Hi guys I don't wana use computer. Cause im not at home right now is it possible to change baseband with xrecovery? Cause I can download the file with wifi.
Thanks
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
No it isn't possible. you can only do so through flashtool
I hoped for the same thing. I wish it would have been made possible. But unfortunately it's not going to happen.
sorry man, the way bb flashing is done is via flash mode on the pc - there is no way for xrec to emulate this unfortunately, it needs to be the old fashioned usb-in-a-pc mode. sorry!
Lol it's ok. Wish there was a way people could do it with phone only just like changing roms cause I wana try cm7 and miui but if I don't like the rom means I have to change my baseband again or they should make rom available for all baseband would be awesome

Grab the BB patches that are floating around... you can flash those with xrecovery and will allow you to do exactly what you'd like.
What's BB?

Those patches don't change baseband. As of now, the only possible way of changing bb is through flashtool.

he never once said it did.....
It allows you to keep your current baseband and flash a non compatible rom however, therefore this would be better if her if she has no access to a pc.
Hmm, you're right. Still, I'm assuming BObSlob meant it was possible to change BB using those patches, because the OP's question was quite clear, she wants to switch BB through xrecovery.
If I'm mistaken i apologize in advance.
Your right lol. But I guess I have to use flashtool when I get home tonight. How long does it take to change baseband? And would I lose root?

You can change the BB without changing your FW, so no you will not lose root. But like it was mentioned you can keep your BB and still use those ROMs if you flash the BB patch through XRec.

No, I meant it as a workaround for the issue, which Ive used myself. This essentially provides you a means of keeping your current baseband and making it compatible with any rom.
Think of it as an actually delivered unified baseband that Trip promised almost two months ago.
Changing basebands is possible through custom recoveries such as ClockworkMod. xRecovery does not have the ability to alter anything in the flash memory because we do not have a fully unlocked bootloader.

Please read. Your answer is in the very thread you posted in. You cannot flash BBs without a PC!

OK, read the thread and understand it is not possible unless using a flashtool, any flashtools that work on IMAC, damn bootcamp is broken and been trying to fix for days, no luck so far and hate to have to redo the whole dang thing.
Hi guys! One question, i have a X10a, can i put it a X10i baseband? Because in development forum baseband 67 is only available for X10i-
Cheers.
You can put any baseband on any x10.

hello
from what i have been reading build number should be R2BA026.
mine is still R2BA023, is this normal?
i have ran SEUS, and the "software update" on my phone and they all show its updated
Are you branded or unbranded
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Yes its normak if you have a brandet version. That means your carrier need to send out the firmware to seus. They maybe just eaitet fir the android 2.1 update. Instead of rolling 26 aswell

mate, u will either need to debrand completely, or flash your phone with a different ROM
(or is that basically the same thing !) i flashed my optus branded x10 with global generic (i think its UK or Nordic) and all is good.
another benefit of this is that u wont have to wait for Helstra to get their finger out and have a 2.1 branded ROM for you. if you have a generic rom, then you get the 2.1 update as soon as its available (via seus obviously)
cheers, tim
edit: when you run SEUS - it checks what version you have (telstra) and then looks in the dB for the latest telstra rom available. telstra have only published/released up to the version you are running, therefore "no updates available". If you were running a generic version, when you connected up to SEUS it would be looking for a different version. hope that is a bit clearer
if i completly debrand it, and something happens to it, can i just brand it again and send it back, kinda like. rooting then un-rooting ect
?

Also does you optus My account widget works in your phone, coz mine doesn't show data usage.

sure can mate, look at the decrypted ROMS page in the DEV section. But unless something serious goes wrong, you will never load a telstra rom on it again

right, im gunna want a bit of confirmation from others here....been a while since i did this.
using Bin4ry's post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907 i grabbed the latest files from the fileshare websites listed. basically the files that Bin4ry and the other guys have created are a script (batch files) that prompt you step by step. i know the method is called ROOT but its the same process. To ROOT in this original method, you had to flash back to an older revision of the firmware and then update. When you flash back to the older version, it is a generic version. Then you can simply use SEUS to update to newest. KEEP IN MIND that doing ANY kind of firmware update will completely erase anything on the internal memory. This is NOT the sd card, so pics and such will be ok but contacts - msgs - settings will all be gone. might be best to do the one-press root, install titanium backup first and then backup your phone book and other important apps that you may have.
main thing is to ask questions. there are sh!tloads of ppl on here with heaps of knowledge. be safe in the knowledge that you cannot, CANNOT completely screw your phone. you can always flash another firmware back onto it using SEUS. once ppl hack the bootloader, this will be a different story but until then just get in there and have a go
good luck and happy modding!!

main reason that you would root first is so you can use titanium backup to backup your apps and settings. You will still need to flash to a non branded firmware, jerplea has a few ROMS on his posts, probably best to have a look in those threads and ask the masters

When running the flash tool are you following the prompts on screen? you need to have USB Debugging enabled on the Settings=>Applications=>Development enabled. let me kow where it is failing and we might be able to get it working for ya....if you are still keen anyway

what OS are you on? if its Win7 64bit (or Vista 64bit), there is a 64bit java fix that you need to run also. have a look at this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713457

If I installed speed mod kernal without lag fix can I just plug into kies to update or do I need to restore default kernal

