Hi,
is there any step to change CPU frequencies range used by fugumod 2.2 BE 1300 ?
I figured out my CPU is probably not 100% stable at 1300 MHz .It should work many hours without crash or few mins only.Weird ...
Now I have 1000 Mhz and looks like without any problem
I want find usefull limit (1100,1200 Mhz), but it is possible 1000 or 1300 only
Can someone provide me with right steps, mean what file edit, what command etc ...
many thanks
noone ? Are you kidding me ? :-o

Yeah am new To xda and i want to overclock my defy @ 1.2 ghz ... and whenever
i try to overclock above 1000 mhz it starts heating upto 43 degrees... plz give me the overclocking values @ stable ... and is this overheating do serious damage to phones hardware!.....! thanks
My setting :
300 Mhz / 30 Vsel
600 Mhz / 42 Vsel
800 Mhz /50 Vsel or 900 Mhz / 54 Vsel
1.0 Ghz / 58 Vsel or 1.2 Ghz / 66 Vsel
You can use this setting without any risk. 1.2 Ghz is the original value of OMAP 3630 on Droid2.
But i think you have another problem on your phone (something running) to get 43° for your battery. Mine is allways between 30° and 37° max running at 1.2 GHZ...
Note : original Defy+ settings = 300/33 ; 600/48 ; 800/58 ; 1000/68

300mhz @ 26Vsel

1200 mhz @ 58 Vsel
what vsel do u use for 1ghz?
For 1.2ghz try using a low vsel and test if it works. Keep increasing it by 1 until it is stable.
For my phone the minimum it could handle wihtout crashing immediately is 56. Its pretty stable at 58 and for games or if i need more stability i try to raise it to 60-64. But it starts heating faster
i use 48 for 1 ghz its rock stable as it never crashed ...
minez - 320 at 17 ,,, 650 at 38 ,,, 1.2GHz at 60 ..... very stable
Mine is:

very stable and not too much heating
Mine is
22 300mhz
32 600mhz
52 1ghz
Been using them settings for many months

Do you really need 1.2ghz? Don't set high frecuencies if you dont need it.
Anyway, dont worry too much about temp. I'm on a hot country, and when i'm heavy using my defy, temp raises to 45C, no problem.
All android phones have automatic cooling mode when you reach critic temps. You dont have to worry about that.

i could lower each setting with 2 vsel and still get a stable phone, but i increased it just in case. and yeah, you dont need 1.2GHz, 1GHz will do just fine, dont worry.

These settings seem to be the most stable ive tried so far on my defy, and temp is very cool at 27 degrees. Thanks
I do suppose it depends on your phone i had 2 zte blades and one of the them was stable at 826mhz but the other would not go above 710mhz without constant reboots
Wait until we get unlocked boot loader that is when the overclocking gets serious XD my nexus is at 1.2ghz with smartassV2 govenor and its rock stable, saying that with unlocked bootloader the potential is endless like with my xperia arc it has qualcomm snapdragon msm8255 @ 1ghz but with DooMLoRD's kernel can have a max of 1.9ghz But then again i hate my xperia arc lol

not every cpu is identical , thats why not every phone can reach the same clock rates. To avoid damaging your cpu , its important not to set the vsel too high.
On my defy i never had it set over 65vsel.
70vsel is the max. limit so ive heard.
when yous settings are unstabile you could either clock down or set your vsel higher.
I AM USING [ROM]Android 2.3.6 - 4.5.2-109_DHT-25(mod. "spear1403")
I CHANGE A VERY FEW VALUES FROM: RECOVERY, SYSTEM, OVERLOCK. AND MY PHONE GONE SLOW, LIMPACK SHOW ME: 4 MFLOP!!!
SOME ONE TRY THIS?
1.2 GHz!!! the battery drains very fast or not?
My Defy is stable with:
vsel1: 25 vsel @ 0330 mhz
vsel2: 38 vsel @ 0800 mhz
vsel3: 51 vsel @ 1200 mhz
vsel4: 62 vsel @ 1400 mhz
The Defy of my GF crashes with these settings...
she uses:
vsel1: 31 vsel @ 0330 mhz
vsel2: 41 vsel @ 0800 mhz
vsel3: 58 vsel @ 1000 mhz
vsel4: 64 vsel @ 1200 mhz
EDIT: I need 1400 mhz to play GTAIII lagfree also lot of stuff like Skype calling / Fritz Fon / PhotoShop Express are working better on 1400 than on 1000, I don't understand why everybody says we do not need more than 1000, also the battery drain is about the vsel and not the frequency. My battery lasts loger on 62 vsel @ 1400 than on 64 vsel @ 1200
I am reading the posts in XDA about changing the default frequency of processor in DEFY as I am a beginner of CPU overclock, would like to ask for advice:
1. What is "vsel"? Is it the voltage set for the processor to run in certain frequency?
2. What is the default "vsel" for DEFY in 800MHz? I guess it is 58, right?
Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks a lot!
If any of you have OCed/UVed the GPU of the note, I'd really like to know your settings.
Right now I only have lock on 267mhz with -100mah. I'm a afraid to push further because I haven't seen people that pushed the GPU more. It was always about CPU.
flash abyss note kernel it has built in overclock of gpu
160mhz--950mv
267mhz--1000mv
300mhz--1100mv
you dont need to overclock it then previousely it had 400mhz step instead of 300 but it makes fone quite hot while playing games and if you want to overclock gpu without flashin your kenel or remainin at your kernel m assuming u dont have the abyss note then you can try voltage control extreme or tegrak but they will not have the 300 mhz step from 267 to 400 mhz directly. ..

