Hi,
I know most folks hate the Navigation that comes as part of the DHD but for me its fine. Not great, just fuctional for what I need.
So on Android 2.2.1 I purchased the perpetual license and it was great.
I recently swapped to 2.3 Gingerbread to try it out but it seems my licnese is now redundant/not recognised.
Does this mean with every upgrade I loose my license?
Anyone else with similar issue?
Cheers
if u are referring to 'Location' then yes, i luv it too. i'm also on Gingerbread from port over of Desire S. and i can use my "location" and my license is recognise. thts why i didn't use CM7 because i will lose 'Location'.
u can try by:
Open 'Location' > press "Menu" > Get More > Press 'Menu' > "Sync License"
try retyping the license and it will work just fine

Thank you so much, never even thought of doing that
The licnese sync has to be done manually. I just assumed that it would auto update. Spent an extra 5 quid in the mean time but happy now I know this.
Thanks again.

I got the official Alltel 6.1 ROM, and when I go to Google Maps to the "Use GPS" option, I get a "No GPS receiver detected." Please help, as I don't want to have to use Allel Navigator.
In your phone settings is your location set to ON and the com port set to 4??
Let me clarify...in your GPS settings is your GPS program port set to 4? and make sure that in GOOGLE MAPS that your GPS settings are set to COM4 and 57600. It works for me on a fresh install of alltel ROM.
if i do this i still need external gps hardware for it to work.. is that right?
I have all the settings too like you said up above. still doesn't work.
go to:
Start > Settings > Click on your "Phone" icon > click "Services" tab > Make sure "Location Setting" is highlighted, then click the "Get Settings" button.
Make sure it is checked on, then click "ok" in the top right.
Then go to google maps, click menu and make sure use gps has a check mark next to it, if not click it. (its something along the lines of use gps).
that should take care of your problem.
if you ever have to hard reset your phone you will have to do this again.
Check out my old thread here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478910. It was a pain, nut I finally got it working in the end. After the shadow tech fix I consistently get lock in less than 30 seconds outdoors, indoors does`nt work as well, but its still better. This is the only way the get the gps to work correctly on your phone and not pay Alltel 10 bucks a month for their Alltel Nav.

There is more, somewhere. I've tried almost everything out there with no luck. The GPS "Debug Info" in FieldTrial shows N/A on all of the settings. I gave up, but would like to get it working after other ideas show up.
I do have 6.1, Alltel ROM 3.10.671.1, Radio 3.42.30 ...
Make sure location settings is on. if your on Alltel then definitaly do Shadow-tech's GPS fix found here--->
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36377
Then install the attached GoogleMaps.cab
After install go to menu in google maps then options then GPS settings and make sure "managed by windows" is checked. exit out then go back into google maps menu and click use GPS and it should work.

Many tries, many combinations, no joy ... I suspect I have a hardware issue. ##DEBUG shows N/A for everything under GPS no matter what. Thanks!
I got this fix from facebook and it worked fine for me. Here's what u do:
From the home screen go to 'Settings'
Click 'Menu' and select 'All Settings'
Click 'Connections'
Click 'Advanced Network'
Choose the 'SMS' tab at the bottom
From the drop down box select 'GSM' and NOT 'GSM Preferred'
Reset your device.
You have found the gunpowder... do you know how many threads about that issue there are?? Plenty of them.
Next time use the search button before opening such threads.
And even better yet, install the latest official fix from HTC.
It actually came before you opened this thread.

Problem: I can't use physical keyboard In my SMS prog (go sms), instead the shortcuts come up:
b - browser
s - sms program
e - email
g - gmail
etc.....
When did this start happening:
1. I updated from cm7 RC1 to RC2
2. Flashed Vivid theme from Sonny (Think thats what his name is)
Usually, if I restart the phone, the keys will work, but after a couple hours, it'll go back to shortcuts. Is there a way to disable shortcuts entirely, I never use them? Any advice how to fix my prob?
This happened to me as well, all you have to do is apply shortcuts to the quickkeys at the bottom of the hardware keyboard and you're set

Should be stated that this can be done via CM Settings > Input > Quick key 1/2/3
Clearing all of the shortcuts fixes the problem for me
Settings > Applications > Quick Launch > LONG PRESS to clear
^^Actually, this is the best thing to do.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
This happened to me today as well. I think it's CM 7 rc2 related bug.

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!
I was ready to throw my phone out da window... on screen keyboard not quite for me yet, predictive txt is annoying and keys are small... but thanks again all, I can go back to my keyboard!!!
In my HD2 when I try to fix my Home Layout/Main Home/Notification Bar, the SMS icon indicates message reception; but when I tap on it, it does not bring up the relevant message but opens the item "Word Mobile" ??
Any advice ???
I don't know what the heck word mobile is, but I know that you can go to Settings > Applications > Manage Apps> All > "Word Mobile" > Scroll down and "Clear Defaults" .. Next time when that icon appears and you hit it, choose messaging .
Thanks; it worked.
However I could not find Manage Apps, through your way but through the utility "CHT Editor"
In any case problem solved. Thanks again.
lol this thread is funny...

lol, yeah I just realized my fault.
And I still don't know how it worked for him .. WinMo doesn't even have "Default" apps
I just upgraded my HD2 from Gingerbread to Jellybean 4.2.2. So far everything works great except for my open/close menu.
Here is a youtube link of what I am dealing with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd0ucQyyMMM&feature=c4-overview&list=UUL-MgWl4c3Iv-H1iy3YTbLA
I've installed
2.6.32_tytung_jellybean_r2
US T-mobile HD2
I've rebooted the phone many times and even tried reinstalling the ROM and I still have it.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
Thanks.
so this is about after clicking on menu button, it launches recent apps? or about the graphics glitches?
anyway, are you using the latest version of the rom?

This is about the graphics glitches. I have it so that when I hold down my menu button it takes me to the open/close menu. I have the latest version. I just checked for an update this morning and there was none.
try to remove the live wallpaper, and check force gpu drawing and similar settings in developer options and try.

Hey! Removing the live wallpaper did the trick. I don't know where to find the developer options (in settings?) but if I check the force gpu drawing like you suggested do you think that I will be able to use live wallpaper again?

Thanks! I now have developer options! I kept trying different things and finally found that disabling HW overlays fixed it! I hope that whatever that means doesn't screw up something else.
Hey, you seem to know a lot. I was also wondering if you know how to keep auto update on for the android play store but disable it for certain apps. My wife really does not like the new update to the google navigation/maops on her stock GS3 and prefers the old. I uninstalled the update to set it back but I didn't want to turn off her auto update because I know that she will never update her apps manually. Any suggestions?
@jimvsmij sorry, i have no idea about that

Open the Play Store > Go into the app you want to disable auto-update for > hit the menu button > You should find "Auto-update", uncheck it.
Other apps will update normally while this one won't.

I saw that option earlier but I thought that unchecking the auto-update would apply to all the apps.
Thanks!
