Cannot restore - In usb host mode - Vega General

Hey guys,
so yesterday I installed corvagusrom, when I plugged in my keyboard the whole thing crashed.
Now when I boot I get a BSOD. The problem is, the tablet is still in usb host mode, so I cannot use the offical advent vega update tool to restore, nor can I use adb.
How can I restore this?

Booting into recovery using the back and power button sequence bypasses any usb host mode settings as android isn't loading at that point. Then you can recover to stock 1.09 and start again.

THanks but i've tried that, however still all i get is a black screen, it somehow won't allow me to start the update tool.
USB device not foundPress enter....

nothing appears on the screen in recovery not even the backlight boot up whilst plugged in and charging fro nv flash (back2 power2 wait for bleep) make sure you have the correct drivers installed

I have the same the problem but i get the backlight with the green android logo in the middle,is that the BSOD or something different?

"New" HTC Magic

I recently purchased an android phone used, and it was pre-rooted.
I'm trying to get it back to stock firmware, as I hit reset data and now it won't boot. I have do the volume-down key fastboot menu and the home+power recovery options, but I have no idea howto restore it to original firmware from Rogers.
When plugging into the computer, it fails to properly install the usb drivers aswell, maybe because I cant boot the phone normally?
I'm really new at this, which is why I want to go to stock, thus I can relearn everything from scratch.
Also, on a side note, anyone know a place to get a replacement LCD screen, or a means of connecting the digitizer that has the ribbon-cable connection part of the lcd screen missing?
Cheers,
Bobbo
I would suggest you download the original rom and then load the original SW using recovery. Press "home and the start button and hold until the recovery menu comes up.
As for installing the ADB, you may not have installed the proper USB driver.....
check to see if your computer recognises the phone....
If not, you can manually install the USB driver.
Awesome, managed to finally restore the original Rogers firmware.
Now I'm getting an error when I try and launch the phone. android.process.acore stopped.
I can get text messages and wifi works, but the phone app crashed each time I try and load it. Any ideas?

The only way I could get it to work was the following; however there is one thing to try before you try my way because mine did this also - after the wipe and flash with flashtool etc. The only way I found to get out the bootloop was to do a factory restore after when its looping. So from the boot screen loop hold the power button until it goes off then on then off again.
Then do the process to get into the recovery so hold down and power then release power as soon as the lg logo appears (first one) then press it again immediately that SHOULD get ya to the grey factory reset screen. Press the power button 3 x and it should do a factory restore and boot up this time. First boot may take a minute it should eventually start up.
Failing that try this - Open the lg mobile support tool and connect the phone in download mode (volume up and power with plugged in usb on mine) then go to options and upgrade recovery. it will download a file usually about 2GB then install it, the phone will reboot at 100% on the phone and 80ish% on the lg tool it will then start into the setup feature,
DO NOT disconnect the phone until it gets to 100% and finishes. This way you shouldn't need to do an extra factory reset.
I understand for this the phone needs to be seen on com 4 (it shows on the phone screen) so if necessary go into device manager with the phone still plugged in in download mode and select com ports then select the phone com port then right click >properties> advanced and change the com port to 4. It may tell u its already being used but don't worry it is fine. Save and exit device manager.
please bare in mind these are just my experiences on MY LG D802 however its worked every single time for me without fail and ive done it a good few lol.

help pls, nexus 4 softbricked

Hi guys,
I had Pure nexus rom installed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-pure-nexus-project-layers-t3237366
and everything worked fine for weeks. Yesterday I noticed that my nexus 4 is using battery too much, without any reason.. Then my phone turned off, try to restart but it was stuck on google logo. At that point there was 20 or 30% battery left. I boot it to recovery, wipe everything and tried to restore factory settings, cos I didnt have any backup on phone. But again it was stuck on google logo.
So now I cant boot it cos there's no system installed on it, basicaly there is nothing on my phone. I tried Nexus Root Toolkit, but my pc dont recognize my phone, when I boot to recovery it's still the same, so I cant install drivers..
At this point, I have no idea what to do.. Can anyone help pls?
Thx
Can you get into fastboot? Are you using Win7? Tried different USB ports and cables?

