PLS HELP! Android crashed down after one month od EXCELENT use???!!! - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello,
sorry it there is already thread, in that case, pls give me the links..
SO, after using Android on HD2 for one month WITHOUT any problems.. today i got:
activity phone in process com.android.phone is not respondind
Also, after restart, on first call i got robot voice... second call i cant hear anything..
SO, WTF happened?
I did not install any aps, or uninstal... i just dont get it!
Thnx

Have you tried reinstalling the Rom to see if the problem is still there?

yes.. i deleted old android folder, and instaled it again, same thing.. my win mob 6.5 works fine..
Dont know what could happened..

When the message comes up, did you ever press wait? This happened me once and I just pressed wait and after about 1 - 2 minutes it comes on and works fine for the rest of the time I use it. If that doesn't help, then I guess you just have to install a new build.

ok, will try.
thnx

And it happened... also couple days ago it also hapened, but afret half hour everything was ok...
Every time (first, last, and now third) i:
- restarted android
- restarted launcher
- make couple calls with win mobile (aok there...)
- boot to win, make call, restart again boot win.. unmount sd, restart with sd in, and then booted android again
- pressed wait wher error popout
- turned sync and apn off
And this time, cant solve the problem....
Pls, wtf?! And I can't find topic here.....

SD builds for me have always ran great for some amount of time, then start messing up out of nowhere. What happens, as I understand it, is that blocks of memory in your sd card become corrupted after awhile of running Android from the card.
Best thing you can do to cope with this set of circumstances is:
1. Back up the contents of your sd card to your comp, and do a full format on the card before installing an SD build. This will reduce the frequency of corruption problems.
2. Once you get your build set up how you like it, back up your entire Android folder onto your comp. Do this once a week or so, and you can delete the old folders after each new backup to conserve space. Then if you encounter sd/data corruption again, you can backup and format your card, and drop your content and backed up Android folder back on it and be up and running again with minimal loss.
3. Forget Windows Mobile and sd builds and go NAND. It's more stable in the long term, and uses less battery because it isn't constantly reading from and writing to the sd card. Plus NAND is the manly thing to do, sd builds are for girlymen

Android Problems

Alright, I'm about ready to pull my hair out. I have tried multiple custom roms, extracted the Android roms to /sdcard/Android and to just /sdcard, used SD formatter to re-format SD card. Tried 2GB, 8GB and the stock 16GB card and I can't get Android to boot. I get the text scrolling, then it just stops and hangs and the last line is "usb: product_id=0xff9
I'm beginning to wonder if I have a flaky handset since battery life on WinMO is horrid even with a new battery. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I haven't been able to find any posts stating the same problems I'm having.
I have had that problem with most of the builds of android I have tried. It will boot up one time then never boot again unless I remove android completely and drop it fresh back on the device. I also tried all the things you did and it wouldn't work still. I gave up android. I didnt really care for it anyway, was really only wanting it for a couple of apps but couldnt deal with the frustration.
It would be different if I was able to get Android to run even once.

We could help you figure out your problem if you post your radio, rom, build etc...
PROBLEM SOLVED
flash a 2.13 ROM flash the 2.12 RADIO
format you're SD CARD, select the highest allocation size, remove the "quick format" check mark (it should take like 40 mins to format)
download the 2.1Darkstone Android and place it in the ROOT of your SD card
start ANDROID and give it like 20 mins at the most and it should boot up just fine.
THIS had been answer at least 4 times already, search better next time.
IF YOU HAVE TRY'DE THIS EXACT SAME INST and you still can't boot up, PM.