I already know about abyss settings.
Anyway, I'm building for best battery life / performance. So I flashed Speedmod on Rocketrom. While overclocked to 1600mhz - 1300mah with 500mhz -800mah as lowest possible cpu power.
I think I'll try out 300mhz on GPU. How hot was 400mhz?
EDIT;
I can't seem to get 300mhz on tegrak. That sucks. Is 400mhz safe at all? I mean, I can understand it being hot but is it safe?

Nice, anyway. Is that lock on 400mhz? or not?
if not, are you on 267-400mhz?
setcpu does GPU oC/uv ? or do we have to use tegrak ? any issues if we use them both togather ?
@ clairenix
was little but not too much as you cant even touch but it eats up a lot battery if u not uv it .. while i been using rocket v22 with 3.7 abyss my battery is like m using some nokia fone its hell lot superb than ever before however i feel that rocket v21 together wid abyss 3.6 or 3.7 also gives best battery with superb performance and again its up to you but i feel abyss note has better battery life and hell lot better performance than speedmod
@hackerboi no dude as much i know set cpu does not perform gpu oc or uv nothing wid gpu only cpu oc uv profiles and governors .... how ever tegrak does all same ++ it can also oc/uv cpu but it has only 400mhz step after 267 nothing in between
no issues using together but y would u use both together ..i like tegrak more and voltage control extreme the most the app for oc or uv cpu and gpu
I'm already using SetCPU and have undervolted quite a bit. I want an app to play with the GPU settings
im running abyss 3.6c on performance at 1.4ghz no UV and i clear 20 hours a day easy on battery life, darkyrom 3.1 and i do use my phone thats not idle time
im at 18 hours right now with 28% battery left still.

After more mods I just cleared about 10+ hours on dataplan browsing non-stop and games on the side @ 500mhz-1700mhz @ full brightness while using Rocketrom v22 + abyss 3.7. That says alot about performance/battery life you could get with enough fidling around.
That's pretty much enough for what I need but I wanted to experiment since I read that speedmod consumes less battery.
I gave up with gpu undervolting and speedmod for now. Since I don't have time for stress testing.
@ HACKERBOI try tegrak ultimate or voltage control

Rocket Rom 22, Abyss 3.5c/3.6/3.7/3.8 stable and locked GPU at 267 MHz, 800 mV with Tegrak. Heat with 400 MHz at 1000 mV.
i looked for this info over and over, but it seems no one is willing to share their experience with undervolting
so i took matters in hand, and thnks to gavin lewarne and his awesome hydracore finally supporting voltage control i could do my own unclocking experiments.
expermients was conducted in very high ambient temperatures (30-32°C) with the board not cooler than 33°C and rising to 46°C on load.
so i assume my results are pretty stable and can even be lowered for people living in cooler regions.
for my test system look at my signature; the governor used is pagasusq
so here are the results
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AroPoCDQENoHdFlrZzZCX24zME9qcFVVVnVEOFRqMEE
hope you will find it useful; i'll try to update this table (especially with the oc/uv value)
and of course you're more than welcome to share your own tables.
remarks:
* gb values were found on the forums and are for refrence only
* best possible are highly unstable (it means i was just able to set the value before an almost immediate freeze occurs)
* best stable were found with performance governor (but almost certainly would give a freeze with pegasusq)
Here's mine
200Mhz - 825mV
500Mhz - 900Mv
800Mhz - 950Mv
1000Mhz - 1025Mv
1200Mhz - 1125Mv
1400Mhz - 1175Mv
Governor - Ondemand
Scheduler - noop
coming from sg s2 , i never thoght that note can work with this extreme uv values, i thought that it may need some more power bec. of screen size, but now i tried your tests and my phone is running smooth with the very extreme uv, how come that ics s2 on 500 mhz, never run below 925 ma, and note can run at 800 ma, i am realy excited to know why?, anyway thanks alot.

