love the S-pen that comes with the Note.

Morisa

I went from a GS2 to a Note and the difference for me was like night and day. The Note sometimes begins to bog down, but I've found that a shutdown/restart once a day keeps this to a minimum. This issue aside it is without a doubt the best device I've ever seen - the screen is an absolute joy, and the S-pen is more useful than you might think.
By contrast, going from a Desire HD to the GS2 left me feeling disappointed - I'm afraid I thought the GS2 was pretty mediocre.

Totallyyy heavily confused between s3 and note ! !

Hey guys i need your help urgently ! !
I am in a big trouble of buying a smartphone. My 2 choices are galaxy s3 and note.
these are the points that i like about each:-
galaxy s3:-
1.Best performance
2.Lots of added features
3.one of the best camera with burst mode too
4.Great battery life
5.WOLFSON
galaxy note:-
1.bigger better screen imo(its brightness is about 100 cd/m2 more than s3)
I know that s3's ppi is better but that mere 15ppi doesnt mean anything to me
2.Its by far much better looking than s3
3.spen
My main reason for loving the note more than the s3 is its SCREEN.Its sooo bigger and hence better for browsing, gaming, movies etc.
So here my maib questions are:-
1.Is the performance soo much better on s3 than note, specially the gpu?
because i love gaming and the gpu performance is what i need the most ! !
2.I heard and have seen that the ui of s3 so fluent that its now on par with iphone? Then how will be the ui of note?
3.how will be the browser comparision between s3 and note?
I am in hurry for gettibg one because in india we have some offer for note,in which samsung gives sennhieser headphone, flip cover,3000(60usd) games totally for free and this offer experies on 31st may.So what to choose?Even the note 2 will be launched in may be september,so is buying note good idea?
so plzzzzzz help meeeeeeee. . ... ...
thankx to all in advance....
Don't get note for now. I think you should get the best Samsung out there aka s3.
Sent from my HTC One X on Leedroid's ROM v5.1.0.
you should simply go for s3 , it beats note on all aspects except the screen size(if you like the bigger screen).
s3 packs the most powerful gpu for a mobile that are released so far.
Mate go for what you like at the end of the day, You're getting the phone for your needs. Just get the one you think is best suited for you ...
Ya all of you are right.I should be going for s3,but i think that the s3 is a bit narrow on the display front, isnt it? and may be thats why the resolution differ on both i.e 720p vs 800p?
BTW i am currently a s8500 user,i know the s3 will be the right jump for me but is the screen that too smaller than the note?
Personally, I'd go for the newer, better spec'd SIII over the Galaxy Note.

Well it's 0.5 inch smaller than the note. That means around 1.25cm in diagonal range. On a phone it's obvious if you put them next to each other but otherwise I think you will be really happy with S3's screen.
Also just to add to your first post regarding the specs... S3 has C-Pen, it's almost identical to note's S-Pen. Just so you know

If screensize is really important to you take the note or wait until Note 2. The size of the note is imo much bigger. Look at youtube videos aka note vs gs3, there are plenty of them. There you will see it.
I have the same problem atm and I think I will wait for the note 2. But I don't know whether I the Note can replace my ipad for browsing...

I'm sorry but I really hate these types of responses. It doesn't offer the OP any real advice either way. He's asking specific questions about performance and quality and answers like this don't tell him anything.
Edit: OP, get the S3 and don't look back. It'll have much better dev support as well, being a flagship device.
Herp derp Captivate XDA Premium App.
Easy, get the Note now, enjoy that big ass screen. Then get the Note 2 and sell the old one.
I hope the Tmobile SGS Note comes with the S4 processor....
I had the Note and I'm planning to get the SIII. I think if you are a business or artistic kind of guy or use EverNote or have other uses for the wacom pen should be your main reason for getting it.

You can refer to these benchmarks for now, the Note will be slower, but for real world usage it fast enough to perform any mobile tasks, due to the dualcore Exynos at 1.4ghz. It has the same Mali GPU as the S3, you shouldn't miss out much on the gaming side. I'd say inevitably the S3 will perform faster for gaming, but I don't think will big enough of a difference to matter (besides the typical nerds bragging rights).
Games will still look nicer on the Note big screen. Another advantage with its large screen is if you use onscreen gamepads a lot, you have large area to move your thumbs so the controls seems to register better. It's decent enough that I can play a lot of 'classic' games without needing a physical controller. I think the S3 will be on par too though since its a big screen too.

Do not worry about screen brightness for either devices, both Note and S3 will be very bright with these AMOLED screens. The Note at 100% brightness is equivalent to staring at the Sun.

I don't have an SIII yet, so I don't know. As for the Note, if you have lots of stuff installed on a non-rooted Stock rom, there will be some lag in animation with touchwiz interface, but if you custom rom and use a lighter launcher, its smooth. It also have ICS now, so that might improve things.
3.how will be the browser comparision between s3 and note?

