DFT - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hi
I have installed DFT,s 2.2 on my windows phone and it works fine however there is one problem....The GPS wont lock..it just keeps searching..I think it has locked once or twice.
Will I have to install a different version rom
regards

Hi,
Could you please provide more information about the ROM you have installed.

hi
yes the rom I think is DFT_LEO_NAND
HSPL: 2.08
MAGLDR: 1.13
Radio: 2.15.50.14
The above I also installed
regards

Hi,
I'm still not sure which ROM you have, but you have enough on your phone to install a new ROM.
Browse the following list:
http://android.hd2roms.com/
Choose a ROM which you think will suit you and read the thread carefully ,especially the bits of the ROM that work and the bits that DON'T work(I.E. GPS)
Then follow the instructions on the [OP] carefully, paying attention to the required system partitions.
Good luck

hi
I have looked at the roms where you said but lots of them required a lot of knowledge....I want one that lets me load the bootloader, go to USB Flasher and install the rom from my computer...is this possible.
best regards

there arent many USB flasher (dft) roms left, , look for DFT in the rom title,
examples are
[21 FEB][DFT/CWM][data.img/ext4/reiser/btrfs]"Stock Desire" MOD V4 [KERN:V4]
[23.FEB.11][DFT] CleanDROID v2.55-Froyo+CM [Kernel GL_Core_v5b]
[26.JAN][DFT/CWM] NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G [Android2.2.2][Kernel: tytung_r2_oldcam]

[Q] Installing a new (different) android OS

I'm really new to all this and so I apologize for a redundant question. If you can lead to to the correct thread or just answer the question that would be wonderful. I installed android on my sisters HD2, not sure which version it's just there. I know it's NAND but to be more specific I don't know which OS. She wants me to put 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread on there and I'm wondering how to do that. The guides I'm reading on here say to go to magldr and then open the ROM on my pc and click the DAF and install it. I thought I installed the right ROM but that file does not exist. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I expect that your best bet would be to check the Droid nand threads and see if you can recognise the one you used

Go to Settings > About Phone to find all the details you need - the Android version, the ROM version et all. And then decide if you want to load a new NAND ROM or not.
you should install cwm, too. it's one step more but it's worth it and you will have a lot more choice when chosing a rom.
i don't know a up to date rom that is available as a daf flashable version.
full guides on how to install it are in the rom thread most of the time.
Install cwm and then try this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026, its one of the fastest rom i have i used so far, one thing tho it doesnt have sense but im sure your youll still like it.
I have just purchased a HD2 aswell and would like to install android gingerbread... i have read through the how-to threads on here 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060' a million times and being the worlds most useless person with a mobile i just dont have the courage to do it as i dont understand none of the terminology etc... could somebody please point me in the direction of a full step-by-step guide for dummies lol
i am currently running on:
flash size: 512mb
OS version: 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
ROM version: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
ROM date: 10/26/09
Radio version: 2.04.50.22_2
(i believe these are the ones most mentioned in the threads... but mean nothing to me )
i could literally do with the lamens guide with pictures the lot.. BUT any help for a so called 'newb' would be very much appreciated.
thanks in advance
PLEASE HELP .... i have installed maglrd, clockworkmod recovery 1.2.7 etc... then realised i hadnt installed the android itself so i went into the USB mass storage and installed gingerbread from ''NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).zip'' but there are only 3 files (BOOT, META-INF, SYSTEM) but i cant find anything to run? .... the phone is currently idling in maglrd and im getting rather worried about breaking it... PLEASE HELP
Don't open that zip file. Put the whole zip on your SD, start magldr, choose ad recovery, that will start cwm, in cwm choose install zip from SD - choose zip, that's it.

[Q] New to roms

Hi everyone!,
Im fairly new to this whole romming thing and i am looking to switch my HD2 over to a android build but i honestly dont know where to start. ive gone through lots of threads and topics but im still feeling a bit lost. im looking for something reliable for daily use (like mms, web browsing) and using androin market.
can anyone give me some guidance on what to look for?
I found the easiest fire-and-forget option was a froyo sense NAND rom... You can try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931126 if you want a reasonably stable rom for a 512mb HD2.
You will need to ensure you have the correct hspl (2.08 i think), radio (any xxx.50), and magldr (1.13 i think) installed before you can proceed.
Sometimes rom choice varies on if you have a 1024mb HD2 or a 512mb HD2.
p.s.
hspl: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
magldr: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893618
I'Ve triEd many roms and every time I go back to hyperdroid gbx v12 the fastest I ever tried (too bad no FM radio)... u need to know that the only difference is in the recovery partition ...in general the sense Roms use 400 mb recovery and the non sense roms use 150 mb ...evey ROM installation is explained but if u dont know how too we can guide u ...