Thx for quick reply !
Yes, I'm using win7 64x, I tried all usb ports and 3 different cables and nothing. I can get into fastboot and recovery, but pc still don't recognize anything..
i am currently under the same situation
only difference is i can still fastboot and flash a recovery (twrp for that matter)
afterwards, when booting to recovery - i can install a rom
once the rom is installed, reboot does not boot into the ROM and instead just displays the google logo - then vibrates a little - then the screen turns off
I just tried on 2 other win7 pc's, still nothing.. Nexus root toolkit just can't establish adb/fastboot connection..
edit: other thing I tried is to copy ROM file on usb stick, and then connect usb stick with micro usb cable to phone, and when I'm in recovery (twrp 3.0.2-0) there is just ''internal storage'' option.. Is that normal, should twrp see external USB drive? Cos I'm thinking that maybe something is wrong with usb charging port (I replaced that board month ago).
Hi,
I have a similar problem:
I had my mobile in working condition and once when upgrading the OS to 5.0.1, it downloaded the OS and was upgrading. During that process, the charge got over and hence the phone was shutdown. There after, it was not proceeding further from Google screen when trying to reboot. So, i thought battery is dead and replaced the battery with a new one. Now, i am getting the following problem:
The phone doesn't turn on(not even getting GOOGLE screen now). But, If I keep holding power button and Volume down button and try to insert the charging cable immediately then i get the boot menu but it wont stay there for even a second and goes to GOOGLE logo screen and gets shut down. Please help me with this.
Hi guys,
I menaged to fix the problem, my problem was charging port (smal L shaped board) that I replaced month ago. That's why there was no connection.
I got another one this morning from ebay, and Nexus Root Toolkit established connection immediately.

That looks like a stuck power button.
Try just holding the volume down button and plugging the charger.
If you see the fastboot screen, you have a stuck power button.
Just experienced this issue on a Nexus 5 and I was able to recover from it by "massaging" the power button for a while.

Recovery img flashed to boot partition - hard or soft brick?

Hey guys, I have a samsung galaxy s7 edge SM-9350. I was able to get root access and get the TWRP app. I was attempting to flash the TWRP recovery image, but I accidentally flashed the to the boot partition instead of recovery. After rebooting, I cannot boot the phone. When I hold the power/volume up button I get the option to select recovery/fastboot/normal boot modes, but no matter which one I select, the phone doesn't seem to boot. Do I have any options? I'm not sure if this qualifies as a hard or soft brick.
I have also tried to go into download mode, by holding the power/home/volume down, but that just seems to enter a boot loop. The screen illuminates, but remains black for a while, then shuts down.
The furthest I get into any sort of developer/interaction with the phone is being able to select between Recovery, Fastboot, or Normal modes.
I'm looking for the general search terms to start with. I've rooted my nexus/htc devices before and soft bricked, but was always able to get back via Fastboot/Recovery. This is the first time I've not been able to get into either. Is there some method I can use via the micro SD card maybe?

Install PC SmartSwitch app and try the Emergency firmware recovery option
If that doesn't work then you may need a Samsung Repair centre

Ugg... I had installed Smart Switch, but it doesn't recognize that my phone is plugged into the PC.
It looks like in order for it to work my phone has to be in Download mode or Recovery mode, depending on what guide I read.
And I can't get into either mode at all
Thanks for the response!

I assume Odin doesnt recognise the phone in any situations?
That's correct. My windows PC with the Samsung drivers no longer recognizes that a device is plugged in. I just tried a USB jig. Pins 4 and 5 of the microusb joined with a 300k ohm resistor and it still doesn't go into download mode.

Sadly you probably need a samsung repair centre
Please let me know how you get on with a fix
Does Odin not recognise the phone when you put it in to download mode ?? i used Kies to recover the firmware rather than smartswitch although Kies tells you to use smartswitch it still let me use it to doe the firmware recovery.

Samsung sm-t580 infinity boot problem

I'm having this problem on my samsung tab sm-t580, it's in an infinite loop as you can see in the video. I can only enter donwload mode if I have the tablet connected to the computer and if I disconnect the cable the tablet shuts down, every time I tried to install twrp through odin it always gave me an error and I couldn't. Someone can help me?

Well it looks to me like you've destroyed your partitions or partition info, probably when trying to flash TWRP. It was probably for a different model. If you can get to download mode you have a chance. If you cant get to download mode:
Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
Also, I'd stop trying to flash TWRP. I think that's your problem. Since it seems you can get to download mode while connected to the computer, stay there and flash your stock ROM first. Be sure to use the Odin Re-Partition option since I believe your partitons are messed up (see the attached picture), it wont hurt anything as you're going to re-flash your OEM firmware. That should restore your booting to normal. Then, as I mentioned, find the correct TWRP, one that has been confirmed by more than one person to work with your T-580. Make sure that you can reboot several times to the stock ROM and then try get to recovery from the buttons or adp.
I am building some 30 pin JIGs that are designed to force download mode immediately after power is turned on. These are widely available, or used to be, for the micro USB port on other Samsung Android devices, but I haven't found any for the 30 pin connector so I am making my own. These will be available by the end of October 2021 on eBay once I confirm they are working as expected.
Good luck!
