Best all round & simple SD rom - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi all, I have not been around here for a while due to commitments but I'm back now and wondering what is the best and most stable ROM around at the moment?
I'm using a m-deejay rom at the moment on my HD2 but I have allways had some problems with the GPS and the 3G connection dropping.
Could someone recommend a ROM with the features working and pretty easy to run from my SD card?
Many thanks in advance

First of all, ALL roms posted here are great and it is very difficult to decide which one is best. It totally depends on one's taste and requirements. But if you ask for my fav ROM then it's AmericanAndroid's SD ROM.

Thanks very much for the replies guys!
I'm just testing out american droid now. Can't find the andriod market place on there though

Just look for the answers in the ROM thread, you will get everything there
Enjoy your HD2!!!

I have tried. RAFDROID. DESIRE HD and AmericanDroid.. i found AmericanDroid the smoothest.
I like the Sense UI but Rafdroid and Desire Hd are laggy at times while running..
i like to know which is the most smooth Sense UI SD ROM.

I have long been looking for a good ROM and I can not find if you can recommend a good ROM?
Its all about personal preference, the only way to figure out which rom suit your needs is if you try them out yourself. Just go to the thread rom that you might be interested in and read what people say about it.
Also check out this thread its very helpful

MDJ's, and Dandiest's Roms seem to run quite smoothly with the NAND build.
I would definately suggest a nand rom, i just have probs with my rom-zip...
I used MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v2.6 (22 JAN) for a month.
I'm very happy on it. Fast, Smooth, and stable.
Definitely MDJ's Cyanogenmod 7 2.6 - Its the best NAND for me
I also use MDJs CyanogenMod 7 and I'm very happy with it
If your looking for speed i can recommend Sergio Coredroid 1.3 there is no faster build than this at present.
See my signature...

agreed, good daily driver
The best roms i have used have been the ones built by Motoman. Ive tried a good amount of the for SD and Nand and for the everyday use Motomans has been the most usable and best on battery life.

Well tha completley depends on what you define as "best" and "good" as opinions are subjective and stability differs from user to user and device to device.
Go try some and see which YOU find "good" or the "best" and you will then have your answer
anybody has a really good experience tethering with mdj or dandiest roms?.....trying 2 learn from u guys first to speed things up....so anybody? thanks guys.
Hands down the best rom is the one in my sig. It's crazy fast alot of customizing options. Pretty awesome battery life if you turn off what you don't use.

As pointed out you will get many posts claiming the rom they are using is the absolute best/fastest/most stable etc etc etc, but in reality it's just the absolute best for their needs. There's only one way to find the best rom today for you and that's to try a few out and decide what's BEST for you. Unless you also ask all of your friends which is the best girl to date/marry
If there was such a thing as the 1 best rom, then it would be the only one everyone was using and all other devs would just pack up and move on, but the reality is that each rom has it's group of ardent followers and they feel that rom meets their needs, but which most probably will not be what it is that you need in a rom. That's the reason why these threads are completely pointless as all you get are fanboi's claiming "mine's bigger/better than yours". At the end of the day after 50+ posts you are still none the wiser as to which one is best.

[Q] Best Android Rom for LEO HD2

hi,
i used the search function, but i doesn't find anything.
can anyone tell me which Android Rom is the best for HD2?
i think here are many people who has much experience with different Rom's and maybe they can tell me which one is the best?
sy, Gurry
He, he search function won't help.
Do you want it to run from SDcard or NAND or RAM?
Do you want it to have sense?
Are you looking for a Froyo build or a gingerbread build?
anyway, I use this one and like it:
[Dec 30][RAM] darkstone SuperRAM Sense v0.1 [kernel: Hastarin EB]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892797
Oh yes! XDA sells pancakes too. But I'm not sure which is the best one. LOL.
sorry for being sarcastic. But the "BEST" Android ROM is the one which YOU - yes "you", and only you - will find out by yourself.
Start reading, start flashing, and share us your thoughts.
Thread reported.
I understand what you mean. hey guys he wants your opinion on what you think is the best rom. it will most certanly help narrow down the long list. i personally think the NexusHD2-FRG83D_V1.7__Froyo_2.2.1_ is the best Froyo rom i have used. plus its SD which is easy. but im currently using a Cyanogen mod 7 gingerbread that im just not happy with cause i cant use the stock gingerbread launcher and im stuck with Launcher pro.. but i cant stand the "find out for yourself" answers.. lets hear some opinions here!
IMO, the Nexus Gingerbread NAND build by tytung is the best. VERY stable, very fast.

First and foremost READ READ READ before you decide and make sure of a few things.
1. Compatible with your device
2. You understand how to install it properly
3. You read the last 15 pages of the thread for current issues as well as the very first page posted by the cook.
This is just a matter of opinion because ROMS are more personal than "Best/Worst". They all have a certain personality to them so technically there is no "best" and the Kernel itself has a lot to do with how a ROM will perform.
I would say to ME the best ROM for HD2 is the HyperDroidGBX in NAND development. Small, ridiculously fast, great battery, very few things not working 100%, and not loaded with any kind of extra apps. Link in my SIG.
For me the dansiest rom is the best. Fast and stable. HTC sense works fine. Until i didn't find something that won't work. The development of the rom, updates and fixes is very fast.

