Need Stock Droid X Recovery - Droid X General

So I have been looking around and doing quite a bit of research but have found very little help. I currently have the clockworkmod recovery installed on my droid x and I want to flash it back to the stock recovery. I have read that other people and other phones are able to flash back an .img file and get it back to stock. Any help?

You still have stock recovery. I believe if touch hold power+home to boot you will get into it

OK so I take it the Droid x is different than the HTC phones? Because right now I am not ready to make any changes but i was just working on my girlfriends incredible and I can't seem to get clockworkmod recovery to uninstall and the stock recovery to install. I just assumed that it was the same for the Droid x. Now that you mention it it makes sense. Is it because of the encrypted bootloader, that doesn't allow the recovery to be changed?

Yes that is correct. When we use the bootstrap method, it hijacks the boot process. It does not remove any files.

I love the droid x, technology is awesome.

I posted this in the other thread as well. I created a zip that you can flash from clockwork.
1. download to somewhere on sdcard
2. boot into clockwork
3. make a backup
4. install zip from sdcard, etc.

Anyone have any idea why my Clockwork Bootstrap is not working?
I'm on the leaked rooted GB, trying to bootstrap recovery to install CRT animation.
I know my root works because I've used root explorer just fine.
I load up Koush's Bootstrap Recovery, Bootstrap, get the Success message (first time I ran it I approved Superuser permissions), I then Reboot Recovery.
Upon reboot, I get the red Motorola logo followed by nothing but a blank screen. It requires a battery pull at this point, upon which it then just boots normal afterward.
I've rinsed and repeated several times and I've uninstalled and reinstalled Koush's Bootstrap as well....same issue.

Free? Is this sanctioned by Koush, or did someone just illegally post a pirated apk up without the author's permission? I'm all about free stuff, but I'm not looking to rip anyone off.

Koush gave away both apks free on his website, but the links are broken now.

[Q] Which Recovery to use?

Hey all, this is my first time rooting a moto phone, I'm used to HTC and working w/CWMod and most recently Team Win Recovery.
Anyway, I just want to make sure that I'm going to do it right when it comes to putting a recovery s/ware on the phone - if I understand correctly I need the Bootstrap App (2.99 in market) for the Droid 2 ?
Now, if I have that do I need CWMod as well, or is the bootstrap it's own recovery app? that's where I'm a bit confused. I installed CWMod, but haven't done anything w/it yet.
I like doing everything via recovery and NOT via an app on the phone, so what I'd like to is a nice recovery app, where I can reboot into recovery, run nandroid backups and flash ROMs (if he lets me lol).
Help appreciated.

Everything makes sense to me except #5. Maybe it will make more sense once I install the app?
I didn't use SuperOneClick, I used Psouza's Motorola Root Tools v 1.7 - worked awesome, I guess it is a 'superoneclick' type of s/ware, just not sure if it's THE s/ware you speak of - either way, same result
Will install the BootStrap later tonight after work and go from there. Are you running a custom ROM on your Pro? I've been so spoiled w/the HTC development, trying to find something for the Pro is like a needle in a haystack, lol
Thank you
is there a cwm for different devices or has the cwm to be modificated for every device? And exist somewhere a Forum or Website to watch the cwm progression with download options?

Boostrap recovery is old. You need to flash the sbf and install 2ndinit recovery instead. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559109

[Q] Can't get into clockworkmod recovery to install custom roms

hello all, I am a noob when it comes to modding my smartphone however I am somewhat tech savvy. I have a problem getting cyanogenmod 7.2.0 to install on my rooted milestone x. I have been told that a milestone x is just another droid x port. I have already rooted my phone with super one click 2.3.3.0. I have backed up my phone with Titanium Backup Premium and installed ROM Manager Premium. I followed the instructions on various webpages but I get an error when trying to install the mod. The error is:
- Install from sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifying update package ..
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Now here is my specs:
Model - milestone x
system version - 4.5.604.MB809.ACG-nTelos.en.US
Android Version - 2.3.5
Kernel version - 2.6.32.9-geadffa3
[email protected] #1
Build Number - 4.5.1_57_MX2-34
Now I will tell you I was trying to flash the rom in the stock recovery because I didn't realize until later that it wasn't in clockworkmod recovery. Herein lies the problem, I can't get into CWM recovery no matter what I've tried on the net searching for answers. I have downloaded droid 2 bootstrapper as well. I can't find a working link to droid x bootstrapper. Am I just stuck with my stock X or is there hope?
official cm7 has a kernel check, use a version with kernel check removed
but your log post did not show that
dx bootstrap only worked with 2.2 froyo
there is a modified dx bootstrap you should use
link in my
[HOW TO] Install/Use Droid 2 Bootstrap
if install still fails. post rom's full file name
stuck at red M logo

now i seem to be stuck at a red M logo after opening droid 2 bootstrapper, click on bootstrap recovery, click on ok at the success prompt, click on reboot recovery. only way to move past this is to pull the battery then it will reboot no problem into stock 2.3.5. if i hold power and hard home key it will go into stock recovery every time but still no CWM recovery. I have no idea why this is everyone else seems to have no problem getting into CWM.
I don't remember anything special, needed for the MX
which D2 Bootstrap, the one from market?
I would remove bootstrap app from menu>settings>applications>Manage applications>Droid 2 bootstrap tap force stop then uninstall
using a file manager/root browser with root access go to
/preinstall/recovery select recovery.zip rename recovery.zip.bak
then install the Modified Droid 2/X Bootstrapper, or Droid 3 Recovery Bootstrap

Dead Droid when flashing ROM

Hello, I have a rooted ZF5 T00J currently on 5.0 (3.24.40.78) and always get the dead droid when I try to flash a ROM. I updated to L from KK because I was also unable to access recovery (it always gave me the dead droid).
Is there any way to make my phone completely stock again, or any workaround from this, for me to flash a custom ROM?
Thanks

Reboot bootloader, go to recovery, if you are in stock rom, rebooting to recovery from bootloader will get you dead droid. Now in the dead droid recovery press volume up button and power button at the same time then you will have access to stock recovery
