Hi guys, i would like to start a thread in my quest of enabling the fonts on Opera Mobile 11 to look as good as possible.
I have tried the following settings from another thread, however, the fonts look clunky on the Desire HD.
[Fonts]
Form.Button=25,3,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
Form.Input=25,3,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
Form.Text=24,3,0,0,0,0,Courier New
H1=40,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
H2=34,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
H3=30,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
H4=26,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
H5=22,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
H6=20,5,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
Normal=25,3,0,0,0,0,Tahoma
PRE=23,3,0,0,0,0,Courier New
Specifically i would like to use these fonts in Opera Mobile 11.

Can anyone help?

I've been to others subforums and asked there but I haven't got any real answer, so I decided to make a thread (again) here.
So guys, where can I get these apps : (don't say, use this or that ROM, I don't want ROMs, just the cabs)
1. HTC HD Audio booster (not the old one, because I had it and the fonts size was too small)
2. HTC HD USB-PC Popup
3. HTC HD enlarge start menu
4. Opera 9.5 newest built (2808?) for WVGA *obviously*
5. newest flash lite
and how to uninstall the preinstalled Opera and flash lite? or can I just install the newer ones?
anyone else also noticed that the preinstalled opera is a hungry power sucker? it drains battery far faster than opera mini i've been using to type this post.

I wouldn't mind having those in cabs as well, I believe the opera build can be downloaded off opera's website, though the HD USB-PC I have yet to find.
Opera mini = java based app that uses server side compression to get the webpages to you.
see mini.opera.com
opera mobile = (in this case) windows mobile native app that doesn't use serverside rendering (yet)..
see opera.com/mobile there is no specific WVGA version, it's purely down to the skins and teh vga skins work fine. I'm using 9.5 official beta 2 at the moment to type this.
as to all the apps you want search for them, they are on this forum!
^ yeah, but the only one easy to find is HTC enlarge start menu, I can't find audio booster and USB-PC popup cabs; so instead of saying like that, why don't u help me?
So is it that much quicker rendering?
Either i'm getting older, and less forgiving of people, or people are getting lazier, and relying upon good natured people to do their work for them.
Search is a marvellous thing on a forum, also Google is quite brilliant.
In just a few minutes, i managed to find 4 of the 5 things you are looking for.
Best of luck.
Which version of opera mini? Generic? The buttons are much too small

TBH I'm getting annoyed here as I can't find what you claimed it was so easy to find.
So which opera mini?
The recent builts of Opera mobile cause the 'out of memory' problem on my HTC touch. I already tried to change the temporary folder to my storage card, but unfortunately it didn't fixed the problem. Does anyone knows which of opera mobile works correctly on the HTC touch?
Thank you.
Ps. I use the original rom
opera mini
I'm using opera mini and it works perfectly! Better than explorer.
i'll second that. Opera mobile was useless on my (custom ROM) touch too ... however Opera mini is brilliant (although remember not to use it for banking and secure stuff like that as it isn't fully encrypted).
it's a java app which is a pain, but if you search the forums there are ways of making it act like an application which work like a treat.
Opera 9.5 from Omnia
Works well on my Elfin.
Hi everyone
Just installed this on my hd2 and like it but need to know how to transfer my favourites from my laptop browser (internet explorer) to my hd2 opera mini5.
thanks in anticipation
zip
the hd2 has opera installed as the default browser, why did you install another version?
you can use opera link, though you have to create an account.
opera mini
i installed this version because it looks better than the version installed on the phone , it loads quicker and has a nice interface . i also installed the link but it still doesnt transfer favourites.
It's a lot better than the one on the phone - shame you can't make it link in with Sense, and no multi-touch is an arse too
In other words .. it's better except it's worse ? I still use mobile 9.7.
I've just played with native mini 5, and it's nice, but mobile 10 is better in all aspects, and since I can't live without fluent zoom, I still use 9.7 anyway.
Hello there HD mini users!
I opened this thread cause I thing a lot of you might have the same problem with me using weather watcher.
By default if you install WW (weather watcher) in your brand new HD mini it won't gonna work because it opens opera mobile inside WW and you cannot do anything.
I tried a lot of things to fix this issue (net frameworks 3.5 installation, registry tweaks, and a bunch of solution that could come to my mind.)
But the solution was soooooo easy that you can not even thing about it!
By default HD Mini uses opera mobile to open html files. And a lot of user don't even open explorer because opera is much faster and handy than explorer.
But if you just open explorer once, and reply yes to the question use IE as your default browser, weather watcher works like a charm!
Such an easy solution for so big trouble...
Another solution that gives points to HD mini!
Thank you for reading this!
i'll try this on my HD2
thanks
unfortunately it didnt work on my HD2
Hello my friends,
I juste would like to discuss with you about the futur of web browser on our famous wm6.5 OS !
I use Opera 9.7 36053 which is the latest release from the OOBOE or Hengshan ROM.
-> This build is not available on opera website, but, HTC has all these builds, so do you think that HTC or Opera could give us a new build if possible ?
In addition, we don't have a browser supporting HTML5 so anyone here have informations about the future of our browser ?
Does Opera release a new Opera Java browser ?
Do you think that it will be possible to hack the Mango's browser to our WM6.5 ( can dreaming ).
If anyone have some informations, please share it !
I love WM6.5, I love my HD2, but it will be famous to having a better internet experience
Thanks for reading,
best regards,
Nixeis
short answer: nope.
yes, we have 9.7.36053 from oboe, but it's still the same old presto-engine. and if htc ever releases a new winmo-rom - i doubt it. and even then, it would still be the same old engine.
opera itself stopped developing for winmo, officially. (no mini6, no opera 11)
the only good news is regarding native mini 5: changes on the servers (to display sites correctly) still are done for it as well, not only mini 6. sure, you can use java-versions too, but it's never the same experience.
I downloaded opera 10 directly from the opera site its self. Seems to be a newer version than OBOE!
maybe that's because oboe has opera mobile 9.7 and you got opera mobile 10. see the difference? ^^ opera 10 is nice in theory, but it's a memhog and worse on some pages compared with 9.7. they fixed lots of stuff with 11, but we don't get it...
i prefer mini5 as main browser and 9.7 as backup.
