Hello everyone,
I recently experienced the battery issue where the SD card drained the power and you could almost see the power level count down before your eyes.
So, following the advice on XDA posts, I tried removing my SD card, cleaned it up and then reformatted it (in the phone) which fixed the problem (thanks to all who spotted that fix, it’s an excellent tip). I then transferred all my files back on it.
However, now when I download files from the internet and I select to save it to the Storage Card, my ‘My Documents’ folder no longer appears in the list on the Storage Card, all I can see is the CoPilot folder and sub-folders.
How can I get it back to the My Documents folder that appears?
Am I missing something simple here?
Any help here would be great, thank you in advance.
(PS: I tried searching for this response on XDA but didn’t find it reported, sorry it is has already been covered.)
maybe just create a new "my documents" folder on the sd card.......
Hi everybody!
I just got my DHD and already root, clockwork, changed rom, etc. However, my problem is related to the directories structures inside my SDCARD.
I have 2 questions:
1- I moved some apps that I have in my main memory to my SDCARD via App Settings. However, when I go to my sdcard in windows explorer, I don't find these files. I'm not sure then if is really moving to my sdcard. I just realized some new folders, but they are empty. Does anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
2- The second question it's linked with the first. I would like to organize in my SDCARD a nice folder structure. Something like:
/
/Songs/
/Photos/
/Documents/
/Backups/
/Games/
/Apps/
And then if you go inside the Apps folder, you have another folder with the name of the application. Pretty much like Program Files folder in Windows.
Is this possible? For Songs, Photos, Documents, I created a folder and it worked. But what about for apps and games that I got on the market?
My SDCARD has also a lot of folder/files that were copied when I put the sdcard on the device. I don't know if I can delete that. Any idea?
Thanks for the help in advance!
Just got my Iconnia last week and it's stunning.
However if I drag .apk's onto my 32Gb SD Card I can't seem to find them using Linda File manager.
Is there a particular programme I need to use to access it?
When I look into Storage it only seems to show my internal memory, howevermy Gallery DOES find my camera pics on the card so what am I doing wrong?
Dragging using what ?? on desktop PC ?? ( best is to copy & paste )
for when on the iconia... I downloaded "Astro file manager" ... there are many others...etc
your Ext_SDCard and USB storage is under the sub directory of /mnt
You should post in the "General" section...as this is the "DEV" section...
File Manager for Honeycomb.
I ran into this problem when I first got mine too.
The external sd card is actually showing in mnt/external_sd in your root folder
Basically this means that when you use astro file manager or root explorer and you open that instead of clicking on sdcard you click the folder listed as "mnt" then external sd
Thanks Guys.
Mods - Can you please move this to general Doh!
After using google and forum search a while I am stuck with this problem.
on my i9000 I want to move files like jpg files from certain appfolders to my external sd card.
I tried to use different File explorers and tried to move for example a picture from the program folder of the app "multicam" on the internal SD card to a new cerated Folder on the external SD Card.
whenever I try to cut & paste it onto ext SD card, it sant be moved or just does not paste it... depending on which file explorer I use. I have SU rights for my file explorers and can't find a way to move the files.
Some files on the internal SD can be COPIED and PASTED onto the external and after that I have to delete the original Files from the internal SD. But why is CUT & Paste not possible?
is there something like protection oder chmod things, that has to be payed attention to ?
thanks for any hints what I do have to look for on the search function of xda-dev or google...
I have the exact same problem. Copy and paste works but Cut and paste does not.
I have both I9000 and Asus Transformer and in both of them this does not work. It's very frustrating when you have to frequently move files.
It happens to me too. I can't move, just copy and paste. For me is not such a bad thing, it keeps adding a "false" sense of security of having backups.
It works using root explorer.
Thx for the tip... I tried root explorer now and this works quite well. Now you can copy/cut + paste from any folder to each folder you like to. There are 2 settings available: r/o and r/w... read only and read write.

Well first of all uninstall and install folder mount. And you should correctly mount the folder. First hit "+" icon on the top. A new window opens. There is Name, Source and Destination. Write the name of game( any one you like) in Name. Now tap on Source. This is the important step. You should properly browse the folder. If you have obb then browse like Android>obb>com.Nameofgame. After you reach the game file folder you will see nothing except up. When you reach here Click "Right" icon ( sorry i dont have that icon so i wrote in words). After that a new window will open and prompt you to create destination folder automatically. Hit yes. Then Hit "right" icon on the top. Then you will be prompted to move the file. Hit yes. After the file is moved Click the icon (something like pin and is white in colour) on the right to your name of game. It is for mounting the folder. If turns green then you have successfully mounted your folder
Hello. I have galaxy S4 m919. Phone has 16 gb, but getting low. One of my biggest files is, thumbnails cache. 1.2 gb. I tried to link that folder, but after rebooting, my external memory card shows up in file manager as the cache folder, and I cannot navigate out of that into my card. Any thoughts?
