So im running RG 1.4.1,so I had 3.0.0.6 on clockwork & was fine until I flashed the file to charge while the phone was off, everything was all good but it went back to 3.0.0.5.... So when I flash the zip for 3.0.0.6,it says its installed but all I see in recovery is 3.0.0.5 when I used to have 3.0.0.6.....i flash & flash bit in never sticks..... Anyone can help me?
How are you flashing it? If whatever method you're using doesn't work, I would load the engineering SPL and use fastboot to flash it. 100% reliable that way.
Im not too comfortable with fastboot, but ill try if I can get a easier guide....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996
Give that a look. It seems pretty straight-forward.
i already have the eng 0.85.2007 or sum # like that,im true perm rooted,i had 3.0.0.6 already but since I flashed that new zip,3.0.0.6 wont stick again at all...is there a way I can take out that zip I flashed to charge with phone off....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014554
That's a mod of the original 3.0.0.6 that stays off with the phone charging. Since you have the engineering SPL (be sure, it can't be "sum number", it has to be 0.85.2007, not 0.86.000), I would still flash it with fastboot since it is so much safer. It's only one command.
My fault I just didnt knw the # off the top of my head but yeah it is 0.85.2007..... Well I got it wrkin now for some reason the file duplicated itself... I went to astro-sdcard-clockworkmod-download & had 2 mirror.kanged.net files,i just deleted the 1 that read mirror1.kanged.net & now I see 3.0.0.6..... Thanks for all yall input...
Glad you got it figured out.

I updated my radio a while back to 2.41.05.02.03 and it isn't doing too bad but I wanted to go back to the stock radio and I have tried and tried, but no matter what I do my radio won't change. Did I miss something here? I did a search for "radio" here and haven't come up with anything. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Someone must have some ideas or knowledge about this. This is really driving me nuts.
I have flashed both the newer radios and ended up going back to the stocker for now. Flashed through recovery and never had an issue.
Are you flashing the radio you want through recovery? Is it working at first and then reverting? Details always help when troubleshooting.

If what you mean by "recovery" is by holding down the home and power key and going into the flash by using a zip file then yes. After my radio completely flashes and the phone reboots it still shows the radio I had before I flashed the new radio. For some reason my radio will never show anything other than 2.41.04.02.02, 2.41.04.02.03-2.1, or 2.42.00.03.10
If I flash any other radio than one of the above it will say it is successful but still show one of the above radios. It never shows the radio that was just flashed even though it says it is successful.
I'd try re-downloading and flashing the 2.32 radio or the 1.04 radio from here.
I'm assuming you are using the Amon-Ra 1.62 recovery or one of the OC recoveries...if not, flash that first.
Save the radio.zip on your sdcard
Boot into recovery (Home + Power button)
Select flash from zip
Choose your radio
After it successfully completes choose reboot now
You may automatically reboot back into recovery after this step finishes, select reboot now again.
Do this and report back what radio version you have on reboot.

That might be part of the problem...I am running Heroc 1.52 recovery. Would that make a difference? Where can I find Amon-Ra 1.62, and what steps other than flashing this would need to be taken?
Thank you.
I found the Amon-Ra 1.62 and have it downloaded to my desktop...just not sure exactley what to do as I don't want to mess my phone up...any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks again
I put the Amon-Ra 1.62 recovery image on my sd card, but when I boot into recovery it still shows RA-heroc-v1.5.2
I must be missing a step or something. I am still rather new at the Android phones and operating system.
To flash the 1.6.2 recovery put it on your sdcard (not in a folder). Then use these commands:
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /sdcard/
flash_image recovery recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img
or
Code:
adb remount
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img

That worked to get the 1.6.2 recovery on my phone but after flashing 1.04.01.09.21-1.5 my phone is still showing 2.41.05.02.03 for the baseband. What in the heck is going on???
Surely there has to be someone else out there that is having the same issue...
Yes, I am having the identical issue, I can flash to every radio except for the stock. It goes thru the process and then I go to check it and it si still on the previus radio. Could it be the Stock verision from Flipz, are there any othere stock zips out there? There has got to be a way to correct this!

