I really like the stock news and weather widget on my nexus s for the fact that can put in custom news topics. I'm looking for something similar to that for my xoom. I like the layout of the CNN widget and that u can scroll through it, but would like to create custom news topics. Any recommendations?
Try out Pulse. Its a great news reader with fully customizable feeds and pages.
The widgets are pretty jenky in landscape because it doesn't resize in landscape to be 4 units wide (in order to still fit when it portrait), but still says when you try to move it that its 4 units wide. This leads to big gaps on the left and right of the widget that are unusable space on a homescreen.
Other than that, I really do like Pulse overall as a news reader.
I have pulse, but there problem is that I can't create custom news topics. For instance, on my nexus s I can create a "android tablet" news feed and it will find all related news articles. Pulse just find custom news station, so to speak
+1 for pulse
and I want a scrollable widget.
The Pulse widget is awful.

It scrolls left and right lol. I'd assume they'llupdate it to scroll vertically like other honeycomb ones.

Yes yes it is lol.
Try Scrollable News Widget:
https://market.android.com/details?id=fr.gdi.android.news&feature=search_result
I don't personally use it but have tried it on the Xoom and works well.
I wantto be able to create custom news topics. For instance '' android tablet'' and it shows all news articles related to android tablets. I have this set up on the stock nexus news and weather widget and its great. That's what I'm looking for with the CNN widget look.
I love the pulse app but as others have said, the widget sucks. Hopefully they update it with a nice honeycomb scrollable widget

Any way to get Facebook updates widget on Launcher Pro?
Is there a good news widget? For news from like, engadget and gizmodo, etc.
There has to be some way to do this... I'm trying to find an alternative to the Facebook status streaming widget but I can't find a good one... I'm currently using Socialite from the LG Ally but it's not too good... Friend Stream would be nice. Or the Samsung one.

I'd like to know the same.
This question had been asked many times...the search function works miracles if you ever decide to use it. But to answer your question, no you cannot out the samsung widgets with any other launcher other than the tw launcher. I also don't think there's no way around this.

This has been asked several times. No you can't use TW Widgets on LP. What's wrong with the widget that comes with the Facebook app? Or you can use Pure Messenger widget.

I use T-Mobile's Social Buzz app. It doesn't have a widget but the app is fast and works great. That might be something you would want to look in to.

Something I did from scratch. Icons are from dreamflye (or how ever its spelled). I was inspired by his dock, I liked it but it didn't fit what I was going for. So I did my own. I've been toying with releasing it.

Yeah dude...you should release it. If noone else uses it...I sure will!

PM me your contact info and your color preference and I will send it to you. I can't really send the icons yet because they are not my work, but I will be doing some of my own in the future (text icons are easy). I can maybe do a small request of icons if you let me know.
I am working on getting the some variations done before I release it (Tab on left, right, or center). I kind of want to release a bunch of variations so people can pick what they like. And I probably need to do some icons (at least the basics).
droid 2, epic 2.5, modified stock theme
Hey faceless, you wanna' post your dock icons? I like the extended right tab a lot (and I'm also too lazy to make my own unless I really have to )
Okay, I'm looking for a good 2 row / 4 column homescreen widget. I'm so annoyed and can't find a good one. I have fancy widget and beautiful widget. Any other suggestions?

I like GO Weather for now, although I would prefer if it would launch the clock app when you touch the clock...hopefully they will add it in
I like fancy widget, you'd have to search for it, I don't think its available for download anywhere official. I iseit on my captivate and my aria. it looks and act (mostly) like the stock sense flip clock widget. And you can set it to open specific apps when you touch the weather, calendar or clock...
Edit... OK I'm dumb, I just read right over the part where you said you already have fancy widget...
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
I use fancy widget, but not the one available on the market. I don't like that one. I found an old version floating around on the launcher pro website. Its identical to the sense flip clock (which is why its not available via the market anymore I'm assuming).

Why is my HD2 not this cool???
definitely interested in knowing!
...looks really amazing. Would like to try this new UI too. But didn't find any information over it, what launcher this could be.
Hope someone can enlighten us very soon
I'm guessing it's a combination of stuff, and not actually made into a rom.
For example, https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture&feature=search_result and https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free
This 3d efffect he uses in his video you can get if you use "MultiPicture Live Wallpaper" as already posted in combination with e.g launcher pro.
in multipicture live wallpaper you have to use:
- transition type: 3D Rotation
in lauchner pro:
- preferences->homescreen settings->transition effect: Flip2
also ensure, that you have:
- preferences->Appearance settings->Disable wallpaper scrolling: unchecked
For users that want to use their device in landscape only this is a very nice combination..in portrait it looks very awful in my opinion
WOW

Haha that's 100% correct, you xda guys sure are on the ball!! ..except I used AWD EX launcher the task bar at the bottom/ swipe hiding was built into CM7, btw do you guys know how to get an "app organizer" that organizes in categories IN the actual app scrolling menu? That's the last bit of my 100% customization missing

I think the closest you'll get to actual app drawer organizing would be to sort the apps in groups on ADW launcher. It has the option to create and edit groups in the app drawer, and choose which one to view. I've never seen anything that allows you to put your apps into folders within the app drawer, which has never made sense to me since it would be so much more convenient. Thats the one thing that WM still has over Android imo.
wow, very nice that
What music player is that? It looks pretty cool.

With this drawer you can create folders.

It is a free app, could s.o. download it and share it here?

Just looks like a launcher plus some cool third party widgets and stuff. He says in the comments that its not a ROM, and that he'll post a tutorial soon. Until then, check out Regina 3D launcher... its in the android market. I'd post the link if I wasn't a noob...
