When I go to flash the jvb rom do I follow the installation instructions on that thread or just straight flash the zip
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Alright so I have a Jig and im ready to go.
Do we flash back to stock first?
Then the JVB **WITH BOOTLOADERS???***
Let it boot up.
Then Flash this kernel?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: One more thing I have been looking for a while what is the dangers really with flashing the Gingerbread Bootloaders? Is it something that cannot be fixed even with a Jig? Or if something wrong were to happen a Jig would work? Thanks and sorry for the noobness
EDIT 2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901 Which one should we flash XWJVB NEE? Or XWJVB XEE? Thanks!

Sorry if I asked same dumb question over and over again. Does this support the BT audio? Or fix the BT audio quality issue?
I cannot remember if it's due to some hardware driver issue or not in the old kernel.
Thanks.
Leo
I flashed it. still have low upload so I'm thinking HSUPA is not enabled? I'm on JI6 froyo also.

Which modem file do you use? I think JI6 modem might not have HSUPA.
thanks X! installing it now.
Does this include 2e recovery?
Sent from my Cappy using mental telepathy, *****ezz.
Much thanksto the op for making this possible and the tester for helping to refine this kernel. I will be following this thread closely. Hopefully we get hspa and voodoo in 3 weeks
awesome! HSUPA is working
phone working properly. i doubt BT works but i will try that out tomorrow
***EDIT***
i know everyone will ask:
i pulled the JP6 modem out of
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807351
i included just the modem in a zip file for you
YES YES YES!!! Finally what I've been waiting for!!
Man, you deserved some money for the "college" fund
Anyway, would it be too much if I would ask to include the overclock feature as well? just... how should I put it.. just for the pleasure of our eyes when running Linpack plus a 3-4% boost when un-archiving something
As well, the 2e recovery would be a great option as well.
Edit: Thanks for adding 2e recovery on the list.
Edit 2: I have no force close on the i9000 ROM (running JPM) but I do experience the 2 back buttons issue.
It's great so far and i did have to switch modems to get hsupa. Used old JG8 and this was the result:

[REF] ROM, Kernel, Kitchen & Modem List - Galaxy S II (07/04/12) TIME FOR UPDATES!
Hey everyone!
The last ROM List I saw was last updated in July, so I thought I may as well make a new one and keep it updated. However, this includes ROM Kitchens, Kernels and Modems too!
If you find that I've missed anything, something has been updated behind my back, or if you would like your ROM or kernel added to my list, PM me. Anything old or outdated, I haven't included in the list. If it gets updated behind my back and I haven't added it, hit me up with a PM and I'll add it.
BEFORE you even THINK about flashing any of the ROMs, Kernels, or Modems below, read the following guides:
Rawat's EFS Backup guide - This guide will instruct you on how to backup your EFS folder on your phone. This folder contains all the information that is specific to your phone such as the IMEI, MAC Addresses and other sensitive information. The thread goes into more detail about it.
wilk22's Guide to Android and the Galaxy S II - This guide contains a heap of useful information for both the beginner and advanced user. It's a good idea to read this before flashing anything. It will help.
pulser_g2's Galaxy S II FAQ - Name says it all. A lot of frequently asked questions about the Galaxy S II answered in one place.
Hacre's Original Development vs Development - This picture based guide explains the difference between the Original Development and Development sections.

KERNELS
Siyah Kernel
Features:
All-in-1kernel because it supports CM9, Samsung and MIUI ROMs with a single kernel image.
Custom CWM touch recovery with swipe gestures
8 freq steps (100MHz to 1600MHz)
3-step GPU frequency levels. Samsung default is 160-267 whereas SiyahKernel default is 160-200-267 which saves power without sacrificing performance.
Auto-root. You can also remove root via ExTweaks app and install it without rebooting your phone again. Auto-root can be disabled as well.
CPU Overclock/Undervolt support (we have two interfaces for that. both of them are defacto standard)
Tweakable vitalij's value (set to 5 as default)
Fixed fuelalert wakelocks
You can completely disable android logger using ExTweaks app
Faster charging for misc and USB modes. There are 3 modes (AC, Misc, USB) and normally last two of them support only slow charging. You can have charging speed of AC by increasing it (especially user while charging in car or using USB port)
Cpu governor optimizations
Gpu voltage, clock and stepcount interfaces (GPU Overclock/Undervolt)
Tegrak's touchmove support.
Brightness curve settings with original panel gamma values. panel values unchanged, so you will get stock colors and will be able to use supercurio's voodoo display app when it is released. brightness modification will only change auto-brightness response.
BLN support both for Samsung and CM9 ROMs (use BLNControl app from the market to enable it)
Better touch sensitivity (especially while charging)
Available CPU Governors: Ondemand (default), Pegasusg (new hotplug aware governor from Samsung), Lulzactive, SmartassV2, Interactive and Conservative governors added
CIFS
Available I/O schedulers: CFQ (default), noop, Deadline, SIO, V(R)
J4FS as module
ARM topology support (SCHED_MC)
Automatic EFS Backup
Lots of I/O tweaks and filesystem optimizations via some parts of thunderbolt scripts.
Voodoo louder support (already default in all kernels but people ask it if it is supported)
USB Mass Storage mode is working in CWM Touch Recovery
built-in profile support with default, battery and performance presets (you can change them in CWM Recovery). Even using everything default will save you a lot of battery juice.
Almost everything is configurable such as scheduler features, hotplug thresholds, GPU frequencies, voltages, arm topology modes... and they are configurable via simple and free ExTweaks App from Google Play
Current Version: 3.0
Supports: CM9, Samsung, MIUI
Developer: gokanmoral
SpeedMod ICS
Features:
Root and CWM:
Automatically installs root (su) but can be disabled

