Ways to speed up slow mytouch? - myTouch 3G, Magic General

I am running cyanogenMod 6.1 on my phone right now. Just seems that ever since T-mobile upgraded it to 2.2 it has been extremely slow. Even when I rooted and flashed CyanogenMod it still runs slow. I can't even play angrybirds because it runs too slow. A friend has the Mytouch 3G Slide and it seems to run a lot smoother and the cpu isn't too much better. I even overclock it to 600mhz and not much of a change. is there anything I can do to speed it up? A specific rom? Or something else? I appreciate any and all help. I just learned to root and flash roms not too long ago.

I say try Ginger Toshiba it was fast for me on my magic but now I'm back to super e which is very fast lol

Links would be great but if not then do I need anything special to flash those roms?

I used buffmod 2.2.1 and it was super fast I had no lag just search xda for the roms name and you will get a lidt of them good luck

Current ROM to Custom Rom from a Stock Rom?

Can any one suggest a Custom Rom to upgrade from a T-Mobile Stock Rom for a myTouch 3G 1.2 32A?
Some thing plain simple ROM with no bogged down extra apps.
froyo will be nice, but dont know if Flash going to work and Camera and GPS working @ 100%. (i like to geotag my photos)
Something Stable and Fast.
Moving from ATT Tilt with Android NAND flash to this myTouch 3G.
thnx in advance!
Can't go wrong with CyanogenMod 5.0.8-DS.

Why not go all the way to CyanogenMod 6.0.0 DS?
It is very stable and fast plus all the benefits of FroYo
Very stable is not the word I would use. Every release of CM 6 I've tried has ran crappy.

Thnx for the reply. Finally got CM6 running with out glitch so far on my myTouch 3G 1.2. With clockwork.
Only thing I misses is Swype keyboard. How do I get this install? Me don't see it in Market.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
You wont be able to reinstall swype, legally anyways. For swype to be included in a ROM the ROM dev would have to pay the guys that created it and there's no fun in that. I'm not sure why they don't offer it in the market though.

I found SlideIt. a friend of mine bought extras. Works great. all i can think of odd is, how to type "too" and alike.

[Q] Fastest ROM for Droid X?

I'm seriously considering flashing a custom ROM to my phone but wanted to hear from you guys as to which one has the best performance out there. Any suggestions?
Just flashed rubix focused 0.5 pretty damn quick benchmark isn't that great but it feels so smooth got from rom manager
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I would suggest Rubix .5 or Fabulous ROM beta
Tried both and both are good and fast. I use my own custom rom right now though since I like the stock alarm clock and haven't figured out a way for it to run without blur home still installed.
Rubix 0.5.
Just installed zapx from over at android forums and it is ridiculously fast...

Thanks for the advice, guys. I will definitely look at Rubix 0.5 and Zapx.

best rom available

what would you guys say the best from for the slide is? been looking but every rom out looks like its full of bugs..
second is there just a stock slide rom? but still rooted?
and third what about a rom that uses the sence UI not tmobiles espresso version, is that out there?
thanks for the help
In for answer
Development section rom Bible sticky! Has all roms. Anything 2.1 is going to be less buggy. The crmod rom is the latest ota with root there are legend and hero and aria ports which are stock sense

I have used several ROMS and the the 2 best ones IMO are CRMOD and CM 6.1. If you don't need Bluetooth then I would suggest CM 6.1, its nice and fast and has very few bugs. If you need Blueooth then go with CRMOD its not as fast as CM 6.1 but is very stable and has working Bluetooth.

3rd sense is a good rom with everything pretty much working. Its the only 2.2 rom with bluetooth and it has sense so try it. Its fast has jit but not all of the customizing features of the cm roms

Been watching that one and thinking of giving it a shot this weekend when I have more time to play.

[Q] Fully working roms HTC EVO

So I have been using the End of days rom but it seems to have many lags such as gps, wireless tethering... Does anybody anybody know of a fully working rom that is fast, and stable??? It can be customized as well... But my main essentials are: 4G, Wireless tethering, and GPS
Try CM7.

Is CM7 a full working rom... Isn't there issues with the GPS??
If u have the GPS problem its an easy fix.

Koni's Elite 3 is fully functional. There's Nothing that doesn't work. And it's fast. It's been my daily since it was released last month
MikFroyo works flawlessly.
I have been using Deck's Rom which is a stock gingerbread/cyanogen mod which i love a few quirks but none of the main features.
if gingerbread isn't a big issue id say try out some non sense froyo roms (i use launcher pro mostly anyways) and they always seem snappy.
always the usuals like myns, fresh, and miks sense roms.
Trying out virus' sense 3.0 rom for the past few days and its worth the bugs for me...
hope it helps if anything just try one
I'm currently on Deck's 1.0. It's a 2.3.3 based rom and haven't had any problems with it thus far.
I was previously on Mikfroyo 4.62, which is an odexed 2.2 based rom that runs real smooth. It's pretty fast compared to a lot of the roms out, everything works on it and you can find many mods and themes for it to customize it.
As someone else stated, CM7's latest stable, 7.0.3.1, has also worked without any problems. Personally, I didn't have any issues with the GPS as others have stated, but there is also a quick fix for it if you do come across it.
Calkulin's Evio 2 v1.8
stable, fast as hell, battery saver, love it!!!
Didnt even read the OP lol but just posting based on the title. If you dont live in a 4G area, I highly recommend MIUI as its buttery smooth and beautiful, if 4G is a must, I recommend a version of the leaked gingerbread evo rom unless you have the brightness bug.
I would have to not recommend miui... its not 100% yet. While amazing, i would wait a couple weeks. pretty much any 2.2 rom is a good bet.
Thanks to all but the gps fix is not easy... I dont understand the msl reader thing... Also, I will look into the deck rom! But I definitely need the gps, 4g and wireless tethering work

Links to your perferred rom would be helpful too please

Deck rom is based off of cm so ...

I don't understand how the OP says he's looking for a ROM with no bugs, and there are posts that say "Rom x is great, except for a few bugs...."
Hey HipKat... Do you know of any stable, fast, smooth rom? With a working gps, wireless tether, and 4g...
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo. GPS, 4g, and the built in hotspot works. It's FroYo and the older Sense, but everything works.
Vaelpak is another good everything works rom.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
Mikfroyo is also a good fully working choice.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Koni's Elite Series III FTW! Absolutely no problems. I love this ROM
I've been looking but where can I get MikFroyo roms from? I saw somewhere where there is a main site...

Best rom for vodafone 32b

Can someone recommend me a good fast stable rom for my 32b magic.
I am currently running the latest cyanogen but regardless of settings its slow and laggy when going to home screen, even when overclocked.
The only requirement I have is I must be able to wireless tether with it.
Cheers.
Well over 100 views but not 1 suggestion. Oh well stuck with slow and laggy for ever I guess.
I have a mt3g 1.2. Not quite a 32b. I use ezgingerbread. Fast for me usually.

thanks for ideas chaps, after looking around decided to give ginger yoshi 1.1 a go.
Working well at the moment at least twice as fast as the cyanogen 6.1 I was using.
