My Tattoo is rooted, nfinity 0.93, Gingerbread 2.3
I used app Remote Desktop to connect laptop keyboard to Tattoo.
But I am told I need the Tattoo to tether / hotspot function first.
Can the Tattoo tether / hotspot? Which app can I use?

You can use android-wifi-tether. Download it from market or get it from http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether
It work very nicely here.
Or use Wireless Tether.
Is free from App Market!

yes, I tried that earlier and got an unsuccessful installation error, I'm not a big fan of facebook so I'm not bothered by it.
Yeah, i got an update, and everytime i tried to install it just kept saying. "Need to manual install" I use it occasionally, but i just said screw it, still working fine to me.. i'll check my ver.
Edit: I have ver. 1.2. I'll try to update again. I'm using what's stated in my sig.
Hello,
the update worked well for me on mattec RC1.4, so it doesn't seem to be a general problem.

Ok, got a fix. Seems to be a problem with darkstones froyo. I use Astro, but whatever file explorer you use, go to the root of the SD card and go to system/app and find facebook.apk or something like that, and delete it, reboot. and viola install from market ver. 1.3.
i got an auto update of FB. I can use it fine but can't send any "messages" only update status which is odd.
but then again i can't connect over 3G to many things yet I can get twitter and FB status updates automatically. Incoming traffic is fine, outgoing is screwed
any ideas?

But looks like notification still doesn't work? I want to be notified when i'm away from the FB app.
I just got this
http://android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com/files/wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre7.apk
works in AP mode with encryption, i'm running pmf v2.1 (rom version, not android version) and everything is good. Thanks a ton to the devs, sorry if this was posted already but i haven't seen it. So i figured I would give people an update...
Installing now, I don't even see this posted on their site for download though (even though it's clearly coming from their site), how odd
edit: does this still require fw_bcm4329.bin in the android.tether folder?

Where did you try to put a 7?
So the folder android.tether still has to be there? Ugh! I thought I read some where that once you go to 2.2, you no longer need that folder..Now I need to find that file again and reinstall it..
Okay, which version of Wireless tether.apk is working for 2.2(froyo)?

The APK he linked works fine. Copy the fw_bcm4329_apsta.bin file in the /system/etc/firmware folder into the /sdcard/android.tether folder, and rename it to fw_bcm4329.bin. Then install the linked APK, tether to your heart's content, confirmed to be working broadcasting in AP mode and works perfectly

Same here, if there is support for this in the kernel (for example any of Hydra's Kernels should work), then this file is not required.

thats because the Incredible doesn't allow anything Apple to connect to it, it is against their code lol
On a real note, my friend came over yesterday and he had his blackberry and iphone connected. What rom are you running?
I don't know about iPhone except that my friend with an iPhone could connect to me fine. However, some blackberries can't connect to an Adhoc network and I came through as Adhoc instead of wifi so it wouldn't connect. ON another note I showed on the same friend with an iPhone on her laptop as 802.11b/g/n I was the fastest option she had in our office.
Probably a newbie question. How do I prevent ads from games/apps showing up. It can get quite annoying.

Or you could just leave that "annoyance" and each time you get annoyed, remember that this is the reason you're getting stuff FOR FREE, and this is your way to support the developers. And if you don't like the ads - PAY.

Just downloaded a small OTA update (5.16mb) for my Galaxy TAb 10.1 4G model GT-P7500M.
The description of the update was "Resolves connectivity issues with Kies", the update didn't wipe my data and didn't remove ROOT access.
New firmware version is P7500MUGKH6.
Android version is still 3.1 and kernel still 2.6.36.3

Use Market Enabler, Market Access or Root Toolbox. I prefer MArket Enabler with Donate Key as it gives the option to set it on boot.
Don't mean to threadjack, but I'm just wondering which root mod you used on your tab? I've got a Bell GT-P7500M as well and I'm thinking I need the 4G one, however it seems as though the 4G one is made for Verizon units only.
Thanks,

Hello,
although my hd2 is rooted (in terminal emulator I am typing su and i get the # sign) and I use market enabler (verizon or t-mobile us) I cannot access certain apps. For example google plus
Any ideas of whats going wrong? I am running the latest Hyperdroid ROM
What is that market says? Or simply u can't find search results?
If u can't find it, use app Caledonia root toolbox, which have options to enable various network provider apks.
If it says app is incompatible try changing LCD density to 240,