Could it be possible that you have both radios on your sd card and are still flashing the wrong one?
Im on the stock 1.5 radio and all was good until last night. I keep loosing my signal, battery life is worse and i keep getting stuck in 1x mode...any ideas guys? Im about to call sprint tech support.
I really hope my phone isn't screwed, that would be my 4th replacement. If i get another phone ill think im gonna ask for an evo.
Well forget sprint, they tell me if my 3rd phone is defective that im SOL because they only allow 3 replacements per year. So where does that leave me if the phone is broke and not by my cause? What the hell do i pay insurance for then?

That's a lie. If you have to send the phone back 3x they will replace it with somethign else. You got yourself an egghead, i'm afraid.
Hello all,
Here's what happened - I DL'd the app 'ROM Manager' from the Android Market, installed and allowed this app to be the recovery for my MT3g (non-Fender and non-headphone jack version).
Suffice it to say that the ROM Manager app jacked up my phone... none of their items worked for me. I uninstalled the ROM Manager and now when I tried to go to recovery mode (power + Home) I get nothing but stuck on the MT splash screen
My phone is rooted, originally ran the recovery-RA-dream-v1.6.2 recovery and am currently running a 2.1 ROM.
I have tried to redo the flashrec-1.1.3x and this does not work.
Where do I go from here? I'd like to be able to partition my new 8GB SD card and I can't even do that...
Thanks in advance.
If your phone is rooted, can't you just flash the previous working recovery via fastboot again?

You should be able to put the recovery image on your sd card and use the flash_image command from the terminal right? thats what i did

Just to let you know, it is possible to root a mytouch without ever having installed an SPL that allows flashing though fastboot. I know from personal experience that the one-click flashrec method does this

