I don't know how "real" is this version, it's on the market but the developer is MIYOWAWLM and i don't think Microsoft let anyone put their name in the developer field, so i doubt of the app

I read way back that Miyowa would be the official maker of WLM. If you go and google that company, you will see that they are the official WLM for WP7 as well and not MS.
This was quoted last year when WP7 OS was released:

I just go to their page and there is no news on an OFFICIAL WLM APP, they have their own app called "InTouch5 Social Dashboard" and have access to facebook twitter wlm an other...
I still doubt about this app

And if this is true I am buying one from China.
I saw those news too.
And that was confirmed by other people that no mt is provided and the phone can not be rooted and there exists no difference on the internal apps.
It seems that this update is only for restricting us from rooting

I think they are trying to push tablets back to the unified touch website interface. The only thing that sucks with that is you can 'send to facebook' and sync contacts.
Know of any other apps that handle just that?
Friend me is a great tablet optimized facebook client. But it is still in the earlier stages of development.

Install it on any other device then move it via astro backup or something. I did that and it works fine.
I use Friendcaster... not the tab optimized version though because it lacks a lot of functionality. Does look pretty however.
I just installed the 1.6 update on the Xoom and it force closes when you try to search. It's defiantly not made for the Xoom. Here is the APK if anybody wants to try it.

I'm on 1.5.4 and its always fcd on me searching for people. Has never worked right. You would think they would have given HC users a fully functional version by now.

I suspect this has to do with the fact that good Android devs are hard to find; good Android devs with Honeycomb experience are nearly impossible to find.

Yahoo had 1,000,000+ downloads along with Yahoo mail and Yahoo messager both are more popular than bing anything.
Bing only had 100,000+ downloads.

Yahoo's app was released on May 25th 2011, while Microsoft App was released on October 7th 2011... That's a five and half months difference between the two.
Which explains why Yahoo's app got more downloads and eventually recognized as a top developer.

Don't see why this would surprise anyone... Yahoo! has more of a portal reputation than Bing, which is mostly just search to the average consumer. There's also the simple fact that Yahoo! Mail is, I believe, the number one web-based email provider in the US (Gmail has an embarrassing fraction of its userbase). If you could reason that a giant chunk of Android users go to Yahoo on a regular basis, it makes sense that many would also use Yahoo apps. There's an enormous misconception in the tech savvy community that Yahoo is a dead last-gen service that "nobody uses anymore". The tech savvy aren't necessarily all that aware of reality, after all.
No worries, though. I assure you, Google likes Microsoft enough to throw Exchange support in without asking first.

Does the Yahoo app comes preloaded on any devices to potentially pad their downloads? Not a big fan of Bing, but I like their Windows app.

The view that it is not a paid app is wrong. Samsung paid for it on behalf of their customers. Thus it is a paid app and prohibited to be distributed on xda.
If you haven't heard about it yet then you are not using android forums enough! The popular BlackBerry Messenger which was previously available only on BB will now be released for Android and iOS platforms
The best part - the app for Android goes live for download today at 1630 IST. That's 0700 EDT for other folks. It will be a beta version (probably something similar to testing versions available to developers previously) and currently support only messaging. Voice and sharing options shall be rolled out progressively.

The major difference between Whatsapp and BBM is the way contacts are added. Whatsapp uses the phonebook automatically while BBM is invite only. Plus BBM messages are routed through encrypted RIM servers hence are considered more secure.
Note: Beta .42 release version is working flawlessly on 9082.
