I've recently installed cm7 GRI40 and I've just noticed that I'm not receiving any voice mail notifications.
I've set:
menu -> settings -> call settings -> voicemail service to "my operator"
and voicemail settings to that of the orange uk voicemail number "07973100123"
I've been through all the other menu's to see if I've missed something but I can't find what else I may need to set up.
Would be great to hear from someone who knows how to fit this.

Does anyone know how to amend the number of rings before an incoming call is sent to voicemail on O2?
Go to Start-> Settings -> Phone
Then click on the Services tab.
Click Call Forwarding and click Get Settings...
You can tinker with your settings to your heart's content but your maximum time before forwarding to voicemail is 30 seconds.
Hi all,
2 questions re. accessing voice mail and miss calls list on the hermes:
1) On my old phone (very old Sony Ericsson T100), there is a 'check voice mail' option in the menu that lets me quickly check my voice mails (ie. essentially a speed dial). And it looks like the phone automatically configured itself to work out the voice mail's number (from the SIM?) Can WM5 do this as well? I'd like to have the voice-mail option somewhere that's easily accessible, so I don't have to hunt through my contacts list for the number.
2) How do we find the list of miss calls? Again, on my old phone, I could simply go to the 'miss call' menu option to see the list of miss calls, and all the numbers on the list stay there until I expicitly clear the list. Does WM5 have this facility as well?
cheers

Hi
Regarding 2) Missed calls.
If you have current missed calls an icon appears on the task bar. Tapping this brings up a list of missed calls (if you choose view.)
Alternatively you can open phone with the green button go to menu and in call history missed ones appear with an exclamation mark.

Regarding voicemail, this may depend what you can set up with your provider. With O2 I have it set up to notify me with a text message and a link to call sender (i.e. voicemail).

When I set up my phone I selected GV for SMS and VM. I got tired of getting two sms notifications when I received one SMS etc....
After I rooted N1 I tried to remove GV (unsuccessfully) and I selected "my Carrier" for the default on VM and SMS. Fixed sms but....now anyone who calls my TMO number gets sent to my GV voice-mail.
What can I do? Any help appreciated.
Doesn't answer your question, but just an FYI: You could go into the default message app and turn off notifications so that you only receive one when you get an SMS.
in order to disable google voice voicemail just dial this ##004# and hit the call button.
Go into your call settings and change the call forwarding numbers back to your carrier's vmail number.
Not sure why you'd want to not use Google Voice, since it's got vmail transcription, etc. Your multiple notifications issue is simple user error and that can be fixed by adjusting your settings.
Hell Yeah!!! Thanks a lot!! Momo
Every time I get a GV voicemail, I than get an email in my gmail. I love GV. hell I have had it since GC days 2007. Android is new to me. But I have laid down my crackberry habit of 6 years. My wife's G1 one got me started. Sure loving this community and my N1.
*******Unsari1 ,,I already changed my call settings back but that did not help.
no problem glad it worked.
Also, if you were getting 2 notifications for sms, it's because you had the notification turned on in both GV and in the small client and not because there's a flaw.
Posted in another thread, but thought this was relevant to this thread as well...
To any of you who are using Google Voice as your default voicemail app... do you notice the phone's settings revert back to carrier voicemail after a reboot?
If I go to dialer after a reboot and hit the voicemail button, it dials T-mobile vmail... and if I go to Settings>Call Settings, Google Voice isn't selected anymore. So basically, it has to be set again after each reboot...
I have unlocked my (Sprint) SPH-L720 (using the instructions on this forum) to use for Straight Talk. Here is my problem: The phone number in "Settings > About Device > Status > My phone number" is not only incorrect, it is the previous owner's number. These Sprint phones use Visual Voice Mail (by Smith Micro Software) and the app takes over the "Phone > Call Settings > Voicemail Settings" menu. This means that I cannot get to the menu screen that allows me to change the number that voicemail calls. Is there a way to root edit "My Phone Number" or the voicemail number so that voice mail functions properly?