Second boot fail

I have this problem every time i turn of my phone or restart it, no matter what Android version is on it.
All Android versions boot without problem for the first time, It took me about 10minutes or so, I set up everything, spend hours on it and than if i want to switch back to WM, I can forget about it. Just can't boot Android for the second time, it gets to the black-screen-green-htc and go on like this forever.
I though it may be in SD card (I had 2Gb), so i bough new one few days ago (4Gb). I installed MDJ Froyo and it worked fine until I decided to restart phone in order to switch back to WM. Again, Android can't boot...
To get it working, I have to delete all android files, copy new one and start again for the first time...
This is really frustrating, and I can't keep my phone running forever without shutting down or restarting so does anyone have any solution for this problem?
Thank you,
Mario
EIDT: I tried every possible solution in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854182 and nothing works
It happens sometimes, when it happens to me I just take out the battery and reboot and it starts normaly.
Secondly is you android folder on the root of you sd?
SD/ANDOID
Aren't you suppose to copy files from Android folder to SDcard root folder, so that HARET AND CLRCAD are on root folder, not like SD/Android/Haret.exe?
no the android folder has to be on the root of the SD
so it looks like SD\ANDROID (and in android haret...)
I have the same problem. I have tried different droid versions, and they work the first time, but if I restart the phone, I have to delete the droid rom and reinstall it again because it stays on the HTC screen for hours. I have it on the root of sd card.
What has worked for me a few times is instead of using the bootloader I go to explorer and manually click on haret......usually works.. and also check your startup.txt to make sure it points to the root folder Android while using the bootloader.
Increase the SD card size to 8 GB
Try increasing your SD card size to 8 GB, I am using 8 GB and it works well.

Both MAGLDR and SD dont work, help?

Hi,
I used to have android on my HTC HD 2 but it suddenly after a few months wouldnt work anymore. So I decided to format the sd card and try a new build so I tried to use a build with MAGLDR which in the end seemed to work, but when I shut down the phone and turned it on again I had to run through setup and everything again, and I again was lost my text messages which I received before I turned it off.
I also tried a build with the SD card method, and when I launch this by tapping haret it shows a few white lines in a black window, afterwards you get HTC home screen and then it shuts down automatically.
I believe I had for both of the builds the good radio and HSPL version,
can somebody please help me, because windows freaks me out.
Cheers Caspar
Try to delete the partition on your sd. Receate one and format it (no fast format)

You can try Task29. It worked great for me

[Q] Last Try ! I'm sick and tired...

I've got a HD2 just to try wp7. After some careful reading manages to install, and it was booting and used the basic features for couple of hours without any issues, until i wanted to try out maps,,,, The HD2 got stuck and went to a boot loop.
After checking so much for the one and a half day (I'm so tired and sleepy) i'm sick of this phone. I ve seen many posts regarding this issue, but no one seem to post a clear answer that rectifies the issue. Yes i've tried task 29 and gone back to wm 6.5 as well. Anything else i'm missing here.
If i keep the battery off for about 10 mins or so then it boots up properly, but not all the time. I cannot use any most of the features, only texting and calling. If anything else is launched (IE, People, A/C config...) goes back to the boot loop. WTF
Pls guys help me. well i'm a complete nOOb for this and sorry for the long post.
I am by no means an expert here, but have you tried a different SD card? When I first flashed my HD2, when WP7 was first available for it, my SD card was incompatible and it was constantly rebooting. Some SD cards are incompatible with WP7, even the ones that originally shipped with the HD2.
I know how you feel... that's exactly what happened to me. OMCA1A's right, Try a new SD Card and you should be good to go.
Which method you use ? Zune or 1 shot install
Did you have wp7 on hd2 before trying to install This rom? Was the sd card working?
Did you unlock/ reformat sd card or install straight over?
as already mentioned it can be the SD card and is most likely the SD card in your case, how you install it, cabs or zune or whatever doesnt make the slightest difference, anyone using any card that is not certified to work with WP7 stands the risk of running in to the restart issue.
it might not happen today, it might not be next month or even year, but potentially the restart issue can rear its head when xx% of storage space free is hit
i say xx because it could be anything from 1 -100.
Peronally i find that dumping a few hundred meg of music on gets past these dodgy areas, like just now, if i remove 12MB of data from my device it will start restarting, i can replicate this, if i do a reflash i have to install at least 200MB of music before doing anything, 600MB on top of that i get more restarts so dumped another 200MB of music, installed navigon, restart issues, install 50MB of music all fine again, that its a pain in the arse but its workable, it just means i have a lot of music i will never listen too on my device
Sorry I seriously gave up on my HD2 and was using my sisters old LG phone (Sucked big time ) Yes OMAC1A I have tried 4 different SD cards, so I doubt it’s the SD card.
Moschino02 What do u mean by Zune or one shot install ? I installed the normal way here are the steps I did.
Did task29
Installed latest radio
Installed MAGLDR
Then the wp7 ROM bu running a DWI.exe
Well after I got tired I did install it over and over and over. Yes the cards were working fine on my x10i
dazza9075 The SD I used was empty.
Also guys like I mentioned I only cannot use any of the smart phone features, if I get in to maps or IE or any other task which consumes a lot of CPU, it happens.
I will try one more SD card cos u guys insist and if it doesn’t I’m seriously gonna sell it off for scrap if u want let me know it’s gonna be dirt cheap I can’t tolerate this anymore.
Also one more thing guys, i've tried android as well, a 2.2 desire ROM and a MIUI ROM. Some times it gets stuck on start up it self or on the initial setup. That to me doesn't sound like a SD card issue.
Also it overheats
You tried with Sandisk class 4\6 SD cards, right? Cuz those are the only ones that have a decent chance of working.
Overheating of the HD2 is a common problem, saw many of these phones being sold on ebay with that problem...
I have the same problem... Still trying to fix it... But I know the problem comes when the phone tries to access the SD card (sandisk).