Anybody mind sharing the modem? This might be a replacement modem for jl2 for a lot of people.
You can extract the modem from your updated phone.
From terminal emulator or adb:
dd if=/dev/block/bml12 of=/sdcard/bml12
This will save a copy to sdcard.

you can tell if its any different by looking at the 'baseband version' - if its something newer than JL2 then the community would definitely love it!

or we could help people within the comunity to understand what's out there, the risks involved and how to get around the problems that could arise? we all need things explaining to us once in a while.
Oh im sorry i see your point, it is always good to be helpful, i am trying to be helpful as well when i say you should search and read, i mean look at all the countless threads where people didnt want to read, theres like 3 help im bricked threads per page.
lol. i know what you mean. and i know it can be frustrating. it's just a shame that the play is so much more complicated than the x10 that i was previously on. it was all flashtool and update.zip stuff. practically unbrickable!! loved it. fastboot and adb complicate things, and i feel that some of the tutorials can be a little confusing to total noobs. so we need to be accomodating to their lack of knowledge (i hardly know anything, so i'm still quite noobish), but also, people need to accept their own actions and consequences. not sure what i'm getting at now, but things need to be simpler for people who want to start out
Actually the way of installation is exactly the same for any custom ROM in this phone.
1) unlock your bootloader, either for free if you bought a factory unlocked phone or for some cash sending Alejandrissimo a PM, which you have to use if your phone is branded and/or Sim locked. You only need to do this step once.
2) install a custom kernel. There are two: DoomLord's kernel and the Cyanogen Mod kernel. The latter allows you only to install CM7. Doom's allows you to install the others.
3) Enter in Clockwork Mod recovery and install the ROM you prefer as long as your kernel of choice supports it.
As to which ROM you should pick, I use CM7 because it's stable and fast. Visit those threads and see for yourself which is the one you like best.
my personal favorite (until cm7 became more usable, and also because i like dooms kernel) was zerojay's aptly named zerorom. it's a very clean and fast sony based rom full of optimizations and tweaks. i'm currently trying out the FXP028 release of cm7 to see if it's more to my liking than it was in previous releases.

Ok guys im making this thread to see who would like to see official CWM Rom manager support, not because I have the ability to do such a thing, it requires our rom and kernel devs.
You need unlocked bootloaderand also doomlords boot manager (to get cwm recovery). Also you need to download rom manager from the market. When choosing the recovery to flash you need to choose htc desire hd.
I was playing with cwm rom manager just now and backed up my rom (wb v6) in one click, phone rebooted and entered recovery and backed up then rebooted upon completion automatically. You can also download roms and google app packages ota from their server from the app. There's even a couple of premium features if you buy the full version.
I want to see some x10 roms up there from our amazing devs and to be able to make the most of this amazing tool.
Im making this thread for people to post their opinions to get devs attention not to give step by step instruction on to use any tools to get your phone bootloader unlocked or flashing boot manager.
Opinions only please.

ROM Manager will never support X10 in flashing recovery from the app. The reason is we can not flash kernels from the os/phone right now. You can select manual override and select a device.
But if remember correctly there was already a thread on this though.

As far as ota updates with no radio or kernel upgrade, that would work.

I don't know why x10 can't flash kernels, etc. since the unlocked bootloader. I think that would just require further development and a lot of devs have left

I think maybe we need zdzihu to come back to flash ftf and stuff. I think our bootloader is cracked but the flood gates aren't fully open if we can't write to where ever the radio stuff goes.
I guess we can only hope. Would love to be able to use all this stuff to its full potential and do away with the flashtool which is good but not very convenient if your on the go.

Fastboot refers to procedure consisting of
phone part and user part (run on PC) which suits
to update the system over USB (ROM , SPL,
splash screen), mainly it 's used to flash recovery
or custom splashscreen. As long as you follow
the procedure, it 's safe to use it. You don' t
need to install it, it can be used on every
Android system (client part comes with Win SDK
and can be downloaded for Linux also).
With most phones you don't have to flash things this way though, you can boot into the bootloader and flash files manually from your sdcard, our into recovery for roms, etc...

splash screen), mainly it 's used to flash recovery
or custom splashscreen.

I think i read that SE disabled fastboot on x10, im sure i read by azuzu it was disabled. The 2011 xperia range got life easy with sony willing do offer a service for this. why did they make the x10 such a problem child?
I guess though its fair to say they appear to be learning their lesson by offering bootloader unlock for 2011+ range, supporting devs, giving phones away, having proper multitouch, 16m colours and looking at bring out dual core phones.
Its too late for some as people moved on now but if you asked people if they reckoned SE would do all this in a couple of years tehy would turn round and say yeah right! IM glad i stuck it out and its been totally worth it to have my x10 how it is now and love it.
Im going off topic big style in my own thread lol

Hello my friends!
Maybe someone who owned an X10 remembers that we were never able to flash basebands without a PC or Mac, and even with our 2011 phones it is impossible to flash them using only the phone with xrec or cwm.
Now the interesting part. When upgrading my friends Neo V from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 over the air, his baseband changed from 70 to 72.
So Sonys 'recovery' is able to do this process!
Isn't it possible to 'port' this function to our recoverys?
I just wanted to let some developers think about this
Thank you for reading and your attention.

if it possible it would great!!!
Really?
Is it possible?
If it is, some dev will make it

It definitely changed from 70 to 72 without connecting to PC, everything happened over the air.
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
Yeah it changes the baseband, so i think it would be possible on cwm. Would be very nice
