Today here in The Netherlands I was offered a software update, the first since JJ3. About device says it's Froyo 2.2 build XWJMK, with baseband XJMA, and kernel 2.6.32.9. *#1234# says the following:
PDA: P1000XWJMK
PHONE: P1000XXJMA
CSC: P1000PHNJM5
I'm guessing it's the same as samfirmware.com's JMK. But hey, it's official, and will update without flashing just using Kies, and as such should be fully supported by Samsung. It's of course still Froyo, and not the hoped for Gingerbread.
Superoneclick rooted it succesfully. Bootloader Patch reported a signed bootloader, but had no problem unlocking it. Great job, guys!
what type of tab is yours (sales code - CPW, XEU etc - cant remember the code to find out)
*#*#44336#*#* says CSC: P1000PHNMJM5. *#272*IMEI# says PHN. It also says Build time: 2011.02.22 11:01:46 KST. Changelist: 900323.
Can you extract the modem.bin?
Hm, this is a Kies update, so I'm not sure where and if it dropped an update file containing modem.bin. However, it may well be the same JMK update as that on samfirmware's site. I just checked and that one does have a modem.bin. It's even PHN.

Hi,
I would like to request the help of the Rooting Gurus
I have an S2 and the info of the phone is the following:
PDA: I9100XWKG1
PHONE: I9100XXKG1
CSC: I9100XEFKG2
From the thread in this forum I found that in order to root the phone I have to download the following firmware version:
XWKG1
Firmware info
PDA:XWKG1
PHONE: XXKG1
Date: 05/07/2011
Android 2.3.3
XEF (France): link1
TUR (Turkey): link2
ITV (Italy): link3
XWKG1 Stock Kernel:link4
From what I understand I have to download the first one (XEF France) since it matches my CSC code and also the XWKG1 Stock Kernel.
I use the custom firmware first with Odin and then the stock kernel in order to remove the yellow triangle.
This firmware though is version 2.3.3 and my problem is what do I do if I want to upgrade it (not from Kies)
From samfirmware I see that there are firmwares with version 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 but not sure which one I can use without causing a problem to the phone
In the firmware table for example it has the following two versions:
Europe Firmware .PIT Android Date CSC
I9100XXKG2 EXT4.PIT 2.3.4 2011 July 12 MULTI-CSC-OXAKG2
And
I9100XXKI3 EXT4.PIT 2.3.5 2011 September 15 CSC-OXAKI3
From the letter code (XX) in one of the threads here I way that XX letter code means:
XX---> Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, United Kingdom
1) Can I use any of the above firmwares even though it seems that the CSC code doesn’t match?
2) How can I change the CSC code?
Thank you in advance for your help
In short.....yes you can flash them.safely.
I am from Australia and use the UK csc.
Alternatively, you can flash the firmwares you like then flash just the csc you want after that over it.
If you have cwm recovery I would recommend doing a backup just in case you want to go back. Or just use Odin if you already have your stock firmware.

Good advice. These two thread offer a lot of good information.
I am new at all of this. So excuse me, I have recently purchased a GT-i9505 and was wondering what the newest firmware is for my version.
I cannot move my apps to SD card and I believe I have the old firmware as
PDA: i9505XXUAMDM
CSC: i9505OXXAMDB
I have tried Kies update and it says it is latest firmware PDA: MDM, Phone: MDM, CSC: MDB (BTU)
I am in the United Kingdom, and as far as I am aware it originated here as it came with a 3 pin plug. It is also unlocked and free of branding.
Why is the new firmware MGA not on my phone or on update? How do I get it, as I am running lower on room on my phone everyday.
Thank you

Here bro http://www.hotfile.com/dl/235905226/e7bdf1a/I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_BTU.zip.html. Flash this MGA rom with Odin. See item 1 im my signature for how to. This is the latest version atm. For moving apps you need root.
I recently flashed ANDROID REVOLUTION HD ROM FOR GT-N8000, and after a few days wanted back stock so i download stock rom from sammobile and flashed it through Odin.
Everything went well it showed PASS and reboots OK and works.
In the tablet it says THE LATEST UPDATES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED
But in samsung kies it says YOUR DEVICES'S CURRENT FIRMWARE VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED TO UPDATE VIA KIES
Device status in settings is OFFICIAL and also in download mode EVERYTHING IS OFFICIAL and FLASH COUNTER IS 0
I INSTALLED THIS VERSION:
Model: GT-N8000
Country: Iran
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: N/A
Build date: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000
Product Code: THR
PDA: N8000XXCMC1
CSC: N8000OJVCMA1
MODEM: N8000XXCLL1
In the attachments shows what samsung kies says
WOULD APPRECIATE ALL YOUR HELP
I think you may need to root it, and use triangle away to reset your flash counter.

