Lte capper for those worried. - Thunderbolt Android Development

I have copied my service.jar into a flashable zip for those unsure if there lte has been uncapped unknowingly. This should work on all sense and senseless roms. No aosp. I'm not responsible for any bricks. Please report bugs here. Mirrors are welcomed. Flash thru cwm.
http://db.tt/kTRg0K2

Was this built into any rom? The uncapper.. Not the fix..or just the free hotspot hack that was going around?

I am unsure that is why I'm sharing a fix. It's all just in case.

<sorry about ruining your joke, im getting too many questions.>
LTE uncapper was an april fools prank. It never was real, it was a rick roll boot screen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzbDjmujI0w
Hotspot hack doesn't exist for the thunderbolt, at this point we can't edit the setting anyways. Right now we have free hotspot as is.
While if I were using a hotspot hack, I would be worried, but we are not. Some of the info provided by the originator of this rumor was true, some shady and a lot flat out wrong.

Pretty sure he's referring to what was posted as a "fix" in the OP. Just a guess tho.
Edit: yep. See pic. I just downloaded and opened. This is gonna be great for my friends TBolt once he finally lets me root it. He'll have no idea what to do!

Actually, this may very well be relevant. Perhaps it's a sign that they are readying the release. Who knows for sure.... It updates us on the status of the overall roll out. Whether or not it applies to Samsung as they seem to march to the beat of a different, unknown drummer is another story.
Thanks for the update.

Maybe now that both of Sprint's favorite sons, the EVO brothers, got the GB update they can finally release it to the red headed stepchild.

[Q] Rooting the evo with gingerbread 2.3.3

Is there a root for this yet! ( have fun)
You are going to get hell for this.. There are about fifteen threads about this. SEARCH. Even just looking in the evo forum you would know.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Being new to this forum myself, I'm kind of wondering if you're being sarcastic or something? Probably not... Expect to get "flamed" by others.
There's no root yet. But, there are two or three different exploits that have been discovered/developed very recently, so we should be seeing something released for our phones relatively soon. The most notable is AlphaRev's new hboot exploit for the HTC Sensation, which supposedly will be able to be used for most current hboots (so hopefully the EVO). But, nothing has been released yet. We aren't even supposed to know about it.
The best thread I know of to follow for the latest news is the one below, but you'll definitely know when someone releases something to root the 2.3.3 EVO. There are a lot of us waiting...

I was just teasing, trying to get mattykinsx to take the bait. You can also ignore this post-whore who seems to hate xda so much but yet trolls the forums 24/7 looking for people who don't agree with him so he can use bolded words and such.
Sorry to use your thread for this mischievous purpose.
[email protected]
Seriously, though, starting a thread with just a link and no commentary or opening salvo for a discussion is a tad weak. And I believe that, as has already been discussed, the unlock bootloader tool will only work on certain phones, and the EVO 4G is not one of them.
I don't particularly care, since I don't want to register my phone with HTC along with the fact that I've potentially voided my warranty. That can stay between me and my friends at XDA.
Finally, I will be curious to see how this Sense Developer gambit pays off. Are people really going to devote time to developing Sense-specific apps and widgets? I support that some developers worked on apps for the PlayBook too, so anything is possible.
@MaxCarnage
Thanks for the lols. I did think to myself that the post was a bit lacking, but it's not hard to click the link. As you said, however, it's kind of pointless for the EVO4G right now, except maybe the Sense SDK might allow for some nifty things.
I wish HTC would make the source code page easier. Look it up by device or something. A huge list of random source code postings is fine when it's short like it is now, but it's only going to grow. Yea yea... CTRL-F is my friend...

How long will it be...

I found this today: http://www.goodandevo.net/2011/12/h...0c#comment-6a00d83451c9ec69e2015438b1fba5970c
It's Honeycomb for Evo View 4g (my bad). I'm betting devs here will 'fix' the issues below before Sprint/HTC does... Or maybe they can use some of its code to get Sense running on ICS??
The provisos:
Your homescreen will be reset to the default HTC settings after applying this update.
Illuminated hardware keys will be disabled since Honeycomb already includes corresponding on-screen buttons.
If you are rooted, proceed with caution: you should only apply this update if your system/app folder is completely returned to stock and you have flashed your stock recovery image (not TWRP or ClockworkMod); otherwise, you will encounter errors.
Additionally, you will lose root after applying this update. The safest way to update and keep root is to wait for a developer to figure out a way to apply this update without losing root.
Its for the view. The tablet. Not the evo