I don't know, I don't have the S3 yet, there are new software features and improvements with the S3. But large screen of the Note is a winner here obviously to me, text will be just a bit bigger, sometimes you don't even need to zoom in. It is possible that the S3 can render webpages faster, but I don't know.
Overall, it will be a hard choice, if depends on how much cheaper you can get a Note over the new S3, if you can save at least $200USD by getting the Note over the S3 than its a good deal. If you enjoy large screen estate go for Note, its easier for reading and watching HD movies on it is fantastic. It has excellent camera, great battery life (2500mAh, ICS as well, and better look (imo). If I was someone who already have a Nexus or Note (international), I would not upgrade to the S3, unless I have money to burn. I will get the S3 though since I always want to try the latest stuff and it has some interesting new software features that I don't think Samsung will port to older models because they want you to buy their latest phones.
Same "dilemma" except I have the Note.....I say BUY the Note USED.....try it then decide. You can't lose too much. I have never bought a new International device. Probably won't with the S3 either.
I love the Note's screen. In fact that is the reason I bought one. I still have a back up SGS2 but will sell that when I get the S3 and use the Note as a back up to our phones. The DAC is what tipped the scales for me. I had an iTouch mounted to my bike and had plugged in my earbuds to it when I went for longs rides. (and short ones) The Captiave, SGS2 and Note relagated my iTouch 4 to permant duty on my nightstand alarm where it inevr gets used as my phones also are my alarm clocks.......Be really nice to have some VooDoo Sound again. (Although VooDoo Louder came in handy on my bike.)
I am HOPING I won't miss the screen size of the Note and the trade offs for the many benefits the S3 has to offer in may other areas are worth it. Such as the ease of pocket carrying ( I LIKE the rounded corners LOL) , the many additional features, The Pen is something I do use and will use more since flashing to official ICS as it is virtually no lag anymore.
The SGS2 screen is too small for me anymore. I am not going back there. I think a slightly smaller screen will work better ergonomically.
I have no issue with using the phone with two hands although ICS now has "one hand mode" for the Note" where the keyboard and dialer are rendered smaller and moves to the left in effect giving on the same size as an S2 or iPhone.
Then the Note 2 may or may not come out if those using Note find the S3 covers all the bases well enough.

This is one article talking about that pen. I think there is an actual photo of that pen somewhere.
I think we are talking for 2 really nice phones here but if you would ask me, I would choose SGS3 since it has better screen (pixel density and other improvements).
For me if the gs3 supports the pen feature...then its gonna b my next phone

Guys i tried a lot for convincing myself to go for the s3,but my heart doesnt allow me for that Its still crying for the 5.3 inch hd samoled
So plz tel me how will be the gaming performance on both?
The main reason bothering much is now its the quadcore season so many apps will be made accordingly for the quadcores......So can i still be able to play those highly graphich demanding games at a good fps on note?
Only the processor is the factor that is stopping me from getting galaxy note! !
I will go for GS3. But, I still have a soft corner for Note. I will suggest OP to wait for Note 2.
Here's my reasons -
I suspect (no insider information, purely connecting dots) Note 2 will have Exynos 5 SoC. I think Exynos 5 just went into mass production in Q2, and was never ready for being implemented into SGS3.
We definitely can expect incremental update in Note's screen. So, either it would be HD SAMOLED PLUS or something like a PenTile 1600 x 1000 resolution keeping the aspect ratio same as OG Note.
But the most important factor could be Samsung huge marketing and developer push for S Pen apps.
They now have a $ 4million prize money for Note and Tab apps. Just a month back they had another S Pen app contest.
http://www.smartappchallenge.com/eng/main.do
You could be getting much better Pen apps.
In either case, both phones will have great support and winner in their own respect.
The note has much more of a "tablet-esque" functionalities to it with handwriting recognition and such.
S3 has only standard android handset features plus the newly demoed items which are unrelated to a tablet style larger screen interface.
For me the question you need to be asking is "do i need tablet functionality and screen size more than i need processing/graphics power and the new added features in S3's touchwiz (smartstay, svoice etc)?"

Huh? I think the answer is clear which phone you want.
It would be extremely handy to have som release information on the next Note, now. I am considering getting that instead of the SGS 3. I have the SGS 2 and the only thing I miss is screen real estate. And lots of it

[q] g note or sgs3???

