Battery Drain Issues - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi to all....
I just wanted to know how much battery drain you guys have cause my galaxy's battery barely even lasts for a day even though i've calibrated the battery(not just once)!!! :S
Please post your drain if you can and with what type of usage you do cause my drain is insane!!!!

Multiple battery drain posts all over the forum and fixes . read them .

You find a lot of topics about battery drains, please read them. Just as an introduction you must know, that after flashing a new Rom and kernel you'll probably get a stupid battery drain, which means that maybe you have 100% all the time, or in the most of the cases you get a HUGE battery drain. I had the same problem, after installing a new ROM, my phone was sucked... at night with wifi and GPS and 3g turned off it lost 60% battery from 100%, so when I woke up I just noticed that I have 40%. It has been resolved automatically. Now I have 3days battery with no hard usage, but it takes 2 days in almost every cases. I'm now Darky 9.5 and Darky Core kernel.

SHould some faulty app , i had 2.1 2.2 and 2.3 on the phone i did never noticed such a huge drain , the phone was always quite enough for a full day of usage .
Any congrats on fixing your issue
Battery drain depends on the ROM ( kernel )you are using!
JYP ROM 2.3.4 ( e.g. Ficeto , Criskelo etc ) battery drain is almost not a problem at all . Battery can last up to >3 days depending on the usage .
I installed the Master CPU. Battery lasts 3 days.
I am moved from 2.2.1 on 2.3.4 JVP Chainfire kernel and I have no battery drain at all.
I think battery life increased 50% minimum. Standby on 2.3.4 is amazing
as if 2.3.4 is a little better

Regarding all these battery issues...

Like most of my fellow XDAers, I've been struggling with battery management issues. What apps to install, CPU hogs and all that jazz.
However, while I've been very pleased with the battery life I was getting from my U8800, I saw several guys complaining of horrible battery performance. I thought that they were just 'doing it wrong'...
I now wonder...
Since November I started noticing strange battery issues. Very fast draining, misleading battery readouts... I wiped my device, flashed it with pretty much all roms (custom and official) available but my battery kept screwing me. And its been worse as time gone by! I now hardly get 8 hours with at most 1 hour of usage.
I'm now posting this after calibrating my battery 4 times the day before and the first time I used our today my battery life went from 100% to 82% in less than 5 minutes! CPU spy reports 85% of deep sleep. Better battery stats has hardly anything logged. I already ordered a new battery but if this keeps going on...
Thoughts?

Why did you calibrate 4 times? How did you calibrate it?
Charge it to full, calibrate battery using app/recovery/deleting batterystats.bin, leave it to totally discharge, fully charge. It is not calibrated until you go through a couple of charge/discharge cycles.

Problem with my battery.[ ICS ]

Hello there guys.
I have a really HUGE problem with my battery.
I have the infitum rom, and my battery life is very VERY low.
At 8:00 in morning, I had 100% battery life, ONE HOUR later ( At 9:00) I had 70% battery life.
This is very weird, my battery is getting to 0% after couple hours if i'm not playing games or hearing music.
This thing is not the rom problem, I have tried slims and Doc's master, same battery life.
How I can fix / increase it?!
Please help me.. :O
thank you.

Depends by your phone's usage, if you don't use much your phone but still the battery dies after some hours, you should try re-flashing everything with the wipes

ICS Upgrade gives you a shorter battery life ??? Read how to get long battery life

Hello friends,
Here finally I upgraded to ICS and honestly I get great ( huge ) battery life..
before also I get upgrade and i get very low battery life because of low calibration of battery without my knowledge..
so I've reverted back to gingerbread 2.3.5 and I'm happy
But who wants older version when the new shiny and superb upgrade of ICS is there anyone ???
So finally I upgraded to ICS and after many searching ,, finding ,,, reading and confusion with doubt The great battery life will be came out from our Loving SGN.. so please do not get disappointed just see below.
Really here I provide you some small and very easy steps by using it you will be definitely be happy with your ICS upgrade ..
you doesn't have to go anywhere and doesn't have to buy anything with your valuable money ..
Really happy
Then read it and get longer and more juice from your battery..
you have to follow some easy steps below
1 . First upgrade your ICS from any source whichever you like ... by kies air or Kies on PC or mobile odin or Via PC ODIN [ please do full charge of battery before any upgrade low battery can make your phone unusable or dead you can get more info on other threads ]
2 . Hope you have upgraded successfully.. then use your phone till your battery goes down to 5 % or below...
[ Caution ] Do not use it till it switched off automatically.
3 . Plug your charger and charge it till morning if you are charging at night or else charge it around 6 to 7 Hours even after full charged .. it's important step.. Do not Ignore it ..
4 . and then use it as per your requirements till battery shows 5% or below
5 . Repeat the step 3
6 . Do it around 8 or more charging cycles.
You get really miracle after 3 or 4 full cycles...
[ caution ] do not overcharge after that i.e just do 6 to 7 hours charging for around 5 - 6 cycles ... after that charge till battery shows full charge i.e around 3 - 4 hours. do not overcharge ..
made it habit of full charge cycles if you are comfortable with it. it really gives great battery life then average battery life.
Hope It'll be helpful to you
Regards
It is better to charge randomly than doing full charges every time on Li-Ion batteries.
Doing full charges every time on Li-Ion will result in battery being end-of-life faster...
Overcharging is also bull****. The phone automatically stops charging the battery when it's fully charged.

As per research the full cycles of Li-on battery gives good hold of charge and also batter life..
in all honesty your post is as useless as mine right now.
According to me, It can be considered as myth . . If the battery needed to be calibrated then it must have been official.. n 2ndly the procedure above is not professional at all... So dnt even think it wud work.... Neways someone can always try and authenticate...

