Front Video Camera - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hey,
i will try to ask the question again.
does anyone know a way to use the front VIDEO camera to record myself ?
using I9000
i am looking for easy way to RECORD myself talking.
at the moment i am using the regular camera to record myself
Any help will be appiciate

Uh? In the camera app i use, the first button switches between front and back. But as this is so obvious i suppose i don't understand the question.

Hy,
It's simple to use that, just go to Camera and click the first "button" on the left side, hopefully it switches to the front camera either to take pictures or to record yourself
But indeed I think it depends on which version of Android do you use.
If you've troubles continuously just feel free to ask!
Henry.

he was asking if theres a way to set it to video mode, as the front facing camera only takes photo and not videos.

Oh, really, I misunderstood what he want. Srry, but I don't know how to use as VIDEOcamera...

I never realised that videomode was not accessable for the frontcam. Thats lame.

you can't change camera once you are in video mode

total lame, i didn't even tought about it until i try to use it and then i have find out it is impossible.
the other thing is i couldn't find any information about this problem on XDA or any other forum, i guess it is not as common issue as i would expect.
oh well, i hope someone will do some development about it.

Video Calling to PC Options Fring/Qik/Other

Now that Fring has "banned" Skype (or the other way around), is there any way to leverage the EVO's front facing camera to call a PC (or any desktop environment)? Qik will do one way video to www.qik.com, but in my experience, it's pretty bad and only does one way video...
I can't believe Google hasn't implemented this in Froyo and or Google Talk??? WTF???
I found an app a while back called iMovicha. I tested it out from Evo to computer and it worked. It does need to be installed on both Evo and computer, but so do others such as Skype.
Thx... I'll give it a shot... any other options? I'm seriously wondering why google hasn't implemented this yet...
Yeaa i agree ....google needs to make moves on this.
Sent from my Evo 4G using Tapatalk
Just tried movicha and it doesn't recognize my lenovo x301 integrated camera. So... I'm stuck. I guess I'll try my usb camera to see if it's the integrated camera or the software.
Update: I used my usb camera and it worked ok... not great... and there is no option for speaker on the evo side... so I guess you'd have to plug in a headset. By the time I take all these steps, it's not worth it.
Android needs facetime... or Google Video.
The facetime on the iphone 4 was pretty cool! Thats about it though! This evo is rid!!!

It does but it's pretty buggy and quality is on the low side.

Samsung Galaxy S Sample Video and Photos

Hi guys, sorry if a thread like this has already been started, but I looked and search results on xda returned no thread found, so I figure might as well start one. I'm an new poster here, so please be patient. Here are some pictures I've taken with my galaxy s (from t-mobile usa). I've also uploaded a video to vimeo (I think I'm the first one, again, all searches on vimeo show no sgs videos, since I think most if not all are uploaded to youtube). Anyways, the pictures and video are on my site dublew dublew dublew dot foscode dot com/samsung-galaxy-review , and hopefully admins won't block the link from appearing (this is not a spam site). In case they do block it, I'm trying to also upload the pics to this forum. Hope you enjoy the pics and videos.
Page Not Found. Korean Community of Cincinati page right?
thanks for trying to check it out on my site, not sure why it redirected to the other one I maintain, I do have both sites on the same server, but I never had this problem before. I just tried accessing the site from a co-workers' pc and foscode came up... Please try again when you have a chance, and thanks for the input.
Is there a chance someone could post pictures taken in low light or dark environment. Since there is no flash they most likely are not usable, but I would like to see what the phone can do. Cause every once in a while there is that moment when you need to take a picture of your buddy passed out drunk at the table in bar or on the street..
Here are some pictures taken at waverly hills sanitarium, louisville, ky.

just like all digital cameras
Thanks, it was fun testing it out there in the dark, didn't get to see any ghosts though. Here is a picture a shot almost at the same time when someone took theirs with a flash, I had part of my finger in front of the camera.

Wow....those pictures are really poor quality, I expected better from the camera?
Are they taken in low light?
Don't get me wrong I love the Galaxy, my wife has one.
The picture attached was taken with my Nexus.
Those pics were taken at an abandoned building, at night, with no lights, or flash. If you are not familiar, look up waverly hills sanatorium on google, it is a famous tuberculosis hospital that closed in the 1960's, now they offer tours. So, to answer your question, yes, there were no lights at all, just imagine an abandoned building, in the middle of the night, no lights and no flash, try using any digital camera under the same cinditions and you'll probably get the same results. Thanks for checking the pictures out though.

This is at iso 800 which will have alot of noise because the size of the sensor. Havin more pixels doesn't mean better low light pics.

Call recording on Vibrant

Galaxy S I9000 are now able to record the call directly by internal system without using speaker and mic. The recorded voice is clear for both side.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863074
Anyone already tried this technique on our Vibrant?
Dunno if its possible on the vibrant but even if it was we would need an app that's coded for it. Right now it seems all the recording apps require mic+speakerphone.

I use the app called "Call Recorder" and have had great success with recording conversations without the use of speakerphone during the call. I recorded a sample of me calling my cell phone from my home phone. The recording quality is good enough that you can hear the caller's dialogue, and your voice will be crystal clear because it's recorded through our phone's microphone.

You're welcome man! I'm glad that someone finally believed me when I told them that the sound quality wasn't really bad at all.
Let me know how you make out with it!

I've seen in some devices 3G video calling works even with the back camera.
If someone can look into SE Neo config and port some settings to x10 that will be wonderful.

oops, thought the black thing in front beside the led is the front camera.
Yeah there are 3 things on the front 1 is ob the led for notifications another is the light sensor and the 3rd? Perhaps SE were planning to put a front camera on and decided to save the money or give ppl a reason to upgrade or there is a secret camera that they would rather you didn't kno about.
ok. I just found 2 things on my x10... LED and the Light Sensor!!
Led, light sensor, proximity sensor... that's what I find them to be

Slow motion to normal??

Has anyone here been able to record or figured out a way to create a slow motion vid with normal speed sections? Maybe with a normal speed ending or beginning? I have seen this feature on the new iphones and I hear its on the HTC one, so im thinking there is no way our Notes cant do this.
Im still doing some research but I know there has to be some vid editing app that will allow us to do this.
Here is my example for those who don't know what im talking about. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=313757172096065&set=vb.198201020359277&type=2&theater
