[Q] Boot Animations - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I was wondering how one would create my own boot animation, I have my own splash screen (link in my signature), but I was wondering if the boot animation was just a GIF that has been converted or what? Any help would be appreciated.

You can open up a boot animation zip and see its a series of png images in order in a folder. There is a file that then dictates the speed of the animation and can also run multiple folders of images so that the first folder is run once and then the second folder is looped, etc. I'm sure if you created the series of images someone could help with the rest.

Ill have to take a look into that, thank you

How can I change the boot audio for Oxygen? I tried several things already, but I can't get the audio to work!
hey guys, im running rc7 also s-off but i have never been able to find the local folder... anytime i enter data/ its empty...
ive tried with different file managers but still empty.
any ideas?
not sure, but
I use cyanogenmod 7 rc2 (gingerbread) and had to put my bootanimation.zip to system/media/bootanimation.zip
Perhaps you've to put it there too, because the roms are very similar.
try it.

Alternate method to flash Boot Animation without PC
There is an alternate method to change the Boot Animation for HTC Desire without computer section for abd push.
1. Download Boot Animation Changer Lite, it needs Root.
2. Launch and Choose Change Animation
3. Select any Animation from the list and Install it
4. It'll backup the Stock animation in sdcard\bootanimStock folder as bootanimation.zip
5. Using any File Manager - Astro or Root replace the bootanimation.zip with the desired boot animation file (make sure you name the file as bootanimation.zip)
6. Relaunch the application
7. Choose Advance Settings
8. Select Restore Stock animation and reboot
9. You'd see your desired Boot Animation running
Cheers!!!
Good to know!

Can't change boot animatiom

So I put on this xbox boot animation a while back, and recently I wanted to change it to a nexus s animation. I tried a flashable one and the old animation was still there. Later I tried to do the manual one by Going into system/media. Didn't work. I do not know what to do. Would be nice if you could help.

If you're on a sense rom, it needs to be in /system/customize/resource, for aosp, /system/media. The flashable didn't work probably because it flashed to the other location.
Still will not let me delete the boot animation in system/customize/resource

You'll have to use root explorer, make sure you're mounted as r/w, or use adb to push the new file.
So I am using file expert. I made sure I checked the root permission box, and I try to delete the boot animation but it simply doesnt. It puts a status bar up for the deleting operation then closes.

Had to let the app linger around the su. It's working.

bootscreen only one picture

I download animated bootscreen, but when i want put just only one image (i wan't animation) i have only black screen...
how i can put that have just only one image without animation (optional r gif with animation without lot of images)?
The simplest way is you should use absolute system root tool app from market. It have a large number of animations out there. And options to change it.

Boot Animations

I am trying to change the boot animation on my S4 but it seems that Samsung devices use a different file for the boot animation rather than bootanimation.zip. Can anybody help me changing it to Jellybean's standard booting animation?

whit a root explorer go to system/media changMount as R/W and paste there a bootanimation.zip file reboot and done.. ( phone will read the zip file first when it boot ).
Or go Here and flash it through recovery
Doesn't work. It seem that this phone (or ROM) is reading from a "bootsamsung.qmg". I don't know this format so better ask first before doing anything.

Check in the themes&apps section, there was a thread dedicated to that.
Also, if you are interest in making .qmg files, you are free to make one with Samsung Themer (or something, I forgot the name xD)
