Anyone Figured out how to update Market on A7 with DexterMod

Has anyone found a way to update the Market on the A7 with Dexter's 1.1 Mod?
I tried replacing the Vending.apk via ADB over wireless, but it did not work. (said install failed - update incompatible) I've also tried renaming and copying the vending.apk manually to the system\app. It let me do that, but still no joy.
My wife's Nook Color has a much cooler looking Market, and it will scroll forever through apps and games. It seems that the market on the A7 doesn't scroll at all hardly. Anyone else having this issue?
I have tried....
I was following the instructions from Dexter in the developer's section. I was able to get it loaded one time, but the first application I downloaded, I ended up in a Force Close error. I checked the permissions and they were fine. I do not have enough posts to post at the original spot to let them know my results .
I spent a couple hours on it trying a variety of things (from the forums) with no luck. Hopefully Dexter will put out a new update and include the new market.
I was able to figure out how to update Facebook app and some others with no problem, but this seems to be different.

Try pportrait view. I have that problem with mod 1.0c, as I have not installed mod 1.1
Portrait view scrolls fine with my setup, landscape doesn't.
I can't believe that the fix is that simple. So, if you have the problem of the market results not scrolling down, switch to landscape, scroll (it should scroll further), the you can go back to portrait mode and keep scrolling...crazy. Thanks!

[Q] CM7 on SD, cannot download some apps

Loaded CM7 via SD card per directions from this web page (which were great, by the way).
I can get into the apps market. I can download many apps. But I cannot download basic ones like youtube and flash. In the market, there is no "download" blue button like on other apps. Button just never appears.
Anyone? Thanks in advance.
(by the way, love the quick references the board provides to similar topics when you type your subject line. Slick, and user-friendly!)
The new market is "device aware" or won't let certain applications be downloaded to devices that don't meet requirements (example: GPS).
You can get around this one of three ways
1) Download to another device and transfer the apk via ADB or TB
2) Uninstall the market updates on your device to the old market (pre-device check)
3) Find an old gapps zip and install vending.apk to gain the old market back (pre-device check)
thanks. Know where I could GET those pre-check market files?
I am guessing a lot more people are having this issue if this is the case.

Yes. MANY people have been having this problem. I'm guessing there are quite a few posts on just the front pages right now.

[Q] no matches found for: null

Hello all, I did this rooting http://nookdevs.com/NookTouch_Rooting and I'm not happy with that.
1. I cannot make Market working. It fails due to missing library.
This did not help http://nookdevs.com/Honeycomb_Google_Apps_and_Market I installed two files at the bottom of the thread as suggested. Vending application still not working.
2. Search in many aplications doesn't work.
3. no matches found for: null shows when I try to download a dictionary in colordict or even Opera showed this couple of times.
Many other apps work as expected but some of hey features are still missing.
Is it a good idea restore the backup and root with touchnooter? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132693
I don't know if I can re-root with touchnooter without restore?
Market fix
because of this error this Market fix does not work either.
"blog.the-ebook-reader.com/2011/07/15/rooted-nook-touch-fixing-market-search-and-other-tips-and-tricks-video"
Installing the SearchMarket App
From the Nook Touch, open the Opera web browser.
Type “searchmarket app” in the Google search box located in the upper right corner.
Google will automatically show results for search market as two words so you have to select where it says “Search instead for searchmarket app”.
Then the first listing will be for the SearchMarket app at AppBrain. That’s where you want to go.
At AppBrain, tap the QR/more icon. Then scroll down a little and tap where it says install. It will re-direct to the SearchMarket listing in the actual Android Market to download and install.
Once installed, it will appear in the Nook’s app drawer where you can use it to successfully run searches in the Android Market.

Market
Hi, Yesterday I deregistered the nook and rooted with touchnooter which works better than root image I used before.
Google apps work so far except Market which cannot connect. I'll try Vending.apk which you posted.
edit1: Newer Market works just as expected and I fixed also search with SearchMarket app. I thing touchnooter is a good choice.

Latest Wechat not working in ppgraded Samsung y s5360 to Lollipop

Hi,
I have a Samsung Y S5360 (which I like a lot) and Wechat was insisting too much on updating to its latest version, for which I had to upgrade to a newest ROM, so I got Lollipop (just that was a log process for me, as I'm not an expert, but I'm learning a lot the last days). Anyway, so I am installing apps now and I have some issues that's not making it so easy.
1. I'm in China so I have no access to Play Google. Also installing downloaded apps from the SD card has only worked until now for Link2SD and Superuser, all other apps I tried to install that way get parsing error.
So, I'm getting apps from Baidu and Chinese apps provider. My Chinese reading is less than okay, so I kind of follow by instinct, which is possible, that way I've installed already Pleco, and another couple of apps successfully. Except for Airdroid, and Wechat.
2. The problem with Airdroid is that I could get a 2.something version but not the latest 3.something, and as I tried to get it, even from Airdroid web, it's not working.
3. The problem with wechat, which is way more important to me than Airdroid, is that I get to install an old version, but still newer than the one I used to have when I was on Gingerbread. One strange thing that happened is that the look of it though wasn't the same as the new style of wechat but as the Wechat of a year or so ago. Strange. ... Besides that, then the most relevant issue is that once installed the old version I get the message to update it, once the update is downloaded and installed, I opened it and I only get to see the opening image (the earth and the guy) and that's it, it stops.
I tried installing the latest version from some of the Chinese providers of apps, but it happens the same. It's installed, and it's opening, I see the earth and the guy, and then off to the screen of icons in android.
I've tried to uninstall and install, wiping cache in between. Didn't worked. I tried redoing the process of installing the ROM all over again. Didn't work. I tried to leave Wechat in the phone, and not move it to the SD Card. Didn't work. I tried kissing the phone, and chanting some Hawaiian healing songs. Didn't work.
Here I am, at the end of the day, trying another way, I kind of believe the force is with XDA devs

Noob - advice needed please!

I'm getting a Fire HD10 delivered tomorrow.
I've read through a lot of threads on here but so many seem to be dealing with the hd8 & non root solutions & some seem to contradict each other or have been made outdated due to new solutions etc & my heads spinning a bit!
I want to root it, install Google services & play store, disable stock launcher & use nova launcher.
Is there are specific order I need to do, or should do, all this in?
What is the preferred method for installing Google play store?
Also, how do I block OTA updates? I've seen a couple of threads mentioning it but haven't stumbled on a specific way that appears to work?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have done all the above and here is my person slant:
Google services do not require root so can be done at anytime just make sure you get the right files and the right versions
Using nova launcher as your default launcher can be done with or without root but with root is much easier (you just freeze firelauncher)
Stopping further ota updates for me is done in two ways:
1) block at the router level (this obviously can be done independently of the device)
2) with root again freeze BOTH ota apps. One is for system updates and one is for app updates I freeze both just to be safe and have never been notified of the update to 5620... Still on 5610
As far as rooting itself I would use the offline method listed in forums here. Personally after rooting I took an additional step and loaded one of the predone images also found in forums that had root and xposed all built in. This additional process required the use of the flashfire app that is a whole other set of procedures but overall is well worth it. Flashfire will give you the ability to update to newer software versions without updating the bootloader. Thus you will always be up to date but not lose the ability to downgrade if needed. This ASSUMES you are initially on 5601 or 5610. If your already on 5620 your bootloader is already locked from downgrades.