Quick WP7 advice

Hey guys, I got a second hand HD2 from ebay, so far i;ve been using it with android running from the SD but now i'e decidedto give wp7 a try.
the device came with MAGLDR 11.13 & WP7 7.0.7004.0 pre installed. I'm not sure which actual ROM it is.
I;ve read all the guides on updating to a newer ROM from the dev section of this forum, but im worried about nricking the device.
when I plug my phone into the Zune application to sync music, it offers me an update. I tried this update but it failed, is there any way I can update easily through Zune? or do I need to reflash a ROm such as this one.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1157535
Also, in my current situation, is it as simple as downloading the ROM & running the EXE with the phone plugged in?
I wnt a later version formnumerous reasons, mainly the lackofmauto focus in the camera z- allphotos are blurry!
SOrry for being captian n00bing, im just startiong out with WP7!
Hi,
It's not possible to update your HD2 WP7 with Zune. It's only for official WP devices.
To flash new WP rom, I advice you to begin with a Task29 (clean the phone), flash radio (2.15.... recommended), flash MAGLDR 1.13, and flash the WP rom you want.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply mate.
Task29 clears the NAND if im correct, will that remove MAGLDR too? So I'll have to reflash MAGLDR 1.13?
Can anybody provide me with a n00by-friendly link to a guide on this? The phone came with MAGLDR 1.13 so i;ve no experience with WP7! I'm an Android man!
Could you also recommend a stable day-to-day ROM? I'm not bothered about Mango (unless theres a super-stable version) so anything NoDo would be fantastic.

in some cases task29 has created some issues with Wp on the HD2
just boot in to MAGLDR, go to USB flash, connect it to your PC and then run the exe from the ROM of your choice, i would strongly recomend staying with Yukis ROM, if you have issues with it then consider SD Card flashing a stock WM ROM and starting again. HSPL>RADIO>MAGLDR>WP7
The SD card is the problem, if you get one that works, you'll be fine, there is NO compatible list of SD card!

[Q] HTC HD2 Telstra help please

Hi Everyone.
This is my first post but i have been an enthusiastic reader for some time.
I know the answers to my problems are out there but im finding there is so much information im drowning and totally lost on what i need to do.
I want to put Android on my Telstra HTC HD2 T9193 via SD.
The SPl is 1.66
ROM = 1.72.841.0 WWE
RADIO = 2.07.51.22_2
Some sources say i need to go back a version before i can HSPL1, Some say i need to upgrade my radio, some say my telstra version is painful to change.
I believe the steps i need to take are:
1.Upgrade to the newest HTC Stock. But i cannot find a ROM to suit the Telstra phone.
2. So i need to use the HSPL method to change my radio?
3. Install HSPL4
4. Install the custom ROM
5. change the radio but i am unsure which one i get?
I think i have it mostly muddled up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Sej
assuming you want nand android
hspl4
choose 2.08.hspl
flash any radio with a x.xx.50.. version, higher than 2.07.50
flash magldr
flash cwm
flash android
Hi thanks.
I actually wanted to use the SD Roms.
Thanks

Flash HSPL4
Flash radio above 2.08.50 (I'd go 2.15.50)
Run your SD Android ROM.
in addition to what orangekid has posted, in case you're after the custom rom:
Flash HSPL4
Flash radio above 2.08.50 (I'd go 2.15.50)
Flash custom rom
->in my case, i'm using chuckyrom lite for my wm6.5. i noticed that flashing the radio to 2.15, keeping the t-mob stock rom and running an android sd rom caused a lot of lags. not to mention the famous sod (sleep of death).
Run your SD Android ROM.
-> i've been using mccm hd 4.5 and it's simply working great for me. do take note that there are tons of roms you can try. what you can do is try out each of them and determine which one works well for your unit. what may be working flawlessly for me or the other members could turn out to be a lemon for you. thus, try them out and you should be able to find the right rom for your device

This is sound advice Personally I prefer NRG for WinMo and ACA for Android
Hope you've made some progress here... I've been watching this space for more than a year and finally decided it was safe enough to make a move.
My HD2 has the standard ROM, I flashed several radios with varying degrees of success in terms of sensitivity, power consumption, telstra compatability. Settled on 2.15.50.14 for now. Testing continues.
Installed JaguarMIUI-V16.7 on a new class 6 4Gb MicroSD.
I have no luck formatting SDs (x2) for my HD2 (have to reseat sd after bootup to get the card recognised) and this one is screaming and stable without being formatted, just copy on the files into Android and Miui folders in the root of the card.
I have a boot loader installed but don't use it as the build is so stable it's not a problem to open file explorer in Windows, tap clrcad.exe then haret.exe the few time a reboot is required/desired.
Enjoy!
Hi Saj,
I had the same problem..
I found that you had to go backwards to go forward as Telstra Locked the ROM.
Basically i had to comb the web and find an older version of the Telstra ROM...
from there I had to use MAGLDR 1.13 to load the boot file
it did however wipe the WM6.5 completely off the phone.
I am now using a Port for ICS and i have never been happier
I will see if I can find the original post for this on the web and let you know

[Q] Question: Install NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.3 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3)

Guys,
This is my first post. I see already a thread about this ROM: NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.3 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3), but there are 501 pages in this thread. I have gone through some pages of these and have downloaded the ROM and clk_1.4.0.1_XXX.rar files based on different partitions, HD2 TookKit 4.2.0.1, Google Android drivers. Is there anything i need to download? I have been running the Windows Mobile 6.5 on my T-Mobile HD2 and would like to upgrade it to the above mentioned ROM. I would like to know if there are any step by step instructions in a PDF format that would explain me what needs to be done first , next , so-on. Any problems/issues that i need to be aware of. My software versions are Manila-25.20181424.0, ROM:3.14.531.1(04666) WWE, Radio Version-2.15.50.14. Any help would be appreciated.
Welcome to the land of penguin!
If this is your first Android ROM, here is some lecture for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
You may want to install HD2Toolkit, as it makes mentioned operations ~ten times quicker and simpler.
1. Please don't create multiple threads.
2. Please search before posting.
Having said that, this website by kylew1212 is brilliant if you want to use cLK, it tells you everything in detail. If you want MAGLDR on the other hand, this guide is the best I could find. The guide posted above is somewhat correct but it doesn't mention CWM and is therefore pretty much useless for all modern ROMs.