Hi there,
it has got to do not only with the note, but also with your voltgroup. With the note there are different voltgroups, voltgroup a,b and c. The most stable phones have voltgroup c, voltgroup b you still can OV/UC, but voltgroup a is getting unstable if OV/UC is used. If you use hydracore kernel you can see the information about you quality of you board (a,b or c) at the setting, telephone info. There is an even better description of voltgroup in the hydracore thread. Have fun!
I have read very conflicting things about undervolting; some say it doesn't do much at all, others say it's worth the effort. What most can agree on though, is that it depends on the phone, so I want to get some input to see if people have had success with it on the Fascinate. I tried a mild undervolt today and while I didn't notice much change with the screen on (while using it) I did notice it held a lot better charge while in stand-by. My settings as of right now are:
1200 MHz - 1300mV (-50)
1000 MHz - 1225mV (-50)
800 MHz - 1150mV (-50)
400 MHz - 950mV (-100)
200 MHz - 850mV (-100)
100 MHz - 850mV (-100)
I have been running the over / under volts for a while on different test builds with really good results...
I did do a live o/c for a while but have settled on normal o/c
My over / under settings as of right now are:
1200 mhz O/C
100 mhz minimum
1200 MHz - 1400mV (+50)
1000 MHz - 1325mV (+50)
800 MHz - 1250mV (+50)
400 MHz - 1025mV (-25)
200 MHz - 900mV (-50)
100 MHz - 875mV (-75)
------------------------
------------------------
But i have been wanting to test some other stuff too
I figured i would test this::
And see how it runs
1200 MHz - 1350mV (+00)
1000 MHz - 1275mV (+00)
800 MHz - 1200mV (+00)
400 MHz - 1000mV (-50)
200 MHz - 850mV (-100)
100 MHz - 850mV (-100)

Just curious, but what was your reasoning to raise the voltage? It seems like that would just be a battery drain because at those steps the stock voltage should be more than enough for stability.
I also don't Live OC but that's only because my phone will crash at 110% Live OC so I don't see the point in doing 105% Live OC... so I just do what you do and have 1200 MHz regular OC now

From all the roms/kernels I ever ran on my fascinate undervolting did help slightly. It seems if I remember correctly that pulling -50uv across the board helped with battery life without decreasing stability. Anymore than that is when the random reboots started. Also disabling the 100mhz step made a big difference with SOD's and reboots.

You can do both a live oc (fsb overclock), and a regular overclock (multiplier overclock) at the same time. I use 110 live oc and a 200 mhz regular overclock giving me a total of 1320mhz. Set your live oc then use rom controlor whatever to do your regular overclock on top of it.
Im looking for someone to tell me what they think is there best settings to be used in there prefered app for example setcpu,faux123, do you overclock and to what settings, what has worked for you guys
i generally dont use my phone to much in a day so battery last the day so i dont mind it being overclocked when im using it if it means it runs faster but drains battery, some suggestion please, im a novice
no flames about i used the word 'best' im looking for opionons thankyou if you help

IMO, no overclock is required. The phone is fast and snappy enough.
That said, I underclock the minimum frequency and undervolt throughout the frequency table.
This ensures that I get better battery life, without any decrease in performance.
I'm running CyanogenMod 10.1.0 Stable Release.
I'm using franco.kernel r161, and his companion app - franco.kernel updater.
The following settings are giving me great performance and battery life.
CPU Frequency Range : Screen On - 384 MHz - 1512 MHz, Screen Off - 384 MHz
CPU Governor : Interactive
GPU Frequency: 400 MHz
Frequency Table Undervolt : -125 mV throughout
Disclaimer - This is for a {fast} binned CPU. Check your device's CPU binning via this link, and do some trial-error to find the perfect undervolt for your device.
Good Luck!
