is there any way to extract the sound files from a NAND rom? other than flashing it to your phone, and copying and pasting on the phone itself to the SD card, then to the computer?
Hi.
Try un-zipping the ROM.
Go to \system\media\audio
Enjoy
the contents of the unzip file doesn't have that in it for a nand build, all it has is the install.exe and a few other system files.

Problem is that CWM requires SDcard to flash.
Would be nice if there's a CWM-to-DFT converter. Or maybe I just dont know about it?
that would be the best,
There's no possible way to convert .zip files to DFT ones as of yet. I doubt there ever will be too.
Why don't you just buy a cheap 4GB SD card or something?
i was thing of extracting the files of the zip and then converting the system folder and the recovery folder into iso's and then finding a dft build and replacing the iso's in the folder with the iso's i made

i asked exactly that a day or two ago, but the meta inf folder aparently contains symbolic link info that wouldnt get integrated when you converted the system folder into an img.

Extracting the system folder from CWM zip wont work. Its because during the zip installation the updater script is beeing called and it creates a lot of symlinks. So, if you just extract and convert, you will miss the whole bunch of symlinks (and permissions, etc..)

There is a simple one click daf to cwm converter, HERE, perhaps it can be reversed? (i dont have time to look at that stuff,) .. the bat file is a simple set of commands, perhaps run the commands in reverse (using the appropriate tools, should they exists, , spare few hours anyone?)
that's what i was thinking but when you go from img to zip it doesnt have the META folder , so maybe with some builds its possible
It does have the Meta info, its in a folder in the img2cwm tools folder.
so is it possible to go from CMW to DFT????
Hey guys,
My SDcard just gave up on me while I was installing a ROM
The problem now is, I have no SDcard available and no option to install another ROM, as I can't use CWM (that uses the SD card obviously)
Is there an easy way to create a DAF installer from a CWM .zip file?
Did you allready tried to format your sd card?
hey guys, how can I update a nand rom via sd port-a-droid? just unpack the .zip rom in root folder and reboot?
I'm not sure about how port-a-droid works, but I guess it creates a data.img for the 'Internal storage' right? If so, then just port the updated ROM and then copy over the data.img and all your data should be saved
Hi,
I using first time flash from MAGLDR, usualy I use NAND ROM, so anybody can help?
I extract all 7z archive files to new folder.

After that I only see costum ROM image and nothing happen...
I waited 2 hours and image is still here and nothing change...
Maybe I do something wrong?
Please help
Are you trying to install NAND, SD or NativeSD? If NAND, try the guide in my sig. If SD, just place the Android folder on the root of your SD card, set it as the AD SD Dir and boot into the AD SD option in MAGLDR. If NativeSD, then I can't help sorry.

How to Install

Copy ANDROID + MIUI folders to the root of your SD card
If you are on Windows Mobile (haret) - use the rootfs+startup.txt from "_JaguarMIUI-VXX -HARET-" (UNZIP FIRST) then Click CLRCAD + HaReT
If you are on MAGLDR, Copy both files from "_JaguarMIUI-VXX MAGLDR" to you ROM FOLDER (UNZIP FIRST) then start the ROM....
First boot takes 5-10min ( Building 1 GB data.img )
Restart ( Please do It )

ANDROID + MIUI folders to the root of your SD card?
I extract all archive in one folder. What is MIUI folder? There is no folder with this name.
If you are on MAGLDR, Copy both files from "_JaguarMIUI-VXX MAGLDR" to you ROM FOLDER (UNZIP FIRST) then start the ROM....
I don't understand this part clearly..?
I'd agree with you, that guide is very confusing.
This is how I'd do it:
1. Download the latest version of the ROM
2. Unzip in 7Zip
3. Keep going into the folders until you see a bunch of files, including Haret and clrcad. Then go UP/BACK 1 folder so that you have a folder which can be copied to your SD card, and directly inside this folder are the files needed. Normally this folder will be called something like 'Android' or 'MIUI'.
4. Copy that folder to the ROOT of your SD card (so, for example, if the folder is called 'Android' the directory should be /Android)
5. Boot into MAGLDR
6. Go to Services>Boot Settings>AD SD Dir and set the AD SD Dir to be the same as the folder you copied
7. Go back to the MAGLDR menu and select 'Boot AD SD'.
I've tried to be as general as possible with these instructions, because I don't know what's actually in the zip. Hopefully you should be able to follow them. If not, then can you describe in more detail what's inside the zip and I'll be able to give you much clearer instructions.