I know, thats what I did as well.
But since then, till the date I changed to an engineering SPL, im pretty sure I have always done the subsequent changes to my recovery and spl using fastboot, even after starting with the 0010 SPL (which was at the time a problem SPL) and using flashrec to change the recovery before installing my first non stock rom, being cyanogen 4.x.x, still with the 0010 SPL.
I do know that it only became necessary for me to change my SPL when I wanted to try new radio ROMs (subsequently moved back, and took the chance to move to the 2010 engineering SPL) Before that I was actually too scared to change the SPL because of the brick threats.
I used the cursorsense rom thread instructions on how to change the radio and spl, and it worked great.
Maybe, so far, I have been lucky not to brick my phone. But I have always followed well documented threads on the dev section and so far so good, not excluding one or two times when I thought I had made a nice brick, but just persevered.
Fastboot is your friend, and so is XDA if you are nice to it and the good people who frequent it.
If you look through the threads, and in the development section, there are alot of areas where they give the commands necessary for a variety of actions, and peoples responses on whether it works.
I don't yet believe in the programs created to do everything for you, nothing against the devs, who are all great, just not quite happy enough with comments posted to try them out yet.
(I think my response was little longer than needed) ;-)
Thanks for the info guys...
Problem was I could not boot into fast boot - the recovery was not there.
What I ended up doing was unrooting then rerooting my phone, reloaded my ROM and went on from there...
That might have been the long way of doing things but it all worked out well.
So i went ahead and downloaded the files and rooted the phone, then i went and did the clockwork recovery like an idiot. I downloaded the RUU for it from here and it states it cannot find the phone. Is there a special mode i have to put it into? Can someone give me a little insight here. Thanks
WHAT?
can't understand a thing of what you wrote!
Please more info...
Sorry let me clarify
I went ahead and rooted using the androot program.
After rooting i downloaded rom manager so i could make a nandroid backup.
Now i realized i flashed clockwork recovery onto the phone.
I downloaded the t-mobile official RUU installer and tried to run it. When i connect the phone it is seen but the program cannot see the phone to flash it back to bone stock without the recovery.
Does anyone know how i can flash the bone stock rom and everything else so its like i just removed it from the package.
I hope this clears everything up. Sorry
ok...
The recovery IS NOT the problem...
It's a driver thing...
Delete the drivers on the system, and install the latest htc sync...
It will come with the leatest drivers...
BUT WHY?
why do you want to do the ruu??
Are you not happy with root?
If it's the wronge recovery, you dont need the ruu..
you can just flash a new recovery!!???
WHY?
To be completely honest i love having a rooted phone. I have a rooted vibrant.
I just really dont know what im doing at this point. I already bricked one mytouch and am afraid im going to do something wrong and brick it again. I really just want the RUU to work in case something happens and i have to send it back. If they go into fastboot they are going to know i did something.
Trust me i would love to put amon ra's recovery on it but i have no idea how and cant understand how to do it. I feel lost when it comes to android phones.
I want to put froyo on here but i should wait for the official update.
That is another thing will the rooted phones still take the OTA for the updates when they come out even if rooted.
Sorry if this is a lot of questions, but im just scared to do anything now since i failed the first time around. thanks
OK... i'll help you all the way...
Write here what ruu did you use...
THE FULL name...
Then i'll send you what you need for your device to return to stock condition :0)
After you see that your phone can go back to stock condition we can work our way back to world of root :0)
It's very easy once you use the right img's....
I used this link since im at work, the file is at home.
39) [xda-ftp] [4shared] 2.10.531.4 T-Mobile USA DRD35
Its out of this thread
[ROM] Official HTC Sapphire/Magic/MT3G RUU ROM Links
The link for that specific thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403
The drivers i downloaded for win 7 64 i just googled and installed. If there is another driver pack i should get ill try that htc sync when i get home.
I really appriciate the help.
OK... use this link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/413792527/2.10.531.4_T-Mobile_USA_DRD35_ROM.rar.html
I divided the img's into 2 folders...
System = the android system... flashing those will give you stock android on your phone.
Hardware = the stock spl, radio and recovery.
If you only want the system, flash the system using the radioSwitcher tool in my signature... use the custom boot/system/userdata box....
If you ever have to return your phone for repair or just want to be back at stock(complete reset):
Flash all 6 files.... again using the tool..
For the hardware part use the "custom spl/radio/recovery" box...
The only problem is the spl has nb0 extension... so you have to use the fastboot and a cmd promt on windows... type:
fastboot flash hboot hboot_7201A_1.33.0013G_091021.nb0
or you could rename the file to hboot_7201A_1.33.0013G_091021.img and use the tool for all files... but i have never tested the renaming approach!
Good luck!
Ok i got all the files and the radio tool.
I put things where they need to be and just wanted to flash recovery.
When i click flash it fails every time. I cannot find drivers for this thing anywhere. Can i get help on this please. thanks
are you in fastboot?
try "check connection" before flash. What does it say?
Do you have eng spl?
You need to do your homework before doing such a thing like flashing...
I'll help you if you do your homework :0)
here is what i get when connected
Radio version: 2.22.23.02.
SPL/hboot version: 1.33.0013.
product: sapphire.
mid: sapp31000.
security: on.
build-mode: ship.