Hi all,
i am looking to buy something new, i recently sold my xperia play and bb playbook, i have had iphones, sgs2 in the past and recently a htc one x but returned it because of build quality issues,
im choosing between either:
g note in white, unlocked with flip case and car dock for £350
or
galaxy s3 on contract which will work out to be just over £600
any advice guys? is the note priced ok? any problems to watch out for? etc..
thanks in advance
My thoughts are: Have you used a G note, its hard to go back to smaller screens, i myself was checking on the htc one x , but it felt so small too. and sg3 have the same sice of screen. As of performance, i hardly ever use even half of the performance in my g note, although i never play games, maybe its there you get use of 4core.
Hell, since i bought my note, i hardly use my laptop =)
You get alot bang for the buck if you ask me.
But, like the rest of us, we all want the newest pieses always =)
/snabben
Considering all the S3 features that devs are porting over to the Note, as well as all the dev momentum the Note has now, along with the fact that it has a bigger and higher resolution screen than the S3, not to mention the S-Pen, plus the one you're looking at is unlocked and off-contract AND cheaper? Yeah, I think this is a no-brainer. Get the GS3.
Kidding of course! Seriously though, the Note is a beast. Get the Note.
The note has a superior sized screen and most of the GS3 apps etc ported over and working. No brainer springs to mind.

I love my Note. Best feature is its screen. Its great that its so big. But its worst feature is that its screen is so big to hold. Bit of a conpromise.
There are things i can't do with the Note cause its so big. Namely one handed use. The S3 is probably small enough to get my thumb across the screen probably as the biggest phone to allow it. S pen is great sometimes. Web pages with that little extra width is great.
Specs are close enough to ignore. Its all on extra width convenience versus too wide for one hand use. Test the feel and see how you feel. Note versus GS3 plus iPad? ;-)

Urm...easy! The Note is 250 quid cheaper and a great phone if the size suits.
I would definitely say the note!! But isn't asking this question in the Gnote section already answering the question?
No offence.... but asking between the note and an S3 on a note forum is a little silly... clear bias....
In fairness though, I've played with the S3 a bit and I'm not a fan... the phone feels quite cheap material wise and the new touchwhiz still doesn't please me. The screen although lower resolution is slightly better in some areas which is nice... since there aren't many real quad core streamlined applications currently I think its a bit early in the fight to really rule out its power... that being said, for normal day to day use you won't notice any real difference.... I doubt quad core will pay dividends until Jelly Bean....
In the end, the community for the S3 will be fantastic and support will outlive the Note on its name alone...
Personally I'm going to stick with the Note. I prefer the larger screen and the hardware is still up there with the better handsets... the community ROMs are flying and the development community as a whole is fantastically supportive.
I guess the questions you should be asking yourself are:
- Do you want/need a bigger screen?
- Are you willing to wait 6 months to a year for the extra performance to really bare fruit?

so far google has already mentioned that the ICS browser can support quad core. plus, nvidia has been pushing devs to improve support for quad core in their games, and you can leech off that support with chainfire3d.
and also, s3 is running on 32nm tech whereas we're stuck on 45nm tech. even if you dont use the extra processing power of quad core, we still cant compare with the fact that the s3 can shut down inactive cores, and will use less power and produce less heat for the same tasks as a result of the smaller manufacturing process.
so if he uses browsers and plays high quality games, he can take advantage of the processing power now. and if he doesnt, he can take advantage of the improved battery life. dont need to wait 6 months for that.

galaxy s3 has 4.8inch screen with 16:9 ratio. so its more or less the same size as our screen except not as wide (or tall if you're looking at it widescreen). movies are generally encoded at 16:9 or 2.35:1. ie. its going to look more or less the same on either screen since 16:9 movies will have black bars on our notes and 2.35:1 movies will have black bars on both devices.
Ill be honest and realistic here.
If you are a "normal" user and like to mess around with your device a bit, and want the fastest, most powerful device for average use, like games here and there, phone calls, sms, etc, get the S3.
If you "love" to mess around with your device(like me) want the biggest and most badass screen, big battery "device" not only phone, get the note. For me, my note is my personal game system, communication device, a mini laptop if you may, that also happens to make calls and texts, and its the perfect device for me.

Do you regret buying a Galaxy Note?

So, with all of the fuss around the Galaxy S3, potentially a new iPhone and other quad-core phones bustling out onto the market, I have had one or two people ask me as to whether or not I regret purchasing a Galaxy Note considering that it only features a dual-core processor and may not even get Jelly Bean unlike S3 which is almost guaranteed to. So, do you regret purchasing the Note and wished you'd gotten an S3/other device instead or not? I, personally, love my Galaxy Note. I couldn't afford both a tablet and phone, so this fills that gap perfectly. The S3 has admittedly got better processing power, but the Note is still the only phone which has true 1080P resolution screen (as far as I am aware).

