Hey guys,
i have a question but I am not allowed to post in the development forum.
Is App2SD in V4.0 still optional or do I have to partition my sdcard?
Please can you help me?
Marcel
If you don't partition your sdcard, it won't use app2sd.
i know.
But I can use this rom without app2sd too. Is that right?

Thank you.
Your Rom is amazing.
I have another question:
Now I decided to use app2sd and it is really fast. But I have another problem. I can't add widgets to my screen except widgets by system apps.
Can anyone help me? Maybe I forgot a step after flashing my phone.
If im not wrong all apps that uses widgets must be on phone's memory in order to get full access to its functions

Widgets are working on app2sd+ too..

Thats because app2sd+ moves the /data folder to a sd's partition right?

Hi guy, we're the Androidblog.it staff, and we created a useful tool that allows you to to move your apps to your SDcard.
This tool does not require ROOT permissions, but need Android Froyo 2.2.
You only have to install the USB drivers (adb), enable debug mode, and connect your phone to PC...EASY!
This tool will show you two options:
1- Apply App2SD - Patch (Applica App2SD – Patch)
2- Restore defaults (Ripristina impostazioni di default)
"Now available also the English Version!"
To apply the patch you only need to select the first option, the second if you want to remove it.
TOO EASY!
Thanks to KuroAndroid and to Murder for the betatesting, and to Ivan Boscacci for the inspiration.
YOU CAN FIND THE LINK FOR DOWNLOAD THE TOOL HERE IN THE ORIGINAL POST.
I hope you'll enjoy it!
Recall that the Tools created by Andrew (AndroidBlog.it STAFF) is owned by AndroidBlog.it ...if you want to use it on your blog we would appreciate if you will quote the link to our site. Thanks
So with this tool you can move all apps 2sd?

is there any risk to the apps that get moved from the phone to the SD card?
I can't download without registering, and how am i suppossed to register on a site thats in italian?
Scroll down the page and locate any post with the button "Fare il login per replicare". Click on this and you should be able to login and then download the app.
this is really nice... so far with N1.
Thanks guys!
Sorry but I can't see how to register. I've tried loging in with my twitter account but I cannot get the file. Any clue or alternative?
I have used this and it does work, however programmes that came on your phones stock rom (i am using orange 2.2 froyo) you cannot move to the sd card, for example google maps and facebook. Also i tried downloading adobe air earlier and this is 10+mb's and although it said it was on the sd card it wasn't. Could this be because it is a sytem app or is there another reason?
Cheers
how this work?
Nice work pal! works on my HTC Desire running 2.2 Froyo. Non-rooted. Quick question, how the hell does it work? does it trick it into thinking its possible to move the app to SD card?

The only ones I havent been able to move it with are the system applications, or the ones that came standard on the phone, but all the ones I have downloaded from the Market, all of them are movable now, I have about 30-40 apps/games installed.
i have a question...when i'm trying to install app.i cant install on SD card,how can i change this???please help....
come on,no one knows how to solve this problem?????
If you have Froyo go to Menu-Settings-Applications-Manage applications and than click on app and you will see option for that... ;-)

You have to have 2.2 froyo to do this and also it usually depends on the app as well unless you are rooted I think

On stock roms, nope. On CM you have the options to install apps to external.
Today I went back to 2.1 (data2system LiteXtreme mod for Soft-mod 2.1 20E Final) as my battery was draining rapidly in 2.3.x. Everything looks fine except that there is no Gmail app in this ROM. Market also does not show it. Can somebody point me to Gmail apk.

That was the first thing I did even before posting this question. It does not show up in market place. That is the reason I started looking for apk to install. The first few that I found were all meant for froyo and gingerbread. They don't install correctly on eclair complaining about package parsing error. Then I posted this question hoping someone knows how to do it.
Hi, if you can't post in the proper thread about this version please pm me... here is what you need :
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21630798/Apps/Gmail%20for%20Eclair%202.1.rar
Install both as any other app, DO NOT PUSH TO WHERE SYSTEM APPLICATIONS ARE
Easier way is just drop the .apk's to your sdcard or dropbox and install from there as normal.
As i explained i had to remove many apps and files to make data partition fit in system partition, but if you need a stock app do not doubt in ask me.

I'm a real noob when it comes to installing ROMs, so it had to go wrong.
After i had got my new Huawei u8800 i started customizing it so it would look like i wanted to. I rooted it, downloaded ADW Launcher and some themes, but after a while I ran out of space on my phone, so I decided to delete some of the system apps i didn't need. I started of with some simple apps and after a while I thought i could delete the regular launcher app since i got the ADW Launcher. And so i did and everything worked as it should. But then, by an accident I hit factory reset and my ADW Launcher was deleted from my phone. I now didn't have any launcher.
So what I need help with is:
When I boot my phone now it's just stuck on the android loading screen. It won't go any further... How can I get it to work again?
Please help!!!
Install the same rom as you had before your phone stucked.

Welcome to our world.... You can't move apps to your sd. You have to use tools to do this like DirectoryBind or something else.

thank you:highfive:
The easiest way for me was to use an app called "system cleaner". With it you can move (some) apps easily by selecting them. Try it out (or use the search function for the forum, the problem was discussed 1000 times).

Why not. Try it out. The app doesn't cost anything.
If it doesn't work you can try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5kZXZhc3F1ZS5mbW91bnQiXQ..
It worked for me (but you can only mount 3 directories).