It states that im not rooted when i used the androot program and have superuser permission on the device. Now i am completely confused.
How do i just go about using the RUU and forgetting about rooting? I plug it in and click to start the process and it says it cannot find the phone.
Is there a special mode i have to put the phone into to use this tool?
It's a mistake from the tool...
When it sayed that you dont have root, it meant you dont have eng spl...
I'm going to change that in the tool in the next version....
here is something i wrote to somebody else...
Read it and use the info which could help your case..
But here is the headline: Flash spl(1.33.2010) using recovery, then flash system files using tool, then flash stock spl using fastboot or rename stock spl to hboot.img and flash using tool!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=753972
Good luck...
PS: read the entire thread... the info is spread!
What if i would skip the tool all together and use the fastboot commands to flash the files you sent me in that rar file?
If i just do the recovery i will lose hboot and fastboot correct?
I am so scared to do this. Sorry im a complete noob at this.
Also what is a sapping file? I can make a goldcard no problem and make it work.
Thanks for answering everything since i have not done anything to it what so ever yet.
You cant use fastboot because the spl (which controls the fastboot) will not allow you do that... it's called a perfected spl because HTC has closed all possibilities for you to flash anything.
That why we use the custom recovery. With a normale recovery we cant do **** either. But custom recovery gives the tools and permissions to do what ever we want.
Thats why i wrote that flash a different spl using recovery, then use the tool or fastboot to flash the rest...
The tool is safer, belive me... we have over 300 or so downloads with no error reports :0)
But if you are comfitable with fastboot, by all means do it there :0)
Just make sure that spl and radio can play together....
When you are done playing with eng spl (eng = engineer spl, leaked from HTC), flash custom spl back again... before you boot your system, or the system will have many disadvanteges.. the eng spl it not made for your device, but it works just fine... just dont load the system with :0)
Whenever you want to play with fastboot again, flash a eng spl from recovery and you game again....
So read my instructions carefully before doing anything...
Read more info around this forum...
When you are ready, do the things i told you!!!!
I can't help you anymore... The rest is up to you...
If you get into problems, please report back...
All the info is here and on the other thread i linked to before... GOOD LUCK

sappimg is complete image of a system with non-pefected spl or custom recovery... you lose everything with a sappimg...
The goldcard is needed because you need to "fool" the device to accept the sappimg even if it is not meant for your device!
But you allready have custom recovery... no goldcard needed!
I am so confused. I'm so sorry

i managed to fix it by recreating a goldcard, and running the tmobile ruu
Hi all, thanks in advance for any help and my apologies if this exact problem has already been resolved. I searched through this forum and found issues *similar* to my problem but nothing exact enough for me to find a solution.
My experience with Android is limited but have quite a bit of terminal UNIX experience...so I'm not a total noob and I can follow directions pretty well.
I purchased a MT3G from someone and everything seemed to be in order when I checked it out (and the price was good, so I figured I didn't have much to lose). He was running Cyanogen Mod on there but of course I wanted to restore to factory settings and build it up from scratch on my own. Thinking that I knew what I was doing, I booted into Recovery (Home/End key simultaneously) with no issues and ran the factory reset utility, thinking that this would just drop the phone back to factory settings and I could re-root it from there. When I turn the phone back on, it just hangs at the "splash" screen and runs the animation over and over again.
I can still boot into Recovery and I can get into Fast Boot so I hope I am not bricked.
Here is the output I get from Fast Boot (attached file).
I tried to restore with a SAPPIMG.zip that I found but it said wrong device...
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

If you get an error, you need to download an engineering spl, and then try. (Engineering 2010 SPL)
The link and instructions are around somewhere on XDA.
Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately I already tried that and it didn't work, so I guess I'll install the Engineering SPL when I get home.
Shouldn't I in theory just be able to flash another ROM over this one and have everything be back to normal?

Yes sir, that is the easy way!
there are plenty of 1.6, and 2.2 roms out there.
Just download to sdcard, boot into recovery, wipe and flash
Don't flash any SPLs. Your fine as long as you've got a custom recovery. Just flash another ROM from there and make sure you wipe data, dalvik-cache, and cache before flashing. I've been running CyanogenMod 5.0.8 since the summer (CM6 ran like crap) and I've been happy with it so far.

It works great, but now in order to get 2.2, I have to root it again which is a royal pain because I don't have a microSD reader and based on my research, the only way to root it it to make a goldcard!
Doh well! Learn something new everyday!