Doing full charges for calibrating the battery: no problem if you do it once in a while
But you are suggesting people to ALWAYS do full charges on their Li-Ion battery...
8-10 cycles after eachother is too much as well. 2 charges will be enough.
thanks for more info bro
maybe 2 is enough but in many cases it'll be not...
Why do you need to do this just because the OS has changed? And if so then why is it not require on GB?

I totally agree with you!
Also, never let a battery dry for long periods, it will be damaged beyond repair.
Lithium Ion batteries perform better when you keep it as charged as possible.
I call this thread BS too... But I thank the user for the effort
Yeah ICS battery life sucks. I've done what OP said and I still get 4 hours less Battery life than what gingerbread would give me.

It's essential because all the states of your battery will be wiped in most of the cases while you upgrade also it's helpful to you if you upgrade your ROM.

ok bro try this procedure and also report us..
In most of cases we have solved this issue with this procedure even i had this issue before now it works like a charm.
I did several full drain and full charge cycles when I upgraded to ICS. Still got the battery drain bug so I think its more luck than anything else if your battery lasts.
In my case I've discovered that power cycling the device after charging is the most reliable approach.
Install CPU Spy, run it after a charge, reset the timers, and then leave your phone in standby (screen off) for 30s or so. Unlock the phone again, and check CPU Spy - if the 'Deep Sleep' cycle is unused then do a phone restart. This has worked EVERY time for both me and a friend who I told about it. I'm getting similar battery performance to when I was running GB!
Battery life depends on a lot of things, ROM version is not the main thing.
This is my setup:
ICS version LQ3
Speedmod 3-3 Kernel
Disabled a lot of Samsung stuff (Readers hub, social hub...)
No automatic sync of twitter, e-mail, etc
I get pretty much zero battery drain when in deep sleep mode.
Of course when using the phone, screen on, Wifi On, autobrightness... battery usage is bigger and you can drain the battery in only 4 hours if you go for it.
Be careful with:
- Live wallpapers, I've seen cases where they remain active all the time
- Apps syncing data on background every few minutes (facebook, twitter, etc)
- Apps uploading a lot of data on background (google+, dropbox..)
- Games that crash and leave the CPU in a high power state until you reboot
Agree

I am agree with this reply.
If you want to get best battery back-up;
Disable all apps which are working in background, sync n update really eat the phone battery.
I am using my note with active mobile network or wi-fi for a whole day and playing games too without doing this F**KING trick.
The only way battery life gets sucked of Galaxy note is if it doesn't go into deep sleep when not in use.
To all those reporting low battery life: How much battery do you end up losing overnight. ( approx 6-8 hrs)
I typically lose <5 % ( best case scenario has been 1 %)
I had a problem last week and lost 30% overnight and found that it deep go into deep sleep.
and the best solution i found in another thread was to unlock the phone before unplugging from charger
Simply try it: For me normal time between charges is 36 hrs ( battery is near 25% level)
Witches broom battery modification
Battery Lifecycles are connected with the phases of the moon. So you'll get the most out of your battery if you dance at midnight when having full moon spitting five times on your battery.
Many people are of the myth of overcharging n recharging, but its not true wIth lithium batteries, phone will automatically stop charging, if only anything helps its battery calibration,u can do this with a free app called battery calibration, time for the tread to be regarded as close, still useful for noobs

Poor batter life

I changed from Note 3 to s 6 edge plus recently
The battery drops 5% per hour overnight when not in use. If I go to bed with less than 40% battery at night I am sure to wake up with my phone switched off in the morning.
When in use with screen on, the battery drips one percent every two minutes. This is the worst battery life I have ever seen in a phone. I was a long loyal customer of samsung and this is my last samsung phone ever.
Extremely disappointed
Please post your battery stats ? so we can have a better understanding of your problem. I suggest you install 'Doze' which should stop unnecessary apps from connecting to the internet and causing your phone to awake from deep sleep.
Dear Akbar 11
Heres the battery stats....is it normal?
I had the same issue, and as far as I managed to find out, it is a bug in Samsung's kernel. Flashing Arter97 kernel solved the issue for, but do post battery stats from SmartManager. If it says 'Android' or 'Android OS', then you have the same problem many of us do.
I don't think it's a kernel problem. My android OS is very low 4%. Like zoolok said post your battery stats from settings, battery, battery usage
I have the same problem. Battery was great before I flash custom rom. After going back to stock I have big battery draining. I must stay on custom rom. With Audax rom and Skyhigh kernel i have great battery life.
You have either messed up something big or you have an app in the background that is eating up your battery like no tomorrow.
And the reason i say that is because i recently got this battery life on my Galaxy S6 edge+.
And this was taken 2 days ago.
Here i use the CRISSCROSS ROM, AudaxPro Kernel, Greeinify and Samsung's own 'Appoptimizing' feature (same as Doze in Android 6.0).
So my battery life is pretty awesome.
i have problem whit battery lose 25% when i sleep
This is a usual day with s6 edge plus
Any help?

i have this problem battery ... if u fixed it tell me how?
Well I was expecting Google Play Services to be eating your battery (which is quite common) but it looks like your Andriod OS is eating the most battery. I would uninstall Facebook and use the web version it always helps with the ram and battery furthermore, turn off location if you are not using it and check accounts which are being synced. These are the only tips I can give you as I have never seen Android OS drain so much battery.
Since a few days Google Play Store is eating up my battery: I go to sleep with 100% batt and wake up with 50%, if I check batt stats on top I have play store at 45%, with 5h active a d 2h of CPU.
Follows Android system at 5%.
Going crazy why...

You've charged your phone 4 times during that day. I can't see what's the interesting part here.
