Ok, this is the wierdest thing i've ever seen. My Wildfire gone crazy these days. I have a red wildfire. It made me some problems before, when it was on the official firmware (2.1) like when someone was calling me i couldn't answer because the screen wouldn't react at my actions. I have decided to root and load a custom rom and so i did. After i've rooted it with unrevoked i've loaded Wildpuzzlerom. Today at 6PM i put my phone at charging (the phone was turned off). Ten minutes ago, at 10:30 my phone was still showind the orange led. WTF? I disconnected my phone but the orange led was still there. I had to remove the battery, insert it and turn the phone on. Now it's working fine and the battery shows 100% percent. What has gone wrong?
Sorry for my bad english.
1: Not being able to receive calls sometime seems to be a normal issue. This has happened to most people, even on Stock ROM's. There's a thread somewhere on this. No solution yet, I guess.
2: The phone not being able to charge when switched off (Or rather, bot being able to turn on / freeze) is a Clockworkmod bug. It is a known bug, and, there is nothing to be worried about. If your phone does power off due to low battery, and , you need to charge, then, after charging, Press Vol Down + Power to switch on your phone. You will not need to go through the Battery removal process.

Correct key sequence is power button + vol down button + trackball button (reboot function)

Hi,
few months ago I installed Smoki 0.7.7 for my HTC Magic. Everything was fine till yesterday, when during charging, phone just turned off and didn't want to turn on. I tried everything, removing battery, almost every button compilation (home + power etc.) and nothing happened (black screen all the time). The only thing that worked was trackball + power which caused blue led turn on. Also during charging the orange led was on, but when i pressed power button it immediately turned off. Now the most interesting part... After whole night of being dead (without charging the battery) I tried to turn it on last time, before going to the service and phone started to work, just like nothing happened before.
Now my question is - what could happen and what could be the reason ? I rule out battery (because it wasn't charging during the night) and temperature (because phone was all the time at home).
Thanks
Hardware glitch :0)
Software glitch :0)
Many things could have happened.
It's only a malfunction/error/fault if it's repeatable!
If it happens again, take it to service... if not, then don't worry about it :0)
well, in my opinion something is wrong with your phone...
I'm having the exact same problem at the moment.. Guess I just wait a night before sending it back
Thx for the information
Hi i have rooted my wildfire from 2.1 to 2.2 froyo and since i've make this, when i charge with the phone off, the phone freezes: the phone will not turn on and the green led is not seen but only red led which remains on. I am forced to remove the battery every time I turn on the phone after charging.
How can i fix this? I have also tried to flash other radio images, but without success.
Who can help me?
It is a known bug of clockworkmod and there is no fix as of now. This persists even in v3.x

actually try pressing the power button and trackpad button both at the same time, that might turn it on.

Don't remember exactly though.

Why not turn it on when charging ?
long time ago, when I used a Sony ericson, They claimed that better to turn it on during charging, it's can collect a electricity better than turn it off.

Did you already try to wipe your battery stats? It's in recovery > wipe > wipe battery stats.
Hi all, i have a ZTE blade which i have rooted and flashed CM 7.0 successfully without upgrading the radio to GEN2. I've done this and much more without problems, however today for some reason the phone isnt even powering on. The only thing i did before was installing theft aware 2.0. Note that i dont have a SIM card inserted so it's unlikely that someone have sent a command that turned the phone into a... vegetable.
I tried removing the battery and trying to turn it on, nothing. I tried connecting it to the USB power charger without a battery, still nothing. This phone is supposed to be a birthday gift for my friends 30th birthday, so i'd really appriciate help getting it back to life.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I've tried the following: with ADB devices the phone dosen't show up.
Trying entering field test mode with VOLUME DOWN + POWER key does not do anything. same result with VOLUME UP + POWER.
Tried different USB cords without success.
Have you tried holding volume up & down together along with the power button. Make sure you have the usb cable connected from the phone to a pc. So long as you have the zte drivers, it should show up in DFU mode in device manager (from what I remember).
I think from there you can flash recovery using fastboot again.
I tried that, nothing happens. Thing is, the phone dosen't give any kind of life signal at all, not even the button backlights turns on during charging. Could it be that it suffers from a hardware defect? Or is there more things i can try?
Yeah sounds like you may have a hardware issue; especially if none of the LEDs flicker on when trying the above.
hmm, ....out of ideas for now fella.
Any news on this?
I am having the exact issue, phone is like a real brick:
- Won't do anything when trying to press power and/or any other buttons one by one or at the same time
- Won't do anything with or without battery
- Won't do anything when pluging it to the USB/Charger, not even a led response
- I've tried with and without sim, with and without sd card, trie everything and still nothing, seems complketely without any kind of life inside. The only thing it does is get heat when you put it to charge with battery
I had it with cyanogen 7, max overclock to 710mhz, min arround 200, and it happened (turned off) 5 minutes after I installed Launcher Pro...
Any ideas?

