Kies synced with windows 7
Anyone had success with this?

Nope. No suck luck

I had the issue yesterday. If you change the USB setting on the phone to select on connect it should work a lot better.

These are the drivers that i found, kies works perfect now.

Thanks for those, I will try them when I get my phone on monday (if Kies doesn't work with Windows 7 32 bit)
but what is the point of Kies though? lol to update firmware?? because on my HTC Magic Android I only use the mass storage for everything.

Honestly its kinda useless. It only has a video converter app built in for the galaxy s. But you dont even have to have the phone connected to use it

btw im on win7 64bit and confirm it works.

Thanks, that worked a treat, can see the inbuilt ROM and SD card now.

man.. i am still having this issue for 2 days straight now..
uninstalled.. safe mode, reinstalled.. super admin.. device manager.. ccleaner..
nothing works for me.. my windows 7 ultimate 64bit is still not detecting my phone.. even using 2 version of Kies..
Any other suggestion(s)?

Galaxy S MTP detection issue resolved!
got it working finally after toying with the application and the phone itself..
honestly, i did all the suggestions here including BuddyLee's suggestion but nothing worked including all my research from other forums.. what a waste of my time.
anyways, I finally got it working by doing "Format" for the internal memory.. unmount then format.. and yes, reset to "Factory Default".
after the phone restarted, I connected it to my Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit computer and success.. device manager finally shows GT-I9000, Kies shows it as GT-I9000 and My Computer as well.
Hope this helps anyone out there with the same issue where countless uninstall/reinstall, device manager troubleshooting, Kies Driver Recovery and Reset Phone to Factory Defaults didn't work at all.

For me it was enough to unmount/mount internal memory. And after plugging USB it immediately was detected by Kies

try this one.. go to google and seach "samsung kies download".. the first or second result should take you to the samsung download site for the Kies application.

I had the exact same problem i tried everything nothing worked so i rebooted the phone and BAM it worked
So reboot your phone then try again...

I don't understand why this file is so difficult to download. I have the file now finally!
I was able to get the sync to work via Outlook.

Sometimes it say that mtp device is installed, but kies not see it, but recognise it as mass storage...
how can i solve this problem?
when i connect the phone as Samsung kies on the screen it say initializing but is not lock on this screen...

Same problem here, using XP

Kies problem

I've installed Kies but it won't run on my xp pro 64 bit. It did work before I updated to Gingerbread but since then ,nothing. Kies won't run,either with the phone connected or not. Think it's more a problem of the pc but can't find a solution online. I have tried uninstalling,rebooting and re installing both Kies and the USB drivers to no avail. Attached file of error when trying to run Kies. Kies did connect ok when I could get it running but now I can't even get it to run.

have you tried running as administrator ?? also what about running in compatibility mode ?

I have the same problem after rooting with the Fug-Mod method. Maybe it is the same reason for your problem.

Custom-ROMs are not supported by Kies.
Try to run Kies in compability mode. Then reinstall the drivers. After that it work without issues. Or just reinstall Kies.
Just tryed to start it via XP SP3 mode and, like every time i execute Kies, it works.
Device: Galaxy S @ Simply Honey 2.3.3 (JVB)
PC OS: Win7 x64 SP1

Other people had this problem too. Reflash with stock firmware and use cf-root instead. Worked for me, even after flashing supercurio's kernel afterwards.

Update
I uninstalled all usb drivers,uninstalled Kies. Then I reinstalled Kies without connecting any cable or phone but I am still getting the exact same error message. Kies can't know I have my phone rooted or even which Rom I am using as I have not connected the phone but it still won't run. Any other suggestions welcome.

anyone ever succeeded using kies on osx ?
i'm using 10.6.8 and it still says, "reconnect the device in samsung Kies (PC studio) mode"
what does that mean ?

Haven't found that kind of problem, sorry. (i'm using 10.7.2)
Are you using the latest KIES version available @ samsung?

Works ok with me, but in the end I switched to using doubletwist. A lot better than kies.

i should take a closer look on why when i start kies on my mac et plug my SGN, i still have this strange message.
by the way, SGN roxx !!

deselect
go to menu/applications/usb debugging
uncheck the usb debugging...
worked for me.

that what i checked thinking of using adb sooner or later and completely forgot it

Galaxy Y touch screen problem

hi newbie here...
from Malaysia...
i have problem with my handphone..
first of all, i tried to install custom rom... and of coz i follow all the instruction including cwm and anything with recovery mode.. then after install the touch screen wont work so i could not start the android to begin the next process..
so then it leave me one other solution... i have to flash back to original rom which is gingerbread. after i flash back using odin.. the same problem happen touch screen wont work.. so i could not start the android as the phone ask me to touch the android logo to start... please help me... i have tried flash the standard rom a few times... it wont work... and of coz i also try the recovery mode > wipe all data and wipe partition.. its also would not work .. do i need to install driver for the phone... such as touch screen driver

I think the touchscreen is malfunctioned. So, you need to bring it to the repair center.

Best to bring it to a Authorized Samsung Service Center to have a look at and fix it

at last....
finally i did it... problem solve...
after 1 week thinking how to solve the problem... actually the its self i just bought 1 week also... hahaha
i have try many way how to solve this problem... from flashing using odin more than 10 time ... install more than 5 type of custom ROM...
i did solve my problem... its quit simple and easy..
just install your pc with kies.. download it from samsung or from cd (samsung phone box)
then make sure everything install perfectly.. then connect your phone with pc .. (make sure your usb cable in very good condition)
after that your kies will detect your phone... and then kies will detect your firmware .. if it is outdated.. kies will ask to update/install new one.. just install it.. and follow the instruction.. (i dont now what happen after that because i left my phone, quit a long time) then when i'm get back to my phone its already able to use the touch screen...yessss....
hope if any one have this similar problem can try this one... very simple and easy... coz i have try many thing that i will consider as hard job... hahaha.. and also i could not fine any solution in the internet for a week...

I think it might need touch driver as they mention here. but I don't know how to fix it.
or shall I send it to warranty, and if I send it to warranty do you think they might consider it out of warranty or not?

My samsung s4 GT i9505 was working on 4.3 os last from few days some error on display (Google stop service Like this ) i try to new Rom 4..4.2 by Odin
3.9,during installation Rom one Fail message on odin and after phone show on display phone Recovery mode with kies ,but my phone not connected with kies software.but phone going in downloading mode ,
please help me how can solve problem and how can Repair and which tool and Rom and other files use ?

First of all there is no need to use large bold format.

Almost all Odin errors can be resolved by the following:
- Different cable
- Different usb port
- Different pc.
- Try reinstalling the drivers (you can do this by reinstalling kies). Then make sure kies is not running in the background (alt+ctrl+del)