In my experience Pongster's Hyperdroid(non-sense) is the best NAND ROM.
(next best was MDJ 2.6 but is no longer available)
Normally HTC sense rom will have a higher battery drain in comparison
I use this SD ROM: AmericanAndroid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
It works fine for me, has a low battery usage ...
The HD2 is not mine (company) so I dont want to to flash a NAND ROM.
I've installed CleanDroid 2.55 and I like it!
I use this [DFT/CWM] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.3 [Android2.3.2][Kernel: tytung_r6] - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060

[Q] Most Optimized Gingerbread ROM for HD2?

Let me preface this by saying I am not trying to start a "What is the best ROM" thread. My question is simple. Of the many Android ROMs available for the HD2, which is the most optimized and stable Gingerbread ROM? Furthermore, is there some sort of CM7 port for the HD2?
+1
Anyone help !?
After testing several Roms on my retired Leo, my best experience was with HyperdroidGBX. Very very fast, good battery life and overall an excellent ROM.

Personally, I've used NDT MIUI for a quite some time, it's not for everyone I guess, but you could always use a different launcher. It's never given me problems, and it runs smooth as silk
Before MIUI I was a hyperdroid fanboy though, both are excellent roms

I'm sorry but rephrasing the "What is the best ROM" question doesn't make it any different...U didn't even take d time out to check out the Android dev threads, cuz if u did then u surely would have seen not 1 but 2 threads featuring cm7 ports for the HD2....U won't get any real help here cuz we all use our phones differently, wats cool for me might not be cool for u so go out there and flash...flash..flash...Flashing is much safer & far easier than before with the help of CWM...Look @ screenshots & read devs/user posts on wat works and doesn't...Find d ROM dat suits U & U alone....XDA is a development site, so show some effort & u'll be rewarded.
By all means, start here.

I'm sorry but I really didn't want people's personal preferences on ROM's. When I meant the most optimized Gingerbread ROM, I meant the most optimized ROM. Not talking about features, looks or anything else. Just the smoothest one that runs Gingerbread. I also apologize that I didn't look around the forums enough to find the CM7 port thread. I'm still learning my way around these forums and I have very little knowledge regarding these ROMs and such but I will do my best to look for relevant threads.

I base my own tests on how good gun bros runs on the roms i have tested and till now only NexusHd2- from tytung runs this game without any problems. All other roms failed. It may be that i am doing something wrong but is very unlikely.
I've tried CM7 nightlies and tytung's rom, both have issues last I checked (last week). Tytung build seemed great, but just had the phone app lockup/issue mid-call (perhaps it's fixed by now).
I settled on Tyween's TyphooN CM7 "nightly" build, and have had no issues at all since the install.

If you are looking for the most stable and fast rom, try tytung Gingerbread v2.9. Many will tell you that it is simply the best andriod rom out there.

This is kinda like asking what do you prefer crunchy or creamy peanut butter...your bound to get many different responces. lol.
Check out this site. It lists almost all the nand android ROMs found here on XDA in a place thats much easier to find it.
AmeriCanAndroid is a great ROM and its updated often so thats always a good starting point. if your one that prefers HTC sense then maybe try out RAFDROID HD. i've personally found this ROM very fast and stable. If you like more of a iphone type feel then try a miui ROM out. i would suggest LADY MIUI or D4RK MIUI.
There really is no one best ROM, i think anyway. This is because everyone has their phone set up slightly different and also want different things on their cell. just try out a few ROMs intill you find something you want to stick with for a little bit of time and see how it goes. It took me several months to settle on a ROM because i always wanted to flash every new ROM that came out. lol.
I tried Miui, Sense and cynogen based roms; Miui has the best home applications like the camera app, phone app, etc. The fastest (real difference), with lots of tweaks and the best baterry for me is Dorimanx High end rom, although some of his builds are not stable because he is always updating his rom. Im using dorimanx rom right now, although im waiting to see if Hyperdroid is updated wich is another excellent rom.
Hello,
I tried BoyPPC ROMs and it's quite fast, stable and regularly updated so it seems well followed.

But I agree with previous comments that it depends on your configuration and your needs. each one has pros and cons and you should just test the one that best fits to your needs.
Since Feb I'm using AmeriCanAndroid (well, cope's sd rom at that time, before he and warrenb started together AmeriCanAndroid). Haven't changed to anything else since then. Have switched to the nand version since 2-3 weeks and I'm happy with it.
Pyramid
I tested many Roms.
Because I like that HTC stuff, I searched a long time for a stable Sense 3 ROM.
This ROM is amazing and works verry well and smooth:

[Q] some advice pls

hi guys.
So i have wp 7.5 nand and im kinda getting bored of it even though its stability is amazing(also speed) and i have android on my sd but all theses sd roms arent that satisfying so i am considering moving to android nand.
ive seen many nand roms that look amazing and my question is if i install nand on it will it be the same as a native android device (speed, stability,.battery etc...)
and do u think i should do that change?
if yes then please recommend some roms with eachs specialty
thanks
Note: i install many apps like 200+ thats why sd builds never agree with me, so also consider that(i have searched, watched videos but...)
thanks again

look around. No one answers these threads, especially when you ask for detailed analys of each roms specialities. ALL the roms are the best. If there were a best rom we'd all be using it.
As for android on band, yes its comparable to a real android device. Better than many, in fact.

It really comes down to personal taste, between cm7, sense, aosp, etc...
But android has come along way on nand and in some cases outperforms alot of phones(this is a 2yr old device but still a beast ;-) ) but just try a few roms and choose one. Grab the hd2 toolkit for your system partions and cwm, and off you go!!
Good luck!
Ps. I personally use tyungs nexushd2 rom
Its just pure awesome gingerbread
