what is the word on neflix on android???
If you used the fancy-shmancy search feature, you would find that the Netflix app only works on like two phones right now, mT4G not included.
Why hasnt Netflix created an app for Android? Is it because of Silverlight?

Because its a different media platform. You need to have the rights from the movie owners or its stealing.

I know that already. What I dont understand is that the iPhone and WM7 have the netflix app already, but nothing for android.
Netflix is limiting their product to only those platforms and not seeing that is being left out from the #1 OS in the market now, Android.

It has to do with Security and Linux. It's to easy for us to download the movies as they are being played. it has to do with the Chip Set they are using.

silverlight is a microsoft product, if microsoft doesnt choose to make a version for android then you are out of luck. what i would suggest is to vnc into a desktop and then watch the jerky unwatchable video through that =)
Funny, I'm still waiting for silverlight with full drm support for linux. Android was based off of linux. So all I can tell you is keep waiting for microsoft to port it over. BTW, no dev I know is going to touch a microsoft branded software.

Search on the market, there are lots of client + an official one from the VNC team. You install a server on your computer, configure the connection, and that s ok.

anyone else catch this little golden nugget in reference to hands on with the LG Revolution and see it on the video. they did not say if its a streaming app or the one from the market that only lets you manage your queue but i doubt they would release a phone with an unofficial 3rd party app pre-installed on it.

BTW the Thunderbolt RUU leaked and maybe a dev can look in the ROM file and pull the apk if it exists in that phone.

Netflix for Android App is Confirmed in Verizon LG Revolution Demo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ymDAuyiMds
The long-rumored Netflix app for Android is confirmed in the following Verizon LG Revolution 4G demo as being pre-installed on the just-announced phone (expected in the next few months).
Due to DRM issues, the Netflix app will not be released on all phones, and Netflix has not confirmed the phones that will get the Android app yet.
via AndroidCentral. Thanks to FearNo1, Steve and Kevin for sending this in.
well if not all phones now, but soon google did buy the DRM company that netflix uses or something to that extent
lets hope for a rru leak for the LG Revolution

Most likely it won't be as good. The iPhone apps tend to be better than the Android version.

It probably has a bunch of deep DRM stuff in the ROM. I don't think it will be as simple as inserting DB file into a system folder.

Technically it's not true integration.
WP7 just lets you get gamer points on your phone with your XBLive gamer tag.
But yes, both these posts are referencing Windows Phone 7. Specifically the soon-to-be-released HTC Pro 7 for Sprint.
Which makes this thread off-topic.
Sounds like Microsoft's late-to-game rehashing of "cloud" this and that blah blah and xbox integration that nobody cares for.
Microsoft's cloud storage is not just for WP7 anyway...

Aww so sad
I was thinking that my android phone could now be "integrated" with my Xbox
Btw I'm both a ps3 and a 360 person
Not that it matters at all
Another thing I think wp7 is going to be the next big thing
Because if I remember correctly apple came to Verizon first with the idea if the iPhone and Verizon refused and the iPhone was a huge success and Verizon also refused wp7 so maybe wp7 is going to be huge too.
Even if wp7 becomes "huge" I'm sticking with android unless Google abandons it

While I prefer ps3 over 360, I'm gonna have to disagree based on multiplayer. The 360 has a great social system. Once the ps3 gets on XBL level, there is definitely nothing holding them back. And hopefully a redesigned controller (not fully redesigned....just put some joysticks that atually have grip so that I can shoot as comfortably as 360!).
Multiplayer is more casual on 360, but that's because you have all these little kids not taking it srs.
Ps3 is more intimate online and its more hardcore because theaverage age is 12<, which is why I prefer it, but I can't enjoy it with my friends playing a different game than I

Maybe if your intent is to use it as a linux box. However as a game system, they are close enough that you should pick based on which one has the exclusives you like. That and the online system I suppose. Cheap vs good.

He knows its an android forum. That's why he asked us WHY DO WE PREFER ANDROID OVER WINDOWS.
If you're gonna try to make a fool of someone, cover your bases first.
On-topic, I actually prefer windows mobile to android. Windows Mobile was so customizable and had a lot of options at your fingertips. I was TORN upgrading from my bbcurve cuz I couldn't decide if I wanted the TP2 or the Hero but I settled for the hero because of the camera.

WP7 might be good for people who doesn't want to deal with troubleshooting their phone, i.e. non-tech savvy people. It actually has nice UI and I heard it gives refreshing experience to people who are exhausted with iOS and/or android. I like its zune style music app. I am actually frustrate with Android music player. Default one looks soooo outdated. I want something real nice like iOS's coverflow or WP7's zune for android out of the box. Don't want to pay extra money buying music apps. Also there are no good music apps that work flawlessly with the lock screen.
Again, WP7 has less apps and porting is slower. I think it doesn't have Skype yet but will have Tango soon. Also it doesn't have free tethering. All the good things about android such as rooting, installing unique apps like call recorder, roam control, PRL flashing, free GPS navigation, decluttering unnecessary carrier apps, etc. are not possible.
Personally, I would like to try Lumia 800 if I wasn't in contract with Sprint.
I went with Android mainly because it is not Windows, and I hate Windows.
I've been working with Windows for almost 20 years(wow, feeling old) and its just one thing after another when it comes to bugs.
I would have went with an IPhone if it had a slide-out keyboard. Android was the only alternative in my books, since Palm blew chunks with the Pre. I had a 755P Palm OS phone forever, before trying the Pre and then going to the Moment.

You'd be abusing that opportunity if all you want is a free phone out of it. That offer is there for developers who need official Firefox OS hardware to perform hardware tests on their application they are developing which can't be accurately tested via a SDK such as Camera, GPS or NFC capabilities.
If you are interested in App development for Firefox OS then I suggest you test your apps via the Firefox browser on your PC using this addon:

You maybe are right but I don't want the device for nothing.I want it because I want to test some apps that I coded which can't be tested via Simulator or something. It needs real hardware so a real device. And if you don't know I hate making something just to get something free.I make apps,ROMs or kernels just because I love Android and everything around of it.No offense and as I said before you have right but first make sure for the personality of someone or just stop telling b*ll****s.Sorry for my bad words but this is how I felt when I read this!