Personally I have always found that a forum - such as this (even if this one is not a bad example) have an extremely low signal to noise level. It takes way too much digging to find precisely the information needed. In my personal opinion - wikies are actually better suited for providing information. A great example is this page: http://nookdevs.com/Portal:NookColor which basically contains all information you'd ever need about hacking the Nook Color. I had been googling around for a android hacking wiki but didn't find any - so decided to throw one up. However, I do realize that if I am the only one editing it, it won't ever become anything but my own random notes (which is what it is right now). But with other users helping with the edits it could at least theoretically turn out to be a great source for information.
So - I appreciate that you added it to the list and I sincerely hope someone will pick up the idea and help adding and changing the wiki.
---------- Post added at 10:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 AM ----------
Originally I had configured the wiki to require registration before edit, but in the true wiki spirit I have now disabled that - so anybody can edit it. If that result in too much vandalism I'll just swap it back again.

I've been looking everywhere for a compilation of this sorts... and I'm glad somebody has colated this info... good place to start instead of searching for [ROM] and getting a message that search is down for maintenance...
a tabular overview would also be helpful, with if its based from samsung firmware, cyanogenmod, feature list, kernel included, etc.
Wait.. Was this phone even out in January?

I've currently listed if its based on official Samsung firmware or CyanogenMod base under the "Base" However there are only three listed so far.. CyanogenMod, MIUI and the letters and numbers for Samsung firmware (XXKG6, XXKH3, etc)
I'll look into adding kernels and features
I might not add ALL features, but some generic ones like Odexed or Deodexed.
Edit: Failure at Multi-Quoting established.

makes it so much easier to look for a rom in one glance and decide based on a preference; mine being cm7, stripped down.

This is a great thread... might I suggest getting some features from users of each ROM. I personally use LeoMar ROM and I can tell you that one of the nice features is that it has its own repository of mods at your disposal to install including preview capabilities.

This would be a great thing to have, and it is what I'll most likely throw into the third post however that is a lot of information. Possibly if it could be slimmed down to only a few lines. Like including only the important bits.

Oxygen ROM
I vaguely remember seeing a thread for the Oxygen ROM somewhere in the s2 forum. That's missing from your list.
I wanted to create a list of current ROMs for the Galaxy S3. My phone is pre-ordered through Verizon so it won't ship until July 10 :highfive:. I hope to be able to give back to the community, this is a start. This is just a temporary list until I get a better idea of how to present them (ideas?) This list is backed up to a Google document I created: Google DOC. If you would like to help edit the list, let me know. If there are errors let me know. If this belongs in General please move it.
These are ordered by date.

Edit: I may have gone overboard with a separate post for each information: ROMs, Mods, Kernels, Recoveries. I am hoping this will be more of an information thread than a discussion. If in the future there is a larger information sticky then there can be a link for each mentioned information post.

Thank you for good jobs :good:
Moved to general, read this thread for more information about what belongs where.
Probably should post that none of these are compatible with the verizon phone, or any US phone for that matter.
There's really no point in this list whatsoever, as it is a repost and you are going to have to trash it when your verizon phone comes.
Sorry to pee in your cornflakes mate.
Slim ICS ROM
I'm missing the Slim ICS ROM (see slimroms.com) from the list.
According the the supported devices page the Samsung Galaxy S III I9300 is supported.

Criskelo v5.3 problems
I flashed the Criskelo v5.3 rom and my phone keeps crashing every 5 minutes and then sometimes even restarts on its own. How to fix this issue? Does anybody else have it?