I actually gave up and sent it in for service which returned me a brand new one. I suspect that ZTE dosen't have much of quality controls since a friend also suffered a case of "true-death" on her unmodified ZTE blade...
Similar issue here. If I press the power button (with or without any combination of other buttons) it just vibrates - no lights, display or sound. Doesn't power on so no fastboot/adb etc. Same behaviour with battery, charger, or both. If I hold the power button the vibration sort of pulses, a vibration every 0.75 seconds or so. I recently opened it up to get dust out from behind the screen, so no warranty :-(
Will ask at the shop what the options are for maybe paying for a repair..

Your issue is different than the one i had, you phone is at least being powered on since its vibrating.
Most likely you broke when you opened it or you simply didn't reassemble it correctly - if i were you i'd do it again and check that all the connectors are connected.
If its a software issue, you can always try TPT - total phone transfer. google it, i read it but didnt try it myself so i cant vouch for how it works.
Hi Guys,
Before i move on, my phone literary died today, and randomly, managed to get it back to life.
Let me explain my case first.
I have a Samsung A3 2015 (SM-A300FU) which i have constantly updated with new builds, and lately am on a custom rom (with modem and BL updated). Obviously, rooted, custom recovery, custom kernel.
This setup was perfect so far, no issues, at least nothing majorly resetting my phone or ending on a shutdown.
Today i made it at work with 0% battery, plugged it on my charger, and left it to charge until 46%. Turned it on (yes, i charged with phone off), browsed a bit...and just as i was to hit the power button for sleep, the phone got unresponsive and just powered down. I initially thought that somehow an app in the background is delaying things so i even left it see if it recovers, just to see that the phone completely died.
By DEAD, i mean:
1. It wouldn't cold-reset with Vol Down + Power Button.
2. It wouldn't power on obviously.
3. No download mode...how could it work, if the above two didnt work.
4. No what so ever detection in USB from Windows, no qualcomboot or whatever that boot mode is.
I literary left it in the charger for half an hour, no signs of charging, no heat, nothing. Took it out, tried whatever not method with what ever amount of time required to hold whatever button, nothing worked.
For weird reasons, i thought LET'S CONNECT THE CHARGER, WHILE I AM ACTUALLY HOLDING VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON, AND VOILA, IT BOOTED.
I booted successfully, to find out that the battery is at 0%.
It is impossible to discharge 46% that fast, so the only possible explanation is that it never charged to begin with. What powered it down, probably the same reason, no juice.
To all the HARD BRICKED lads here, can you try the above in BOLD AND RED?
To mods, feel free to axe the thread if things dont get as expected.
You dont know what a hard brick is. What you encountered wasnt it.
Mind you mate, input needed, it is literary the first words of the subject.
Try to correct, and not belittle, and try at least to elaborate.
Hi,I am from Russia and this night i put my phone to charge for a night. And at morning i ve seen its turned off - I cant unlock it, charge it, nothing to do, phone like a brick and didnt response for any actions. Only after I pressed lock button for a 10 seconds and my phone is getting on. So, i searched this trouble and found same issue on our Russia 4pda forum. There are a lot of people faced with this problem, please tell me if you faced with this issue. I have this phone for a 2 days. First night it charged well, for a second - shutted down
PS. Phone didnt response for:
- Normal press for lock button to unlock phone
- Fingerprint touch to unlock
- Led indicator didnt work even if phone was on charging by cable ( no red or green light)
- Repeated plugging charging cable doesnt has any effect (usually phone starts charging)
- And only long press for lock button (10-15 seconds in my case) returned phone from this dead state
I am also facing same problem. The phone switches off while charging. Any solution for this????

Have u unlocked bootloader or something
I've been experiencing this, couple of days before I tried to wipe cache and it stopped from happening until today. Done another wipe cache and hoping it doesn't happen again. This is annoying. All along you think your phone is just on standby, but it isn't. It's actually turned off and had to hold the power button for like 10 secs just to power it on. I hope Asus fix this. I cannot find a lot of posts regarding this problem.
BTW: I'm running all stock, not rooted with bootloader still locked. The phone has been with me since Aug 9.
Tried doing a factory reset which seems to resolve the problem. However, after the latest update (.334), the auto shut down problem came back.
Check the battery temperature using any sensor monitoring app...
Maybe it gets high or wrong values are reported by the temp. sensor...
Same thing happens to my phone even in no charging condition
I have the same thing. Worth Pixel Experience Android 9. Nothing helps. How to be?
Try get into safe mode and see if the problem still persist. If it does, this is system problem on Asus side.