Not a bit. I came from a SGS2, and haven't looked back. And what's this rubbish about not getting JB? We'll have JB quite soon; have you seen the news about CM10?
Note is not 1080p (1920x1080), it's 1280x800, which is still great. It has a higher pixel density than the iPad3.
If I had known 'bout the emmc brick bug, I may have bought a nexus.
I mean it does get updates super fast and all.
But weather I regret it or not,
well I don't.
Nope, best phone I've ever owned. Imported from Germany as soon as available for way too much.
Fast, beautiful screen and great size. I actually wouldn't mind a bit bigger. I hope they don't muck up version 2 too much.
My only regret on the Note is the EMMC bug. I mean, what the heck! we paid the phone more than 700usd when it was released and we get a bug in the official firmware that can brick this expensive phone for good!! This is completely unacceptable....but I will still get the Note 2 just because of the large screen!
The Note can be compared ONLY to another Galaxy Note, which does not exist.
Criskelo 4.04 ICS LRG v9, LRB Modem, speedmod k3-9 kernel, Carrier: AT&T (US)
Not at all. No other phone has 5,3" amoled screen - i dont really care about quad-core, dual core is enough at the moment for me.
Brick bug is the only flaw with this entire device.

Not a bit. I came from a SGS2, and haven't looked back. And what's this rubbish about not getting JB? We'll have JB quite soon; have you seen the news about CM10?
Note is not 1080p (1920x1080), it's 1280x800, which is still great. It has a higher pixel density than the iPad3.

Don´t regret it one bit,all this rubbish that its to big and won´t fit in your pocket is just bul***it,had it in ever paar of jeans I own with no probs.Used to own a HTC HD2(r.i.p:cryingwhen that came out it was the biggest phone on the market at that time and now.....its standard with the size and now when I get a phone that size I think...hmmm...a bit small Software,ok a few problems to begin with but now with 4.0.4,TOP :good: Played with an S3 for a while but it didn´t turn me on a bit were as with the Note...100% pure sex
The Note has a resolution from 1280x800 but records at 1920x1080 and has a max. video output of 1920x1080 full HD.

I never have a problem putting it into my pockets (normal fitting jeans) and sometimes carry 2 phones in the same pocket at the same time (Note plus either the Epic 4G/Nexus S 4G).
LOVE my Note. I've been owning it for over 4 months now and it still runs just as good as the day I bought it and I'm still on GB (stock but rooted). Heck it has been so good even while stock, I still run TW launcher! I also own a Nexus S 4G and Epic 4G (on Sprint, work phones) and I still default to my Note for just about anything that I don't do on my laptop. I also own an HP Touchpad (bought during the firesale has WebOS and CM on it) and ever since I've had the Note, I rarely use it, now mainly my kids play with it. The Note truly is the best all-in-one device. The only thing is the eMMC bug which I've hesitated updating to ICS, but even on GB it does everything I need it to do. If/when Sprint carries the Note 2, then I'll upgrade then. Heck I am already upgrade eligible on Sprint, but rumors of a Note 2 announcement on August 30 is making me sit on my upgrade until a Note 2 is released on Sprint.
Nope. Best device I've ever owned.
Never going back to CDMA, either. Love the flexibility GSM affords me.

If you're going to regret buying something because something (arguably) better gets released 8 months later,
then you might as well not buy anything at all.

You kind of had to know before hand that purchasing this would be outdated slightly since the s3 was due out for five months down the line. Plus Samsung treats the galaxy note line as if it were a [email protected]@rd orphan child that gets it hand me down.
It's a bigger phone so give me better specs dammit.
The firmware update mishaps , crappy battery ... need I say more?
It would be hilarious if the owners of xda launched a public service announcement national commercial listing evening wrong with the galaxy note.

.... If I were to change the note.... Longer battery life, maybe, more accurate pen in horizontal position, camera button, less mega pixel camera with bigger photo receptors, pen out light, more ram, and steel case to attach a chain to it so people can't ever steal my awesome awesome phone/star trek Data pad.
I'm future proof until 3d ar glasses come out.
Not even for a second, quad core phones are useless really, im glad things are moving forward and eventually quadcore will be utilized, but the only thing that could possible use al that processing power on phones is games, and there isn't asingle game out there tha exclusively for the power of quadcore, all the high spec games run fine on dualcore phones. So im not in any rush to upgrade ill upgrade after 12 months of having the note which is december. Hopefully the note 2 :-D

I won't be upgrading the Note till mid-2013 roughly, but I love my Note too so no worries.
I regret reading and replying to this thread.
Yes I do, for the simple reason that as soon as I went an bought mine, Samsung announced its successor, thereby making me spend more on the older model than I need have, and preventing me from buying the new one as soon as it comes out.:crying:
But then that's just how my luck runs.
C'est la vie....
I bought the note three weeks ago, so way after the s3 announcement. Had the s2 up to then. Made the choice because the s3 does not feel or look so nice (imo) and does not feel like a decent upgrade (don't get me wrong I do think it's the best phone out there, just not a huge upgrade to the s2).
The Note feels like a true upgrade, despite being basically the same specs, because screeeeeeen
