[Q] "Contacts.db" - Droid X General

Hello,
So I recently rooted, backed up, and installed liberty 1.5 on my droid x. In the process I lost my contacts. I didn't see this as a problem at first because i thought the backup would store all information on my phone and I could just go back and retrieve them. I have not been able to restore them. I used titanium backup for my backup. There is a file "contact.db" that would seem to be my contact database, but I cannot figure out how to import or retrieve my contacts from the file. I did not sync to my google account, because im a dumbass and didnt know to do this. However, now i do.....
Can anyone help me?
Im new to the forums, thank you in advance.

Did you have verizon's backup assistant and did you use it?
If so, you can go to the backup assistant website and download your contacts as a csv file, then import to google contacts
As for the file, I think it's a sqlite db file.
Copy the .db file to your computer and find a sqlite db program, then try opening the file (make a backup of the file first)

You can export them from the verizon page, then import them into google/google sync
backup assistant fix for fission
I just had the same problem. you can download android-syncservice-app.apk and backupassistantclient.apk extract the apk's from these and use root explorer to add back to your system/app folder and then long press both and set the permissions then reboot and you will have backup assistant again after the reboot

i had tried this, it got backup assistant to work, however i was unable to view the contacts that it imported unless i searched for each individual one. the best answer is export to csv from verizon.com and import it into google contacts as noted earlier.

Restore Backup Assistant to JT's Froyo rom.

I tried moving the BackupAssistant.apk to the system/apps/ folder but no luck. Anyone know the extra step I need to take to get my backup assistant back?
I can't believe no one has figured this one out lol
i would love to know this too
if your looking to import your contacts from backupassistant you can go onto verizons site and goto backup assistant and export as a csv file and then import it on your phone. Just a thought
There are more files related to backup assistant than just that one apk file. I believe there are two apks, as well as changes in how the stuff in settings is populated as well. Why not just push all your contacts to your Google Account?

Import contacts from exported nandroid?

Is it possible to strip the contacts.db file from the nandroid backup and import it to the phone? Tried to restore the backup (not my phone) but contacts didn't restore and he didn't sync with goog. Thanks in advance.

If the nandroid restore did not restore the contacts then they probably weren't backup.
The backup is there. Pulled it from the phone. Extracted the contents. I can see the contacts using sqlite but there are like a hundred contacts and would rather not put them in by hand. Getting paid for this so would like to make it as easy as possible. Is there a way to take that .DB file and insert it into an existing nandroid? Just don't know how to seal it back up....
<Blaze One>
Copy them into an excel spreadsheet and save as a CSV file. Shouldn't be that difficult to copy and paste and then make sure it is in the proper format. Then import into their google account.

[Q] mmssms.db recovery

Hey I have old mmssms.db files that I want to recover but can't figure out how to do so because the files are originally from older version of Android that apparently aren't compatible with the current software. I heard you can open it in some browser and save the table as .csv then use some app to import the texts into the phone. I tried that using sqLite browser or something but could never get it to work.
Is there another method, something simpler or... ?? if not, can someone outline the steps needed to recover my old texts, thanks.
