There are a few options:
1) Learn how to do it yourself (0% chance of happening).
2) Hire some programmers to do it (5% chance of happening).
3) Wait (20% chance of happening).

i agree, i just flashed the froyo ruu on my phone and now i can't root with unrevoked, it asks if i have newer firmware, help please?

Come on, guys.
To OP: There is currently no way to root a Wildfire which has been loaded with Froyo 2.2. The bootloader has not been cracked ... yet.

Until now, wildfire is unrootable for about 4 months, Desire Z and others got their root almost as soon as new FW were released. Nobody cares about Wildfire, as simple as it is.

hi coldboy46
there is only one way
get your self a xtc clip, or find someone who has, and make s-off

htc hero with no android market

Hey guys,
If you guys have a HTC HERO that didn't come with android market then you have to Flash your phone and get a Custom ROM. The custom rom will give you your android market. I'm not sure but don't update your HTC Hero to the 2.1 because you need Root access and 2.1 doesn't give you root access thats what i heard. Well you can Update your phone to 2.1 and hope that the 2.1 will give you android market but i wouldn't take that risk.
Well i hope this help's
Thank You and have a Great Day

Do some carriers actually disable Market access?
Yes, well for my htc hero it did.
Heroes manufactured for East Asia (I think) do not have the market. I had the same problem and for a while I solved it by installing Slide me & SAM, but there were far too few applications available and that's the main reason I decided to root and instal a custom rom.

[Q] root on froyo 3.15.405.3

Hi guys,
as you know, today htc released ota froyo update for unbranded legend.
There are two updates available: the first one is from 2.03.405.3 to 2.05.405.2, and the second one is from 2.05.405.2 to 3.15.405.3.
The question is: once you updated to 3.15.405.3 version is it still possible to root?
Thanks
No.
Sent from my PC running Linux
And so... I will whait!
BlaY0, thanks for reply!
No sweat m8...
also hboot version changed from 1 to 1.01
Sent from my Legend
I would have the original Legend Froyo 3.15.405.3 ROM only with root. NO customization (like BlaY0) or other... only and simply the original 2.2 rooted.
It's possible?
so theres actually no way to root a device thats updated to froyo? not even a way to roll back to 2.1 or something?
i got froyo with vodafone branding

Will you be so kind to make a vanilla froyo zip (without root and others optimizations) for use with dsixda's kitchen? Because i can use that kitchen, but i still can't create vanilla froyo rom for it from old RUU and that damn OTA's.
(You know, people are different, so they're want different customs, not the only devs think what will be best).

I think will be awesome, the original htc update (not vodafone because not include all languages, etc) only with root permissions. No kernel no h-boots etc, it's possible?
Or, how we can do it (making hands directly into the code)?
Very thank you.
Hi,
Is there any chance to have at least soft root for Froyo?

Thanks.

HTC Wildfire will get Tough to Root after 2.2 Froyo Update

As per a forum member of XDA-Developers , he states that HTC Wildfire Which is soon to get its Official 2.2 Froyo Update , Is a good news for some , but will give tough times to others , other uses who wish to Root their Android Device.
In Details warriorvibhu Explains that HTC Wildfire will be provided with a OTA Update with HBoot , a Bootloader which would be harder to crack / modify in order to Root the device.
What do you think about this???

Yes unrEVOked no longer works although as is the case with ANY update we can downgrade and use unrEVOked
Just install danne_Jo's ROM and forget about ruu and losing root.

Download RUU and extract the ROM out of the .exe, then let it go through Android Kitchen and we got a Official ROM with root.

So means Unrevoked will not update to help poor guys updated to 2.2?
Are you sure maybe they will figure out something to provide it!

