I recently installed the K-lean rom for my CDMA vzw tab, and it works incredibly well, except for the fact that I cannot install anything from the market. I searched the forums, and force stopped, and attempted to clean cache ( there was actually no data to clear), and it did not help. Any suggestions?
Suggestion: Dont create a new topic to ask a question about a specific rom. Ask your question in the specific roms thread.
By the way, a bit more info would help. When you say "cannot install" what actually happens, does it say downloading? does it show and error? does it download and fail on install? etc etc, you need to describe your issue properly.
PS. You tried market enabler?
Sorry about creating a new topic, but when I tried to post in the original thread, it would not allow me, saying I did not have access.
So basically what was happening is each time I would attempt to d/l anything from Market, it would show up under notifications for a few seconds, then disappear. I did not try (or know about) market enabler. There was no error message either.
So basically I formatted back to stock, and will flash and attempt again today hopefully successfully.

I've been trying to search for this issue but couldn't find and answer so I decided to post it here.
About a month ago I decided to install the CyanogenMod4.0.4 ROM on my G1. I remember I was able to access the Market because I downloaded so apps onto my phone, but over the last 2 weeks, I can't get it running anymore. Everytime I go to open it, I get the 'force close' message. I've tried turning my phone off and on to see if that cured it but I still get the same message. I also noticed one of my apps doesn't work at all anymore (Shazam) which makes me wonder if I might of accidentally changed a setting somewhere which is not letting it work. I had downloaded a few apps from the market when it did work and some apps work properly and others don't. I hope this doesn't have anything to do with the ROM because I really like it and want to keep it installed...

have you tried running fix_permissions? that usually clears up a lot of problems.
no, I haven't tried that yet. I don't know how to run that. Where do I go to do that?
well, I figured out how to do fix_permissions
I ran it, rebooted my phone, but I still have the same issue. My Market doesn't open.
i guess I'm going to have to just simply re-install the ROM?
I know there's a new one out so I might just do that, but I'm hoping that I don't continue to have this problem when I update
You could always re install 4.0.4 again, that should repair the market and it should just upgrade so all your settings will still be there.... have you got the CM recovery bootloader installed? if not, do that firts, its a life saver.

I am unable to install anything...
it all started with me flashing phoenix and than SN... they all worked well
but after my last flash... my phone would not install any apk or install anything from tibu or from the market...
I took out the sim card and it decided to download...
so I traded in the phone and got a new sim card but the same thing is happeneing...
does anyone have a clue what the problem might be?
maybe a poblem from the maket to my account or bad app???

did that done that... clear cache and all that...
but in stock it works... only when using custom roms...
i tried other things but it seems to work without ext sd card....
maybe its faulty... but than it did work when i exchanged my sim card also...
i still cant figure it out but i gave up...

Are you getting some error or anything when trying to install an app. or does it just sit there doing nothing?
Also, what kind of apps are you trying to install? are they "trusted" apps or 3rd party ones from the market place. I had some issues with a few roms that would not allow me to install 3rd party apps ( so all apps haha) I found a security setting in the menu>settings>applications area
allow unknown source is checked and no its all apps in general including ones i dl off the internet and on sd card.
TiBu isnt able to restore it also.
no error message it just the install screen on the market and it just sits there and i am able to push the ok button on the install screen many times and it does absolutely nothing...

Ok, i found this on another forum,
"If your rooted and using a MCR rom, ie Vanillia or t-mobile stock style and you have recently rebooted your phone you may need to go back to recovery and do a repair ext filesystem in the partition menu." It worked for my friend who was having a similar issue. and since it does not do any damage to your current system its worth a try. Im still looking for more info for you

Thought it about time I had a go at hacking my Hero and thought I’d better start with a rom that seemed stable. I chose the ArmSense_XE_0.6.130 Android2.3.5+sense3.5 on this forum.
Root and install of the custom recovery was painless.
Flashed this rom and all seemed well. The first thing I thought I’d try was maps, as I want to check gps functionality, but no maps app to be found. I then remember reading in this forum that custom roms rarely contain the Google apps. I found, downloaded and flashed the 20110828 version of gapps (in the same way as I flashed the initial rom, but without doing a wipe first, I hope this is right).
Still no maps. I know they can be downloaded from the market (play), but the market app seems to fail. When I select it the screen goes white for a few seconds and then returns without displaying any error. Not wanting to give up I visited play via the browser, but this would not let me download directly to the phone either, as it reported that I must use the phone app to visit the site first.
I’ve obviously visited the market many times before on this phone, and am sure I set my Google account up properly during the setup. (though googlemail has changed to gmail during the time between I originally setup the phone and now).
The upshot of all this is that I have these questions:
Generally have I done the right things?
Should I have the maps and come to that gmail, which I now notice is also missing?
Any ideas on the problem with the market app?
And lastly, I was sort of expecting the same clock as shown on the op of the ArmSense_XE development thread be the default, but this is not the case. I quite like it. What is it and where does it come from?
Restored to my original stock 2.1 configuration for now.

The ROM you choose is far from being stable, that's why it's marked with the version ArmSense_XE_0.6.130.

The ROM already have gapps light, meaning that you can register your account and access Google Play.
Then you can download the apps you need like Maps, Youtube, Gmail, whatsoever...

Apart from a little niggle with the lock screen (probably me being unfamiliar) it all seems very fast and smooth.

SHPONGLE v3.5 is by far the fastest 2.3.7 on Hero in my (very fresh) experience.
Ok I have searched the forum for a solution to this (and googled it) but can't seem to find anything, although there is such a wealth of information that it is feasible that I may just have missed it.
Pretty new to rooting etc and so after rooting and installing CWM etc I decided to try and install FoxHound. I have tried several times now choosing a few different options each time (including one time where I didn't change anything and just left it all as it had been selected) I have also tried it with and without wiping \data first. Every single time the ROM works great apart from I get the error "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped working". If I try to open it up again I get the same thing.
Any ideas on how I can fix this because I quite like the ROM other than that.

I have similar issues, rom works flawlessly besides email stops whenever I configure it. This is on a fresj install of the rom, using various settings, yet every time it just crashes...

Your message app has become corrupt. ...maybe it was a bad download.... either try to download again or you could try to replace your message app in /system/app once you do that it should work well...ask the fox hound developer about this problemas well....hopefully it will work

Try clearing the data of the email app in settings/more/apps/ and try again.

I did try that with no luck. After checking the foxhound website, I stumbled across a zip file that fixes the email stopping bug, it can be found on their website (I cannot post links yet) and should be applied with CWM.
That fixed it for me and now everything runs great.

Ive been having the same issue since i installed foxhound, i finally got the messaging to work but had to sacrifice mms, now i installed the new update and its completely not working , can you help me locate the link please, im thinking of going back to stock but if i can fix the messaging will be great
Hello fellow OmniROM useres, I am using Omnirom on my international SGS4, always latest nightly.
But since yesterday I have this weird error message whenever I try to install an app over PlayStore

I had the same issue some time ago. I couldn't install new apps or update older ones. I couldn't even download anything.
I don't know why this happened or what the cause is. What did the trick for me was a complete re-install of everything.
Do a full wipe. Not even the os should remain. Install the latest os. Install all apps from the play store and restore your app data.
After that everything worked again.