You require your phone to present the correct codes to Kies .
Obviously CSC or one of the other codes is wrong . See multiple posts on the subject .

A few things that I have noticed is......
If you had the latest firmware previously installed on your device before rooting or even down grading your factory rom Kies will not recognize that an update was needed..
Only after a new firmware was released from Samsung that was higher than the highest firmware that samsung thought I have on my device would Kies show an update.
I had to bring my tablet back to the most current by downloading the firmware from one of the sites and then install in with odin.
?
did you check if that firmware supports kies? not all do

What i said .
Sammobile is not Samsung update .
I bought the phone which was brand new, couple of years ago. I wanted to update it to the latest OS but was unable to do so as it says it was modified.
After extensive research online, i came to know i have to flash the stock rom using Odin. But i am unable to find the stock firmware that matches the codes.
These are the results from *#1234#
AP : N9005XXUBMI7
CP : N9005XXUBMI6
CSC : N9005OJVBMI2
I am unable to trace the stock ROM firmware. Appreciate if anyone could give the link and the instructions if possible.
EDIT: Okay i managed to download the stock ROM of 4.3 from a website and successfully flashed it. But being in 4.3 it says the phone is up to date and has no updates available when i check for new updates

I downloaded the 4.3 OS and installed that matched my version. How do i go for 5.0 as it is not showing in my phone? Do i need to match the version codes as in that website the 5.0 version is not matching my phone version
Use the newest XXU* Version fitting to your home country best. In my case you would need Germany (DBT) because it was a unbranded german phone. Thus I need PDA: N9005XXUGBOK6 and CSC: N9005DBTGBOI1. Because I am NOT using stock at all anymore, I always use the newest BL and MODEM, but in your case just use the most recent Firmware which fits your origin and provider.

Seems like Sri Lanka has a N9005ODD* CSC in recent FWs, but you have a N9005OJV* one used in South Africa and Morocco currently.
So I would try these:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62194/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_XFM (South Africa)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61958/N9005XXUGBOK9_N9005OJVGBOI1_MWD (Morocco)
No guarantee though, but in theory it's not interesting at all which FW you use. At least I already used DBT ones and Nordic Country NEE ones and had no problems in the past.
So you could try http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62526/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005ODDGBOJ1_SLK (Sri Lanka) too. But as I said, FW update always is a risk and if you don't know how to fix stuff, it can be a nice activity for a whole weekend to fix stuff again.
If you want to be more sure and secure... load https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo and send the stuff shown in "General", "CSC-Code", "Firmware" and "Android" in here. Most interesting is the "Active CSC Code"

Isn't the different PDA version a problem?
Nope. PDA version changes from time to time. Check the firmwares for CSC XSI and you will see that they are Android version dependent. Same can be seen for any country.

I bought the phone in Carphone Warehouse in the UK, unlocked, with Marshmallow at the time. Sadly, I don't remember what CSC I was on at the time, but I am 90% certain it was XEU (UK / Ireland, unbranded).
I was on Nougat beta, officially through OTA and Galaxy Beta Programme app. Once Nougat became available, I flashed final BTU firmware with Odin, including the CSC field because I wanted to reset everything and start from scratch.
BTU DPLT https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/BTU/download/G935FXXU1DPLT/120208/
All good, everything works, apart from OTA updates... I am stuck on January security patch and I do not really know why.
Currently, recovery screen and Phone Info app tells me that I am on XEU, even though I flashed BTU CSC file quite a while ago.
Question is, how do I get OTA back?
Not sure which one am I supposed to download:
BTU DQD7 https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/BTU/download/G935FXXU1DQD7/130721/
XEU DQD7 https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/XEU/download/G935FXXU1DQD7/131369/
...and what packages am I supposed to flash, i.e. just AP field, with or without CSC?
Someone told me to deregister from Beta programme, but the sideloaded app obviously does not work anymore, server errors.

I'm also still also in january security patch. I had read somewhere that it's normal, because this updates are regional updates, so some regions need it more often and others don't. No need to worry about.

Hi, I'm not sure it will help you but when I flashed to the BTU CSC from Virgin's VIR I had to do it twice, the first time I used the home CSC because I wanted to keep my files, but then found out I was still on Virgin's CSC. I then flashed it again but used the regular CSC and started from scratch and it worked. I've been getting the updates ever since. As for which files you should use, I think I used all of them included in the folder that I downloaded from SamMobile.
