hi,
I am a happy user of the HTC stock ROM (rooted + chroot debian), except of one thing: the WLAN driver...
due to its limitation it is nearly unusable from debian. but cause I just want that, I would love an alternative WLAN driver.
is there a driver and what chipset is used in dhd? is there a way of installing a driver without using another kernel / ROM?
greets
The driver is for the bcm4329 chipset (found in drivers/net/wireless).
It compiles just fine over a range of kernel versions.

I have Motorola Fire XT with two Stock ROMS but problem is one of the stock ROM HAS good Wi-Fi capabilities and is able to detect open and wpa2 networks while other stock ROM has 3g driver enabled but not the former one but both are of same kernel versions 2.3.5. so what are the files to be swapped for Wi-Fi from one ROM which does show all the networks to the one which does not show.
already we have source code for the kernel from Motorola of version 2.3.4 but of no use because boot loader is locked, but still we can swap files from one ROM to another.
I have ported greeneyes's sense 4.1 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980122) and i will upload the rom, make thread etc in friday because of my slow internet connection.
Currently not working: Wifi (shows error-because of the kernel), Bluetooth (turns on, but wont discover any devices), Camera (stock camera-no, should work with 3rd party apps but i didnt test it), 3g (should also work, but can't add apns-says that sim card is not inserted), there are also a few bugs here and there but nothing big. Everything else works perfectly and the rom is very smooth and stable.
The real problem and the reason i made this thread is because of the kernel i used for this rom, which is outdated aka shakys kernel from his rom (sense 4.0) ...and not the greeneyes's because i dont know how to port kernels, actually i know very little about kernels. Anyway if it werent for shakys kernel i wouldnt be able to port this rom, @shaky thanks.
So if anyone is interested in this rom he could help with kernel and these bugs, any tips and suggestions are welcome!
Hello everyone,
I'm new here in this forum and I hope that you can help me.
I have bought a MK 809 III Android Stick and tried to flash a new Rom after the stock rom didn't work fine.
But when I connect the device to my TV it always says "no signal".
So I tried different roms but it is always the same.
I found out that I have a rare version of the MK 809 III with RK3188T and mediatek mt5931sa / mt6622n wifi/bt chipsets.
But also the roms for this version of the stick doesn't work, although flashing a new rom is always succesful.
Maybe someone of you has an idea how to fix the problem.
Thanks in advance!
same problem
Have the same problem
tryed original firmware ibestec.com/Download/Download5.html
chip rk3188t
maybe it need kernel 1.4ghz ?
Did you already tried this rom?

Hi guys, I was curious to know if we can or somebody can compile a kernel with supported drivers for the AR9271 wifi chip, as people here also likes to have a better wifi signal using an external wifi via OTG. Any possibilities at all?