Did task29
Installed latest radio
Installed MAGLDR
Then the wp7 ROM bu running a DWI.exe
Click to collapse
So after you install wp7 rom by running dwi.exe ( you mean v2native rom, right?)
What did you do? Did zune find updates to mango? Or did you install mango by sending cabs? What version are you on?
Moschino02 - Yes it says,
Name: HTC HD7 T9292
OS Version: 7.0.7392.0
Also i have tried other ROM as well, did not have any luck. Even at this very moment it goes through a boot loop. Just tried accessing HTC hub and it went off.
After installing sometimes it reboots or i have to manually do it by removing the battery or a by a soft reset. Yes zune finds updates but i cant update. When the rebooting point comes it never reboots to the OS just goes to a boot loop. *@#^&%$
I have used the following,
Verbatim 2GB micro SD
Unbranded 8 GB Micro SDHC
Kingmax 2GB Micro SD
Sandisk 4GB Micro SD
and none of them worked.
jinge - I dont think so. Initially i thought the same. And i removed my SD card to see but the problems kept continuing.
IF its a SD card incompatibility issue the HD2 should work fine with android. It boots only up to the initial start up screen doesn't go beyond that. MIUI is the closest i got but that too gave problems.
I'm seriously sick of the hd2 guys and i hate it i wish i could show it to you'll.
This has to be a hardware fault. IS IT ????????

[Q] SD card Not Showing - Ultra Noob Here :S

Received my first HTC through the post yesterday and joined the site in an attempt to run android. I know nothing and there's an overwhelming amount of information on this site so just need someone to point me in the right direction.
Used this and followed instructions carefully: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
My problem is after running clrcad.exe and haret.exe, the phone reset after a grey screen. Looked like it went well but now the SD card has disappeared from the file explorer and windows when connected through USB.
Any help appreciated, just want to get the SD card back up so I can format it and so on. Thanks.
I take it by the lack of replies that this isn't a common problem. It's kind of put me off trying any new ROM's as a simple procedure like this can't even go straight. Will have to stick with Winmo then
Im not quite sure anymore, but i dont think you are able to mount your sd as long as you use sd builds. I dont know if this is changing with an ext partition on your sd.
Just check out the NAND section. Its installed on your internal memory and not running from sd. WinMob will be fully deleted and replaced with Android, so first do a backup of contacts etc!!!
If you do not need WinMob for any kind of apps for work etc which arent ported to Android yet (which i dont think there are much NAND is the best solution for you.
Started like you with sd build 2years ago, too. But switched to NAND as soon as it was stable.
Now it is almost perfect.

How did you get the card to show again? Or did you buy a new one?
Just a thought, have you tried a soft reset? Switch phone off Take back cover of and press little red button for a few seconds, put cover back on reboot into android
Also make sure your SD card is formatted to 32kb (slow format)
