Windows phone update - Epic 4G General

Apparently, the next update is on hold due to getting all handsets to function properly once it's installed. Sound familiar?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App

Sounds like just about every software update since Ever...
Texted while driving

ya, think I 'd have to agree. Since when isn't that the case for all updates?

Just saying that it's not the fragmentation versus closed system problem everyone pretends it is. Either one phone waits or everyone waits. I'd rather gamble on getting it late rather than not at all if one phone can't hack it.

EC05 issues. Sprint and sammy did a great job with it
This **** happens four times a day on a good day. god damn it samsung I hate having to battery pull so damn often.

Had refurbished Samsung android moment and it never worked the same as original. Seems to be the consensus by other Samsung Android users I've talked to. Sprint and Asurion can't fix a phone...... who would have thought.... lol.

Government snarfing cell data

Ladies and gentlemen, have you seen this **** its on the register. Basically this company, cellebrite is selling ufed devices (universal forensic devices) to police. The police can then read all your data off your phone via hardline, IR, or Bluetooth. This includes phonebook, handset data, sms, mms, SIM data, multimedia, and time and date stamps.

www.forensicswiki.org/wiki/Cellebrite_UFED
What happends when criminals and criminal organizations get ahold of one of these devices?
I would think this would be a breech of privacy. If this is real than this is just completely dumb
I heard this on the radio this morning. It sounded like it has been going on since iphone upgraded to iOS 4. In michigian the police can take your iphone and plug it into some sort of hardware that pulls all your info from GPS and phone calls! The info is also uploaded to itunes, WTF!!!
feeling even better right now about owning a android
It handles 3000+ different phones so I wouldn't assume Android is excluded.
Eff the police.

It's called the 4th Amendment. Preserve it, or lose it. Once you let the Govt take it away you'll never get it back.

From what I've heard the 3d may be locked down
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
I think it's too close to release for the evo 3d to be changed, or at least that will be their excuse I'm sure. They built it into the hardware after all.
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
wow didn't know it was a hardware thing, that would really cripple the sales for devs and ppl like me who like full access to everything in the phone. I hope they can unlock it through a software update.
Sent from your Mom's Jitterbug
The cryptography and sign checking is supposedly built in to hardware. If the software can tell the hardware to ignore it, then maybe... But that may or may not be possible.

Kind of odd that they would call him. And... did he actually patent the app or did he just put it up for sale? Also, it's a common feature. It isn't as if they were going to avoid adding this because one person or a dozen people created an application to do it. Secondly, it isn't like they are selling it. It is merely included in the os.

Not surprising for me. I reckon Apple will also claim that the notification center is completely their own Idea.
But what can you expect from a Corp that accuses MS of stealing the window approach when Stevie stole exactly that from Xerox.

Cannot root... Sigh

So I had to get a new EVO due to a bad refurbished phone... Had a bum screen. So it came with gingerbread... And last nite I sat down to root it and get back to flashing and well.... I guess it had a bad Nand and won't take the root process. I've tried a couple different computers hoping... But oh well. Guess I gotta find something wrong and try another phone... Thanks for letting me vent.
