[Q] Custom Widget : Resizable table with 3 ScrollViews ! - Android Software Development

Hello everyone,
first of all, my english is bad. I'm french.
Let me introduce my problem : I want to create a widget, that will look like a bi-dimensionnal table. With x and y.
Please look at the following schema describing the behaviour I expect :
h t t p : / / i52 . tinypic . com / 2q2mj34.jpg (Sorry, not allowed to put links)
Why will I use 3 scrollviews instead of a single TableLayout ? Because I want this table to be resizable. Then all the scrollviews should be synchronized, when scrolling x represented by ScrollView 1 (horizontally), the canvas scrolls in X. The same when scrolling in y for ScrollView2.
How am I supposed to build the widget? I choosed to extend RelativeLayout for the main Class. I want the data that will be displayed by the widget to be refreshable. This data will be :
- X Labels
- Y Labels
- and Tracks (for coloured things in the grid)
Should I use an adapter? How am I supposed to do ?
Thank you very much for all your contributions, even the shortest.
Regards,
C.O.

Newton-ize your XDA! (the NewtonOS iPhone)

I have seen the iPhone thread which aims to make the XDA look like the mythical iPhone which supposedly would run OS X lite (or OS X phone edition) - anyway an OS X based phone.
What if...it ran the newton OS?
This is a project to make the XDA look more like a newton
I have created two splash screens, and a today theme.
Here are the splash screens - today theme will be forth coming
To do:
1. Phone app skin
2. Newton Application Icons
3. Control Panel Icons
4. Newtonization of windows icons for icons that don't exist in NOS
Feel free to contribute to the project.
Admiral
I made a mistake with the first splash and there was text overlap - here is an improvement
Here is a newton Theme gotten from pocketpc themes. (now I need to find the theme that I created some time ago )
OK here are two more themes
1. Newton OS (classic green)
2. Newton Mobile
(I think both are taken from pocket themes)
Any screenshots ?.
Cant open the zip files.
oh! I will post screenshots later on tonight (does anyone know what I can use to take screenshots of tha xda ?)
For the theme files, since the BB system did not allow me to upload .tsk files, I renamed them .zip - just change the .zip to a .tsk and put on your xda
admiral - look up software called Magic SS. Free software to do screenshots (in bitmap).
Post a screenshot - I'm thinking of doing a fairly heavy mod to the standard WM2003SE OS, so would be interested to get some ideas.

Screenshots of Splash Screens:
Screenshot of Newton.zip (when you download please rename to newton.tsk - download from post above)
Screenshots of the NewtonOS and newtonMobile themes
One more newton theme - and it's associated screenshot
Note on "splash screen #2"
The icons on this splash screen are standard NewtonOS icons.
Calls - call's you've made from your newton (this can be the phone app)
Dock = sync application (can be ActiveSync)
Calculator = Calculator
Works = Word/Excel/Drawing application (can be MS word/excel)
Notes = Note Pad
Owner Info = where owner info is set (in WM it would be a control panel)
Clock = Alarm
Dates = calendar
Names = Addressbook
Card = Storage Card
In/Out = Inbox
Time Zones = no such app exists in WM, this oculd be an icon for WorldMate
Prefs = Control Panels
Formulas = A converter app (dont know what the WM equivalent would be)
Classroom Dock = this was specific for classroom usage (get naswers to sets, setup devices and such)
I will attempt to post more icons from my newton

I've already saw this problem but was unable to find where it is !!
The text of my location's weather, i.e. : the city's name, the weather's animation and temperatures are not good aligned : there are superposed to the clock !!
How to fix it ?
Thanks !
EDIT:
Problem similar to this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611909&highlight=weather+problem but with weather going over the clock.
Solved uninstalling Touch X Background4all.

[Q] touchups to my todo view/edit screen?

I'm writing a simple todo list app but I'm not very creative in UI designing. I've created a basic view/edit screen for my tasks which works great, but looks very basic. Can someone please suggest a better interface? I'd be very thankful if someone can design a layout, but even if someone can draw me a layout screen in paint, it'll do for me.
A "task" in my app will have following properties:
- Task Name
- Project Name
- Priority (can be represented as color too)
- Due date (it can be a date or none)
- Done date (it can be a date or none)
- Note
Screenshot and layout files are attached. Thanks much!

Testers wanted...

Hello, I've created a note app similar in appearance to that of the default iPhone one only with more features. I'm looking for testers as I've recently made some big updates so would like to work out any issues also suggestions. The app is called classic notes and it's in the market. Here is a link via the web:
https://market.android.com/details?...ns.app.notesclassiclite&feature=search_result
Features at present:
* Export notes as text to SD
* Share
* Export/Import entire database
* Google translate notes
* Text to Speech audio playback of notes
* Add notes to Google Calendar
* Add notes to status bar
* Create Home Screen shortcuts of notes
* New Note Homescreen shortcut
* New Note Statusbar entry
* Modify timestamp
* Note Details: create date, modification date, word count, character count, line count
* Search note contents
* Search database
* Image support
* Audio notes
* Video notes
* Geotag + Address look up support
* In note content search with hi lighting and search & replace options
I've updated with the app to now include private notes and file attachments e.g PDF, MS Word, MP3, PowerPoint, etc
Is there anything specific you want for us to test?

Nope and new update released if anyone wants to give it a go. New features:
- To-do support w/ privacy options for password protection
- Priorities - Prioritize notes, to-do's, to-do tasks
- Sorting through notes, to-do's, tasks will remember your preference
- Attach To-do's to notes
- Tagging & tag sorting. From the sort menu you can choose the sort by tags option and a list will be presented with all tags you've entered and choosing one will display all notes/todo's with that tag.
I will try this out
-Downloaded, have some suggestions
Ability to change font size
I love the sketch feature. When attaching though, it would be nice to have a preview image like the one for an attached Image. (Instead of having to hit the tiny "attached sketch" link
Will add more as I use this over the next few days.
i'll check it out.
push to evernote/db?
EDIT:
Tried to add To Do List to homescreen shortcut...
"Sorry!
The application Loading... It may several minutes to complete, please wait (process.com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
EDIT II (the sequel):
same thing when trying to More>New Note Shortcut from main screen
EDIT III (the sequel returns):
lol it put them all on my first homescreen. i have 4, the default homescreen is 2
i'd like to be able to change the text color to black. other than that, i really like it so far!

That should be easy enough to add. BTW, there is a font option in the main screen menu though it doesn't change the size but rather the reverts to default android font which actually looks bigger.

For some reason HTC sense always seems to pose a problem for me lol. On the emulator, n1, and galaxy s w/ cyanogenmod I have none of those issues. BTW, which font color are you referring to. The brownish one?
I tried it. Looks pretty nice, the style, color and font! The Add to statusbar option is nice.
Bug: Add To-Do option FC's.
"Request": I would say an "Add a new note" button at the bottom of notes list would be useful
LG Optimus Black P970
I think I'm keeping it until I see the first ad popup.
Common task shortcut buttons on the main screen would be more user friendly then having to go through the menus
