Hey there, I'm running R2BA026 - which I had updated to by debranding my x10a from Rogers Wireless (Canada). Upon updating, it had changed from x10a to x10i and there was warning in the instructions that doing so would result in PC Companion/SEUS not being able to update. I was fine with this as I could always revert when a major update was released. That brings me to a message I had received tonight while playing with files while connected to the USB. SEUS notified me that there was an update available for my phones software...but I can't update because... x10i, not x10a (although I have tried, it says it is unable to update). Now to my knowledge, I do have the latest firmware. So I'm wondering if anyone else on the Rogers network, or any where else for that matter, has gotten this notification? It could be some thing interesting but I don't want to revert to branded firmware just for some none sense update. :s
I'm on the Telus network..
Therefore.. I have to depend on Rogers to get the firmware though.. haha..
So I wouldn't get any notifications, but it'd be interesting to see if anyone got some.
I would definitely debrand myself and go back to Rogers to get it..or not cause I'll lose my root ):
I ran the updater this morning and nothing for me on Rogers
Hey Guys, Just thought I'd share my Galaxy S story with you, if that's cool.
It's been 4 months since I got my Samsung Galaxy S and after a week of owning it I flashed it using Odin to I9000XWJM2 (2.1) and everything was fine (well actually my phone would always crash and it got very annoying, but it was still useable as a device) but I was still prepared to wait until the official Vodafone Froyo update arrived. So the big day arrived! I found out that Vodafone had released 2.2 though kies. My first problem was that I have a Mac and kies is a Windows only program (I used my friends windows pc to flash the phone the first time round, because Odin is Windows only too) so I contacted Samsung and they said take it into a Vodafone store and they'll sort it. I thought "great" and I took it in and they tried to update it. Only problem was they said it wouldn't work because I had flashed it and kies wouldn't recognise my phone so he basically told me to flash Froyo on the phone the same way I flashed I9000XWJM2 onto it previously.
So now I'm going to flash I9000XFJP7 onto my phone, just wondering if this firmware is any good and will it be the same or even better than the Froyo update that Vodafone have sent out? Is it also stable and does it improve the GPS?
Thanks for any help anyone can give.
Mav.
P.S. Just tonight my Marketplace has updated, and now I can update all applications at one with the update all button at the bottom, and I now have the related tab feature. I thought this was only for 2.2 phones, I'm only on 2.1.
Anyone?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S I9000
Flash the newest rom mate, it is XXJPU.
It's fast, unbranded and fast lol
and 2.2.1!
Cheers mate.
With all these updates from MS and device specific updates from OEMs it's quite easy to lose track of the updates. Especially if you have modified your device via registry and might have missed out. So this thread is just to keep track of all the updates released for Omnia 7 so far.
Right now, I have a device which was C7 unlocked after the pre-nodo update. Updated to Nodo and used Samsung tools prevent relocking. No samsung specific updates so far.
List so far
1)Pre-Nodo
2)Nodo
I Chevron unlocked it the day I got it, no updates available, then used that registry unbranding and got the Pre-Nodo right away. Haven't gotten the Nodo update yet.
Mine's from Germany btw.

Yes, I am.
Has anyone received the May security update yet?
I have not. Update will take us to version 7392. It is supposed to correct invalid sercuirty certificates. Does this mean the certificate installed as part of the Chevron process?
Got an update notice today but I already had let the house.
Rogers sim unlocked Focus on Telus.
after debranding

I did not get the update until debranding.
Paul Thurrott said on his blog ( in the comments) that he got the update on his AT&T-branded Focus, as did many others.
cool, thanks guys
No
Nothing yet for my ATT Focus.
Nothing for me, either.
ATT, NoDo, stock as a rock.
I updated tonight. At 7392 now.
OUCH
From Engadget today:
"Microsoft has confirmed that phones updated using "any unofficial mechanisms" to NoDo (which was 7390) will not be able to get 7392 via its very official mechanism: Zune."

They mean the chevron method, not the unbranding method with VPN.
I used VPN method and am now at 7392
Still no notice
Anyone else on AT&T still waiting for the notice an update is available? Mine's still saying I'm up to date at 7390. Updated with timing trick and then rebranded, hardware v1.3. What a frustrating rollout process.
No Notice

Bummer. Well, I hope those straggling notices roll in soon. I was getting worried with so many others reporting they got it.
I am waiting as well....thought I might be the only one since I did things a little bit differently in that I had NoDo via the Hungary update, then did the SSL to 7392, then rolled back to 7390, then did a hard reset. So for me it is good news to know others are still waiting......thought maybe doing the roll-back stuffed it up for my phone.
Looks like we are waiting for AT&T to finish its own testing again. Currently, AT&T is testing NoDo update for Focus rev 1.4 firmware. Hopefully, when that is done, AT&T will start testing our security update. We won't see this until mid summer at best
I thought by now we all know what to expect. Every update needs to go through carrier testing and AT&T is one of the worst in finishing testing on time.
I unbranded my NODO Focus to 000-88 and the message showed up on my phone that there was an update available. I rebranded to att-us and no update available.

Similar to me then, except I then did a hard reset.
I am on Rev 1.3 and not Rev 1.4, so there should not be any waiting for ATT to finish testing NoDo for Rev 1.4 before testing 7392 for Rev 1.4

I'm pretty there is only one testing group inside AT&T. If it is currently still testing NoDo for rev 1.4, it won't test anything else including security update for rev 1.3.
Debrand!

If you want the update, all you have to do is debrand, again. Then rebrand, if you wish, or don't. It really was that simple for me - one string, in one key.
Running Unlocked ATT branded Samsung Focus on T-Mobile. I've tried everything to get the Mango update: the trick where you disconnect the internet, I've tried resetting my phone, restoring my phone, I tried some guides on YouTube but the links are dead... nothing works!
Has anyone else been lucky with this?
If your Focus is HW Rev 1.4 (same as mine) - you can check this by looking under the battery, then you are stuck on OS Ver 7392 because the Mango update is still under testing.

Thanks for clearing that up. That appears to be exactly the problem. Sucks to wait