The first, my wildfire dont root.
So the second, dont install that ROM. hix
Downgrade???
Do you think the technical staffs of HTC com can downgrade this ROM to OS 2.1? They invent the upgrade utility software, so do you think they can do downgrade???? I am going to the warranty my device. How do you think so?
I am wondering the same, what would happen when I try to flash the 1.37 RUU back on the phone?
If you have upgraded to the offical Froyo either OTA or from RUU your stuck in a hole.
The update changed the bootloader in the Wildfire meaning it is currently impossible to root (which rules out custum ROMS) and you can't role back to a previous RUU because they are written with the old boot loader.
Thats what the original OP of this thread is about.....the fact that it could be a while before it's going to get re rooted via unrevoked or any other method.
So your just gonna have to wait until rooting is supported again by Unrevoked or some other app, or some clever sod figures out how to change the new Boot loader.
Hope someone figures it out soon :/

Root hboot 1.01.0001

Hi,
Is there a way of rooting a wildfire with hboot 1.01.0001?
Downgrate... goldcard... any method!
No
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Short Answer is NO , s0rry to be the bearer of bad news , lolz gonna have to wait till someone figures it out , thats why i never flash an RUU or OTA upgrade unless i KNOW what its goin to do
this is soo funny, people wait to get official froyo, then they want to root. instead they could have rooted before and get a custom froyo rom anyway.
And there were many warnings not to update to the OTA or RUU unless a newer method came out.
Bad luck guys

Hi,

NOV.17.2010
I manage to install usb driver via Speedy0339
ONLY THAT WAY I MANAGE TO INSTALL H BOOT USB driver!!!
Then I run UNREVOED3

Root with Unrevoked
Unrevoked as we speak are trying to root the new Froyo update for the wildfire.
as the change log says.
v3.31:
Backed ClockworkMod down to 2.x series on EVO 4G; now 2.6.0.1.
Still has new kernel. Still has WiMAX key backup. Now supports amend scripting again.
ROM authors: fix your ROMs! Support will go away again in 3.x.x.x: Koush has a good thread explaining the reason why.
Improved compatibility with Android 2.1 (fixes “am reported error starting service”).
Increased root timing window (fixes “failed to get root” on supported devices).
v3.3:
Fix for latest EVO 4G OTA (3.70.651.1) and EVO 4Gs with new versions of HBOOT (2.02 and 2.10).
Switched exploits for all platforms; hopefully more reliable than rageagainstthecage
Updated ClockworkMod, with plenty of new features:
3.0.0.2 for EVO 4G, which has a new kernel (for better WiMAX safety), and supports WiMAX key backup
2.5.1.2 for Incredible, which supports SLCD
No update for Wildfire yet; sorry. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Only Snow Leopard is supported in the OS X build.
No update for Wildfire yet; sorry
maybe in the next update they seam to update pretty quick its just a waiting game now.

I just recently bought my Wildfire, Never thought of rooting it till i found HBoot by mistake was just messing around i am also on HBoot-1.01.0001 like its said so many times on here root can't be done, i was messing with that z4root app on it and on temp it doesn't error out only on perm it does. So does this mean the temp root works ?
If so is there anyway you could flash with a temp root please bare with me i am a Linux person and the Andriod OS is Linux in a sense but Andriod is new to me and as such this might sound noobish.

[Q] I don't get root on my HTC Aria

Hi, I already used a lot of ways to get root on my HTC Aria but nothing.
When I try with unrevoked I take the following message: "Error: Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?" in the final of the process, I already tested on Windows and Linux and I don't know what I can do more.
HTC Aria AT&T - Android 2.2.2
Someone have an ideia?
cant root official 2.2.2
There's no known way to root the Aria once it has the 2.2.2 update installed. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this.
Did you phone come with 2.2.2 out of the box? Did you update it? Did the store update it for you?
I updated to 2.2.2 using the HTC Aria Update.
My wife has a HTC Aria with 2.1. Do you know if I can get root with this version?

Yes, Unrevoked will work on the Aria with 2.1 on it. That's the best way to root the Aria.
If it's important to you to be able to root both phones, you might consider taking it back to the store and seeing if they will exchange it for one without the update installed.

Nope, that phone is now unrootable, period. (Well, actually it's possible if you sent it to someone who has special hardware, but not something you could do on your own.)
Do you know if the next version of unrevoked will support 2.2.2?
No.but attn1 has a found a hardware solution to root and s-off the updated firmware.look at the 2.2 rooting thread.