My deodexed releases aim to be as-pure-stock-as-possible, just with a magic touch of being ready for all community modifications, such as theming, debloating, customizing and so on.
You should consider them as an alternative to official pure stock. Especially because they're CWM-compatible, which means that you don't need Odin in order to be up-to-date.
Notice to all developers: Feel free to use my deodexed release as a "base" for your ROM. I'm doing the same with ArchiDroid.
Today we have:

CSC has not been included due to branded (UB, not XX) release.
This release has been possible thanks to ArchiKitchen. Init.d is indepdendent, kernel bundled with ROM isn't modified in any way.
Nothing else has been made/changed. No apps removed. No KNOX. This is one-time release. You can use Rom Cleaner for fast debloat. This is the "base" for upcoming ArchiDroid 1.7.17, so if you're looking for something more advanced feel free to try my "monster" .
Modem comes in standalone package, rom itself does not change your modem by default.
Previous releases:
XXUGND5 UBUGNB1 XXUGNB6 XXUGNA7 XXUGNA5 XWUGML4 XXUGML2 XXUGMK6 XXUGMJ9
This ROM uses new set_metadata permissions. Up-to-date recovery is required! Latest CWM, TWRP or PhilZ will work.
This ROM works only with EFS V2 (XXEMG4+) modems! Read stickies if you don't know what it means
(Unless you're running modified custom kernel)
This is "No Wipe" ROM but I can't assure you that you won't run into problems without wiping. In case of issues - Format /data /system /preload /cache.
Be patient during flahsing and booting.
Download: AFH
Have fun, hit thanks if I deserve it :highfive:.

This ROM is official Samsung ROM and untouched in terms of apps or any tweaks, so I doubt that it works on pure stock as well.

CRT OFF mod zip
@JustArchi, could you or anyone else kindly provide me the stock deodexed UBUGNE1 CRT OFF mod zip?
It's been a long time I'm after this effect for my device... But I've spent some good time trying to find it with no success...
As OnePlus doesn't always provide download links for all of their OxygenOS ROMs & OTA update zips, we've created an index to put the links in one post so that they're easy to find.
Note: This is not a support thread for issues you may have with OxygenOS ROMs. If you need help installing or updating, feel free to ask here. If you have any other issues, please ask in another thread.
For the sake of simplicity, only signed flashable (full) zips are listed. These are recovery-flashable zips of the full ROM that won't overwrite your data partition unless mentioned otherwise. They can be flashed via local update in Settings --> System --> System Updates or TWRP recovery (if it becomes available for this device)
Packages with build tag KB05BA are intended for the following variant:
KB2003: EU
Packages with build tag KB05DA are intended for the following variant:
KB2001: India
Global devices (KB2005) with build tag KB05AA zips use Google OTA servers, thus making impossible to capture full OTA zips. Should however full zips be posted on support website they will be added.
KB2000 units are Chinese units running HydrogenOS out of the box and may be able to run OxygenOS after conversion via local update. They will however need to format /data and wipe cache to avoid bootloop.
KB2007 units are T-Mobile units running their own version of OxygenOS labelled KB09CB and lack local update option in Settings->System->System Updates and are therefore not supported.
Signed flashable zips

What date did you submit for your unlock code? Reason I'm asking is that it takes exactly one week to receive the "approved" email from oneplus.
I got 5 days ago my 8T... KB2000 with KB05AA, so chinese variant can run global rom...
Thanks
Yeahhh @shadowstep is on the team
Hi mate, happy to see you again

OxygenOS 11.0.5.6 is not a beta but rather a stable build and has already been added to OP when thread has been created.

IMO it's beta This whole OOS 11 is a joke. We're just beta testing each update for them. Stable builds don't get released every week.
Can I just download EU rom 11.0.5.6, and update with stock updater, from global 11.0.4.5AA rom to 11.0.5.6BA rom?
My phone is KB2000, chinese one, so I already do not have factory rom on my phone....
"Global devices (KB2005) with build tag KB05AA are not supported as using Google OTA servers, thus making impossible to capture full OTA zips. Should however full zips be posted on support website they will be added."
Is it impossible due to region locks?
Do you think we will ever get a posted zip before the end of the year?

It looks like probably we never going to get one unfortunately... Yeah oneplus screwed us good on this, and this is just the beginning of all of these extra measures for us not to change anything anymore...
Word of advice buy straight from oneplus for your specific region root it if you want and enjoy it done.

Yeah thanks to how the US deals with carriers. But yeah i have the tmo and an 8t from tmo. I rooted and removed tmo apps and the phone works flawlessly.
Welp hopefully OnePlus starts giving us USA users some love again, if not then I guess it's time for me to find a new dev friendly company.
@xstefen I would agree that man certainly hasn't made my job any easier (in fact it has gotten significantly harder in the last two years), but I can't put all the blame on him.