Not true you can root using the this app then use rom manager to install clockwork mod recovery. This is how I helped my friend root his device.

Hi, after hours of researching to find the problem, i cant find it so as my last resort i will ask the mighty forums if there is anything they can do about it.
The problem is that its stuck in a boot loop, i can get in to bootloader and Hboot.
When i press to go in to recovery its just goes to the HTC logo and stays there.
When i try to do a factory reset same thing happened.
Anyway, the facts.
Its a DHD it used to have leedroid latest as rom, atm i have no idea it is supposed to be 1.32 stock rom for rooting and RADIO-26.14.04.28_M, kernel was also leedroid recommended but i guess that also is 1.32 stock.
It was ENG S-OFF but then i tried some PD98IMG and it changed to SHIP S-OFF
Things that i have tried.
Tried different PD98IMG to get the recovery working but nothing same thing happened there.
Tried patched/flashed the recovery part only with no luck.
Tried to get into recovery through pulling the battery inserting the usb and then inserting the battery again, no luck.
The odd thing is when i try to charge the phone and the led goes orange and when i pull the usb out it stays orange, it should turn off.
I suppose i ****ed something over but i have no clue of what that is?!?
Help would be most appreciated
I'm suggesting everyone to give this method a try although i have no experience with it but since it can be used to recover using computer i believe recovery isn't necessary here so that you can recover the firmware using the PC.
Hope this helps

Done and failed, same problem no difference what so ever.
SHIP S-OFF is OK!! U got it m8!
If you want to use your own Image do it within this way:
1. Flash this: http://www.multiupload.com/FKJ8B7Q0QM
and after this:
2. Flash this: http://www.multiupload.com/AURLLESU5V
And enjoy it! I don't know why the PD98IMG is not working on your device so I recomend to flash the RUU. Within the RUU you will also get the latest firmware for phone and wifi and so on. It's not a need, it's a must!
The 2nd ROM is same as above but it's ROOTED and contains the 4ext Recovery which will give you the option to flash whatever you want.
BUT!!! This ROM's are ORIGINAL. If you want to use a CUSTOM ROM I would recomend you will format your device by the 4ext Recovery or you are using the FULL WIPE 1.5.
Regards!
Sorry for the insane delay.
That did not work either, anyone else have any idea what to do, installing through PD98IMG.zip files seams not to work, will at this point do anything.
I'am a student so buying a new one is out of the question.
I tend to have to see things to understand them more. Maybe other people are similar. Is it possible you can video the process, put it on YouTube and some of the experts here can see it and talk you through it?

when you flashed PD98IMG.zip does it give you a cid error?. If this is the error then a gold card needs to be made for your device first, then you flash the RUU.
Back again.
No CID error, its skips something called TP when i try to flash it.
I can use any simcard, its an unbranded phone i believe.
And also if it is to any help, when i plug my charger in the phone and then back out again, the little orange led keeps emitting light, as if it stills charging.
My English is not very good.
I want to know what did you do for it before its stuck in a boot loop?
You can get into HBOOT and connect the phone to the computer, then try to run RUU.Before you do this, make sure you have make golden card.
Try another pd zip..i came across a few corrupt ones, the answers in this site somewhere alterbatively google the sentence you want the answer to..or the key words,if the systems still working theres a 98% chance youll get it going boot loops from what i see are just a file or something causing chaos..once its gone voila.
Good luck

Enter hboot and paste exactly what it says in there.
SHIP AND ENG don't matter as long as it's S-OFF. If you can't access recovery and if you're unable for some reason to flash a PDimg, download AAHK and use it to unroot. That will hopefully get you into the stock ROM and S-ON of course.
Use AAHK again to root. You will still have access to your stock ROM.
Now here's the tricky part. If the phone won't boot at all that probably means there's nothing to boot at all. Happened to me a lot of times. If you can still get into hboot then don't panic. See if AAHK will help you out.
