[Q] Converting .exe to .abi rom for O2 Zest - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Dear everyone,
I am new to XDA and I got language barrier (English is not my 1st language). Thus I know my problem is already solved somewhere in the forum, but I cannot understand and also do not have that knowledge to follow the instruction.
I just purchased the 2nd hand XDA Zest. I tried to upgrade it to WM6.5, but actually, now I really want to downgrade it to WM6.1. However, the .exe file provided by O2 does not work due to the problem of language incompatibility.
So now I really need to convert the .exe rom into the .abi , so that I can flash it from the memory card.
Could anyone give me the instruction of how to do it?
Many thanks for your help.

Anyone know this, please help me

follow the simple
step 1: download resource hacker software
step 2: install it OK
step 3: open the software, now open the file which u want to
step 4: go to action tab in resource hacker software and click save in binary with .exe or .___(any extension) .
and finally thank me

nbf file

Okay, I've spent 2 hours trying to obtain this information and am almost giving up.
Where do I obtain my nbf file? I want to change my splash screen but this is proving to be the most obscenely complicated thing I've ever done.
Could anyone post thier T-mobile 2.26 nbf file for me?
search in the Upgrading etc. forum for Wizard, "Cooked Custom Rom How to"
I found that thread and it alreeady assumes you know how to obtain and nbf file. One person gave a link on the ftp for a ROM dump utility and the ftp says that it doesn't allow anonomous logins. I included my user name and password but it wouldn't accept it. Why is this so complicated?
Could someone please tell me how to obtain this file? It's making me crazy.
Rename the RUU exe file to a rar file and open it, the nk.nbf file is there.Or just run the RUU (but don't click anything) and search your pc for nk.nbf and copy it to a safe location then cancel the Updater.
Thank you so much. In this forum, I read that I was supposed to change it to a zip, which didn't work, this did though.
I would suggest you move any questions regarding this to the Upgrading Forum. That's where you'll get more assistance.

Download wizard service tool (do a search, it's on here somewhere) and it has an option to download your extended ROM to your computer and then you can do what you want with the files.

hi adithya,
1. some of the cab files may be for WM5. so they wont install on WM2003 (XDA II Mini has Windows Mobile 2003 SE)
2. Regarding changing the file association, i remember seeing an application for that in the site. just search for it.
Code:

just check out the second post
3. you can use almost any swf file

Problem with camera on Omnia 7 (Mango)

Hi
I have a problem with the camera on your phone.
After updating to Mango, I disappeared into the camera settings, I have only to choose the flash setting.
There are no settings for image quality, their resolution, literally nothing.
Does anyone have a similar problem?
Did you install another language (ie put in an extra string in the registry or whatever it is called) before you upgraded to Mango?
There is a file called camerasettingsmanifest.XXXX.xml that is probably missing.
XXXX being the code for the language.
Look here for the files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208287&highlight=camerasettingsmanifest
and here for how to put this file into your phone (the relevant bit is half way down the first post)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216975
Yes, add on entry in the register was available to the Polish language.
What can I do in this situation?
Thank you for your help, now upload new firmware again and start from the beginning along with unlock phone.
Follow the instructions on the links that I've given you.
Download the camerasettingsmanifest package from the first thread courtesy of Ondraster
YOu may have to translate the settings yourself and then use the instructions from the second thread to install it...
OR if you can't be bothered with translating and are happy with using the English settings, download WP7 Root Tools and go to the Explorer section in the program > Windows and look for camerasettingsmanifest.0809.xml and copy and paste it and rename the resulting file with the code for Polish instead of the 0809 bit.
